Hollister Rude management

While shopping in your store which is located in the ocean county mall (store #30387), the manager who was on call for the evening named amanda was nothing more than a utterly rude person. during the christmas holidays when emotions run high as it is this manager did nothing to make things run easier in this store. when an employee come up to the desk and is taken in front of peole who have been standing their patienly waiting their turn to be wrung up and when asked if she was going to help anyone else she became nothing which i would consider management material. she began throwing things around slamming draws and things on the counters, not to mention the vulgar language that was coming out of her mouth not only did i hear it but so did serveral other customers. her commment to all of us was that she only had three more weeks and she really didn't care. if this is the type of eople who ou hire to un your business and who are supposed to be the mouthiece of your organization well lets just say if i was a secret shopper or an exective of your company i surely would be greatly disapointed by her behavior and in my opinion shuld/could have been fired on the spot. needless to say my shopping exerience was an unpleasant one and i do not believe i will ever return.

I totally agree! Hollister hires substandard managers. Yelling and screaming seems to be the norm for managers at Hollister! I had to deal with an extremely rude, arrogant and crazy manager when I visited the Hollister Store in Livingston, NJ. She was yelling and screaming as if she was on drugs and it was quite scary to say the least. Her name is Dana and I was surprised to learn that she was a manager! I tried to contact Hollister to complain, but they do not have a customer service person I can talk to. No wonder their employees think they can get away with such abusive, disrespectful behavior!

Hollister Bad Policy

I purchased two tops on 12/02/09. Each was ticketed $24.50. There was a promotion going on two for $36.75. One of the shirts did not fit the recipient. I tried to exchange the shirt for a larger size. The cashier told me I owned $7.64 since the promotion had ended. I said it was for an even exchange and that no other store EVER asked for the difference in price. The store manager only offered that "it is our policy". He also said I needed to return the item for exchange within 14 days - again, "store policy". Around Christmastime? How could anyone possibly buy, give a gift, and expect to return or exchange something within 14 days? Ultimately, the store manager gave me the top for what I had paid for it, but it was an embarassing situation. I vowed I would never shop at Hollister again, but just this morning when I took the top out of the bag in order to ship it to the recipient, I realized the sales person did not remove the security device, so I HAVE to go back to the store against my better judgement. I am telling all the young people I know to boycott Hollister because it is obvious to me that they are being ripped-off by the company because they are not savvy enough to know their rights. Shame on Hollister!

Hollister Treated badly

I was at the Hollister store at Garden state plaza in paramus NJ.

I picked up a core fleece for myself, and had an item to exchange for my dad. at first, I gave the cashier a new item for exchange. However, the price was too high that I told the cashier to wait and brought an another item, which was equal in price, and exchanged the item. then I paid for the price for my fleece and waited until the cashier put the items in the bag. Once the cashier gave the bag to me, I checked the bag to make sure. However, my newly bought fleece was nowhere in the bag. Instead, there was a yellow men's fleece which I previously returned because of its expensiveness. So, I checked my receipt, and there was my fleece which I paid for. So, I told the cashier that she gave me the wrong item, and the cashier even checked the receipt. Then she was telling me that I have to go back to the line and wait for my turn to get my item back. I was like it is not I who made the mistake but you. But she constantly told me to go back to the line and I got so angry. Then the manager came and she looked at my receipt, then in a rude voice, the told me is this the item you returned, so I told her yes. Then she aggressively put the correct item on the cahsier desk and walked away laughing with the dumb cahsier.

I went out and decided not to buy anything in that store where employees do not respect their customers.

Hollister Poor hours and training

So I've recently been hired at Hollister and the first thing you have to do before is obviously buy the uninform. So I came out of pocket $60 for a uniform ( mind you I need this job for a reason -_-) and didn't get my schedule until a week later then when I finally do receive my schedule I find out I only work Saturdays and Sundays for 8 and 5 hours. So I only get to work one lousy Sunday where they just threw me on the floor on the Betty's side (which is the girls' ) with a 50% off Jean and sweater sale all alone in a chaotic mess! To make matters worse I look across the way to the dude's side and there's three girls in there laughing and playing and only three dudes. So the next week on Friday I go in for my schedule and what hours I work on Saturday and turns out I wasn't booked. Hollister is crap and is only trying to rob your pockets and then lay you off. Do not work there.

Hollister Bad customer service/bad policies

Like another complainant on this site, my daughter had selected a shirt to purchase that she really liked, but the store would not sell it to me because it, along with a whole string of others like it, was marked (not conspicuously) for display only - not for sale. It was the only one in her size and I wanted to buy it, but the clerks refused and their only explanation was that they were not allowed to. Way to tick a customer off! I mentioned the incident at another Hollister store, and they advised me that the display only shirts are damaged and therefore not satisfactory for sale. If the first store could have only explained that, I would have been more understanding.

Yesterday my kids made another purchase and received a 25% off coupon. Went to use it today, and the store told me it had already been used - NOT! Way to tick me off again. Can't wait till my kids don't like Hollister's clothes anymore so I don't have to give this store with horrible policies antother cent of my money.

TO: HOLLISTER COMPANY
ATTN: HUMAN RESOURCE

TO WHOM IT TO CONCERN:
I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT YOUR POLICY. CAN CUSTOMERS BUY MORE THAN 20 ITEMS IN THE HOLLISTER STORE? ALSO, ARE YOUR EMPLOYEES SUPPOSE TO INGORE THE CUSTOMERS WHEN THEY NEED HELP?
HONESTLY, I DO NOT MEAN TO COMPLAIN. I JUST WANT TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH.
MY FAMILY REALLY LOVES YOUR MERCHANDISE BUT I WISH YOUR EMPLOYEE STAFFS COULD HAVE HAD A NICE ATTITUDE AND HAVE BEEN MORE HELPFUL. AT 8:27 P.M. ON JULY 05, 2012, WE WENT TO YOUR STORE TO SHOP. YOUR EMPLOYEE, ALISON (ID# [protected]), WORKS IN THE HOLLISTER STORE (#30491) AT 1025 WESTMINSTER MALL, CA 92683. SHE KEPT ON FLIRTING WITH A MAN FOR MORE THAN 20 MINUTES AND DID NOT HELP A LONG LINE OF CUSTOMERS. AFTER THAT, SHE DID NOT DO HER JOB. INSTEAD, SHE JUST WALKED AROUND AND TOLD ALL CUSTOMERS RATHER RUDELY, “EACH CUSTOMER CAN ONLY PURCHASE 20 ITEMS”. I FEEL THAT SHE IS A BAD EMPLOYEE AND THAT THE HOLLISTER COMPANY SHOUD NOT PAY RUDE EMPLOYEES LIKE ALISON.
AS YOU KNOW “THE AMOUNT OF GOOD LUCK COMING YOUR WAY DEPENDS ON WILLINNESS TO ACT: ALSO “SUCCESS USUALLY COMES TO THOSE WHO ARE TOO BUSY TO BE LOOKING FOR IT.”
I WISH YOU GOOD LUCK
REGARD,
AMI DANG

Hollister Awful customer service

I know this company wont care about making it right as the customer service i recieved in a flagship store was beyond awfull the staff were rude in fact i dont actually know if it was there job to make the customer feel as uncomfortable as possible and to have 0 knowledge of the stock and to just stand around chatting while you not only struggle to see and move but find it hard to think as the volume of the music is so loud you would be forgiven for thinking you had walked into some kind of indie bar or club, the unwilling staff are not the only thing letting thm down the shop was layed out badly and people could barely move i do recall a time where only a certain amount of people were allowed in at one time if it was becoming crowded the que was huge and not that i expected an apology anyway due to the vacant expressions on the staffs faces i didnt get one. i am very dissapointed and yes people will always shop there because of the brand name but they could make more sales if they employed commpatent staff which i doubt there is any danger of that happening.so overall i dont reccomend it at all. i just want add i would say to use the internet but...after reading reviews from hollister online shopping i wouldnt bother.

I Agree with you, I was in the Willowbrook Mall Hollister store today and the manager (Will) had a nasty attitude like if you are bothering when you are buying, it looked like he didnt want to do his job. The line to pay was huge then he overcharged me and then he gave me a hard time to override the amount. I tried to get in touch with their customer service and they only accept e-mails...I'm very disappointed.

Hollister Misleading

On December 6th, I received an email from this company promising a $25 gift card for any purchase over $75 before 8pm EST. I placed an order and received a confirmation email at 7:51pm EST. My order total was $87.33. When I called Hollister to inquire about my gift card, I was rudely informed that my merchandise total was only $72.00. I asked if I could add any more to make my total enough and of course the answer was no, and if I return the order, my shipping and handling fees will not be refunded. This company has lost a valuable customer.

Hollister Horrible X-mas Online Shopping - very very poor customer service

Let me start off by saying, I will never shop @ Hollister again. My husband and I experience the worst X-mas online shopping ever! We ordered some items for out son, when the box arrived it was missing items and we received 2 of the same item that we did not as for, only 1. When he makes the 1st call, he was told that an internal investigation needs to be done and we will get the item in January! R u kidding me! The jeans that were on back order will come sometime in January as well. I don't think so. Now, I've had to call and get the run around, no manager will get on the phone with you. I was promised a delivery of today 12/28/10 with a $25 gift card for all my troubles and guest what, still not shirt. I called the corp office and now being told I will get it on Thursday, it's on hold to make sure that the correct item gets shipped. What co do you know of that when u call and ask for a supervisor, one does not get on the phone? I asked for an increase in the gift card for all my troubles and was told "no" $25 is the max. What kind of business are they running? This was our 1st and last experience with this retailer. My advise don't use them and if u must have their clothes go directly to the store.

Hollister display items not for sale

I can't believe Hollister is more worried about their displays than making a Sale... My daughter picked out a little cardigan that was on display... we searched the store with no help from the young man working in the front half of the store who told me he would look but than came up to me and said he couldn't since he couldn't leave the front half of the store... If you are going to have items on DISPLAY they need to be in the store for sale also... THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT... but evidently they can not take any of the items off display even when they have multiplies on display... Sounds like they don't need to make a sale! also thankfully that the one little tank top she found and didn't realize at the time was also marked "DISPLAY NOT FOR SALE" in the "FOR SALE" stacks that after we stood in the long lines they actually did have another one ... to "SALE" to us... of course they had NO CLUE of how it got into the ACTUAL FOR REAL FOR SALE STACK!

Actually...it is because the clothes on the mannequins are ruined because of how much cologne has been sprayed on them. So it actually is good customer service. They won't sell you a defective product.

Hollister Child Denied Use of Bathroom

This evening I took my daughters shopping for clothing. My oldest daughter wanted to purchase a number of items from Hollister . Shortly after we arrived, my daughter gathered numerous items to try, and I was prepared to spend a substantial amount of money as she has outgrown all her clothes. At that time, my 7 year old daughter informed me that she had to use a restroom immediately. I asked the sales associate if my daughter could please use the restroom, but she told me "no". I was shocked and quite disappointed. I told my older daughter to put the clothing down as we had to leave in search of a restroom. We were lucky to leave before my daughter urinated on the floor, which would have been a fine mess for the sales associate to have to clean up.

This Hollister store is located at an outdoor mall. I didn't know where I could find a bathroom, and the sales associate offered no directions or advice. Therefore, I had to leave quickly, load my children in the car as fast as possible and drive to a restaurant where my daughter could use a restroom.

It is a shame that the company does not value its customers. I completely understand that these stores have company policies that don't allow public access to their restrooms, but could it really hurt to let a child use the facility in an emergency situation?

I am so disappointed in my shopping experience at Hollister.

While I can understand being disappointed by it, I feel Hollister is geared more towards teenagers and young adults. Their clientele does not appear to be young children. If requiring a facility is a necessity for you, I would recommend double checking with staff or shopping only at locations that have accessible restrooms.

Their restroom may have been located inside of an employee-only zone (with secure items), and lower level employees generally cannot make exceptions to the rule. I understand your frustration but I also understand the store's policies and sticking to them.

Hollister Money

Purchased $400 worth of clothes with this company and paid through Paypal. I made a mistake and put the right address but the wrong recipient. When I emailed Hollister to ask them to change it they told me they could not and went and cancelled the order without telling me. The real gripe I have is that they are refusing to lift an authorization hold they have on this transaction on their PayPal account which means the money won't be returned to my Paypal account until July 28th 2011. I placed the order on April 29th. This cannot be right.

Hollister Stole my money

After ordering and receiving a large amount of clothing, I noticed one shirt was obviously not worth what I'd spent. I contacted customer service who politely emailed me to ship the item back and they would allow an exchange, refund credit, etc. I opted to just do a credit refund. However, I realized that the card I'd used to make the purchase was no good because that account was closed. I informed them of this before they processed my return. Shortly after, I received an email saying that they were going to credit my account; that they'd received the item. Wow... wait?!? Credit to what account? Can't you mail me a check? My account was closed, remember?

I contacted customer service again who said "Whoops, not our fault. We can't process a credit nor allow an exchange because you aren't able to use the same payment method." Seriously? So, you just made me send back a shirt and you won't give my money back? You literally just stole money from me.

They've sent multiple emails saying I need to contact my bank (which I did and they said they can't do anything because the account is closed and the funds were rejected).

Hollister said they are trained at supervisor level and they cannot help me. So, they took my money, they took my shirt, and hear I sit. I think a lawsuit needs to be started against this company.

I understand your frustration, but this is really YOUR fault. When you opt to return something for a refund credit, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure that your payment method is still sufficient. If you knew the account was closed, you honestly should have asked before the return, or opted for an exchange.

Hollister Discrimination

Good Afternoon .. I am loyal consumer of Hollister clothing. I live in Miami Florida. On Saturday April 30, 2011. Visit as always Hollister Co. store located in the International Mall, Miami International Mall and is visited by many tourists speaking Spanish, and many who live here speak little English, but we're CLOTHING HOLLISTER .. MY COMPLAINT IS AS FOLLOWS:
STORE [protected] NW 107 AVE MIAMI FL 33172) REG.003 TRANS.8873 DATE :[protected]:24 CASHIER: [protected] AMOUNT OF SALE: $ 105.90

I walk the store and take 12 pieces of clothing. When facing the cashier noticed that some prices were not correct, I try to communicate with that person and did not understand what I was saying. I asked him if I had someone who could help and another person who was behind the cashier called Milva Rodriguez turned out to be the manager of the store ... Milva Rodriguez said in Spanish lenguanje NOT HERE NO ONE TO SPEAK SPANISH SO THAT WE IN AMERICA. He turned around and left the place.

QUESTION
ME BECAUSE I SPEAK IN SPANISH AND GAVE NO HELP ME?
I DO NOT HAVE THE SAME RIGHTS FOR NOT SPEAK ENGLISH?
YOUR BRAND IS IN ALL COUNTRIES, AMERICAN OR IS THAT JUST FOR PEOPLE WHO SPEAK THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE?

I felt pretty DISAPPOINTED BY YOU.

I am a 21 year old asian female and I love to shop at hollister for the clothes and usually friendly service until I came to shop at the Hollister Co. in downtown, San Francisco at Westfield Mall. I came in yesterday, May 24, 2010 in the afternoon around 5 o'clock, everything was going well until this one chick decides to start following me, she isnt slick at all. She was breathing down my neck off of everything i was looking at. She followed me around in every section of the store. Is this a way to treat your customers? Company description says that the company focuses on teen clothing, I must have missed the part that said WHITE PEOPLE only because there were plenty of white people shopping around but i didnt see her following them around like dogs! I find her very discriminating and racist! I make more than enough money to pay her by the hour so she really needs to work on her customer service. I will not be going there any longer and i will make sure to it that everyone i know that goes there wont be going there either

Is it official policy that ALL employees must speak botb English and Spanish to work at that store? Did the manager mean to be rude, or was he actually trying to be helpful by telling you that no one in the store could speak Spanish well?

More than likely they were checking to see if you were trying to steal stuff via the fitting room (happens a lot, in just about any clothing retailer). You could have said no. I realize it seems like an invasion but they'd rather be safe than sorry.
Really, in cases like this I have to side with the store, too many people get away with stealing so they /have/ to be this careful. The bad apples spoiled the shopping experience for the rest of the bunch.

True but in Dearborn, Michigan, my first experience with Hollister was that the lady at the changeroom made me open my tiny purse and dug through it. At the time I did not know that it was a violation of my privacy and it seemed like quite a discriminatory act based on my background. Since that day, I was appalled and have never bought anything from Hollister.

While it's a pain in the ### I'm wondering if the sales person thought you were younger and were trying to steal something. I wouldn't take your race into this as every Hollister I've been to has been a melting pot, mainly asians really.
The sales clerks are trained that they have to follow anyone that meanders in the store too long, looks like a teen, or just keeps carrying stuff around while sticking in the back rooms. I've been watched while shopping around but I understand where they're coming from. It's a dark store that has many hiding places, they get stolen from A LOT, so they need to be cautious. Yeah, it is a sucky feeling for those of not doing anything wrong but the old adage "Better safe than sorry" rings true in that buisness.

If something like that ever happens again, just turn to them and say "Can I help you with something?".

Let them know that you see them and what they are doing. If they play innocent and pretend to not know what you are talking about then ask them why they are following you around the store.

Then speak to the manager and tell her how insulting it is. Make sure to send an email or letter to everyone at corporate.

I used to work at a pharmacy where the owner wanted us to do this type of thing. I didn't last long there because I refused to do it.

I had never heard of Hollister clothing but when i saw it i loved it. I went in and found out that they don't have in my size. That makes us big people that were not good enough to wear hollister because we are over weight. I think hollister should start making plus size clothing because its unfair. The same thing with abercrombie they only make certain sizes

I guess since I'm fat I can't wear pretty clothes... I mean, I'm SUUPPEERR curvy. My waist is HUGE but my mid section is medium size I guess... and I can fit into Hollister shirts and stuff fine, but their jeans.. no friggin way. I guess since I'm fat on the bottom, no Hollister jeans for me.. although I fit into a Aero jean fine.. I'm just a loser

I agree with Stealth Pilot 100%. Its ###ed saying that its "unfair" that Hollister doesn't sell plus size clothes. I work at Hollister and its seriously ridiculous and annoying how many people come in complaining that "we dont carry their size". If you dont fit in our clothes it means YOU SHOULDNT BE WEARING THEM. You dont hear people complaining that they cant fit into Torrid or any of the other plus size stores clothes and saying that its unfair so dont start complaining about stores that dont fit plus size people.

Hollister Long Lines

Almost every Hollister store i go into always has a long line that moves very slow. It has been about 3 occasions where i went to purchase something and the line was so long and not moving that i walked out without purchasing the item. I like their clothes, but gosh, not that much. Another time, i waited in line for a good 15 minutes and there was only 2 people in front of me! That is rediculous. There is always only 1 person at the register, 2 at most. If i can suggest something, please have more people checking the customers out.

Hollister - Fake website

Im trying to get my experience out there to prevent anyone else falling vistim to this scam. I ordered Hollister Shirt and T-Shirt for myself off www.hollisteruk.biz. It was no. 1 website on google when I typed in Hollister UK. It turns out this website is a fake as the jacket that arrived was a very poor Hollister rip off. The deduction on my credit card...

Hollister Money scam

I placed an online order at Hollister, however moments after I realized I made a mistake on the order so I called them to see if they could fix the mistake in my billing address, they couldn't so we canceled the order (minutes after it was placed). They STILL have a hold of the money in my checking account. I called them yesterday and they said they put a hold on for 3-5 business days. Why? If I walk into a Hollister store and have some clothing in my hands and then decide that I don't want to buy it, employees don't run up and tell me they have to hold $200 but I can have it back 5 days later.

Hollister Will not honor coupon

Hollister at the Westfield West Covina mall refuses to honor a 20% off Hollister Cali Cash. The coupon is good from 12/02/10 to 12/08/10. I went there to shop at around 7:00pm Pacific time and tried to use the coupon and was refused because the is expired. The reason? The Eastern Time is 10:00pm and the Hollister in the eastern part of the country is closed so the coupon is expired! This is not mention anywhere on the coupon so even though the store in California is still open, the coupon is not good anymore. I've been treated bad there before but I still go there to shop but this is the end of the line. Hollister, you've got one less customer.

Hollister AWFULL, INSULTING CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!!

Ok, first of all, for all of you who are reading this article and are probably facing the same problem I have ( can't find a way to complain about the way Hollister employees treat customers ). Let me start by saying that English is my second language, so I have an accent; very proud of it, I was born and raised in Cuba and have lived in USA for 11 years now ( 8 in California and 3 in San Antonio, TX ). During most of this time I have found the Hollister products (clothing) very comfortable and nice, so I have been an old fan/buyer of their items for these many years. But unfortunately I think my mind just changed and that will not happen anymore; and here is the reason why...
I visited the Hollister store located at the North Star Mall in San Antonio, TX, today October 13th, 2010 at aproximately 01:00pm. I was about to try on a couple of hoodies and asked to please be allowed to use the fitting room; yes exactly in that way: Could I please use your fitting room? then for some particular reason that I still can't figure out the "supervisor" came in and before opening the door she started checking and checking and checking and double checking the items again in all possible ways, and believe me I am not lying if I say she spent like aprox. one minute ( and that is a long time, just think about it) just looking for something that I could have probably hidden inside of the items, and all this happened just in front of me without being discreete at all or without showing the least signs of respect toward the customer. After aprox. a minute or more I felt extremely embarrassed, insulted and mistreated; so I asked her if there was any problem at all, then she replied that no, that she was just doing her job. Then I told her that if she had not noticed that she had being checking and over checking the items for more than a minute and that was very rude and insulting, then she repeated she was doing her job, I wanted to insist by telling her I found that very rude and impolite toward any customer and that she could do that in a more discreete way but she insisted "that was the policy of the company" then I asked to talk to the manager or the phone number of the customer service office, but she and the other female employee operating the register at the moment refused to give me any information at all and then kept me waiting, and waiting for about 15 minutes (she went to the stock room). After this time I talked to the other employee operating the register and asked for the name of that "supervisor" but she also refused to give it to me, in fact she refused to give me her name, the store number or the customer service number. So, I decided to buy an item in order to get the store number on the receipt ( I returned the item inmediately) just to probe them I was not stupid). Realizing I was serious on my intentions, the "supervisor" gave me a card with her name and the other employee's name and also the store number on it. At this point and did not believe her anymore and just told her again that her racist mistreatment, and lack of respect or politeness toward a customer were going to be heard somewhere else and that I was going to make sure this horrible experience would be known by as many people as possible. Because in fact what I believe happens is that due to my accent and origin (latin, hispanic) she deduced and was totally sure that I was shoplifting. I would like to add that I am 42 years old guy, was in the store with my wife and 2 year-old daughter and I am a full-time worker ( self-employed )and student ( attending San Antonio College, nursing program).
The "supervisor's name " is : Crys, and the other employee's name is: Ann ( I believe these are both fakes names). I called the number on the card they gave after waiting and waiting: District Manager: Jaymie Snider [protected], left a message and have not received any response so far.

Well, I am not sure I will be able to reach someone in charge who could somehow avoid that situations like this one are repeated; but I am 100% sure that my money will not be spent in this company again. Let's show some respect toward ourselves here, since we actually are not getting any at all from this company or this particular store full of racist, rude and impolite employees. I HOPE THIS EXTREMELY SAD, UNFORTUNATE AND EMBARRASSING EXPERIENCE WILL NEVER HAPPEN TO ANYBODY ELSE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR READING AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

FLAVIO.
SAN ANTONIO, TX.
