I also heard an advertisement on the radio for Homeowners Legal Assistance (I have found out they do business under multiple names). I looked it up on the Internet and did not find any bad publicity on this company so I called them. They said they could cut my payment in half and reduce the interest rate. I really needed this as I had an old contract that was still at 10% interest. They took my money on June 10th, I called on June 17th and they told me to just call back once a week for an update. I called on the 24th but just got voicemail. Left messages multiple times. Then called on July 10th and received the message they were in temporary receivership. Now I guess we just get left out in the cold? If anyone else is out there that has answers on how we the ripped off consumer can pursue getting our monies back I sure would like to hear from you. Please reply on this site and I will follow up with you.
