I placed an online order for candy ($33.43) on 9-28-08. I received an email from 'Support@HometownCandy.com' on 9-30-08 stating there was a problem with the server and I needed to submit my order by mail and they were unable to process credit card orders and payment would need to be via check or money order. They offered a 5% discount for mail orders.
I mailed my order/check on 10-2-08. (note: bank records show the check was deposited on 10-6-08).
After waiting 4 weeks and receiving no order, I began to attempt contacting the company. Phone calls to the 800 number were unsuccessful as were numerous email attempts.
I began investigating this company online and discovered - too late- they were unscrupulous.
No candy-no refund- no 'customer service'.
I too, have been scammed.
