Cattery owner Barbara Redalia sold me a cat with several health issues. Pick her up on Sunday and took her to the Vet. on Monday and she tested positive with Giardia. Called Barbara regarding the Giardia and she said it was from my home and the stress of the move and it would go away without treatment. Then 2 weeks later I took her to the Vet. and she had Ringworm and when I called Barbara again she said it came from my home. All the previous pets I purchased from other breeders NEVER had any health issues like this. Per my Vet, this is not true that Giardia goes away on it's own and my kitten has these health issue from where she came from! My Vet. suggested to treat all of the cats in her home! When I talked to Barbara about treating her pets with medication she sent me an email from her Vet. that my cat and her cats did not need treatment. It took 3 months for her to get well. I'm glad we did not give her back to Barbara because who know what would happen to her and we were attached and loved her.

For the very reason that I didn't want another person to go through what I went through, I filed a complaint with cfa in 2006 after Tuleburg Cattery sold me a kitten with an active respiratory infection and ear mites, because Barbara would not own responsibility, was unprofessional and rude in telling me "I hope you never have any children. They will make you a nervous wreck" when I expressed my concern about the health of the kitten, and two independent vets told me my kitten had acquired these from an unclean cattery. I learned the hard way that catteries are unregulated. These postings are upsetting in that apparently cfa didn't do anything after my complaint, and people continue to be sold sick kittens after all these years. I'm happy to say that the kitten I purchased in 2006 is healthy and still going strong in a very happy home (and I did later have a child who is the joy of my life)

If you have been to Tuleburg Cattery (owned by Barbara Regalia) and was horrified by what you saw- OR if you have purchased an unhealthy kitten: ***PLEASE*** MAKE A COMPLAINT TO SONOMA COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL **AND** ALSO EMAIL A SEPARATE COMPLAINT TO THE CAT FANCIERS' ASSOCIATION (CFA.) ONCE THE CFA HAS RECEIVED THREE COMPLAINTS THEY WILL LAUNCH AN INVESTIGATION. EMAIL ADDRESS IS: CFABreedRescue@aol.com

Wish more people did their homework before they purchase a kitten from her. Lots of people have complained and turned her into the Animal Shelter. They have not shut her down and she is still selling kittens. Thanks everyone for putting your stories on line too.

Barbara sold me a kitten who just died today from FIP. He was only one years old. Please do not buy from this breeder. She should be shut down.

Wow! I bought a kitten in August 2011. He came home and had runny eyes and couldn't stop sneezing. Barbara gave me the same line about stress from the move and allergies to our carpet and we barely have any carpet, which he hadn't even gone on. He then had major bathroom issues for months and was also given medicine by our vet for Giardia. Over several months he had many costly visits to the vet. We also are very attached to our cat, who is very sweet and he has thrived under our care. I am saddened to see so many others having similar issues when I thought it was just me. So glad there is a place to post and possibly warn others.

Breeders like this need to be put out of business. How stupid of a breeder to say that Giardia will go away without treatment. I bought a cat from Dreamquete Cattery in Crown Point, Indiana. The cat tested positive for giardia but had no symptoms. That cat ended up being put down due to genetic deficiencies. Two months later, I had to treat the remaining cat and a new kitten for giardia. The giardia came from the cat that tested positive for it. Giardia can be hard to diagnose and it is easy to cure with the proper medication. A breeder that tells you that it will go away without treatment should not be breeding animals.
