Submitted claim #[protected] 11-25-17 with a due date of 11-28. Service never called and missed the appointment. I contacted the service dept three times and never received a call back to reschedule. Asurion then changed my service center and gave me a new tentative due date. I did receive a call from them stating they could not make the tentative due date and the earliest appointment they could keep is 12-21-17. I have spoken with two Asurion supervisors who stated they could not expedite the request. It seems they have no influence over their third party contractors. It seems Home Depot take no responsibility for the performance of the contracted (Asurion) service provider. It is reasonable to expect that when home Depot sells a service contract using the Home depot name they are responsible to the customer.

Worst service from Asurion. Opened claim in May and still waiting for reimbursement for a GE washer that exploded. They finally said I was approved for reimbursement 6/28/2023 and would receive it with in 24-72 hours. Well it’s now 7/11/2023 and still no email. Once again they said it would be emailed with in 24 hours. I’m the meantime I’m stuck running back and forth shelling out money at the laundromat. Every time they escalate and nothing ever happens. Not to mention the delays getting the tech out and then hearing nothing from them. I really hope they come through on their agreement.

I purchased an Whirlpool French Door Refrigerator on 11-27-2019. Paid cash and also purchased the extended warranty for 5 years. Have had no problem until [protected] & all of my food in the refrigerator is freezing my food. 28 degrees. I have filed as claim with Asurion. You are all correct. They are JOKE. what idiots they are. If you piss them off the will close you claim & actually cannot tell you why. I have called them so many times and get no where. The soonest appointment they can give me is 3 weeks and then no idea on how long parts would be. I called Whirlpool direct and yet another JOKE... The refer me back to Asurion. OMG... Well I am now dealing with Home Depot in my area direct. We will see what that goes from here.

Asurion Is a joke and HD needs to replace them. been a long-time customer and like HD. The warranty that we bought seems to be worthless. Can't get anyone at All State to speak to us.

It looks like there are a lot of customers who feel the same way.

The worst preventative maintenance reimbursement ever, I swear they made this so unuserfriendly and time consuming that you just give up. Dont bother with this rediculous overpriced "warranty" as it is a joke.

Asurion is the absolute worst. I bought a very expensive built in refrigerator from Home Depot and naturally bought their extended warranty to protect it. After 2 1/2 years, the door to the ice dispenser wouldn’t close so I called for service. The tech who came to service the unit seemed to know less about how to repair the unit than I did. After two visits and a new motor for the flap door and a new board and a month, tech advises a new entire freezer door is needed. Six months of calls and still no door. I get Asurion to admit that repair has taken too long and a refund of the refrigerator price is approved. That was over a month ago. After following their instructions to get the funds sent to my bank via ACH, five calls have gotten me nothing but an “escalation”, lip service and promises to get a call back in 24-48 with a definitive answer which never get fulfilled. At this point, I’m starting to realize that I got scammed. And from reading on this forum, I starting to see that Home Depot doesn’t care.

60 days and counting as of Nov 17 2022. Multiple calls to Asurion getting getting us no where, calls to Home Depot don’t help either.

Home Depot needs to step up and take responsibility for the performance of the contracted (Asurion) service provider. It is reasonable to expect that when home Depot sells a service contract using the Home depot name they are responsible to the customer. GE WASHER still not fixed 60Days AND COUNTING

HOME DEPOT DO THE RIGHT THING. Asurion is useless. HELP US. Please

A small plastic piece, or possibly pieces, that keeps a wheel on the upper tray of our dishwasher broke. We didn't have the warranty printed so it appeared we didn't get one. We called Whirlpool directly, who could send someone out in 10 days, for $150, they would have to determine which parts are broken, order those parts, then come out again for another $150, plus the parts. Without seeing what happened, they even said the whole upper tray may have to be replaced ($318 on a parts site for that). They said it can get expensive quickly, so they suggested to find out if we actually had a warranty. I did some research and found that we did purchase the extended warranty, so that was a relief...or so I thought. It was a nightmare getting through the Home Depot phone tree, I even gave up and finally found where to submit a claim online...where they still ask you to call in to a dead number to make sure you REALLY need a technician to come out. I finally get to a human being, and we use my smart phone to take 3 pictures of it, and the phone operator sends it to a "product technician" who in a minute determines that it doesn't need service and we need to just buy a part and fix it ourselves. And she couldn't even tell me which part it was. Reading from a list "It's either #9, #16, oh, it could be #11" And I'm supposed to guess which one and be able to assemble it myself. Ridiculous and criminal.

Has anyone else notice not one of these are good reviews? I have a washer that the Tech order parts went on vacation was told I had to wait 21 days for all the parts to arrive and that I should find the missing part. After finding the missing part Asurion ordered the wrong color finally get all the parts now every time they make an appointment they call back on the weekend when no one is available to talk and say that the tech is sick and can't make it giving me an appointment in another 3 weeks. The reason for this is because non of the technicians want the job they already told us they would order the parts but wanted nothing to do with coming out to do the repairs and my warranty runs out before the 3 weeks how convent This has been a horrible experience with hours of phone calls where they disconnect hang up have to start all over again they won't call back when they say they will. I have had 1 person out 30 that has actually tried to help. On the brochure it says if we can't fix it we will replace it but they don't tell you that the people that make that decision don't have a phone number or anyway to contact them and who know how long that will take maybe a year who know. Frustrated and I agree why is Home Depot not standing behind what they sell they are selling us the extended warranty.

I have never dealt with such an INCOMPETENT CO. LIKE [censored]-URION, my complaints are the same or similar as all the ones above, so I'm not going to repeat them. All I can say is that I bought the Warranty from Home Depot, therefore Home Depot should stand behind the crap they sell. All these claims should be resolved by Home Depot, not the customers. Home Depot is the one selling this useless crap. And whatever happened to the CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGH?

Home Depot Asurion Protection Plan is a TOTAL SCAM! My Samsung refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling 34 days ago. I have spent at least 10 hours on hold, being transferred, cut off and lied to. I have asked for a manager and he must live in the North Pole because I have never spoken to one. Submitted food loss claim - crickets. I just want a working refrigerator. I have filed multiple claims and am still waiting for them to honor their guarantees. Please save your money and sanity and DO NOT PURCHASE!

I have the same issue! My 4yr old LG French door fridge died Aug 1st and it’s the 11th - the techs (A&E) have rescheduled 4 TIMES! The extended warranty has to replace my fridge now and they NEVER call me back! I have been on the phone calling for over 8 cumulative hours with only apologies and lip service. I think we need to file a class action law suit!

The Appliance warranty ASURION offered by Home Depot is without a doubt the worst of the worst. My daughter purchased a Maytag washer in June 2020. It has been a lemon from git go to say the least. The tub doesn't even fill the tub at all. So when it goes in washing cycle it just spins clothes around. I have to stop it and fill with the soaker to get enough water in it to wash. We've have technicians out on several occasions and they have replaced the control to no avail. Warranty uses A1 out of Vero Beach, FL. Talk to the technician he is rude. Talks over you like he knows what your going to say. He's a worthless SOB in my book and he's lucky I don't have his name so I can tell the world about him. So call back the Asurion and they going to "kick it up to upper management" for possible refund...no contact for a week. Call back get muted. All I can say if you purchase the Asurion Warranty from Home Depot..you are wasting your money.. I don't hold animosity with the store. But will never purchase their warranty again.

All these complaints are essentially what I have gone through with an LG dishwasher. 5 year warranty. Probably had a tech out half a dozen times. Now it’s completely not working the last 2 months. I’ve called at least 2 dozen times. Half the time their system just hangs up on you in the middle of a call. They have absolutely no plan to help and “will call LG”. I’ve heard that a dozen times and it’s a complete mess. Go to Lowe’s or elsewhere.

Frustrated customer: Have to agree with the complaints here concerning Asurion and Home Depot. On the two encounter occasions with Asurion, they are absolutely terrible in serving/honoring the Home Depot extended warranties. It’s like a blackhole with no end in sight. The latest episode concerns my dryer. The extended warranties are a complete scam. I did not need to use my 5-year extended warranty until April 4, 2022 when my dryer (purchased on April 16, 2017) had rattling metal noises and then stopped working. I contacted the Home Depot Protection Plan on April 4, 2020, and was given a claim number and a repair service date. Two days past without any contact from the service provider. I eventually called them. They had the issue down as a washer with a repair date 2 weeks out. To correct their mistake, I was told to call Home Depot again to generate another service order with now a longer wait for a repair date. When asked why such a long wait, it was because they only have one technician!

I circled back to Home Depot/Asurion, after making numerous phone calls (with multiple times of being hung up on and 30-minute waits on the phone), I was forced to pay for a non-Home Depot serviceperson to come out. He was able to make the dryer turn back on (in less than two hours from the initial call to the shop) but did not track down the rattling metal noises.

Consequently, I wrote a letter on April 9, 2022 to Home Depot requesting compensation for the repair cost of $144.00 and for someone to check out the rattling metal noises. Having no response, I sent another letter to Home Depot on May 4, 2022.

My strong advice, do not purchase appliances and least of all their extended warranties (a complete scam) from Home Depot. I purchased a dishwasher along with a 3-year extended warranty from a subsidiary of Sears around the same time period. I needed to only use it once without any problems. This insurance company also used an experienced repair technician.

Anybody filed a complaint with a state attorney general or consumer protection or insurance commissioner?
I am having a similar experience as above: Home Depot sends to Asurion, Asurion says they cannot serve but will pay if you find the repairperson... How to make sure the repait person is competent? why should we have to spend time searching etc... :( :( both companies are failing their customers while pocketing the $

I have constant problems with my Whirlpool ice maker. I did buy an extended 5 year warranty plan. When it came to repair I was told to call S&S who came but said they needed proof of the warranty. I was then told I had to use A&E or warranty was void. Now trying to coordinate with A&E. On top of that I am billed for service from S&S.

By whom were you told to call S&S? Was the service completed through them?

When you have a warranty through Asurion, all services should have been coordinated through them.

I have been trying to obtain service through Asurion/Home Depot for a month. They keep sending emails stating they need this, thay and the other thing. I send everything...they say it's "invalid" and I still need to send a, b, and c...then a and b, then just c...Tried calling numerous times...reps speak very poor English, phone connection is terrible to non-existent, and they keep transferring to other departments. Initially, the claim was filed expeditiously, and I was pleased...then the email started with the further requests. BUYER BEWARE~ Unless HD changes the company they use for extended warranties, do NOT pay the money...You will just be throwing it away.

Home Depot makes promises with their warranty, but they DO NOT DELIVER! Very unresponsive to my complaint about my Nexgrill's igniter continually breaking down. They promise parts and labor, but will only send the part. How many times am i supposed to fix this? They should send a repairman, or replace the grill. PS Do not buy Nexgrills. They are c r a p.

again back to crappy service from Asurion, called for a dryer problem, the first service center called three days after assignment and told me that they could not do the job, contacted Asurion and a new appt. was set up with a new claim date (1 week later) I ask why a new date and was told that is the way it works. service came out, dryer needs roller guides, main bearing and control board was told by service tech it would be three weeks for the parts to come in. I told him I had already been waiting one week and that was to long, he contacted Asurion and they cancelled the claim (. said I refused service) called and talked to a supervisor and was set up with another appt with the same company that refused to come out the first time, so I called back and was told that it had been changed to the second one but it would be june21st before anything could be done, and their policy was they have 60 days to repair an item before they agree to replace. this company is pissed because Home Depot cancelled the contract with them and went to Allstate but, any product that was bought before jan 2021 still has to deal with Asurion, they have no clue what they are doing and just run the customer in circles. hop I never have to use them again for anything will try to get a refund on my other purchase contracts be done with this company.

I'll never take a Home Depot extended warranty again. It's not a warranty it's an insurance policy.
Lost food in freezer four times to a thaw-refreeze problem on a Maytag unit. Asurion keeps sending
the same guy who does window dressing, and leaves. Called a reputable repair service for a second
opinion. He said the controller board is the prime suspect and should have been replaced. What kind
of game are they playing here? Replacing thawed food is expensive, and wasting my time with repeat
visits is just sick.
