I arrived at Hollywood Motors to help a female friend buy a car. I just bought a truck a month ago from a ford dealer off of 270. The Hollywood salesman call my phone and told me my friend couldn't get a car because she wasn't on her job long enough. I told James the salesmen manager we would come in and talk about it. James told me that after she reach a 6 month period on the job. My friend Crystal can take over the contract.

I later found out it was a lie. James told me this wouldn't effect my credit. I was trying to buy a home. He told me with my A-1 credit it would hurt it. I bought a 96 astro mini van, the day after my friend took the van back to Hollywood motors to get some repair work done on it and to lower the price on the contract by getting a cheaper warranty. James told me because they made a mistake on the paper work and I had to sign the paper work all over again.

I got there my friend told me her purse was missing for a while, she went back home to look for it and came back to the lot only to find it in the back of the van, with original paper missing. I notice the new paper work was 500 dollars more, without the original paper work I couldn't prove it. The owner later settled with me and gave me a check for half of the 500 dollars. Just two weeks later the van broke down.

The warranty didn't cover the repairs because the 969 dollar bill was under maintenance charges and the warranty didn't cover maintenance. A month later the vehicle was shorting out fuses. I took it back to the repair shop. The engine was replaced poorly. It cause me 600 dollars which was not covered by the warranty. The mechanic told me don't ever buy any thing from Hollywood motors again.

I reported and tried to sue Hollywood motors for contract fraud. The Better Business Bureau couldn't help nor Jay Nixon Hot line. My lawyer Kenneth H. Gilbert was a crook too, he just took my money. I learned a very good lesson, I will never set foot on a car lot in St. Louis. Nobody will do a thing to help consumer victims.

After being hired in November and after selling 43 cars I could not understand what was taking Robbie so long to pay me my bonus, he kept telling me to look forward to my check but I never received it.I was the only african american employee.I watched them down talk black people, judge black people, lose their information or entire file. They curse out their employees, they train us to lie to consumers, they tell you one thing to get you in and then ask for more money. They really pressure you to buy and tell you go uck yourself If you don't.Robbie fired me feb 4 2014 and when i asked why he responded It wasnt important. They have no structure and very unprofessional, I contacted kmov and EEOC because i want my bonus i earned, i worked really hard.Im divorced, a grandmother of 2 and single.I pray that karma kick Hollywood Motors ### one day for Mistreating gods child.

Feb 2014 Hollywood Motor Company used me. I was hired by Robbie. I sold 43 cars and Robbie robbed me blind of my bonus. He Would always tell me i should be looking forward to my paycheck But my check would always be the same. They decide who they want to sell a car too, they lose customers information and treat customers like c***.Hollywood Motor Company feels black people have no common sense i would not work for this company. They dont trust black employees.

Well, to be honest you both are right. Had worked in the car business for a long time with dealership that mostly finance the cars "in-house", therefore we were very thorough with our sales practices and commitment to customer satisfaction. I don't know about all dealers but it was common practice in our business if a person hasn't been on the job long enough, 6 months, was the cutoff, then they will need a co-signer, especially if their credit wasn't good. First of all, BOTH people had to sign the papers and we had our own form/notice designated especially for the co-signer stating that if the customer doesn't pay then we WILL collect from the co-signer. We would do this only after making every reasonable effort to get the customer to honor their contract. We did make it clear to the co-signer that they will be just as responsible as the customer, so they can decide if they want to proceed. Although it wasn't desgined for this reason, it actually helped us a lot to ascertain the character of the customer. There's been times that the potential co-signer has actually backed out of signing for various reasons, either they don't want to risk their credit or there maybe some degree of mistrust between the customer and the co-signer. If the co-signer doesn't want to put themself on the line for the customer, at times it was a sign of what kind of customer we're dealing with. Some actually had said "I'm not ruining my credit for you because you don't like to pay your bills!" Then have the nerve to get mad when their own relative/friend won't even help them or trust them! With that being said, something is off with the missing paperwork. How did that happen? Even if your paperwork came up missing, the dealer should have a copy of everything you signed. Did you ask the dealer to see their copy? I would like to add that a lot of people are so in a rush when purchasing a vehicle that they sign papers without fully reading what they are signing, some dealers may like that and to be honest it's on you to read what you're signing. Personally, I would go over everything with them as they are signing, even if they are in a hurry, which I don't understand why some people think buying a car is like buying grocery or clothes, it takes time and they should make sure they are ready to spend at least a couple of hours. I made sure they understood every piece of paper they are signing, the good, the bad and the ugly which is why we rarely had any misunderstandings from customers. I don't know the full story of your experience, but not all dealers are like that. I'm curious as to why the very person repairing your vehicle, the mechanic, would tell you not to buy a car from there. That's strange. If anything, the poor repair work is a reflection of his abilities and that speaks volumes. That's like biting the hand that feeds you.

advocate 4 the people:
You don't know all of the facts, the vehicle was purchased in 2002. Hollywood Motor Co. also deceived the lender in many ways. They work that was done on the vehicle should have been done by hollywood motors if they were an honest dealership.

They wont help because your not a victim of anything. You bought a car. PLain and simple. Now the fact that it was a 1996 Astro Van of all things is your own fault. Dude...its 2009...the van is 13 years old...its gonna break. Also when a salesman of any sort tells you to sign for someone without that someone else being on the contract that is called a "straw purchase" which is illegal in the eyes of a lender... That is about the only leg you have to stand on with the dealer...and to be onest with you thats not gonna fly either...simple answer is ...sir..you bought a car.
