In the building I live in the only cable you can have is a company by the name of hotwire that is based in philly. I have never heard of them but I really had no choice. I purchased the cable and internet package. Everything was fine until late february and march. For some reason the internet connection on my floor was disabled. I called about it and they said that they would be sending someone out the following day. So of course the following day came and nobody showed up. I called they said that they will have call me within 24hrs. No on called so I called. They then proceeded to tell me that they will be sending someone to my home to check out the problem. Now I made sure to stay in the house the whole day and not one person came by. So I called again. Now I had papers due for school and midterms coming up and I needed the internet connection. The library was not an option. I get out of school and have to go straight to work. But when they were sending people I had those days off which were wednesdays and fridays. Now im upset. Because they kept saying someone was gonna come and someone was gonna call. Finally I said you know what I know longer want this internet just cable. The representative said okay and said that I now only have cable. Also every time I called I made sure to file a complaint with them each and every single time because I have never had a cable company that was so nonchalant about a situation. The internet was supposed to be taken off my bill. It never was. I kept getting charged every month for the package. Once again I called to expressed my anger with the company. They said a supervisor will be calling me in the next 24hrs. Over a three week period I was told this over and over again. Until finally a supervisor called. She told me they had no record of me saying I no longer wanted service. I told her it should be as well as all the complaints I had. She told me I see the complaints but not the request and told me that she had to charge me for and internet connection that still was not working. I said im not paying for nothing that your representatives said they cleared. She told me she can only take a couple of dollars off because the auditors are gonna wonder why we are giving money back. That is not my problem I told her to pull up that phone call that you say is recorded and you will hear me express my disappointment with them and the service. The calls are only recorded at random. Isnt that something. Do you honestly think that I am about to use the internet and it doesnt work. The box to this day still does the same blinking it did months ago. I get better connection through my phone when I connect it to my laptop.

The service is terrible and I still refuse to pay. Customer service was a big zero as well as the supervisors response. They need more training in that company. They cannot screw over customers because there employees cant do their job right. I have gone to higher authorities and was told that what they are doing is wrong and that I have a case. Its just unbelievable how they can think that they can get away with this.

Our community just signed up w/Hotwire, but we will not get service while they install equipment for 6 months. I am NOT for this service and MANY others feel the same way. I have had Comcast since I am in Florida and have no intention of changing. The Community stopped Comcast as of April 1st. So now we have no contract w/them or anyone for service at present./ I have signed up w/Comcast as many others have. Now you tell me. What action and or rights do we have now, as for being forced to pay for Hotwire in 6 months when they have installed all their equipment? Legally the community canceled Comcast contract and we are left w/nothing unless we go somewhere for service. Legally can they force us to pay for the service they have choosen? Does anyone know what our legal rights are? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

I recently move to a new apt. That only provides Hot-wire services. I never got into a contract withe hot-wire services and somehow Im being charged for last years services which is just ridiculous cause I didn't even live there last year. Now when i try to solve this mystery they keep saying that they have an investigation open but i keep getting a bill statement thats getting worst every month. Worst costumer service ever, Government should close down this rip off company.

I agree with the above. What a terrible company with terrible service. My internet DL speeds are frequently at 14.4. That was my modem speed on Prodigy back in 1994. They won't offer HD or DVR and over the past few weeks, 7 channels have just disappeared from my cable. SEVEN. Unfortunately I have no other choice...which should be illegal.

I fully Agree. Hotwire is the worst company ever. It should be banned by the government to provide services. Worst of all, they have the exclusivity contracts with my condo, so I can't select any other provider. If I would have known, I would have never bought a condo there. Lesson learned, you should check the cable provider before buying. If Hotwire is the vendor, do not buy or rent at that place!
