WONDERFUL! Thank you for your assistance and editing, yet still communicating my full message. I appreciate your attention and assistance in this. I have written to GoodHousekeeping, as they were where I got the whole idea and encouragement to purchase this steaming pile. They say they will look into it, as it is their pledge to either replace or refund an item that they recommend when it fails within 2 years of the consumer's purchase. This might be good for your readers to hear about. Without this sort of support, where else would a person go? Why do you have to get help from an outside agency rather than relying on the company to stand fully behind their product? Hoover is standing so far behind this product, they can't be seen...

October 5, 2006 - Consumer Message:

Back in February I purchased a Hoover Savvy vacuum cleaner. It performed well, until after 2 months, it became deceased. I took it to my reliable and very established service center, where it has been for the last 5 months. It has had the motors, circuit boards, and other items replaced NUMEROUS times, yet it still doesn't work. I have been bothering Hoover to simply replace this obvious Manufacturing Defect, yet they refuse, stating that their warranty only covers repairs, not replacement.
This Savvy has been at the servicer since May, at this point, and speaking with the servicer yesterday, has no intention of returning to my residence in a repaired condition. The servicer has spoken to district representatives, repair coordinators, factory, etc., yet it still will not operate correctly. I asked the servicer when they expect to at least have an answer from the manufacturer, and they state that they should be able to tell me SOMETHING within a couple days. They state that they have run out of options for repairing this obviously Defectively Manufactured item, and they are simply waiting on the factory to submit ideas. They have been fixing and repairing, replacing and swapping, for FIVE MONTHS without any success.
I have submitted my story to ePinions.com, Consumerist.com, and now here. I stop people in stores and tell them not to purchase Hoover/Maytag products, share my story, and receive their thanks for saving them the trouble. My patience has been worn thin, and I have nothing left. I would think that any RESPONSIBLE manufacturer or corporation would want to actually SERVICE their customers, and would want to protect their name. This is obviously NOT the case with Hoover/Maytag, who simply hopes that the fame of their name will outweigh the negative reports of unhappy and overburdened customers.
I will NEVER purchase another item from Hoover/Maytag EVER as long as I live. I will recommend that none of my family ever purchase anything from this irresponsible and ignorant corporation. As a teacher, I make sure that EVERY person I come into contact with hears my story. It's a good ice-breaker, and people are glad to be warned about the treatment they can expect should they buy anything from this corporate FARCE. I have been reduced to contacting my CONGRESSMAN's office, asking for ANY assistance they can offer. My latest idea has been to make HUGE bumper stickers for my vehicles, so that as I drive through Chicago and suburban traffic, I'm able to warn as many people as possible that they shouldn't buy from these people, who have obviously lost touch with reality and have NO idea what it takes to supply GOOD or even FAIR customer service.
Thank you for your website, as it is a place to vent, and a place to have consumers come together and warn each other about this sort of thing. It's up to the consumers, now days, to stay informed, and to band together to root out companies that do such a horrible disservice, and are obviously just in business to collect money and feed their corporate greed.

I bought a Hoover carpet shampoo er, used it twice and it quit spraying water now I can't use it. I paid $154.00 for it so quite a bit of a expensive machinery just to use twice. My Bissell I had lasted 4 years! I bought it at Walmart in Kennett, MO. Last year 2023 I dont have a ticket cause it was working fine and I don't shampoo carpets often.

Just (2023.12.12.) purchased it and when operating, it does not pump and recirculate the cleaning solution.

Canada customer service is closed.

A chat agent is giving me a runaround, sending me to someone for a charge. I expect Hoover customer service free and intend to pay nothing.

Battery charger for Onepwr unit purchased March 2023 worked twice. Alleged 3 year warranty was not honored due to the purchase being made on Amazon through an "unauthorized" seller. After being denied through e-mail, I tried to contact them via chat and phone. No response. either time.

I have tried multiple times to resolve my issue with no success. I keep getting told it takes time to refund my purchase I returned over a month ago. When I call, I am on hold for a very long time without reaching a human being.

The day after I received this product, I sent it back.

Hoover does not employ a customer service department. Hoover has my money and my order was never delivered.

Fedex cannot locate package and says Hoover needs to start lost parcel claim and you cannot speak to anyone at Hoover.

No one answers phones or chats.

This is pathetic.

Sent duplicate emails regarding issues and instead of responding sent advertisements been on hold for 1 hour 30 mins to speak with live agent chat is bogus as well only get a robot terrible at having representives never got a call back when I selected that as option just irritated

Bought this product through Amazon.

Parts advertised were missing.

Customer service is terrible. Would appreciate the missing part in order to make the carpet cleaner effective. We're missing the scrub brush which attaches to the applicator in order for the carpet cleaner to be functional.

I purchased my pet shampooer at Kohls Dept store about one year ago and hardly used it.it broke down, and sounds like the gears are bad.makes a loud noise.very unsafe to use.I loved it but it didn't last.

I have been injured while wiping top of the washing machine as it had some sharp edges on the top which I were not expecting nor it was mentioned in the manual.
And some plastic particles had stuck in my finger. (white particle visible on the photo)

It has been almost a month since I have tried to get a belt for my vac. Now they tell me it is back ordered six weeks. I will never by another hoover. What am I to do ? It is only 6 months old. There are no belts anywhere for them.

I did not purchase the Hoover that this person did. I purchased a wind tunnel canister. It has been sitting in a repair shop for the last 2 1/2 months. I call hover but they are nasty. I have sent e-mails, no response. I have sent letters, no response. I tell everyone, don't buy a Hoover product. I paid almost $200.00 for a vacuum that I will probably never see again. DON'T BUY ANY HOOVER OR DIRT DEVIL PRODUCTS.

I'd agree with you with the Savvy, it's a pile of junk. My Hover Savvy broke twice in the first year. The first time the light started to blink and stunk of burning plastic. It ended up being the main circuit board. The second time the switch was bad. I took it to a vacuum repair shop close to my hose that was not listed on the Hover website and the shop owner said he does warranty work Hover. It was in a few days each time, but I have didn't have to pay a penny for either visit.

I had a Eureka for 7 years prior to this and only had to replace bags and belts. Needles to say, I'll be going back to Eureka when this Hoover is done.
