Homeland Health Care Not A Complaint

Homeland Health Care does what it promises. You people are being scammed by the folks selling it. Seriously, do you think you can really pay $150/month and have 100% of everything paid? That's the seller lying to you, not the insurance company. Stop complaining about Homeland & start complaining about agencies who have agents misrepresenting the product!

Yes, the sellers are scamming people. However, HLHC does have control over who sells their policies so this defense does not hold up. After having one of their limited policies for over 4 months, they decided that my husband was not covered under the policy, although they had paid and approved two claims and two prescriptions since the inception of the policy. They said it was an "agent error" that he was listed in the first place. You can bet I will be taking this to the top officers and the media as far as I can.

I choose Homeland Health Care for medical insurance because they accepted me with a pre-existing condition, high blood pressure. Assured me this would not be a problem. I started with them in August 2011. I used my insurance for the first time on March 31, 2011 and when the bill wasn't paid I found out I had been switched to another company. I never...

Homeland Health Care Frauds

FYI- There's a company down in Florida that uses pridictive (auto dailer's) 24/7 and goes by the name I Select Health Solutions, 2950 W. Cypress Creek Ste 106, Ft. Lauderdale [protected]. Agents answer the phones by the greeting "Thank you for calling the enrollment center, who do I have the pleasure of speaking with" pissing off a lot of people that are on do not call list's. Then proceed in selling 90% of the policy's through Homeland Health Care underwritten by Markel like it's the next best thing to a BCBS Major Medical Plan. Well it's not, there Quaranteed Limited Health IdemnityPlans (minimeds) that are'nt worth more than tiolent paper. Half of the agents are not even licensed by the state of financial services to sell health insurance. So if you get pitched by someone called Mel.Kathy, Paul, Steve, Gary, Shawn- stay away and hangup the phone they are breaking the law to sell health insurance in the first place. This company needs to be raided and shut down by the Department of Financial Services as well as the owners going by the names like Wayne, Shawn, Scott, Bob should be criminally prosecuted for rakeing in millions of dollars in premiums that don't give hard working citizens the health coverage they urgently need. SO PLEASE BE WARE OF I SELECT HEALTH SOLUTIONS [protected]. THEY ARE TOTAL FRAUDS AND IN THEIR BEST TIME, TIME WILL CATCH UP TO THEM. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM! Off to the next case.

An agent sold me this policy and in February 2011. In August 2011, after I submitted claims, I found out Homeland Health Care had dropped me 2 months prior and my agent nor myself were never notified by phone or mail! My agent said this has happened before. Really?

I have been sent for years an email from Shawn Hart saying they were responding to my request for info. I did ONCE like 8-10 years ago. I have been trying to get off their email list - especially since this insurance was not for me, and the email comes into my company email. They also DO NOT have an unsubscribe listing or any other company info/privacy statement/copyright info at the bottom so I'm stuck with these emails. I called just now and I asked if I could be removed from their distribution list. A fellow answered 'yes' and hung up on me. I called again - 'Melissa' said yes and hung up on me. I called again and she did it again. Then I asked for a supervisor, THEN Melissa talked to me. She of course denied hanging up on me. She did take my email address, it will remain to be seen if she actually removes it. They are just plain rude! Glad I did not need insurance from ISELECT Health Solutions.

Homeland Health Care CERTIFICATE OF CREDITABLE COVERAGE

I PURCHASED THIS INSURANCE IN JAN 2011. I WENT TO MY DOCTOR FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH THIS INSURANCE ON FEB. 28, 2011. YESTERDAY I RECIEVED A BILL FOR MY DOCTORS OFFICE THAT I OWE $918. WHEN I CALLED THEM THEY SAID I NEEDED A CERTIFICATE OF CREDITABLE COVERAGE IN ORDER FOR THEM TO PAY. NO ONE MENTIONED THAT I NEEDED THIS CERTIFICATE WHEN I GOT THE INSURANCE. I FEEL THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND I AM VERY WORRIED THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR MY DOCTOR VISIT.

After reading this person's complaint, I noticed one thing in particular...rather than accept responsibility for getting the letter as she was told is needed so the insurance company will pay, she decides to defame the company for not paying. Vickie, get the letter they told you to get...stop whining and do what you need to do so they can pay whatever amount they will pay. It is not the company's fault you didn't do your homework and know what the policy requires...that is why they give you THIRTY DAYS to READ it so you know whether it's something you want to keep!

Furthermore, your assertion that you "feel" this company is a scam is childish at best and "cause for action" at it's worse. I looked this company up and they are one of the fastest growing companies in Texas and America making the INC. 500 list at 79th fastest growing. If your claim is accurate and they are a "scam", how is it they are receiving such accolades and hiring new employees at the rate of 15 to 20 new people per month...based on employment records? Hmm? It appears to me you are the one at fault and not the company...you didn't read the policy to know what to do in order for the insurance to pay as they told you it would.

Grow up, stop whining and take a pill!

Homeland Health Care Fraudulent Practices

If anyone is thinking about signing up with this company for health insurance...DON'T THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUDULENT COMPANY. I signed up for this insurance last November and as of today they haven't paid one cent of my medical bills and the prescription coverage is pretty much non-existant if there is any medications that aren't generic you might as well forget it, I take two inhalers and they would only cover about $15.00 of the cost of $250.00 for each medicine. Everytime I call to see if they have paid any of my medical charges I get a different excuse of why nothing has been paid. I am contacting the Insurance Commissioner and also the Attorney General as someone needs to stop this company from scamming people.

I too have put in a request for an insurance quote (thought I might get a couple calls not 50 and counting). After researching many of the people calling I felt that the only "legitamate" one was a company out of GA called NBLA. I talked with several people who had varying degrees of success in getting their claims paid. Their website was upfront (mynbla.com) and the representative (Beth 866.953.5783) was the least pushy of all the calls. i received. She actually told me that she wasn't comfortable selling me the policy until I made sure my cobra was in fact ending. When I told her I was considering 2 other providers she help me by giving me their websites not bad mouthing them. These were homeland (homeland4one.com) and patriot health (healthoptionone.com). She did say that hers was the best but that if I went with them after seeing the info they provided she would respect my decision. I made several more phone calls to Homeland and Patriot Health without letting them know I was on their website. They were completely and totally dishonest with me about their respective levels of coverage. When I asked Patriot Health (Gary was his name) why the website said something else he hung up on me and would not take my calls anymore (RED FLAG) At least the homeland rep (Michael I think) tried to make up some B.S. about the website not being up to date. Both Homeland and NBLA accepted creditable coverage so I wouldn't have to wait 12 months to get my knee covered (needs to have some work done). I had been denied by most major meds and had to take a "limited benifit policy" so I took the plunge with the NBLA because of the non-pushy approach the NBLA rep (Beth) took. I also could not find any recent complaints (within the last 18 months) online.

I received the policy and it was EXACTLY what I was told it would be. My doctor does accept the discount and was paid. (he did say it took a little longer than he liked but he would still accept it) I cannot speak for any other experiences that others might have with them but I think anyone reading this and still needing coverage should call Beth @ 866.953.5783 and give this company a look. I will update you if anything changes about my opinion.

I will post this on the other boards as well.

Homeland Health Care Fraudulent Health Insurance

Well I am just another victim of this scam - I too paid $258.00 from my bank account and have been unable to recover one cent - I cancelled the insurance before it began even - after reading some of these comments - they tell me it has been cancelled and they never received the money - of course my bank shows they drew the money from my account - so now my bank is trying to investigate this fraudulent transaction and see if they can help recover my money - this is a lesson learned - a salesman from America's Healthbrokers sold me this policy - Joe Borak - complete and total fraud and two months into this scam I have been unable to really talk to anyone to achieve any results - it is unbelievable that this scam can operate - aren't there some type of laws to protect against this

Hi,
I agree with you 100%. I discovered some other websites that all linked together and are part of this scam.
I submitted my entire story, the posted stories from a few website about several other websites and companies
that a linked to Homeland scam. I would love to email you and tell you of my findings. I was lucky I closed my bank account the next day so they could not take anything.
I will check back here to see if you have read this and the best way to contact each other privately.
Best wishes,

Homeland Health Care Refund

First, I live on Social Security(can't afford to loose any money).
Second, I bought Homeland Health Insurance on line in March, 2010
Next, I went to hospital in April, 2010 with an infection from having a prostrate biopsy. The hospital submitted a claim to Homeland.
The following month I received a bill from the hospital, I contacted Homeland customer service, they told me I needed to get a letter of Crediteable Coverage from my previous carrier. So I called UCT customer service and asked them to fax that letter, they really didn't know what homeland meant but would contact them to find out..ok, good. The following month I received another bill from the hospital...NOTHING HAD BEEN PAID.
So I got back on the phone to Homeland trying to find out what was going on...they told me that they hadn't received the letter of Creditable Coverage. I called UCT again,
anyway, to make a long story shorter...this went on for 2 or 3 more months. Finally, I found out that Homeland wanted another letter from another carrier that I previously had prior to UCT...NO ONE told me this for several months !
Now, finally Homeland gets the other letter from all my previous carriers. Still Homeland hasn't paid anything.
So ALL THIS TIME, HOMELAND HASN'T EVEN CONTACTED ME OR THE HOSPITAL, seems like they're avoiding the situation...NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL !
Finally, late November early December I decided to change insurances to Humana to start in January, 2011. Since Homeland didn't care about anything or their customers,
I changed companies.
NOW, SINCE HOMELAND HASN'T PAID ANYTHING, I ASKED FOR A REFUND OF $1071.00($109.00/Mo.)...THEY REFUSED ! FOR THE REASON STATED TO ME FROM A CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR "THAT THEY(Homeland) HAD RECEIVED CLAIMS AND INQUIRIES FROM PHYSICIANS WANTING TO SUBMIT A BILL . NOW THRU ALL MY PHONE CALLING, I FOUND A PERSON AT HAMMERMAN & GAINER, WHICH PAYS HOMELANDS CLAIMS...THAT HOMELAND AND HAMMERMAN & GAINER HAD RECEIVED 'ALL' THE CREDITABLE COVERAGE LETTERS SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND THAT THEY(HAMMERMAN AND GAINER) HAD REFUSED TO PAY ANYTHING ON THESE CLAIMS, DUE TO 1 YEAR CREDITABLE COVERAGE...I DID NOT KNOW THIS AT ALL(when, I purchased the homeland insurance, NO ONE ever told me about 1 year coverage)...HE SAID, THAT THEY CONTACTED HOMELAND AND TOLD THEM THAT HAMMERMAN & GAINER WAS NOT GOING TO PAY ANYHING, NO ONE CALLED AND TOLD ME..BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AGAIN ! ALSO, I HAD ASKED THIS MAN TO SEND ME ALL THE CLAIMS THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED TO BE PAID, HE SAID "THAT WOULD BE 'NO' PROBLEM BUT, THEY DIDN'T HAVE "ANY" CLAIMS TO BE PAID...NEVER HAD RECEIVED ANY!
ALL THESE MONTHS HOMELAND HAS BEEN TAKING OUT $109.00 A MONTH AND NOT PAYING ANYTHING AND NOT TELLING ME THAT THEY WEREN'T GOING TO PAY ANYTHING UNTIL MY YEAR WAS COMPLETED IN MARCH 2011.
NOW SINCE I'VE GONE AHEAD AND CHANGED COMPANIES, AND "HOMELAND HASN'T PAID ANYTHING" I FEEL THAT I'M ENTITLED TO A REFUND OF MY $1071.00
There are a lot other things that homeland hasn't done, too many to write down here(this is already too long) I think, that I've tried to complete all that they asked for...and like I said, I live on SSI and can't afford to give my money away to someone that has given me the run around, DON'T YOU AGREE?

I will likely have to find another health insurance provider. Even if I get restitution from HLHC, it will likely not be in time to help us with medical bills and I won't trust them again. Does anyone know of an ethical affordable insurance provider for a limited benefit policy (basic things: doctor visits, diagnostic incl. x-ray, labs, surgical, wellness visits, some hospital coverage, generic prescriptions)? I have found a great prescription assistance program for name brand drugs. If you make annual income of $30k or less or $50k for a married couple, go to www.prescriptionhope.org. If they have pharmaceutical companies that carry your drug in their program, you can obtain assistance for $15 per month per prescription. They have been a tremendous help for us.

IGoing through the same thing- been paying for 2 years and not ONE claim has been serviced.. First they needed the letter of cc then they never got it- now they are supposedly seeking info on pre existing conditions. It's all BS. They probably use an abundance of loop holes to keep what they are doing "legal" but there is also a thing called reasonable expectation. We all need to get together and sue their pants off for fraud, defamation, misrepresentation and not upholding their end of the contract.

HOMELAND HEALTH is a LLC. They are alson connected with VITALONE, another LLC provider. They all claim to be hooked up with Blue Cross/Blue Shie;d, Aetna, Cigna, United, etc... . Before I did anything I sent this up to the STATE OF ILLINOIS. I just did a search for State of Illinois Insurance. Right there is a number to call and they will verify if the company is a scam or for real. These companies ride the fence between those 2 dominions/domains. There is a number in your atate you can call to verify if this is true or not. Well, it is true BUT...and the BUT is HUGE. If you are even contemplating this insurance you must all all the companies they claim they have contracts with to make sure those contracts are still valid and in place. Do not believe what they tell you. You must validate that each company they claim is a provider still has a valid contract with this company. The company is an association and offersdiscounts. You have to make sure the contracts they claim are still valid.

Please let me emphasize that VITALONE is also connected to thei HOMELAND HEALTH. But, you woill not find complaints against VITALONE. All the complaints are under Homeleand Health. I also called Markal, teh underwriter of these companies. Markal is for real and licensed in Illinois; but, they know nothing about what these companies do. They can simply tell you that they are the underwriter.

I made VITALONE take me to their plans on line so I had a PDF to print out and fax to the dtaste of Illinois for review. I would never have found this document without this guy showing me how to navigate. I even remember his exact words: "Oh you cannot find it you are on an old webpage." Really! Funny had same addy as he gave me. Anyway, if you look at the plan on paper, every item is capped. Logically speaking 1, 000.00 per day for 10 days of ICU is ...I mean 10 minutes in ICU coasts 10, 000 dollars. Additionally, the DISCLAIMER in the small print on the last page says: "This brochure is not a contract of insurance. The terms and conditions of coverage will be detailed in the Certifi cate of Insurance issued once we receive your acceptance. If there are any differences between the terms and conditions of this brochure and the policy issued to you, the Certificate of Insurance will govern. The Certificate of Insurance is governed by the laws of the state in which it is delivered. Certain terms or provisions may be diff erent if required by the laws of that state.Discount Medical Benefi t Disclosures: This plan is NOT insurance. This discount card program contains a 30 day cancellation period.BEECHSTREET PPO NETWORK" For information on participating providers and discounts please visit www.beechstreet.com.

That DISCLOSURE alone should set off a warning alarm. It sis for me. The most imporant information the IL State Department of Insurance gave me was "if you are considering this plan, you must call every provder: Aetna, BC/BS, CIGNA, UNITED, all of them and make sure they really have contracts in place with this company. Now, logically speaking, if that were true then Cigna would not have quoted me 703.00/month and BC/BS would not have quoted me 836.00/month and that is still with a 5K deductible. They would have pffered me a better deal. So I wish this were true and that one could get insurance coverage for this price. But it is impossible.

Like the man from the State of Illinois said: If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is." I declined all ofers of coverage with these people. Glad I faxed it all to my state office. I am currently unemployed and cannot afford to be ripped off. Hope some of this helps other people out. All you have to do to check on offers that seem to be too good to be true is contact your state insurance office. In my case that was the state of Illinois Department of Insurance.

There is no doubt after reading this info that the first culprit is the sales office of the AHBinsure.com. They are the agents for several healthcare carriers. They are based in FL so you first want to call and write to their Attorney General's office and their Insurance Regulation Dept and complain of this fraud. We all are being misled about the benefits. The only reason I have been working on this is that my background is Casualty ins not Health. After 4 months of paying premium I still don't have a policy or info to get the discounted rates. They do not explain the coverages properly at all and they are very confusing. Next Homeland Insurance is an Administrator so they only put the ins packages together. Contact the AG in TX, Ins Dept and the Consumer Protection Dept. Also contact your own state AG and make a complaint. It is very possible that your AG can sue these companies with other AGs as a multi state legal case for us. email me starr3214@aol.com buy legal ins to help for only 9, 95 a month. they will get your money back if the AG doesn't.

I too am having problems with Homeland! I have not even started my 1st month & when I called to "activate" my account, I talked with a young lady who called herself Tequila, on top of that she had no last name, extension # or identification #! She told me the complete opposite of what the rep who sold me the policy (the rep has a last name, an ID # & an extension # which made it very easy to get in touch with her) had told me! Frightened, I called all parties concerning what is & is not covered. I became so overwhelmed I was in tears! It took only seconds for them to take $414 out of my account but I will have to jump through hurdles to get a refund, if I do! Homeland lied to me from the very 1st conversation! I already dread the next one! Anyway, I called the rep back (the nice lady who sold me the policy) & she explained that Homeland has nothing to do with the policy period, that they are just a supposed customer service & have NO idea of the real policy. Of course when I asked for my refund I was asked if there was a cancellation notice along with my policy, which of course there was not! Something tells me she already knew that though. I called the original rep (in tears) & she told me to just try it, that I still have a free month & my appt. is in a few days. Can anyone tell me just how this is a "free month"? I mean just to sign up was over $400! Where is the free in that? Oh, I am disabled & on a limited income & I am 37 years of age, so why is my monthly premium $289? WOW!

Homeland Health Care Misrepresentation

I spoke to Calos Egea from Americas Health Brokers many times, before purchasing the HOMELAND HEALTH CARE INSURANCE. Carlos Egea assured me that my father Jose Bonilla would be covered up to 70% on all medical treatments he received. He assured me that Homeland Health Care would provide a $50.00 up front fee for the first five visit, and that Beechstreet, who is the provider network would cover the rest of the fees at 70%, leaving my father with only 30% to pay out of pocket.

Money does not come easy, therefore, two of my brothers and I agree to pay for this health insurance together, leaving us each with a $75.00 contribution to pay towards my dads health insurance. We thought this was the best approach, so that my dad could get regular check up and finally determine if he needs to retire, or be on medication.

I paid $294.00 for the initial set up on (7/30/2010). The insurance was effective August 15, 2010. Mean while my dad, who did not have coverage, was suffering from sharp chest pains, but because Americas Health Broker assured us that we would be covered, we waited until the insurance was effective. When we finally went to the doctor on August 16, 2010, I was charged $125.00 for my dads doctors visit, which included only the 50.00 discount and nothing more. The original office visit was 175.00.

Boggled, I called Americas Health Brokers again, they claimed they called the clinic and that everything was taken care over, that the original office visit was $315.00 therefore I had received a significant adjusted price. So, we left it at that and continued scheduling appointments for my father who never several tests done that are common for his age, some which included X-Rays, and ultrasounds for his heart. The clinic verified the insurance numerous times, when calling HomeLand health care, and the answer was always the same he was only covered for a discounted price of $50.00 per office visit. Which is ridiculous, I am paying $219.00 a month to receive a $50.00 discount. (Charged on 9/13/2010)

When speaking to the clinic, they could not verify that the office visit was originally $315.00 they confirmed that the office visit was $175.00 and that I had received a $50.00 discount.

Furthermore, Homeland, pushed me off to Beechstreet, the provider network, the company that is offering the adjusted pricing for doctors in the network. Beechstreet would not give me any information, because I was not the clinic or the doctor. Beechstree confirmed that the doctor my father saw was part of the network, therefore the clinic should use an adjusted fee schedule to charge my dad. The Clinic did not have such document, because Beechstreet had not provided the document when in contract with Homeland. I asked the Beechstreet representative, to give me the adjusted price amount for an Echo CODE 93307, 93320 and 93325, she said, she would not give me this information. I then asked, if I could call her back with the clinic on the line, so that they can give them the pricing, she said If you are on the line, or anywhere where you can hear the conversation, we will not give any of this information to the clinic. So I asked, if they can call the clinic, she replied This is an inbound office, I cannot call out, only receive calls in, the clinic has to call me. The Beechstreet representative then referred me to two doctors at the UT Physicians at Sienna Village, who she claimed were part of the network and accepted Homeland Health care, they had all the information regarding the fee schedules and that I should not have a problem there. However, the same story repeated, when the clinic called, they were given the same information, $50.00 discount for Mr. Jose Bonilla.

This was the last straw for me, my father needed to get his heart checked out, and this health insurance scam was taking my money, and not providing any services what so ever. Neither company wants to take responsibility. Americas Health brokers says, we only sold the insurance, call homeland. Homeland said, we only provide $50.00 discounts, call Beechstreet for adjusted network prices, Beech Street says, We do not speak to patients, we only speak to doctors and clinic business offices because our business contract is with them, not with you. Therefore, I will file a consumer complaint against ALL THREE COMPANIES for NEGLIGENCE and FRAUD.

They said it was 'group insurance' like you'd get through an employer, and that a new group had just become available with a limited number of policies they could add to the group. I'd never heard of a group insurance that paid almost nothing. They said group insurance wasn't major medical, it was BETTER than major medical. She said it didn't have a maximum lifetime benefit like major med, nor the big deductible and copays like major med. They never once said it was "limited benefit insurance". I remember decades ago when major medical didn't cover office visits, it was a hospitalization policy. She IMPLIED this would take care of both. Well, it does pay a SMALL portion for both, but it's almost nothing. And there isn't an exact dollar figure at which coverage ends, it's just they pay so little on anything they pay for that it adds up to a small amount. If it sounds too good to be true...

Prescription drug coverage had to be purchased separately. I had to set up payments and pay an application fee before I could get the fine print, which DID say it was limited benefit insurance. It was certainly more expensive than any limited benefit policy I'd ever seen, and they didn't say it was limited benefit when we were on the telephone. It was almost as much as I'd been paying for COBRA, and more than the military retiree insurance, so I though it was possible for it to be decent insurance..

I was able to verify that the more important of my doctors were on the plan, now I'm disappointed with them that they'd associate with such a plan. But they do end up getting more money total with this insurance than with other PPO insurance, so I understand why they participate.

I feel so stupid.

I will also be filing complaint against this Carlos Egea. Surprised he hasn't changed his name or obtained an alias. This lady is NOT an idiot. You are a jerk who is obviously a part of this scam. I spoke to several at "The US National Health Plan" in which Carlos, David Bishop and a Toby claim to work for. I WILL be filing complaint. When Carlos harassed me this morning with phone calls trying to convince me they were legit his retort to me was: "What if I told you weren't a real nurse? Huh? How about that?" Are we on the playground? LOL These are not professionals. They are scammers.

This lady is a dam idiot...lol...she needs to read what she wrote...first she said the rep told her up to 70%...HINT UP TO:):) not TO 70%..and then if you take ("Jose Bonilla would be covered up to 70% on all medical treatments he received.". He in fact got UP to like she stated just not 70% so the fact of the matter UP TO is accurate...lol...I have been a patient advocate many years and people expect to get something for nothing...she claims she was paying 219 for 50 worth of services but if you take the $50 + the discount that she received she is already even..and the fact of the mater is she is paying for in the event she goes to the hospital not just for doctors visits.

Also it appears that this person JOSE already had heart issue and if he did not have Insurance prior to this welll guess what ?it is called pre existing condition so it would not be covered by ANY Insurance unless it was Cobra or this High Risk pool and for 219 you cant find any coverage for that at all...so why ### lady...the Company did what it said it would do just not what YOU wanted for free.

Homeland sold me the policy with the understanding that it was a limited benefit policy, and not a major medical. They don't deceive in that way, yet there are some cost that the should have covered such as MRI, and surgery. I'm collecting all the evidence that I can about this company, and please send it to: timmygeorge@msn.com

It is impossible to cancel this insurance! I have been trying to cancel this insurance since the end of May because I have picked up Blue Cross & Blue Shield as a provider. Now, I have problems with BC/BS because they are STILL showing Homeland Health Care as a provider. Please, somebody stop the music, I want to get off!!!

Homeland Health Care FRAUD

Two high pressured telephone salesmen sold me a plan that in actuality covered almost none of what they promised that it would. What happened was this: I provided my phone number to some sort of online insurance company broker. Within minutes, I received several calls. Homeland health care was the only company I ended up speaking with. Diana from homeland health care took some basic health information, then asked me what kind of price range would be reasonable to me. I told her I would pay what was necessary to receive a good quality plan that would provide reasonable coverage of typical expenses- doctors visits, surgery, etc. She claimed that what she could do for me is enter my information into a database that would search all of the plans available to me. After claiming to do that, she gave me the description of a plan she found for me. Long story short, she described this plan to provide all of the coverage I could ever need, that is, she made it sound like a decent policy. She also spent a long time convincing me that I wasn't going to find this kind of deal anywhere else. The whole time I was very skeptical with her, repeatedly asking her to describe explicitly what kind of coverage it provided for each type of expense, and she repeatedly convinced me that this plan did fully cover (other than reasonable deductibles) all major medical expenses. She also reassured me by telling me I could cancel this plan at any time, and that I would have thirty days after receiving the paperwork describing the plan to to review, and if I so decided, to cancel the plan with a full refund of the first months premium. Finally, I accepted the plan. Diana explained to me that I would be run through a recorded confirmation, and she instructed me not to ask any questions until after the recording. She also essentially "interpreted" the recording for me, basically making it sound like the words used in the recording are all just technical semantics, and that they indeed did state what she had already described to me- that I would be agreeing to pay for a good quality insurance plan that reasonably covered all major medical expenses, and that I would have thirty days to cancel the policy for a full refund. I told her I had some questions, at which point she transferred me to her smooth talking supervisor Jay, who again reassured me that this plan had all of the features I was looking for. I completed the recording, which consisted basically of stating "yes" after they asked me if Diana had explained x and y to me. The truth was, Diana explained x and y to me, but I later found out that her explanation of "x and y" was in fact nothing but LIES and MISTRUTHS. After completing the recording, the person I was on the line with essentially said thank you and have a good day and hung up. The paperwork describing the plan didn't arrive for over a week. After opening and reading the paperwork, I realized that the plan I was sold was nothing like what I had been promised. I realized that Diana and Jay had deliberately mislead me and outright lied to my face. It wasn't until after I got the plan that I realized what the words "limited benefit" really meant. Diana and Jay had convinced me that limited benefit plans actually provided more comprehensive coverage than a major medical plan. In reality, the "limited benefit" plan I had in front of me covered almost nothing. For example Diana and Jay said that surgeries would be completely covered, but in reality the plan only covered one surgery per year for a maximum coverage of one thousand dollars per year. Needless to say I was upset and frustrated that I had been lied to. I called customer service demanding either answers or a refund, and they gave me neither. I finally ended up speaking with the "supervisor" who also happened to be Jay, the man who originally sold me the policy. He denied the possibility of him or anyone else at the company ever misleading me. He would not take seriously any of my complaints, and insisted that they had been completely honest and straightforward during the conversation. I brought up specific lies that he himself had told me, and he said "I don't know exactly what was said during the conversation, but I do know that we have a recording of you agreeing to the plan and the cost". When I asked for a refund, he told me it was impossible to refund the "non-refundable $75 fee" and that because I hadn't cancelled the plan by the effective date of the policy, I couldn't get a refund for the first months payment. At this point it was obvious Jay was not going to admit any wrongdoing, and that he wasn't willing to give me any refund. I asked to speak with his superior, and he told me he didn't have one. He told me he was the president and director of the company! I said "so the president and director of this company is also an insurance salesman?" and he said "yes, that's right, you're wasting your time, you're not getting a refund, so get off my line!" This conversation took place yesterday, so I'm still unsure of how it will play out. I haven't received any refund or even a confirmation that the plan was canceled. I still have not been able to reach any superior to Jay. In summary, it's now clear to me that homeland healthcare is in the business of ripping people off, and they by no means meet the reasonable persons definition of a fair and trustworthy insurance broker. It is in your own best interest to never trust homeland healthcare, and avoid all dealings with them. They will tell you every lie they need to to get your money.

Don't get conned into buying there discount insurance or you will be very disappointed. If you have any major work needed, surgery, heart attack, stroke, critical care needs or aything else may God help you. You will be so screwed and so unhappy you will owe thousands of dollars to the hospital. Try to file a claim with this company and it is a joke. This is a DISCOUNT PLAN! Nothing more. As long as you know this and decide to buy then you are ok. Please don't get conned bytheir RX plan either. It will pay a very limited amount you need to read your policy. It may pay $200 at the very most if you buy the highest plan. Please, please, please read the fine print before buying and make sure you are not trying to buy health insurance. This will pay dr. visits at most. They say it doesn't matter if the dr. is on their plan. Try to make a claim like this and you will discover disappointment and a lot of money out of pocket. I really have read the entire policy and can't find 1 person who would benefit from this. There agents at the company head quarters are all phone jockeys, they never see the person, they are robots trying to earn their commission and meet quotas. They will tell you the outline to get you to buy. They forget to tell you this isn't real health insurance.

The initial complaint is untrue. Homeland does not provide discount policies, only actual health insurance policies. Is it major medical? No, I'm betting that most of you that post here can't get major medical due to pre-existing conditions. You, are mistaken. It may not be everything you want but to post lies about whether it's insurance or not does not help the people get the coverage they need.

CarmenJ, I'm sorry you had some crappy agent lie to you. Truth be told, there are agents in all aspects of business that will LIE to make their car payment. There is just nothing we can do about it but fire them as they come.

I should have known. I'm glad I found out sooner rather than later before I had to pay a good amount of money to Homeland. I did contact a nice gentleman at Homeland who assisted me and let me know that I wa misinformed and has e-mailed me a cancellation form and will refund my money. NOW to beat the door down of this company abovce to get my "broker" fee back. If you want the bosses number Ian McMillan his office number is [protected]. If you want his home number i'll give you that also. I'm so mad at this but they will get theirs.

Homeland Health Care Unethical agents and misrepresentation of policy

I thoroughly investigated and research this insurance before I purchased a policy in August 2017 for my husband and daughter. In November, i received about $700.00 in lab bills for my daughter. Upon contacting the company, I realized I was paying $120.00 a month since August but my daughter was not covered. After speaking with J. Langston and being informed that a former employee, Ed Turner hadscrewed up my account, I was refunded $600.00, the amount paid for my daughter. In February, my bank account was drafted $219.00 unauthorized and I incurred $108.00 in insufficient fund fees. After speaking with K. West and J. Langston, I did receive my money back but had to close my account so that Homeland Health Care no longer had access to my account information. I consider my self pretty consumer savvy but this company is unethical and unprofessional.

ARGH! i am so fed up with Homeland Health Care. i, too, was fast-talked into agreeing to something that i thought was too good to be true. i desperately needed health insurance and after being turned down 4 times in a row, i thought i had finally found a company that was going to help me out. little did i know or even fathom that the representative would flat out lie about the coverage details. once i got the packet in the mail, i read it over and there was NOTHING that was the same as she told me on the telephone. my coverage was supposed to start on July 1st and i realized just in time that i needed to cancel this. so i sent in my cancellation form by e-mail on June 30th, thinking that was all i needed to do since that's ALL IT SAYS I NEEDED TO DO. i knew i would lose the $75 membership fee, and that was fine because i had agreed to that before. but i JUST found out today that they charged my Visa account $159 for July AND August! this is NOT RIGHT. i did what i was supposed to do and in the correct time and i am still getting punished? i called Visa and the NICE AND PATIENT rep said they were going to change my account number and start flagging these charges and try to get to the bottom of this. don't sit back and take this, y'all. we need to fight and get OUR money back!

Hey,
the more I read these posts the angrier I get! I was lucky when I signed up with Monument Health Care.
The day after signing up I went and canceled my bank account. Something just did not feel right.
My investigation has just been mind blowing. I found 4 companies with different names linked to HHC.
All these websites share on thing in common...No physical address, not found on Hoovers, I am being told
that "Monument Healthcare" linked with HHC has 21 years business experience. I f that were true then why are they not
in Hoovers business directory? Also when you look them up they have a link that takes you right to a website...the yellow pages!
If you call the number you get a recording telling you that they don't accept calls from your number! Then if you look up Monument health care there is a website...it takes you to "Monument Healthcare Professionals" there is a complaint about them on Consumer Affairs ...www.consumeraffairs.com. there is so much more. But I believe in taking these ### down!
File a police report, an ic3 complaint, http://complaint.ic3.gov/ and then the FBI.
I am sorry for these people that are so greedy this does not bother them.
Best Wishes, Robin

I purchased a plan for my wife on 4-10-11. I was quoted a $99.00 enrollment fee and premium of $164.00. When I checked my bank site on Monday, 4-11-11, I found that they had deducted a whopping $749.00 from my account. This caused me to incure overdraft charges from my bank and one from a local business where I had to pick up a check. In short they told me they would be glad to refund my money in 48 hrs after getting a cancellation form, but would not honor the oversdraft charges I incured. does that suck or what?

I'm having trouble figuring out how J. Langston and K. West or the company period is unethical when they refunded your money immediately even over a former employees screw up (Ed's a nice guy, he didn't mean to I'm sure). You complain and get resolution yet you come here to trash the company that made an honest mistake and fixed it in a more than professional timely fashion? That, is unethical of you.

Homeland Health Care Misrepresentation & refusal to refund costs

I too was scammed by Homeland Health Care. I was told that every requirement that I had was covered. I was also told that there would be no "pre-existing conditions". My account was debited $253.95. When I tried to call to cancel, the broker said it was all taken care of and would be cancelled. When I actually insisted on talking to that department. I was told that it could not be cancelled by phone. If I hadn't insisted on talking with them, I would have been duped again.

They are scam artists and misrepresent just to get the initial fee. I am still trying to get my refund, even though I have not used the insurance.

My fiancee signed up with this "insurance" company and has gotten shafted from it. After paying in the neighborhood of $250 for "full coverage", she went to the doctor for some tests and found out that the company will only pay 50 for each test, and they she has to come up with 400 more dollars to pay for them. She cancelled the drs. appointment and insurance immediately, but now homeland won't give her a refund because "She authorized them to take the payment out of her account before she cancelled the policy". She "authorized" it on the 19th, cancelled on the 20th, and they didn't take it out until the 22nd. She's spent the past three days trying to call them back, for at least some sort of compromise, and they keep giving her the run around. Either they intentionally hang up on her, or tell her the supervisor is out of the office, or just play the dumb game and pretend they don't know what's going on. So far the only good news is that she is a persistent fart and won't give up until she gets her money back. Lesson learned, study before you jump into something that sounds too good to be true.

I too was scamed by Homeland Health Care, I had the policy 9 months, finally had to use it and when the bills started to arrive I was informed that I need to present proof that I had insurance within 6 months of signing up with them. I did provide the proof of insurance the next day I received a call that stated they had mis-informed me and it was within 60 days and none of my medical expenses would be covered. Because of this I now owed 30, 000.00. I knew their policy was limited but I didn't think I would be responsible for all the costs I pay them the higher premium rate of $350.00 was to have their policy with better cover.
I am filing suit in Texas with the insurance commisioner and in MS where I had the medical bills incurred.

Homeland Health Care Taking money from my bank account without permission

I called Homeland Health Care for health insurance a very fast talking agent described a policy that sounded perfect for me.

He asked for my card number in order to send me a copy of the policy to read over. As we were finishing our talk he said to me " oh yes by the way this will not cover pre-existing conditions".

At that point I said stop right there this will not work for me, I am disabled and I need something that covers pre-existing conditions.

He said he wanted me to talk with another agent that might be able to help me, I told him that I had to leave and would have to call back when I had time, but to forget the other policy because there is no way it would work for me.

Later that night I checked my bank account and within 20 mins of our conversation they had deducted $184.00 from my bank account without my authorization.

I have been calling everyday and faxing them and they will not return my calls or my money.

As far as I am concerned they stole my money from me, please never call this money.

They should thank God that I live in Michigan and am not in Texas where I could address them in person.

I just had the same thing happen to me! This company completely scammed me and took money out of my account a month before they were to do so.
Now I am being paid lip service and nothing is happening to get my money back. I am being placed on hold for long periods of time, and forget speaking
to the person that I spoke to originally! I am going to contact the Attorney General, the better business bureau and an attorney! I do hope that we can get
this company to go DOWN FOR GOOD!

I will let you and everyone else know. As for being ripped off, I can understand how you feel. Fortunately, I don't stop at 1 insurance comp. I keep backups just in case. This morning, I E-mailed another agent (to another company) & he brought this website to my attention. Home Land Health Care didn't have a chance with me. After I got off the phone with him (during lunch) I went to the bank putting a stop transaction on my fiances account so neither of us could be ripped off. When I called them about this, the agent I spoke to yesterday switched me to customer service saying my fiances insurance had already been processed and the package was on the way. Since all I could get was music, I hung up, went to the bank & stopped transaction on my fiances account so they couldn't get anything. I also checked it 3 hours later to be sure. THEY GOT NOTHING! !
I suggest to everyone out there, past & present (especially if you still have the information on who you dealt with & even if you don't) > go online to the Attorney General of your state. For each state they have a complaint dept. strictly for something like this.
1) Log in to your state. If you can't find it, Google. You should be able to go from there. 2) Go to consumer protections 3) look for the on-line complaint form 4) pull it up filling it out. If you still have any E-mails from who you dealt with attach them to your form after you subit it to the AG (even the complaints everyone has filed). Personally, I have already sent 2 attachments. Both of them are of this site & the complaints filed against this "so-called" agency. I don't care when it was you got ripped off or if you feel your being ripped off, file a complaint. All they want is the information, what happened, who you dealt with & the transactions that took place if any. Any information you can give to your states AG > DO SO & we all will be able to close this "so-called" agency DOWN FOR GOOD. The more complaints the AG receives, the better the response. Good luck everyone! !

I would not even call this a insurance company. They have third party brokers selling for them and when you need help the seller is not available. The company sold a policy to me for my son without ever speaking to him. I paid for it with my credit card. So the only person that ever was dealt with was myself but when it came time to cancel it I couldn't because of hippo. I want to know wasn't the hippo law violated when they took my son's personal information without talking with him. He wasn't involved in the process at all.

I was quoted one things on the phone, and received a load of crap for coverage in the mail. It didn't seem odd to me until then that after I asked CINDY more than once to email me an outline of the various insurance levels and their benefits, she still failed to do so. And then it was also off that they did a voice recording of the date and time and my name and saying that I agreed to the plan that had been decribed to me for such and such amount. But not once did they mention those specific "benefits" enter into the recording. Fortunately I realized this bull, confronted CINDY and the owner of the company (whose name I don't know), and was able to send in my cancellation for a full refund within the required time period.

The number to this particular office is [protected]

There are words that I cannot say within a post like this to describe Cindy, but basically she said what she needed to say to get her sale, make her commission, and when I called angry that what I'd been offered isn't what I was getting...she claimed she would NEVER quote those things to someone. Well, ya know what honey, you did, you have, and you're a dirty little liar. To put it nicely. And while things are often misunderstood, it's kinda of odd for them to be misunderstood as many times as I asked her to verify every little detail before signing up (I asked 2 or 3 times to go over it) AND wrote it down. Dirty company, dirty owner, dirty sales people.

I signed up for a policy with Markel Ins co. and had second thoughts less than 12 hours later I called the agent to cancle and he sent me a cancleation form that had Homeland insurance letter head. Am I screwed as well? I signed up with Markel for coverage on gastric sleeve surgery and was told I would save aprox $8, 000 on a $ 15, 00o0 cash only charge that the Dr was offering.

So far I have submitted three claims to Homeland Health that has not yet been paid . I called to inquire and they sent me an questionire to fill out and said once the questionire is recieved they would process the claims. I am currently waiting to see the outcome of this process. I have been refused services foor exams once I presented the Id card from homeland health because the said that they have had billing problems from homeland and that they no longer accept their plan even though these physicians are listed in the beechstreet network.

Homeland Health Care Fraud/misrepresentation

I too was scammed by Homeland Health Care by a fast talking Joe Rizzo. Joe totally misrepresented Homeland Health Care health insurance in the same way as the scammed senior who filed a complaint on Jan. 29, 2009. You are also told to get a refund on your enrollment fee(mine was $75.00 I guess they just decide what they want to charge you for this enrollment fee) you must call back the same day you apply to get your money back. What they fail to tell you is that you will not reach anyone because all mailboxes are full on their voicemail and their is no other way to reach anyone since the customer service number is on the paper work you are to be receiving in the mail. I was also told that after talking to Joe that I would be talking to a man named sergio who would be recording my conservation. I was also instructed not to ask him questions because he would have to start everything over and that Joe would call me back to answer any questions that I might have. Of course I haven't heard from him yet. That was on Feb. 5 and today is Feb. 11. I have called customer service numerous times and talked to Jeremy. The first time I explained the situation to Jeremy he pointed out the misrepresentations that had been made by Joe to me. since then he has turned this all around to be my fault instead of Joe's whom lied about the coverages to start with. I have since called 4 times and left messages for Jeremy to call me back and he hasn't called back yet. I called Jeremy back today and was given another run around and was told he would call me back in 5 to 10 minutes. That was 31/2 hours ago. I've since tried to call back several times only to get a recording. This company has a D rating with the Better Business Bureau and has had numerous complaints filed against them. This is a supplemental insurance which they fail to tell you and you are also told that if you were to enter the hospital on the same day that your insurance starts it would be covered 100%. While sergio is recording your conversation he throws in that you are not covered for 1 year on pre-existing conditions and 30 days for everything else. I didn't say anything while the recording was going on as instructed and waited for the call from Joe to question this since he had told me something different but of course he never called me back. I guess with the practice of taking everyone's enrollment fee it doesn't matter if they sell any insurance they can just take your hard earned money and run with it! Apparently you people are not of any faith or you couldn't do this to people especially elderly people on a fixed income. I'm sure God is smiling down on you now for screwing people out of what is rightfully their's. You know what they say, what goes around comes around so when you see yourselves struggling in these hard times maybe that phrase will be going through your head.

ripped off by homeland healthcare

Dec 10, 2013 3:18 pm EST

I purchased insurance through homeland healthcare and was promised that after the birth of my newborn the hospital stay would be covered. It was not I was told many things that turned out to be untruths. When I said I wanted a refund since I never even used it they denied me . I called several times asking to make sure he would be covered and was repeatedly told yes . Homeland healthcare are liars and scan artist. I'm calling the better business bureau on them. And I'm also going to seek out an attorney to sue them . I feel ripped off. Oh and on another note after I canceled, on the same date that they would have normally taking out the payment for" said " insurance we somehow acquired many fraudulent attempts to use the credit card that we had giving them. Some we in new Mexico and some in Australia. I live in Missouri and have never been to either place. Beware of this watch your bank account carefully. My bank caught it and they are investigating, I hope they get caught. I'm feeling very angry, ripped off and disgusted . This is not over .

It seems like all that was sold to the people where a indemnity plans. Beach street insurance is a good company that used to offer health insurance plans but no longer do. There are different types of insurance plans out there. Yeah there are also a lot of people out there that will just sell you anything anyway possible. I work in this field myself and with pregnancies I tell them they just won't be covered. I don't lie, I don't mislead, I tell the truth and it has cost me sales because people will then be contacted by salesperson that just tell the client what they want to hear and don't have their best interest at heart. But the bottom line is when you do speak with someone don't do it over the phone, meet in person. Also health insurance isn't cheap so if someone offers you a plan that is cheap and your in your 30's or 40's don't take it. Unless your in your early 20's a good plan isn't 50 or 100 bucks a month, and even then still might not be. Last thing is too ask questions. I meet with my clients and I have them ask questions, if you don't ask then you don't know, and if you don't know just say so. Can't help if the problem isn't brought forward. Just be cautious of who you speak too really and avoid signing up with someone who isn't local, they might have real insurance plans but just not be covered where you live.

I too have been scammed to the tune of $2, 793.00 in premiums since Feb 2012 when I could no longer afford COBRA premiums. The agent failed to explain the limitations of my medical plan and how to use it. I was not aware that Homeland Healthcare was a limited benefits plan and all the hoops I would have to jump through in order to cover the costs of a wellness visit to my PCP. I am facing a bill of $533.00 from LabCorp for routine tests which Homeland Healthcare has failed to respond to paying. I will look into trying to get LabCorp to provide a discounted rate for the blood tests. The insurance agent failed to tell me that I had to contact MyMedLab.com for laboratory testing which could have saved me money. I have a very limited discount on Rx. I received a letter stating that my premiums were going to increase next month from $449.00 to $470.00. I decided I had enough of exorbitant premiums for little or no coverage. Fortunately, divine Intervention occurred when a woman named Diane Anderson an agent representing Pacific Benefits Group, enlightened me. She assisted me in obtaining greater coverage overall with another company. Diane took the time to explain what types of insurance are available that would suit my needs. I am grateful to her for opening my eyes to the scams out there. Diane can be reached at [protected] ext. 125. I recommend consulting Diane for your insurance needs. She has honesty and integrity and can sleep at night knowing she has helped someone like me. As for the rest of my plight... the plot thickens. I await response from my state insurance commissioner as well as the FTC. I do my best fighting from the ground up...no one should be taken advantage of in this way...

Please file a formal complaint to your state insurance department. Many States can take actions against insurance agents and agency who are misrepresenting insurance products. The insurance company that underwrites these products are liable for the misrepresentation or acts of these agents and agency.

Remeber to include the agent names in your complaint. This will help the state insurance department to track these agents and ultimately terminate their insurance license and possible a forfeiture. Some states may be able to force a shut down of an agency such as Homeland Healthcare. This agency has been shut down in some states. Homeland Healthcare is not an insurance company, it is an agency acting on behalf of many insurance companys.

I dropped this company. They hardly paid RX, if at all. They say that they cover 5 doctor visits a year as part of your monthly insurance payment. My doctor bills via the hospital medical group and they bill as 'outpatient' so my $200 visit left me with a bill of $150 I had to cover. I explained that it was my regular doctor but they stiffed me. Also look at what they pay for a days hospital stay its pennies on the dollar, same with x-rays, lab, etc. Surgery fees, forget it...nothing.
I dropped them... its cheaper to have no insurance then to pay them monthly for no help.
I will more than likely contact the Insurance commissioner and file my thoughts.

By far this is the worst insurance company I have ever seen. Thankfully my family is changing to another medical insurance company next month.

This company is based out of Texas. Be VERY careful doing business with any company in Texas as bad companies have been springing up all over Texas for the past several years. They have little or no regulation on business which makes it easy for scam companies to operate out of Texas.

Homeland Health Care SCAM

The company does not refund monies "without penalty" as stated by their salespersons. They tell you that they sell a helath insurance policy that covers 100% of hospital costs. They fail to tell you that this is 100% of THEIR CODED VALUE! For example they cover a grand total of $790 for a heart transplant, $730 for a fusion of the spine, $490 for extensive thyroid surgery, etc. They also fail to tell you that you can review the policy on their website. The salemen fast talk you into paying the first month and application fee upfront. They then send you the policy for review. They clearly stated that if the policy was not acceptable, you can cancel before the effective date "without penalty". They do not keep their word! They keep the $150 application fee. They apparently make their money by keeping application fees since their policy is a JOKE!

DO NOT PURCHASE insurance from HOMELAND HEALTH CARE 2435 North Central Expressway Suite 100 in Richardson, Texas 75080.

this company is a complete scam. the first month premium isnt refundable and they tell you they payy 100 percent of a surgery. THEY ARE LIARS. I was fooled by the smooth talking phone salesman to buy this plan that was better then a major medical. I know that I dont qualify for a major medical beceause of my pre existing conditions but he told me that this was bette. Dont get me wrong I now have a legimate policy with health option one but he still was not up front with me. they pay a grand total of 795 for an open heart surgery and they are not a HIPPA compliant company so my certificate of credible coverage was no good. they lied and misled me to believe that I was recieving good coverage. DONT BUY HOMELAND HEALTH CARE. (health option one is a great plan for those who have pre existing conditions like myself)

Homeland Healthcare is NOT an insurance company.
They are a third party administrator for the companies who have these limited benefit insurance plans.
My anger and frustration comes in with both parties - the agents selling the plans as if they ARE major medical, or even over-promising what the plans will do. And the consumer, NOT doing their due-diligence - meaning reading the materials provided (online or printed and mailed to them).
Yes the saying is still true, if it sounds too good, then it probably is.
Just know, each of the plans do have websites to check.
Do NOT fall for the line, before I send you something i need your credit card/payment info. Push back on the agent, this is your money, your medical plan, your life we are talking about and trying to maintain in the midst of trying to keep getting the healthcare and prescriptions you need.
When searching for healthcare, you need to consider your budget, your healthcare needs.
Most major medical plans (if they even accept you) will rate you up based on age, medical issues, and prescription you are taking.
I'd suggest you understand your options before signing up with anyone for health insurance, even with the new healthcare act that is due to take place.
And do not swear insurances are going to give you any plan you want because of the Obamacare.
Some of the large insurance companies are also creating limited benefit plans just for individuals who do not qualify for major medical plans.

Again, do your due diligence, ask the name of the plan, do a google/bing search.
Stop getting angry and pissy with the agents who do tell you the truth, and keep your guard up against the silver tongued agents who make the plans sound too wonderful.

I live in Missouri and on 3-21-12 I too bought this insurance after filling out a form online to a series of health care providers. My insurance through UnitedHealthcare was increasing to almost $600 a month so I was in the market for a new company. Having a pre-existing condition it is almost impossible to find a company who will take me. This company called me and said there was NO deductibles, and my rate would be $399.00 a month and a $99.00 application fee. I spoke with Bobby Grubbs at [protected] ext 243 and he said he had this insurance and it covered EVERYTHING! Then he transfered me to Barbie Young who state she was licensed to sell insurance in Missouri. She talked fast, recorded my information, and promised everything would be covered. We set everything up to take effect 4-15-12 but she drained my checking account and overdrafted the account after we hung up. I've contacted them and their rep just promised I should have my money back by Monday (4-2-12) as it will take a week to process my cancellation. We will see.

I won't let this go. I will stalk the Attorney General's office in Missouri if I have to AND the Missouri Insurance Commission. My complaint letters to them are as good as mailed if I don't have my money back by 4-2-12 as promised.

These people need to be in jail. They are common criminals.

The only scam here is how some "brokers" sell this product. The policy does exactly what it says it does & is a very good fit for many people. I sell this product & I explain quite clearly how it works, what it provides and what it doesn't provide. None of my clients have complained about the product because they fully understood what they were purchasing before they purchased it and they knew what to expect. It is NOT major medical insurance, as is stated in the verification process, and no ethical agent would ever 1) represent it as such or 2) take someone off major medical & put them on an indemnity policy.

This type of coverage is a good fit for some people who are simply uninsurable. It is not a discount card...there is an actual benefit paid to providers. If you use in-network providers you get a pre-negotiated rate and in addition a benefit will also be paid to the provider. Pre-existing conditions do have a waiting period, but if you have an RX benefit, meds for pre-existing conditions have coverage from day one. You also receive other benefits like "consult-a-doctor" for unlimited consultations with US based, board certified doctors. And you can use that benefit for anyone in your family, not just the policy holder. Compass helps you to compare providers & the price of procedures so you can get the most for your money. Mymedlabs is a very inexpensive way to have lab work done. There are a whole host of other benefits as well, but this isn't coverage for everybody...it fits a very specific type of person.

As with anything, if it sounds too good to be true you should run. This is not coverage that is too good to be true. As a licensed agent I present it as basic insurance coverage for individuals who simply cannot get major medical coverage. I fully explain all the benefits, including what's covered and the amount of the benefit. That's why I am not receiving complaints about the product. I do it right. Don't be mad at the insurance company because you were scammed. Be mad at yourself for allowing it to happen & vow to never, ever let it happen to you again.

Closed our doors after 30 years in business. Thought I would have 2 years Cobra coverage...not!...when you close a business you are no longer cobra effective...I have a pre-existing condition ( heart stent 9 years ago), so needless to say I have been refused coverage...sad day, we have been an employer for 30 years and provided healthcare coverage to our employees and their dependents at no cost to them...now this new America has basically given me a death sentence...no health coverage means no meds... shame on America and our Congress for allowing the attorneys and insurance industry run this country...

Sorry folks, this is not a scam company. The fact is that you can't get coverage from another company because you're sick right? Well this commpany WILL insure you along with a few other companies. This is NOT credible coverage and you got tricked into buying something from someone who lied to you. It's your fault for not doing your due dilligence. This is a good company and they have been in business for some time and are working with good underwriting companies. Do you think that those underwriting companies would work with them if they scammed people? Of course not. I am an agent who sells this product to to my clients who are not able to qualify for Major Medical insurance. It's the last resort for them to get some type of coverage benefits. There's a whole host of other things that comes with the memebership. I am sorry that you all feel that you got scammed into something that wasn't explained properly to you and I'm sorry there are ### out there that are doing this. I used to work with them and it sickens me to know that there are some real nasty people making a crap load of money at the expense of sick people. I think it sucks and it pisses me off to no end. My advice to you all is to scrutinize the crap out of the people that call you and ask them if they have a license to do this and ask them to send it you. If they hang up, you got their number. As a licensed agent I have to abide by the rules or I can go to jail and I don't want to go to jail for $100 bucks. I hope this helps. If you want to talk to the right person please call me and I'll help you.

God Bless,

I wish I had found this page back in December of last year. I have paid ou $1500 over five months and got very little in return. On my perscriptions I would get $10 paid from Homeland for a $120 perscription. On my Doctor visits, they paid nothing at all. Now I owe two different Doctors over $800.

This company is a fraud and should be shut down. We are all looking for a good health coverage and it seems like there is always someone out there to scam on you.

I have to say I'm surprised there are so many complaints about this insurance. I have it as I'm diabetic and was turned down by every major medical. Only other insurance company that would give me a policy had webmd as my primary!.. At least with this company I do get a discounted rate on my doctors visits and meds, which is what I wanted and have gotten for only 239 a month and no deductibles. Major medical would be 2x as much and probably a 5000 deductible. I suggest asking questions b4 giving your credit card info, I did and was told the truth on every question. And the man I delt with even said if you have major medical and can afford it I would never talk you out of it. Plain and simple it's not the best insurance out there, but I researched for 2 months and this was by far the best option. Sometimes you gotta realize you get what u pay for, if you sign a policy for 139 a month then go to the hospital 1 month later, how much coverage do you really except to get?.. Until healthcare reform kicks in insurance is a major business, not a charity.
