Home Depot kitchen cabinet disaster

Made a supid decision to purchase new kitchen cabinets from Home Depot. this project started about Feb. 7, 2011. Its June 23, 2011 and stil not finished.
Since I made payment in full, I got zero help from 4 different employees in their kitchen and bath department to iron out problem after problem.
First disaster, I was told the entire price and agreed and paid. But they left out the counter top from the order. I believe their intentions was to avoid quoting a price over $10, 000 to keep me from backing out of the deal. Two weeks later they ask me to come in and pay for the countertop. HUH? another $1200. somewhere, their employees or the Cabinet company American Woodmark screwed up the parts list, the home installer had overestimed more work than was necessary.
This led to many revisons of the bill and the HD employees failed to provide me with revised bills to track the price adjustments and refunds due to me.
When the cabinets were installed, too many parts were sent and the refunds on the not needed pieces were much lower than I had paid. but no explanation provided. the kitchen and bath people would not even talk to me. The expeditor at the store never ever contacted me. I was told she would be calling almost daily. so the cabinets were in and the countertop company tried to drag out the installation another two months. no help from the HD expeditor. American Woodmark sales rep's attitude was horrible. some cabinet doors were warped and needed replaced. Plastic shipping clips were impossible to remove to adjust shelf height. They should have supplied metal pins to replace the clips.
the installer made a mistake in the sink plumbing and the leak, bubbled up the surface of the sink cabinet and warped the side boards. and the paint peeled off from a leak that was no more than 16 oz of drain water.

My basic complaint is simple, zero cooperation once I paid the bill and the installation time was 3 months too long. I am due several small refunds, corrected refunds.
The installer was the only person who cared about the job being done right.

Home Depot service - bad attitude

went in to purchase an air compresser, and a whole house generator.
stood around 15 - 20 minutes trying to get help. Finally got help from a young boy that really could not answer my questions and went to "find someone". I was just left, no one came back. I went to service desk and made comment "I guess I will have to go to Lowes". The little girl replies back "OK, have a nice day". I guess Home Depot does not want to sell high ticket itmes in these tight times, but sends people away to Lowes...OK by me.

Home Depot no patriotism

I am the wife of a deployed soldier. My husband opened an account with home depot while I was pcsing to alaska. He didn't add me to the account because it wasn't on his mind. Two months later, he deployed to fight this fight. I was told that I could not add myself to the account. They said he would have to call and do so. So he did, mind you I missed a phone call in doing so. They still refused to add me because my husband had no contact number to be reached by! I faxed my special power of attorney. I was told no, again! Then as I tried to close the account due to a lack of understanding on their behalf, I was told I would be charged $14.95! What is this?! We opened this account not because we need a line of credit, but because we are newlyweds and trying to build a credit history together. I will boycott home depot from this point further.

ive heard that pharse wandering. not a whole lot, but i do know that we were given checklists to do before every single deployment. when you go in the military, you learn to grow up very fast and take care of yourself. the ones that cant take care of themselves are usually the boots. or showershoes.

"locate, close with, and destroy the enemy with extreme prejudice"...ive always loved that quote.

semper fi wanderinghebrew. i myself was in the marines for four years. as wandering hebrew said, no special favors just because he is away.
what if i stole someones card and threw an excuse, "well, he/she is in the military in a far away land. ADD ME NOW!". if you arent the account holder, you have no legal right to do anything.

any responsible unit makes sure their marines/soldiers/sailors/airmen get this stuff taken care of beforehand. or even any responsible person would make sure their ducks in a row before leaving.
ive been deployed multiple time. i got all of my stuff taken care of before leaving including wills and direct deposits. im sure wandering hebrew did the same.
so, what seems to be the issue?

Home Depot mower won't run

mower is one year old. would not start this year and took it to an ariens factory authorized repair shop on may 2, 2011. they have had it since then and every time I call they tell me that the carburater is on back order from the factory, which is in CHINA. Ariens says that even though the kohler engine is on their machine it is not their problem but kohlers.

I purchased an Ariens 17 1/2 hp riding mower and was told blades free for life. I've owed the mower since Aug. 2010 and have only gotten one set of blades. I also bought the bagger for the mower and it's very cheaply made, grass falls out while driving everywhere. ( I do like the mower) I hate the bagger and no extra blades have been sent to

Did you drain the gas out of the tank before you stored the mower or at lease add Sta-Bil to the tank and run the engine for a few minutes?

If you didn't, then the gas inside the carburetor turned to varnish over the winter and just needs to be thoroughly cleaned out with carb cleaner.

A real mower repair shop would know how to do this instead of replacing the part.

Are they charging you for the part?

Home Depot refuse return arbitrarily

I went to the store on 6/17, to return a tropical plant. The store manager, James Brown, refused the return, saying that tropicals are not returnable. I asked him where in the store does it say that, and he admitted that there isn't any sign. He then pointed to a line in the return policy, "The Home Depot reserves the right to limit or refuse to
accept the return of merchandise at any time and for any reason." I asked him, when he applies that line, what was the reason? He replied, that the line in the policy was the reason, so essentially, he refused my return at his will, without any reason. I think this
is deceptive business practice. The store is selling things with the impression that they are returnable, but refuses to honer the return policy.
I also suspect racial discrimination, because I do not believe the store never accepted return of tropicals, and the manager just singled me out, possibly because I am Asian.

Home Depot customers

I work at Home Depot, and for the first time I was sickened buy the actions of customers today! Why do customers act like children on a play ground when they visit a store? Now not all customers do this, but a select few do! I'm sure each store has there customers that have been just total [censored] bags! Now before all you customers start a riot please under stand, Home Depot employees for the most part are not making your lives hell in the store. Now there are tho'es special employees at Home Depot that I would love to just drop kick in the face! That doesn't just stop at Associate's, I'm talking ASM's and store managers too. You as a customer have rights, as do we as people working for you.

I have some basic rules of thumb! As a customer, does and don'ts!
1. Don't walk in to any store thinking you can just demand any thing! You can, but the Associate's are not trained to deal with this! You will end up pissing some one off! Some times its just regular customers that are going to stick up for the Associate (and beet your [censored] in the parking lot for being a [censored] bag), and is now dumb founded you want some huge discount cause you have 5 coupons, bounced to 3 different companies and now want a price match along with the box is open and your a vet! Bringing the grand total of your $400.00 mower to $5.98 with your now 98.756% discount! STOP being so cheep!

2. If an Associate cant do some thing, they CANT do it! A manager may be able to. Don't make your issue the Associate's! FFS you just met them 4 min ago! Dont get pissy, If they say they cant its most likely cause at the Associate level they cant! Ask for a manager, that's why an Associate makes $9.50/h and a manager makes $20.00/h, They can and will deal with any issues you may have.

3. If you would beat the crap out of a complete stranger for crapping on your living room floor then don't crap in a Home Depot! IE.
a. Ask for help before climbing the racking! ITS NOT SAFE! if your dumb [censored] falls, all Associate's and above pay for your stupidity!
b. Don't open boxes if you want to look at some thing! That's why there are displays, now I know there are not displays for every thing but most things there are! In my store, if you open it, I will be asking you to purchase it!
c. Service dogs! Need I say more? Guess so. A service dog is the ONLY pet allowed in a Home Depot. Now, again just like the crappy customers there are customers that take care of there dogs when they visit a store. And I thank them all day. Its the ones that let there dog run around the store pissing, crapping, barking, and recently biting customers. I mean WTF, hello!
d. Kids in a working warehouse? That's kinda like service dogs! There are big [censored] forklifts that last time I checked can't stop on a dime! kid vs. forklift? just Google it!
The above is just a few of the, don't crap in my lawn and I wont crap in yours! And Im looking past having to pick up after all the customers that stash there coffee cups, pop cans, water bottles candy bar wrappers and just plane trash where ever they stuff it! Looking past all the thief's, and dumb [censored] that cant read or come in looking for some thing that is found on line. "but your web page says you have it! Guess what people Im here the and we don't have it! Looking past the people looking to stock the cute cashiers, and cant find the pissers to OD on some drugs passing out in the bathroom's. Also looking past the tweeker's that once in the bathrooms after they stuffed the leather man you know they must have paid for in there pants start stealing all the copper off the sinks in the bathrooms. I am very forgiving. BTW I love it when a customer comes in to the brake room and steals a lunch! That's the best one!

Next is a big issue for me. Fork lifts people. The home Depot has an SOP rule, its called the "Zone of Safety" it is simply this. No one can enter a zone of safety. The zone is 4 feet on both left and right of the lift truck and 10 feet in the direction of travel. Why is it when a Associate tells a customer this they still just walk there happy [censored] where they where just told not to? Why? Why would any one walk with in 10 feet of the lift truck on any side? You do know some one has died to make this rule? Its there for a reason!

Next banners, again WTF people. Its a banner blocking off an aisle, and what do some customers do? Open it and walk there impatient [censored] in, to get the product they want! A 10 yo little girl in California died because Home Depot didn't use them, now we do! Stop walking through them please!

Im sure I could go on but I want to go to bed now!

Food for thought, stop being a [censored] bag! be nicer to people not just Associate's but just people in general.

Oh ya one more! We cant load past your GVW, we as Associate's can and will be fired for over loading a rig! So stop asking for a full unit of OSB (3600 LBS) on you home made butt end of a truck trailer, and we wont load your VW with a pallet of concrete (3900LBS), also wont load a unit of block (2600 LBS and UP) in your ranger. We dont care if last week you had any of the following loaded in your truck,
a.100 people (dont care)
b.5 yards of rock (dont care)
c.my wife or my mom(dont care) LOL really dont care
And we really dont care if just yesterday Bob loaded the same thing, I am not Bob and Bob is now deserving a kick in the face!

Have a nice day!
Associate @ a Home Depot near you.

I've been at the service desk checking out and overheard another customer yell that they are going to take their business down the street to Lowes. How anybody can act like people in retail stores do, is beyond me. I feel sorry for the cashiers and the sales people who have to put up with this day in and day out.

Home Depot pressure washer cleaner

This is a complaint against the home depot department store # 6374 and manufacturer of two pressure washing machines husky and kohler which are defected and I purchased them from home depot department store (#6374) tallahassee, florida 32304…

march 7, 2009 I purchased a new husky pressure washer cleaner from the home depot department store # 6374 on receipt#: [protected] at the price of $321.46 dollar’s.

march of 2009 I pulled the husky pressure washer cleaner out of box and prepared the equipment for a project. model#:hu80709/hu80911

according to the operational manual you should inspect the husky pressure washer cleaner before using… the equipment was inspected by me and the husky pressure washer cleaner passed according to the operational manual.

I began to start the husky pressure washer cleaner and the husky pressure washer cleaner would not start… after several attempts to start the husky pressure washer cleaner the equipment still would not start…

I returned the husky pressure washer equipment back to home depot department store #6374 in march 2009. customer service replaced the machine with a kohler pressure washer cleaner. I was very satisfied with the customer service I received at home depot department store #6374

After receiving the (new) kohler pressure washer I brought the item home and began to inspect the equipment according to operational manual. the inspection was done and check out okay….

I began using the new kohler pressure washer cleaner for a project at my home. as I was cleaning the new kohler pressure washer cleaner shut down. so, I started the new kohler pressure washer cleaner again and start working. the new kohler pressure washer finished the project. I cleaned the new kohler pressure washer cleaner and placed it in storage.

May 2010, I pulled the new kohler pressure washer cleaner out of storage and began to use the equipment for the same project as last year. 2009

in the process of me working the new kohler pressure washer cleaner shut down. at this time I attempt to started the equipment again several times. as I was working my project the new kohler pressure washer cleaner shut down again….

I look into the operational manual trying to find out the cause of the equipment shutting down for no reason. the operational manual had no information on the shutting down problem.

I went back to the home depot department store #6374 and purchased a new filter and spark plug for the kohler pressure washer cleaning. (copy attached)

The new filter and spark did not work on the new kohler pressure washer cleaner as I attempt to started the equipment with the new filter and spark installed.

At this point, I brought the new kohler pressure washer equipment back to home depot department store and exampled to customer service how the new kohler pressure washer cleaner was running, shutting down for no reason… I also informed customer service that I just purchases a new filter and spark plug to see if these parts would help and stop the new kohler pressure washer equipment from shutting down…

Customer service informed me that the home depot department store only carry 90 day warranty and the manufacturer carry the two year warrtany only on the emission control system…

Home depot department store customer service informed me that my 90 days had expired with the store #6374 in 2009 and there is nothing home depot can do for me as far as the warranty agreement concerned. (my 90 days warranty ran out with the first defected pressure washer– husky).

Customer service informed me that I was still covered under the manufacturer two year warranty agreement and only had a few days before that warranty expired on equipment emission control system.

The only thing home depot department store can offer me is to send the kohler pressure washer out to a service repair shop at my expense. I would be charged for by the repair shop. for them to find out why the new kohler pressure washer cleaner is shutting down.

I was not and still not, happen with this agreement to pay for the repairs service. i’m spending money already for a new pressure washer cleaner just purchased last year.

Home depot department customer service gave me no other choice but to take the agreement. to pay for the repair service on new purchased equipment.

I was very upset and dis-satified with the whole purchasedand wanted my money back. (copy attached)

in 2010, the kohler pressure washer was send to the service repair shop for repairs by home depot department store (#6374

after (one) month the service shop returned the machine to home depot department store #6374. I was contacted by home department store customer service informing me that the kohler pressure washer is back in the store.

The home depot department store customer service handed me a receipt showing the price owned on the repairs $92.22 dollar’s, (receipt #:[protected]). according to the work order document I notice the repair shop did the same thing I did, changed the filter and spark plug. why would this service be needed on a new pressure washer cleaner that is only two years old?

after paying the charges I look at the repair shop work order receipt and notice that the repair shop did the same thing I did which I already explained to customer service at the home depot department store #6374 that I have already replaced the filter and spark plugs parts. (please see attached document).

You will see the information on the (attached copy) showing what the repair shop service man or woman wrote down. I informed home depot department store customer service that I am being charged for parts I already replaced.

the home depot department store (#6374) customer service informed me there is nothing else they can do for me. customer service told me I can call the manufacturer and see what can come out of that call to them with your new purchased pressure washer equipment with the warranty about come to the end.

I took the kohler pressure washer cleaner home and started the equipment to see if the equipment is running and not shutting down. I did not check the water pressure at this time because everything was okay. (wrong!) I had no ideal the equipment did not have any water puressure coming from equipment since it just came back for the repair shop. I placed the kohler pressure washer cleaner in storage for the season before I check and notice their where no water pressure coming from the machine.

may 27, 2011 I pulled the kohler pressure washer cleaner out of storage for work I needed to finish from last year. I did my regular inspection on the equipment and began process all the connections and parts. after all the parts had been connected properly I began to use the equipment. then I notice that the kohler pressure washer cleaner did not have any water pressure….

Then I began checking everything on the machine and all of it parts to see if everything was in tack. so, I began replaces things: the hose, spray handle, check the oil, check the gas (regular), check the spark plug, check all connected parts, made sure water was getting the equipment and all these things was good. this is a three years old pressure washer cleaning, how can this be?

I called customer service again at home depot department store #6347 and informed customer service about the kohle pressure cleaner not producing water pressure and the repair shop wrote down they repaired the equipment.

Home depot department store, customer service responsed with you can buy another pressure washer cleaner and get at store discount.

the response I received did not make any since……

Conclusion:

after all the trouble I been through with this purchases. this is what I am asking for a total refund for everything I paid out on repairs and receive better brand pressure washer cleaner. how can the be with a new product?

please see attached documents on all the monies I spended out on these two pressure washer cleaner.

I unfortunately have the same model as this man. I got it all set up, used it for 1/2 day. Next morning it will not start. I am so irritated with Home Depot that i cant even begin to explain. The truth is, they sell below grade equipment, anything from Dewalt drills to powerwashers are made specifically for the home depot and its GARBAGE. I am filing a complain myself, 3 returned powerwashers, 3 different managers with bad attitudes, and I still have no powerwasher that works. THANKS HOME DEPOT, im sure LOEWS will appreciate my business

Home Depot defective product, no tech support

I bought an awning from The Home Depot. It proved to have a serious installation design flaw. Installation brackets prevent the awning from closing to within about 2' of fully closed. AwnTech, the awning's maker, didn't give me any tech support when I called or emailed them. Their "tech support" was simply a young woman, who could only tell me "be very careful" when working on the awning. Even when I went back to The Home Depot to have them call AwnTech for me, their operator told us they were out to lunch, at 2:30pm. And never called me back.

I got a standard "The Home Depot" email request to rate the product. I rated AwnTech's tech support poorly. But The Home Depot rejected my review, even though it was accurate and cool headed. They did not want to hear any criticism of AwnTech's tech support. Never mind that I'm stuck with a big problem. I can fix it myself, at a cost.

Home Depot manager dusgusting behavior

While shopping at home depot today I overheard the store manager, i believe his name was Randy telling his staff they had amnesia and that if they get treat poorly by his managers it's because he told them to do so. He was very arrogant and rude, he looked over at me and asked if i had a problem. I was just shopping, so i stopped and said no problem just that I could not believe the manner in which he spoke to his own employees.

Home Depot broken sprayer

Bought a Husky HU80220 power washer from Home Depot one year ago. Used it once, worked fine, but spayer gun assembly plastic broke so it now leaks too much to use.

Tried to get a copy of the user manual on line and it does not exist. This is a good indication of the kind of company Husky must be and their concern about customer support. Would not buy another Husky power washer or any product after this experience and plan to let Home Depot know what happened next time I go to the store.

I have had the same problem with this item and have yet to find a replacement sprayer or something to make it work without leaking so bad.

Home Depot will not stand behind there work

I purchased new maytag appliances from home depot. They had linn star transfer install. A week later my entire floor and ceiling is damaged due to a broken dump hose. Maytag claims linn star did it, linn star states it was defective when they installed and home depot does not care. I have filed all there paperwork, twice! 8 months later they willl not return calls!
Home depot is an absolute piece of #! Not one more penny will be spent in that # hole!

Home Depot extreme disregard/tardiness

A&e factory service is the extended warranty service for home depot appliances.
*paid for 5 year extended warranty at time of purchase of a maytag washer
*drum bearing failure 4 days beyond maytag 1 year warranty
*called a&e factory service 3 times over a period of two weeks scheduling and re-scheduling repair appointments with success finally on 3rd call.
*service call determined bearing failure and called a&e office
*a&e determined repair too costly and offered about 75% of cost of washer to replace. accepted offer - payment check would be sent in 10-15 days
*what to do about washing clothes-am confined in a wheelchair but they can't
Expedite service.
*waited 15 days without check. called service again. supervisor said telephone
Representative had failed to mark the check accepted box and we would have to
Wait another 10-15 days. not possible to expedite check regardless of situation.
*what to do about washing piles of clothing - am confined in a wheelchair?
Don't consider a&e factory service or home depot as reputable services.

I now would recommend square trade warranty service - very reputable
Service by personal experience

A&E is the service company of choice in a lot of areas. For better or worse. They are a Sears owned company/franchise. Maytag may have given you consideration at 4 days over. Most mfrs fall on the side of the customer during this implied "grace period" beyond the mfr warranty.
Buyer beware though - this replacement SATISFIES your service contract. It does not carry over to your next one. Think twice before purchasing these tricky plans.

Home Depot gift card rip off

It's official, I will never shop at the home depot again. I was given a $50.00 home depot gift card that didn't work. After much thought, I went back to the friend who gave me the card and told her what happened. It was a bit awkward. She was embarassed and provided me with a receipt.

Turns out the last 4 digits of the gift card number on the receipt do not match the number on the card. At least we know what the problem is. How that happened - we'll never know.

What did happen was that I was told we are out of luck and would need to appeal the charge with visa as that is how it was originally paid for. Really! Now I need to go back to the person who bought this with receipt and card in hand and say - too bad - you are out of luck.

Forgot to mention I have made two trips to the store to resolve this and they never called me back as promised - I had to call them back. Nice customer service!

Please pass this along. And beware of the home depot. Do you want to do business with a company like this? Your choice. As for me, i'll just shop at lowes.

Home Depot charging money after paying off card

we paid off our card in July, 2o1o. 2 months later they call saying we are 60 days in collections for $3.43. that's right...3 dollars and 43 cents. they then reported to the three credit agencies that we had 2, 30-day late collections. I went balistic. They dropped the $3.43 when they realized that they added interest charges AFTER we paid off the card to a ZERO balance, but they would not contact the credit agencies and correct the delinquient information. They are terrible for doing this to us. we have had no late payments on anything...ever and they have screwed us with this false incorrect reporting to the 3 credit agencies. I have filed complaints but they will not lift their stupid mistake. we got turned down for credit at a gas company for one of our rental properties because of Home Depot's mistake.
I hope this helps someone else and that soon this mess gets corrected. We should not have to put up with this.

I wish I had read these comments before getting a credit card from Home Depot in Tennessee, USA. I had a credit card which I had used all summer trying to get the yard landscaped. After spending over $7, 000.00 with them through the summer, paying the balance off each time I received a statement, I thought it would be okay to purchase a bulb for a outdoor light which had when out after about 15 years. I put a bulb on the credit card for $18.62 and it didn't work, so I took it back, I was sent a statement where I was statement which had me purchasing the bulb on the Home Depot credit card and then returning the light bulb which showed no amount due. Okay, we decided there was something wrong with this light bulb, so I ordered another one on 12-04-14 and when it came my daughter installed it and it did not work either. I decided that it was probably the light system that had went out, so I took it back to Home Depot with a refund to my account. I had not paid my $18.62 credit card bill because it was not due until 01-04-2015. While I was at Home Depot on 12-30-14 returning the light bulb I put some batteries on my credit card for over $97.00. Well, I received my statement which was due by 02-04-2015 and it had a LATE CHARGE on it of $18.62. I was informed that because I had used my credit card to purchase the batteries that I had not paid my credit card bill of $18.62, which as I stated was not due until 01-04-2015. This was what I was told when I went to the store today and then had to end up calling and talking to Natalie at Home Depot, because supposedly she was the only one who could take the late charge off my credit card. I guess I was a little loud at her, but I could not understand the logic of paying a LATE CHARGE of $18.62 on an item which I had returned on 12-30-2014 and the statement not being due until 01-04-2015. My calendar has never put January, 2015, before December, 2014 before in all my 72 years.
I told the nice salespersons in the store who were trying to help me that I was sorry, but I was going to purchase a trash compactor priced at $809.10 on my credit card, but after talking to Natalie and paying the amount for the batteries over the phone; I would just go to Lowes and get the compactor. I am very afraid to charge anything to the Home Depot again, even though I did get my front yard landscaped this summer with credit card first and paid by check later. I used the credit card so I could have someone else pick up the supplies that we needed. I guess I will have to make other arrangements in the future. I seem to remember having a credit card by Citi Bank before and after paying off over $3, 000.00, they tried to charge me over $200.00 for late charges. I really thought Home Depot would be different. Hope this helps someone think twice before getting a credit card from this company. Thanks for letting me rant and rave!

Same thing happened to me. Paid the account IN-FULL on Mar 20 and was so noted on the check. On Mar 23, three days later, they added $5.13 interest to the account. In April they added another $2.00 interest fee to the $5.13 interest they shouldn't have charged in the first place, and a $10.00 late charge, which had been verbally waived on Mar 20, since the 20th was the due date. When I finally opened my statement, assuming the balance was zero, I protested, and they finally removed the $10 late fee but not the $5.13 interest. I am now charged $7.13 I shouldn't have owed in the first place. I protested. In May, another $2.00 interest fee, which I paid in order to use the card. In June I again paid the card off in full. This month, I got a Credit report and discovered they had reported me as 30 days late in May, when I supposedly owed $7.13, and then they told the three Credit Bureaus I was 30 days late paying $7.13 in bogus charges. This company uses creative accounting to rip you off. Do NOT get a credit card from them!

Home Depot - military veterans discount

Home depot has decided to not give a discount to all military veterans. All veterans will get a discount on Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and Veterans Day. Only retired, disabled, and active military members will be able to get a discount anytime. I think it is a dishonor for Home Depot to not recognize all the Veterans that served a short period of...

Home Depot kitchen remodel

Kitchen cabinet install nightmare with homedepot-flagstaff, az

This was a pretty cut and dry replacement (And installation) of new cabinets, silestone countertops, kohler sink, new faucets and disposal. Hd required all payment up front. This should have been the clue to go elsewhere. So last october we committed to fork over $20k for thomasville/martha stewart cabinets and all the trimmings. It is may 1 and this job is not finished - or close to it. Cabinets were either damaged, the wrong size or so poorly constructed the installer couldn’t fix them. The space for the wall ovens was the wrong size, and this was “not their problem”! Installation doesn’t include putting what was demolished back together. You have to find your own plumber and electrician to supplement their “installation”, including a woodworker to fit the oven into the cabinet and the microwave back on the wall. This cabinet fiasco took so long that the silestone pattern we picked had been discontinued. We called silestone and found a plentiful supply not 20 miles away. A simple formica counter top for the laundry room isn’t ready after 6 months!
Lowes remodeled our kitchen in phoenix - in one month everything had been demolished, reinstalled and was all put back together before final payment.
We are so sorry we didn’t look for a contractor to do this job.

Home Depot unauthorized charges & refusing full payment

I tried to close out this account based on two final bill statements. The most recent bill statement i paid off was for a remaining balance of $7.32. Now Citibank says that they reversed a payment on the account leaving me with a $34 balance. The account they said they used was from a bank I no longer have an account with. This payment therefore was unauthorized because I nofified them months earlier that that account was closed. Last month, a Citibank manager agreed to record the account as "Paid in Full." This month I recieved a statement with the balance still owing. The final manager I talked to ended the conversation and hung up on me when I got frustrated...I may just pay the balance because it is a small amount, but dont think that Citibank should have attempted the withdrawl. I paid in full for two statements...If anyone knows of a class action suit against Citibank for similar charges, I'd be interested in helping.

...additionally, even if they attempted a withdrawl and didnt recieve funds...no payment should ever be credited to my account without backed funds...at the very least its bad billing. Case in point I paid the full amount due twice based on two consecutive statements before they stated that they had applied a credit to my account...

Update by MK in WA
May 02, 2011 3:51 am EDT

I notified them that the account was closed, and gave them new account information. When I notify that an account is closed, it should be handled as exactly that...closed, no more withdrawls...

Home Depot unauthorized withdrawl

I paid card in full based on a bill amount. The following month a Remaining balance of $7.32 was shown on a statement. I sent in that payment. The next month I recieved a statement showing a balance of $34.00. When I called, they said they had a pplied a payment using a previous account I had given them. I had notified them months earlier that the account was no longer active. By charging to this account, Citibank made an unauthorized transaction in which they say leads to a ballance on the card left unpaid. I complained in the store and finally reached an accounts manager that stated that the balance will be corrected as paid in full. I recently got another statement that gives a balance of $34.00. The associates told me the same thing that the reversed payment was not applied back to my account untill after my statements were sent. I spoke with another manager and stated that the payment withdrawl was unautherized and should not have even been attempted...He abbruptly ended the phone call and disconnected the conversation.

Home Depot fraudulent discount, window installation

On April 16, 2011 at The Home Depot in Southlake, TX a representative offered a 10% discount for the purchase and installation of a replacement window after in-home estimate. During the estimate, the employee rescinded the offered discount, saying additional (unspecified) costs offset any discount. On April 27, another Home Depot employee called to say that we either had to pay an additional $69 to complete the work by purchasing a sash or we would have to complete the work ourselves by climbing onto the roof and painting the outside of the window so it would match the others in the home. Very upset by this misrepresentation of the work, the lack of the promised discount, and the addition of heretofor unspecified add-ons beyond the contract to complete the work in a standard manner, the installation manager identified as "Mike" called and offered to cancel the contract. However, despite numerous calls to a minimum of seven individuals and the check for my $193 deposit having cleared the bank on April 21, I am told to wait a minimum of 14 days plus mailing time to receive a refund.
The offer of the discount never materialized and we were deceived into thinking that the full cost of $767 for the window included full installation to match existing windows in the home, and had no knowledge of needing an upsell sill or having to climb out on the roof to finish the job ourselves. This company misrepresented its offer, was deceptive in communicating additional costs, and has not concluded this transaction in a satisfactory manner to me.
