HOM Furniture HOM Furniture Westwood Leg Table

Bought the Westwood leg dining table from HOM Furniture. The table was delivered the following week, which I appreciated. Shortly after delivery the surface of the table started peeling. HOM Furniture explanation was that I caused the problem myself and should not have used a damp cloth to clean the table. Really ?

I have an $800 table that is unusable.

The table was new to the sales floor when I bought it and shortly after was no longer available. I assume I'm not the only one who has had issues with this table as HOM Furniture discontinued selling it. They have refused to take responsibility for its defect.

Desired outcome: The cost of the table should be refunded.

HOM Furniture Carpet installation

I ordered new carpeting for my living room. I live in a Condominium. Because of this being a condo I was charged a surcharge of $350.00, JUST for delivery. Supposedly by the installation company. The installers were able to park in the underground garage, use the elevator about 10 feet away from where they parked, to bring up ONE roll of carpeting to the second floor.

According to the rep I worked with at HOM she thought once the installers became aware of the one roll, elevator etc.. possible a concession would be made on the $350.00 charge. There was no concession. I don’t understand HOM allowing the installer to gouge customers this way. There has to be other installation companies that aren’t so greedy.

Because of this I have no intention of shopping at HOM for anything. Allowing this to occur is beyond comprehension!

Desired outcome: Even though this is the installer, I believe HOM could make a concession when they must realize how absurd this delivery fee is.

I was contacted by a HOM representative very soon after posting my concern with the “condo delivery fee”. After working with the representative we came to a resolution that worked for both parties. I appreciate that HOM actually cared enough to address my concern and work with me on resolution as quickly as they did.

HOM Furniture Counter Height Chair

When I arrived at the dock to pick up my purchase from amother store they took over 30 minutes to brong out my order. When they brought it out the box looked VERY beat up and was not sealed correctly. When I got it home the bottom rear chair bar was broken but I had not noticed until all pieces were put together, also a seat cushion had a small tear in it. Each chair took me over an hour to put together. I am in no mood to take it all apart to return it.

Desired outcome: Let me bring in assembled chair for replacement or a discount on 1 of the chairs.

HOM Furniture Couch

I ordered a couch from them. I got my couch yesterday. It was wrapped nice . When I opened it I was shocked. It was a grey color. I ordered a brown color. When I seen this couch it was brown the Sales Consultant Rick said it will turn brown in the light. I'm so disappointed. It doesn't match my front room at all. This was my first BRAND NEW Couch for me and my son apartment. I'm SO, SO, So, SO VERY DISAPPOINTED.he lied so he can make a sale shame on him. I will never buy anything from there again.it is a high priced couch. It's' not worth it.

HOM Furniture Product not received

December 2019 I purchased three pieces of furniture two chairs one dogs, the sofa and one chair contained pillows totalling 5 pillows. I did not receive my furniture until June of 2020 I was told first covid-19 but later the second customer service person said it was sold to someone else, when I received the furniture I realized the pillows were filled with duck feathers I did not know that at purchase I am very very allergic to duck feathers I returned the pillows to the Brooklyn center store and they told me they would order me pillows without duck feathers the manufacturer said he could not do that but would send the pillow coverings without filling. In August the service department contacted me and said the pillow shams were there they would let me know when they were filled that never happened when I called back about the pillows I was informed that they didn't send the pillow shams they sent cushion covers it is now almost the end of September I have had four managers at different times working on this and I still don't have my pillows I'm requesting that either I get the pillows that were supposed to come with the couch or give me money to buy pillows for my couch thank you.

HOM Furniture not sure if the scratch was done getting it through the door or at the store

We just received a rug and a leather recliner. They came in the door and had trouble getting through. They is a sliding door that was a few more steps to get to.
My husband sign for the delivery as they were taking the plastic wrap from it. They left. It was a floor model with a mark on the back and on the back of the headrest.
I look it over very carefully. They wrote down what I found. When I check it over there is a scratch right in front of the footrest. Some is a torn, very small now but afraid it will get bigger as feet are resting on it. Very disappointed. We also wanted to buy a couch and the sale man told us that he would call us with items of the same color so we could get them all in one delivery charge. That never happened. No call. I know the store is closing to rebuild but expected better.
Now when people see my new recliner all I can say is to bad they didn't take care of it. I feel like it's a used piece. Didn't mind being a floor model because very small marks were in the back. As you can see in the pictures this new scratch tare is is right in front. Dianne

HOM Furniture one and a half year old china hutch ($3,500) has mullion falling off. poor quality.

A year and a half ago, my husband and I spent a large sum of money at HOM Furniture buying furniture for our upstairs remodel.
One of the pieces we bought was a very large showcase china buffet w/hutch.
I noticed today that one of the mullions has come loose and is dangling off. I called HOM and explained the situation. Kathy, at Rochester's branch of Hom, callously told me that since I ran out of warranty last August, I could fill out a request to have a service person fix it and they would charge me for the repair of the very expensive hutch.

I am really displeased and dissatisfied with this response on several levels. The most basic being is that I paid premium price for what I assumed was quality. Apparently HOM does not sell quality, realizing after a year the furniture will fall apart and that is why they charge exorbitant fees for extra warranties.

I will also note, I was not impressed with their customer service at the time of our purchases and delivery. When the living room couches and heavy area rugs finally came in, they sent one very young man to unload 2 heavy couches and large area rugs. With my bad back, I was expected to help!
When the moving men brought the hutch/buffet I noticed soon after they left that they did not attach the security braces that hold the two pieces together to keep the hutch from falling! I had to call them back to put them on as well.
My husband and I are currently in the midst of a family room and bedroom remodel. Needless to say - we will NOT be going to HOM for anything and I will certainly discourage my friends and family from shopping there as well.

HOM Furniture bench

I bought a bench from HOM. I got it and I had two right sides to the bench and cannot put it together. I called Hermantown to fix the problem and they said they can't deliver me a new one until October 2nd. I am not waiting a month to get my bench when it's not my mistake. I want it now that is why I bought it. I live an hour and a half away. I already drove up once to get my bench and I'm not doing it again when this wasn't my fault. I've called and no one can seem to call me back or get it to me sooner. This is the second time I've had an issue with something from HOM and I am extremely unsatisfied.

HOM Furniture bed delivery

I just ordered a bed. I had the worst experience with the delivery. I bought a lot of my stuff from HOM and I will not be back. Remind you I spend 7, 000 on a bed. Order a mattress pad with the bed that was an additional cost. Which is mind blowing after I spend SEVEN thousand dollars at your store. I received no call telling me when someone would arrive at my
House to bring the bed. I called HOM in Duluth and talked to a extremely rude man that told me he had no answers for me. We get the bed set up and we have no mattress pad that came with it. Now I have no pad to put on when it's suppose to be covered Incase of anything and having kids it's not that easy not to. I find the workers extremely rude. And you most likely won't find me back spending any money there.

HOM Furniture mattress

We bought a mattress 2 years ago. After bringing it home we asked that someone look at it as it slants towards the edge on one side when you lay on it. They looked at the base of the bed and said nothing was wrong with that or the mattress. 2 years later we cant sleep in it as it has created back problems..again because the one side of the bed slopes. It has to be an interior problem with the mattress as can't visually see it. No matter how much this has been described the response is still..we measured it..nothings wrong. I waited hours for someone to show up. Was told a manager approved me being compensated for time I had to take off work as the 11 to 1 time frame I was given ended up being 4:00 . The manager NEVER called and I was not given the promised compensation. I was a regular customer of Hom. I will never set foot in Hom furniture again and will do my best to get the word on the street, on social media and ever complaint site I can find that Hom doesnt honor warranties, their word or provide customer service in a professional manner.

HOM Furniture Serta recognition plush king mattress icomfort quilt

We purchased this mattress 2/20/17 from HOM furniture in Woodbury, MN for $1899.00. We were told the only way the mattress was guaranteed was to purchase a mattress pad for another $139.99, which we did. The mattress was delivered on 3/16/17. The mattress had a 3 inch ridge along the edge. The delivery men said this would go away. Upon further inspection, it was also noted that there were 4 areas of round shaped depressions that were 8-9 inches in diameter. The depressions were on each side of the bed where a persons head and feet would have been. There were no tags or warranty form on this mattress. This was obviously a USED mattress. We were told we were buying a NEW mattress. I called customer service the next day and another mattress was delivered on 3/20/17. This mattress did have a warranty tag on it but no other tags We hope that this is a NEW mattress. I have taken pictures which I will attach.

Is it HOM furniture's policy to sell USED mattress falsely sold as NEW mattresses? We did not sleep on the mattress due to concerns regarding the cleanliness/sanitary safety of the mattress and the fact that it would have been uncomfortable to sleep in depressions on the mattress. We were not informed that HOM furniture was charging $1899.00 for a used mattress that we hope did not contaminate our home. We would like monetary compensation for falsely selling a USED mattress as a new product, inconvenience for not being able to sleep on a mattress, and sanitary concerns. I also believe that it may be illegal to sell a USED mattress.

HOM Furniture ic appluse 2 ferm mattress icomfort quilte

I purchased the Comfort firm on 12/04/16. The bed at the store seamed soft enough but a week into it I could tell it was firmer than the one in the store. the salesman said I need to try it for at leased 30 days before I could return it. so it is now Feb. 17th and we go to the store to resolve the problem. He now tells me their is a break-in period on all mattresses and I need to walk on it to soften it up? this mattress is soft in the center and hard on the edges and my wife and I roll to the center. I request a full refund of mattress and adjustable base. I believe this mattress is used or totally defective. Dissatisfied costumer

So sorry to hear of your frustrations with your mattress purchase. If you feel that there is a defect possibly present we can gladly send out one of our in home service technicians for a mattress inspection. If you also purchased a mattress protector you are still within your 120 night comfort guarantee. Full refunds are not something that are included within the 120 night sleep comfort guarantee, it simply allows you to switch out the current mattress if you are not 100% satisfied and will then be put towards an in store credit for a new mattress purchase. If you could provide us with your name and phone number on your account we can get this all set up if you would like depending on which route you would prefer to go with. HOM Furniture Leather furniture

My husband & I paid a lot of money for leather furniture that the sales woman told us had a lifetime warranty. After s few years, the "leather" started tearing. We attempted to have it repaired, came to find out our warranty had expired, and our leather furniture is ground up "leather bits" glued together. The furniture has basically disintegrated and pieces are all over my house. It is duct taped together, had to be covered! What a colossal scam! I would love to set this furniture outside their store for potential customers to see!

HOM Furniture furniture

I bought a sofa and with in a week the material was pulling apart Home furniture replaced it

Then 2 weeks later the same thing started happening again and then they insisted on a tech coming out to see it

After taking another day off he finally arrived and within 5 min said it was defective and that customer service would contact me with in 24 hours

A week no one ever called so I called them and wanted to return it and they said they would only give me store credit..

After finally selecting new furniture and custom ordering it. IT finally arrived only to find out the pieces were the wrong size and that a cussion was miss made.

Again to call the customer service and have them come out again to verify the problem(more days off)

They finally called and said it was a mistake and they would deliver the correct pieces(more time off)

when they finally got the right pieces to me the cushion was not there and was told I had to go pick it up and only to discover that they just replaced the foam not the fabric on the cushion and expected me to do it.

At this point I had had it and called them and told them in no uncertain terms to come get it

I will never shop with them again they have horrible customer skills and the furniture is crap

DONT SHOP THERE!

HOM Furniture Delivery Disaster for Bedroom Set

I bought an entire bedroom set from Hom Furniture, as I just recently bought a bed from them. I ordered this a month ago and of course paid for it then. I am moving tomorrow and at the time said I needed it around noon. I took the entire day off to wait for it along with my movers. I get a call from them two days before stating they will deliver after 4:45, and I immediately responded by saying my building doesn't allow delivers after 4pm. I talked to a customer service representative early in the morning and she said she would call back by 3pm. I waited until 5:30 and talked to another rep who had no idea what was going on. Put me on hold and immediately told me there was nothing he could do. Give me a break they could deliver it from 7am to 4pm but there is nothing they can do? Now I have to wait until Saturday, which of course they can't give me a time until Friday. I am so frustrated. Now I get to sleep on the floor and also not unpack until they maybe deliver on Saturday. I was planning on buying all my living room set there as well. Forget that and I will spread the word of there extremely poor customer service.

HOM Furniture Item Availability

This is my first experience ever buying a brand new bed set from a real furniture store. So far, im wishing I went to Ikea. I ordered a bedroom set with two dressers one with a mirror.I was told they had none in stock and would have to order it.So I prepaid my $1000 something and waited a few weeks. I was finally told I would get it delivered April 15.Yesterday I get a call that my bed will be delivered, but my other stuff will be a few more weeks! What! You were given time, whats going on? Im NOT happy right now, I spent alot of money I saved up, prepaid it, and wont get my product on time today.I will be letting my friends n family know about my experience, so no one else has to be disappointed.

HOM Furniture terrible experience

After spending time with a sales person for nearly a week deciding the custom pieces to order, she calls us at the end of a business day stating she is leaving the company and to work with a new salesperson. We then tried to order the furniture which was delivered - all of the incorrect pieces came. After several hours working with more sales people on the phone, they assured us that everything would be ok and the *right* pieces were coming...but would take an additional 8 weeks to be delivered since they were custom. After waiting the time, we receive the pieces, which were now correct except three of the four pillows don't match. Additionally, we realized we were overcharged by $75! We went back into the store, spoke with Karen Thorn, Guest Services Supervisor who said she would credit the amount and order a new pillow. I also explained, each time I had to come back into the store was an hour drive from where I live and by the way I'm 8 months pregnant which makes it even more inconvenient and stressful for my family and I. Then, I look on my credit card statement to verify the credit - miraculously not only is the credit for the overcharge missing, there's a new charge for $120 over two months after I initially ordered my furniture. Karen Thorn said she would check with her store manager and be in touch with me on if they could credit me for all the inconvenience - which she never did! Luckily, I took her business card and left her a voicemail to call me back. She never did. I called back a week later and asked if she had spoken to her store manager and why she hadn't called me back for nearly two weeks?! At that time, it became clear she never had a conversation with her store manager and I asked her to speak with the store manager directly. Instead of transferring me to the correct manager, she passed it off to the sales manager Brenda Becker. I explained the entire situation to Brenda Becker who said she would clear things up both with the pillow, the two extra charges and figure out what they can do to credit my inconveniences. In the meantime, of course she offered to give me a store credit (which was ironic since we're not exactly keen on the idea of shopping there after this experience). She said she needed to speak with the sales people involved and get a better understanding on how so many things were screwed up. She never acknowledged why their "guest services supervisor, " Karen Thorn dropped the ball. A few days later I receive a voicemail from Brenda Becker stating she still needs to follow-up with her sales people to figure out what is the right amount to credit all the inconveniences. Instead of her calling back to follow-up on these details, she passes the baton to another sales manager, who leaves me a message stating they can credit me $50 for inconveniences. I called the store back and ended up getting Brenda Becker again, who then mentions that after looking into the situation, they noted that the initial sales person who quit had set up our invoice to be lower than the one we ended up with. How does this manage to happen? We have now been overcharged three separate times for the same order and things are still not cleared up. I haven't seen any $50 dollar credit and Brenda Becker continues to insist I work with her sales people. Tonight I tweeted a message to @homfurniture, clearing things up with traditional customer service has seriously failed. I'm looking to speak with someone at the corporate level as well as the store level GM. In the meantime, I recommend others shop elsewhere. I can't trust this company after being overcharged (three times!) and promised things several times with no resolution at the store level...will be interesting to see how long they will be in business for.

HOM Furniture Purchase

Hom Furniture is a horrid company to purchase from. I made the mistake of purchasing from them on two separate occasions. Both purchases had issues within the first 3 months of ownership. Of course when you attempt to exchange an item you are told that it’s now a clearance item and they no longer have it, but you can replace it but then if you purchased an extended warranty it becomes void and you lose that money.

If they no longer have an item that is not their fault. If a manufacturer goes out of business they rarely warn the stores that stock their products.

If you don't mind me asking, what were the pieces and how much do you pay for them?

HOM Furniture HOM Guard PLUS Protection

Sales person convinced us to buy 3 year protection plan ... saying everything is covered. This was particularily interesting to us since we have 5 grandkids and they are unpredictable. We even asked about specific examples like a child coloring on a piece of furniture. When we called about a claim, they mailed us a list of exceptions (not previously provided) which exlcude just about everything, including the examples we asked about.

This company is misleading. dishonest and unethical. I've spent over $10K there in recent years. I will never spend another dime there and will spend a life time bashing them and recommending that my extensive list of friends and family shop elsewhere.

I am also very upset, I've recently moved and I asked about moving damages before purchasing the warranty, and they promised that if anything was to happen they would cover it, LIES. I called and they said moving damage does not count. Its a piece of wood that was damaged and no longer can have a screw put in because its cut in half. Therefor my head board is not safe to put up. They told me i would be charged a 50.00$ plus taxes

I completely agree. They say everything is covered until they come out and say this is damage due to wear (using it)... Why else would you use the Home Guard. The BBB should be involved with this!

HOM Furniture Crappy Customer Service

We received a new couch from HOM Furniture on April 14, 2010. It is a power reclining sofa. Today (5/6/2010) the left side malfunctioned. I called customer service for HOM, and they have told me they are unable to have a tech come out and look at it until 5/15/2010. What kind of customer service is that? I don't expect somebody to come out the next day, but really 9 days until someone can look at it? It would be so bad, but the power recliner is stuck out in a somewhat open position, and I'm not able to put the couch back into an upright position. My husband and I are in the market for a new Master Bedroom set. I can guarantee that we will not be purchasing it from HOM!

I received a call from HOM furniture today. They are sending out a new couch tomorrow before noon (now that's service). I am really impressed by the action that was taken to fix our couch problem. Apparently, HOM is willing to keep a long time customer, and I greatly appreciated that this issue was resolved so quickly!

I called for a repair last week and they say March 6th is the earliest someone can get out...that's one month away!
