I purchased a low voltage transformer for $40.32 five years ago to replace one that wasn't working properly. After tinkering around with the old,it started to work. Rather then bring back the new transformer to the Depot for a refund I kept it as a spare. The original finally went out and I replaced it. The "new" one was defective and useless. Home Depot wouldn't take it for exchange because of its age. The unit was in the original box, pristine and I had the original receipt. It was obvious to management that it was never used. The excuse that it was "old" doesn't "fly" with me and I don't believe it to be a reason to reject my claim..

Home Depot in Pontiac and Farmington Hills, MI these two stores are probably the most poorest (customer service) staffed stores. These individual has the least knowledge of their own service offerings and products on their store shelf where they provide inaccurate and misleading information. When asked to the store general manager somehow they never bother to get back in touch. These kind of issues needs to be taken to the state AGs office.

They charged me $22.00 "Late Charge" on a "No interest - no payment" item (expires 7/10) because they made a mistake on my bill. I have spent a lot of money there, and plan to build a garage and screened porch, but now will never step foot in HD again. Lowes is almost next door.

On Wednesday March 3rd I visited the Home Depost on Pickett Road in Fairfax City. The customer service I got just stunk. No one was in any of the dept. I needed to be in. When I did get someone to help they did not know what I was talking about. All I needed was a plug in electric light for a out sidebulb..I bought it the next day at Lowes.

Home Depot support has crashed my computer twice (two out of three scheduled services). I would never recommend their tech support to anyone. My brand new HP computer is unusable, especially since I didn't get any restoration software with it when they sold it to me. You stopped me from starting my online business!

sorry, the complaint is for HOME DEPOT and not Jose Fernandez Inc.

HOME Depot in Bakersfield was of no help in trying to help me find a replacement Hose for the Husky 3000 psi.

The Nashville Gay Pride website notes that Home Depot contributed more than $5, 000 to help finance the 2009 festival. The retailer also participated by conducting children's craft workshops at a special booth set up for them. The company has sponsored similar children's venues at pro-homosexual events in Atlanta, Kansas City, Durham, Portland, and San Diego.NO MORE SHOPPING AT HOME DEPOT FOR ME AND MY FAMILY...

You would think with economy as it is and the many companies going out of business that they would appreciate their customers, this screwed up company called HOMEDEPOT put my APR from 22% to 26% after me asking to please lower it, instead they raised it. My husband called and they lowered his, but refused to lower mine.

I shop at the Ammon, Idaho Wal Mart store at three times a week. I spend hundreds of dollars in there. For the past 2 months the milk and dairy products have been spoiled. The meat has also been spoiled. The frozen food selection has been down to nothing to choose from, and alot of shelves are empty. I hate to go somewhere else when the store is so close and the work personal are so friendly, but I can not afford to keep throwing food away.

I paid my bill in full my due date was may 3rd 2009. The money was posted april 30th 2009. They sent me a bill for 29.76 for a finance charge. I did call them and they tryed to say that the bill was for reaccruded finance charges. The reason was not lagit. The manager said he would credit the finance charge but I still think they were just trying to see if they could get extra cash from me.

I went on line and the products they advertise are not what they sell! The stores tell me different product is sold. here is what the site address i was looking at if you want to check this out and call the store. They will tell you that that is not sold anymore.

The sales add that was sent out in Sunday's paper shows and states Special Buy $1098 before discount LG 4.3 cub washer and 7.3 cub Steam Dryer! We called to verify the amount and they are saying it is $1098 each, however, the add does not state anything about them being sold separately!

I am aware of some practices employed by Home Depot used in pricing roofing and siding jobs. To me it appears that customers are sometimes paying for things they are not receiving. If other employees feel the same let's compare notes. I am not certain of this but I would like to look into it further.

The Home Depot uses unethical sales practices. Throughout the 'black friday' sales event, there were no appliance packages available. Nor on Monday. Tuesday, every item was available at the higher prices.

I was a dedicated Home Depot shopper until now.

I was supposed to get a $500 rebate from The Home Depot for a kitchen remodel. It has been now 120 days since the rebate has been submitted. This time is unacceptable. They keep saying the rebate company went out of business. Time frame is unacceptable.

Home depot is bull! My husband does construction and very few are small projects. He has an lar account at lowes that gives him a crad to add money to and when he buys something gets an automatic 5% of his purchase but 90% of the time he deals with home depot because he can get the same things cheaper and when ordering custom products hd always has the best prices and sometimes if he just has no option but to buy materials at hd because it's closer to the job site. Well with that said I will also say he spends thousands of dollars at hd and makes purchases on a daily basis and he has a bit of ocd and is very bad about over buying things to be sure he has enough or just in case he needs extra but he is also bad about losing receipts especially when he is in a hurry. I have made files and envelopes and special places in his truck just for receipts but he has a bad habit of sticking them in his back pocket or the door of his truck where they always seem to disappear or get washed. Oh and since hd don't have lar accounts or an account where you scan your card when you make a purchase that automatically records your purchases in case of losing your receipt like the my lowes card he usually pays cash especially after their recent hacker event and knowing that hd doesn't have a good enough system to protect its customers debit/credit cards. Well i have made a couple of returns because I make purchases for him sometimes when I go to work with him or if he don't want to leave the job he sends me and those couple of times I have never had a problem. Well one day we went to make a return and from the beginning the cs rep was like oh I need an approval from the manager so we stand and wait and wait and wait and finally not only the manager comes up but another guy too that I guess was from the plumbing dept. But looked like a weight lifting adrenaline junky trying to be police detective /security guy with a very ugly attitude. Well they looked at the stuff and said I'm sorry we cannot return these things so my husband asked why and he said we just can't. So my husband said tell me why I just bought these things and the detective/plumbing guys who did most of the talking not the manager asked where did you buy these things and my husband said hd of course at this store but maybe a couple at the store in the town we live in because sometimes I stop there on my way to work because it's on my way and they tell him well I'm sorry but you need to return those to that store and we were like what no way am I gonna go there just for a couple small things that you guys carry too. Well the manager finally said ok i will return these three things but that's it because we don't return these copper couplings which were in the unopened original plastic bags they come in, in pefect condition and when my husband asked why he said because they don't return anything that's copper. Well when I called him out on it and said I know you'relying because i have returned the exact same copper couplings before because they come in bags of 10 and when he's doing plumbing he always buys extra just in case something happens and he needs them. Well i said you know what forget it i will just take my stuff and call corporate because we are very honest good people who spend thousands of dollars at hd all the time and yet are being yelled at in front of other customers and treated like criminals and we are not asking for the world or even cash because store credit is fine because he always needs materials. Well finally my husband was like hey man don't be rude to my wife and talk to her that way you have no right and finally Mr body builder walked away and the manager said ok I will do it this time but that's it well about a week later my husband bought a new tool belt from the store credit he had because his had broken. Well the next day he came home and said he couldn't use it for what reason I don't remember but he didn't use it and it still had all the tags and he had the receipt so he took it back and they said I'm sorry sir we cannot return anything for you with or without a receipt because your id is blocked and he was like wth why and she said because you have returned too many times without a receipt but he never had before just that one time with the bad manager and body builder. So what does that tell me? We were judged from the moment we went to cs that day and have no idea why and because we stood up and said hey why are you doing this and made a couple people mad so a loyal customer who spends so much money in their store everyday gets blocked and labeled or maybe it was racism because my husband and i are different races and so was the cashier who had no logical reason for even calling the manager and their body builder to insult us. We have never ever been treated so unfairly from anyone like this before and they are so lucky I have health problems now and don't want to stress myself more over this and call a lawyer. And my husband is now once again doing all of his business with lowes where they don't mind having customer incentives and great things like the lar account and my lowes card for people like my husband who tend to lose their receipts. Maybe if hd would stop being so cheap and lazy and follow lowes they might gain a few more customers instead of losing them.

I fell into a hole on Home Depot property while looking at trees. Twelve months before, I had both my knees replaced. I was still healing when I fell into this hole and landed on my knees. I had an incident report filld out by the manager and then received a call from the insurance company for Home Depot. The first man I spoke with, said "someone would pay". He was right. I PAID. Neither Home Depot, their insurance company, their landscaping company, nor the insurance company for the landscaping company would take responsibility. According to everybody "you have a pre-existing condition". Of course I had a pre-existing condition. I would not have suffered any pain or set back in therapy if my knees weren't new! I have lost all respect for Home Depot, especially since they never display trees on the grass anymore. Just look around. You will see everything on the concrete. They knew they were at fault. They knew they should have paid for my treatment. But they chose to blame it on me. Typical corporation, typical insurance company.

In the age of the internet, look it up. You can not really expect an employee to know everything about every product they sell. it is impossible to know.

First it is in home depot's best interest to give you a store credit fact is when a person go's to use the credit 82.5 % the customer match's the credit with cash they want you back in there store. @ The Return Company Results is Bottom Line . And as far as store policy HOME DEPOT is by far one of the best that is why they are who they are A Class Act.

Hello Ermakov,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience at our store. I'd like to let the store manager know what you experienced there as we are always looking for ways of improving customer service in our stores. I'm having a hard time identifying exactly which store you were in. Would you mind sending an email to me at daniel_care@homedepot.com with more information to include the state? We have a Pickett Street store #4603 in Alexandria, VA. Is that the one?

Glad you were able to find what you were looking for even if it was with our competitor.

Hello Glenzzo,

Sorry for the trouble. As Home Depot is not a banking institution, The Home Depot credit card is actually owned and managed by CitiBank. We do not have access into their systems, however, I do have an escalation path I can utilize as an advocate for our customers.

Please email me at daniel_care@homedepot.com with your name, address, phone number, and the last four digits of your card along with any further information you would like to add. In the mean time, I have submitted a complaint on your behalf against CitiBank in our internal system that we use to track customer concerns.

I work at Home Depot and people need to learn we offer refunds as a service to customers we have the right to deny any refund. I truly believe that Home Depot has one of the most lax returns policy.

I work at home depot at the service desk and I've seen a lot of returns in my day.
The reason they can't take it back isn't just because it's "old, " it doesn't matter if it's used or not. If something was bought that long ago, there is no way they can return it if it has been zeroed out of the system. They might not carry it anymore, therefore making it impossible to take it out of the inevntory for a return..People try to return things that are not of file all the time, and we usually have to tell them "no" if the item they bought has exceeded the 30day or 90 day period.

It does say in large font on every receipt that the Home Depot has the right to limit or deny returns and that the policy is 30days or 90days depending on the store. A lot of stores have stricter policies, in comparison, Home Depot is pretty lax, because we do allow returns without a recipet for store credit if the item is found to still be listed in inventory (aka the item is still on file and hasn't been discontinued)

I went to purchase a new maytag dishwasher at my local HD in Danvers Massachusetts,The salesman seemed knowledgable and was a gentleman.
I was surprised to hear that HD did not stock appliances there, but would set up delivery to which I would be charegs and then be elidgable through a rebate to get my delivery money back after filling out the forms. There was a great emphasis put on the condition of the unit when delivered and much written info on this issue as well,I was also informed that I could negotiate a "Deal" with the delivery truck should the product come damaged.Well in fact the unit was in pieces and the driver asked me if he could open the packing on the truck which surprised me.He said it would be easier. The front control unit was hanging off and cracked.I am still waiting to have my purchase refunded after three weeks and I must say that I went to Lowes and bought another dishwasher and was afforded the opurtunity to inspect on site to make sure it was in perfect condition, which it was.
I must wonder ,but not accuse HD of having a system of getting rid of damaged appliance where so much emphasis was put on the condition of the unit and the abilty of negotiaing a "Deal" with the driver ?
I would definealty not reccomend shopping this way.
