Howire.com / not delivering on their

1 United States Review updated:

Hotwire.com claims they can save you up to 50% off of hotel rooms... I was looking for a hotel in San Antonio near Bass Pro at the Rim. I was leery of using Hotwire.com since I've never used them, and, they don't tell you hotel name until after you've submitted your credit card info. Went for a 3-star with their price of $85 on website, thinking that if I was saving even 25%, it would be a good deal. I entered my information including credit card information, received confirmation that we would be staying at Holiday Inn Express, 4800 Woodstone Drive - so I go on Holiday Inn Express website to see what their rates are, and guess what?... no, really, take a guess... their rates at the hotel for my stay was $84.95. That's right, Hotwire is saving me charging .05 cents/night more than the hotel itself. I called Hotwire thinking there had to have been a mistake... oh no, no mistake... rep told me Hotwire was there to sell rooms so hotels could fill up their hotel rooms, not to save the customer money. Hotwire will be adjusting my rate, giving me by .10 cents back. HOW KIND OF THEM!!! A whole .10 cents. OH, and Customer service at Hotwire.com was rude. I have learned my lesson, this was the first time I use Hotwire.com, and will most definitely be my last time. AND, I will tell others of my experience. I could have probably found something closer at the same price or a few dollars more... NEVER, EVER, EVER AGAIN THROUGH HOTWIRE.COM

You should never pay for a hotel you don't know! I usually use Expedia as a guideline then go to the hotel website. You always get a better room through the hotel itself as the hotel has to pay a commision to hotwire. You should tell that to everyone you know...
