Housing Preservationsign Development / Dysfunctional agencies
Housing Presevation And Development is a dysfunctional and corrupt agency. Amongst it's duties is inspections, because of a bureaucratic nightmare I can't make an appointment to have them come out to inspect a complaint of no hot water for several months. I call 311 and not once, but twice, and the complaint number never gets filed. I called the Brooklyn
borough Presidents office Marty Markowitz, and they don't respond, all because I don't know when to expect HPD; so they pretty much tell me to drop dead. I tell them the lack of hot water is building wide, they tell me it isn't. Since they didn't have access to the building without being admitted through the intercom, which isn't working fully, but enough so I can hear them; they lied. How could I not have hot water and it not be thoughout the building? Now for the 3rd year not only won't I have hot water, but no heat either. Vito Mustaciuolo, Deputy Commissioner Office Of Enforcement And Neighborhood Services. Michael Bosnick, Assistant Commissioner. They don't make inspections at night or weeknends. The problems are worse at night, weekends and holidays. HPD sides with landlords over the tenants, and that is deliberate.
