Worked for the company before and got called in the office one day and was told since my production didn't meet their standards and was forced to sign paperwork after getting multiple harassing calls from multiple employees... was immediately taken off hourly and placed on only commission and the commission their were offering was far less than anyone made in the company. Do yourself a favor and never book with these pesty crooks. They'll feed you twice a week then rob you blind. No thanks Book your own vacation and stay away from the big infested bed bug island

I received an invitation to participate and decided to go online and find out any feedback, positive or negative, that may exist on these people before I replied. After reading all of this along with some of the responses of the employees, I have decided to decline their "generous" offer. The negative feed back is 4 to 1 unless you filter out the responses of the employees; and then it is even higher. I will use a reputable travel agency--but I will keep the post card. It is nice...

WOAH, After reading all of these complaints, I can tell none of you actually paid attention. An Owner Update is where you go to a tour, you knew it was called a meeting, which means you have to go somewhere, so why didn't you ask how long it would take and where it would be? I know it's not right to be told something, then something different happen, but READ YOUR CONTRACT THAT YOU ARE SIGNING. That is beyond not smart to just sign something because someone says something, still read.
These people aren't bad people, I am an OPC myself, where I send people on the tours. We help people SAVE money, and even give them free money. The Dinner cruise tickets are FREE, but the cruise has a port charge. You got $120 of that free, but still want to complain about the port charges. If it's that much of a problem, pay the $170 in full next time.
NOBODY has to buy ANYTHING, that is your choice if you buy. and for people saying Timeshare needs to go, you really should take a LONG hard look at Hilton Head Island. Timeshare MADE the Island what it is today, without it, their wouldn't be enough money coming in to support Hilton Head. Their are about 9 Marriott on Hilton Head, and ONLY ONE is not Timeshare. Their aren't very many hotels that are not Timeshare on Hilton Head. So actually thank Timeshare because it helps build the Island you love to come to so much.
And you know whats worse than the "Terrible OPC" bothering you? YOU. We have a job to do, which is based on Commission, one of the hardest sales jobs too btw. I am a College student living on my own, So yeah I want a job I can make as much money and I put into the job, but for some reason, it is extremely hard to talk to people to GIVE THEM FREE STUFF. Their are some rude people, I have had the hand in my face, the being screamed at, and it's not okay for you people to act like that. You say how bad the company is, but you are treating people worse. I give away free stuff, and get screamed at for it.
Pay attention and ask questions next time you get into a situation AND READ YOUR CONTRACT, otherwise it's all on you, and nobody should feel sorry.

Thanks so much for all this helpful info on this site. I was told by my bank to look up Hilton head resort scams and this site was one on the list. I acted very quickly called my bank cancelled my credit card in time before they processed the transaction from what my bank said it wasn't a pending transaction so they wont be able to complete a frauded sale . Its sad really, I wonder if their sales team is aware that the company they work for is not honest!

The negative comments about Hilton Head Guest Services are totally justified. I recommend accepting the "independent" reports of multiple dissatisfied customers, and NOT the phony posts by HHGS employees!

My wife and I WERE owners at Coral Resorts - Island Links. They DEFRAUDED us in November of 2010. Even though we were OWNERS... we were unable to schedule a visit to Hilton Head in 2011, that is... until VacationPlay called us in May 2011.

They offered us four days and three nights at Park Lane for about $99, which would be returned to us after our "new owner" meeting with the saleman that sold us our timeshare in 201o. Not only did we agree... but we added another night for about $90. I think our total investment was about $189.

AT NO TIME WERE WE TOLD OUR VISIT WOULD INCLUDE A TOUR OF CORAL SANDS, yet our "e-mail confirmation" stated that we had agreed to just that! No big deal. Right?

Wrong!

We found out in late June (2011) that Coral representatives had in fact committed fraud against us, by falsifying our purchase contract to say "triennial" instead of the ANNUAL ownership we had agreed to. We have subsequently found out (primarily through the internet) that this is a common fraud perpetrated at Coral.

We have taken the following steps thus far:

1. Filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau [BBB].
2. We voided our contract, and sent a "Demand for Payment" per South Carolina Code Title 27 - Chapter 32; Section 200 & 210 [which is easily accessible for FREE on the internet].
3. We are currently in the process of writing a letter to the South Carolina Real Estate Commission to utilize the "Recovery Fund" to recoup our losses.

We also TRIED to cancel our August 2011 trip to Hilton Head (scheduled through VacationPlay), but we were told the purchase was NON-REFUNDABLE!

End of story?

No.

Today we received a call from Hilton Head Guest Services telling us our money had been refunded and our trip had been cancelled! Mind you... this was only about 10 days before we were supposed to go to the beach.

Did they explain that our reservation was being cancelled due to our numerous complaints? No. They said we had agreed to participate in their "HOP Program" (or something to that effect), and that we had agreed to bring another couple with us. Since their records indicated we had NOT made reservations for another couple, and since no more rooms were available... they had no other option but to cancel our reservations.

Yeah... right!

Is any of this "crap" true? Unlikely!

I can certainly say that not only did we NEVER agree to participate in a tour... we NEVER agreed to participate in a program where we would bring another couple with us.

Further... the phone number we had been provided in a message on our answering machine was in fact a toll free number to Coral Resorts' Owner Referral Line.

The HHGS employee denied any involvement with Coral Resorts, and even claimed she was in another state.

Needless to say... all of it is rather suspicious.

Regardless... we are GLAD our reservation was cancelled, as we had NO DESIRE WHATSOEVER to even set foot on Coral Resorts' property... let alone take a tour or "trade up" to a timeshare at Coral Sands.

The whole thing is a tangled web of deception intent upon ripping off consumers!

In fairness to the HHGS folks though... most of them are really nice, and they are probably oblivious to their function within the total scheme of everything. They are merely pawns or tools used to bring "pigeons" to the timeshare pirates!

[Argh, matey! There be pirates in Hilton Head!]

AVOID all of these entities until the State of South Carolina and the United States government can clean up the timeshare industry! Their business practices are WORSE than the used car salemen of bygone years. They are in fact predators... looking to STEAL your hard earned money!

I just got off the phone with a lady that was very friendy (but pushy). She wanted me to wake my husband. She said I could not call her back nor could she call me back. She said "what if I make it worth your while to wake your husband? " I told her she "couldn't make it worth while to wake my husband". She told me to "have a nice day" and quickly hung up on me.

I just got off the phone with a woman pitching the package to me. I thankfully found this website while on the phone with her. After reading several of the posts, I told her that I was no interested but appreciated her time and to please be removed from the computer, so that I would not be contacted anymore. After three polite attempts to end this conversation and have my information removed from their system, I had to get very stern with her, she finally got the point and hopefully I will not get anymore calls from them. I understand she is just doing her job, but no means no. I work night shift so these calls are very annoying, if I want to take a vacation, I will set it up myself. After reading the posts that appear to be from Hilton Head Guest Services, I can see why people would be unsatisfied. They are very poorly written, I am certainly not the best writer in the world but if I am being paid to respond to these complaints by my company, I would def. proof read and at least spell check. These posts really do not help this company, if anything shows incompetence and unprofessionalism. After reading the post from the lawyer, maybe they should just pay him to keep responding to these posts and not let their employees near the computers.

Thank you,
Annoyed sleep attempter

Hilton Head Guest Services is the best vacation co. I have ever met. They have a friendly staff and always ready and willing to go the extra mile to make your vacation better and more enjoyable. I and my hole family have been vacationing with them for over 5 years, and every time when we go to Hilton Head Guest Services we feel like going home. I don't know what all this people problem is, but I think they did not listen to Hilton Head Guest Services or Coral Resort Services offers and they created a fantasy in their mind and got disappointed. But Coral Resorts as well as Hilton Head Guest Services tell you over the phone everything before you even agree with there terms and conditions and they even send you a mail and e-mail with everything written black on white. But one time when I was checking in, there was a couple that had no idea what was written on the letter send by Hilton Head Guest Services containing all the vacation details and this letter was serving for check-in purposes also. The couple was asking the front desk representative questions that were answered in the letter. That's how I figured out what is the case. So, I strongly advise you to draw your conclusion based on your own experience, like me. And not always what other people say is true. Have a fantastic vacation, Hilton Head Island, SC is a gorgeous vacation Paradise Island. Thank you.

Hilton Head Guest Services, vacationplay.com. Hilton Head Guest Services is the best co. to book your vacation with. Hilton Head Hospitality/Hilton Head Guest Services offers a wide range of vacation options, some include a timeshare tour if you want to pay almost nothing for your vacation or you can pay a discounted price for your vacation and not go on any timeshare tour, but still get most of the perks and discounts that you can use on the Hilton Head Island while you vacation. Hilton Head Guest Services, Hilton Head Hospitality, LLC, vacationplay.com tell you up front everything and do not lie to you. If you got charged $200 on you timeshare tour vacation on Hilton Head, that is because you did not respect the agreement of attending the tour or you attended the tour but your spouse did not or you did not stay till the end of the tour. The Hilton Head Hospitality/Hilton Head Guest Services/Coral Resorts sales people are friendly and they only show you the resort and of course they would like you to buy, but if you don't, that is OK, it is not mandatory of course. Hilton Head Guest Services hope you had a fabulous time with them and on your vacation on Hilton Head and spread the word about the Coral Resorts offers. A Hilton Head Guest Services, Hilton Head Hospitality, LLC, vacationplay.com sales person can tell in the first 5 min if you are interested or not so it would be non-sense for them to pressure you if you're not a buyer. But Hilton Head Guest Services, Coral Resorts respect that and give you gifts. Everything people say in this comments and complaints is not true, because they either did not listen at all what they've been told, or they ignored everything and payed smart by trying to get the cheap or free vacation, but not do the timeshare tour. That's always the case, people want everything and don't want to do nothing. If you are that kind of people, than just book a discounted vacation at minimum price that only Hilton Head Hospitality/Hilton Head Guest Services/Coral Resorts can offer you, being the biggest vendor on Hilton Head Island and you won't have any reason to complaint. Thank you and have the best vacation ever.
I say chose Hilton Head Hospitality, LLC, vacationplay.com, Hilton Head Guest Services for your next vacation on Hilton Head Island, SC.

@ W. Nichols...The GM of the Anniston sales office has explained to you numerous times what the fee was for. There are only a few reasons why a guest would be charged the $200.00 fee after travel. You and your wife obviously didn't fulfill the 90 minute obligation. You state that you were told different stories about the fee, I'm just curious as to why you don't specify what exactly you were told.

I did have $200 stole from me by Hilton Head Guest Services. My wife and me went to the companys presentation site and a sales presentation was made to us. We were NOT impressed and did not like the attitude of the salesman. However we DID NOT REFUSE to take the tour. Even though we felt it was a ripoff we would actually have liked to see the Coral Sand units . When we told them we did not think this deal or Coral Sands facilities was what we wanted we were presented with some 2nd rate meal tickets and rushed out. We ony found out that the $200 was stole from our credit card when we got the bill. We got a different story about why the $200 dollars was charged to our credit card every time i talked to them. They told the credit card company another story. After I posted the details of this on several consumer complaint sites I got a letter from there attorney. He said that they would give us $100 back if we would pull the postings and refrane from calling Hilton head Guest Services. We want our $200 returned but I have no intention of removing my post.

For the ones above who claim the company "stole " $200 from them, it is a lie! When someone purchases a package, it clearly states in the welcome letter that you will be charged a $200 fee in the following events: if both spouses do not do the 90 minute tour of the resort, or if you get to the island and do not meet the age or income requirements that are confirmed at the time the package is purchased, if a guest makes reservations and does not show. This is all clearly discussed with guests at the time they purchase the package.

Hilton Head Guest Services, Guest Services, Vacation Play Resort Quest etc are not the kind of companies that you want to have dealings with. Under no circumstances would I let them have my credit card or credit card number. In my opinion they will lie, cheats, steal. And they are not very nice either. Do not believe them with the overpriced timshare offers. Based on our experience I believe they are a sorry den of thieves. They know how to play the credit card companies to scam customers out of thier money. They stole $200 from us. When I complained to the Savannah Better Business Bureau I was told I would have to appear in Savannah at a hearing. I refused because it would cost far more than $200 to travel to that city and pay for lodging. I have not given up on getting my money back, However, now I spend my senior years warning others to beware of Hilton Head Guest Services. The above names are just some of the names they go by. If they have done you wrong take action. Contact others and tell them how they treated you. We all need to do our part to expose Ripoffs, Fraud and Scams.

We went to Hilton Head and booked with the intentions that we were staying at a condo. Well we ended up staying at Comfort Inn, which I could have booked on my on and would have still had my $200 bucks that they have on hold right now (9/15/2009) after I asked the associate what did you need it for and she said ID. . . .truthfully I am pissed. Very dishonest organization, I was blantly lied to. I asked the representation about what my card was going to be used for and she said "JUST FOR ID". She asked for the card and my license. Would not recommend this company to anyone if you don't have $200 bucks to blow. And if you are wondering did we attend the condo presentation trying to make the best of the weekend. My wife did go and was told that you had to be married. . . which she was but I wasn't present so that the representative said that they could reschedule. . .no problem. . . obviously that was bull because they took $200 bucks from me. . . . .Horrible company. . hustlers!

Nothing but lies & problems. The person who sold me this on the phone actually told me 4 different times that my hubby and I would not have to participate in any tours or sales pitches. They just wanted us to "check out" this brand new hotel... Park Lane. Well all of that was a lie... it was a dump... way too far away from the beach/no shuttle as promised & of course there was the Coral Sands thing... BEWARE... they go by many different names, but the game is the same... "oh, we just want to 'gift' you for visiting HHI." They make it sound like they're government agents or something. Take their money & listen to the crap they try to sell you, but DO NOT BUY! My mom bought those stupid RCI points & got majorly screwed... just don't do it.

I would have to disagree with you on your "alleged" experience with Hilton Head Guest Services. I have traveled with the company for several years now and I go to at least one new place each year and never purchase anything. I sit through the time share spills patiently and when my 90 minutes is up I walk out even if they are still talking. By law the most that any of these mini vacation places can obligate you to is 90 minutes. After that if you continue to listen to their sales pitch, then you are on your own time. My experience with their customer service is excellent. I have never been promised anything that I didn't recieve. They give great promotional prices on some truly fabulous vacation spots. I have found that I can have a lot more money in my pocket to spend on vacation if I let them pay for most if not all of my accomodations. The hotels that they put you up in have all been excellent. I have never been disatisified with any part of the packages that I have recieved. There are some companies that will try to sell you a vacation packages and tell you that they are free but beware of those because less money usually doesn't mean better quality. I would rather sleep in my car than in some of those places and I have been burned by those types of scams but I can honestly say not with Hilton Head Guest Services. Perhaps if you felt scorned or done wrong then you should have contacted their general manager or even the president of the company that information is easily accessible as it is posted on the web. Just because you had one bad experience please don't let that be what makes up your mind. No company is perfect and you can't please everyone all of the time. However, I feel that this is one company who does strive to treat their customers right. Hope that this sheds some light on this subject for you...
