Hit Web Design Won't give me a refund

OH MY, , , Where do I start? I hired them to do a website for me and after not being contacted for 11 days after I paid 1/2 up front, I called them and asked them what the status of the site was. I had to do all of the work as in, , begging for a web designer to start, product entry, blog etc.
I was assured that it would be a great site. Well, guess what? The web designer Chelsea Oldham made a mock up page for me to look at, , it was cute, but very distorted. I designed my OWN logo, sent it to them, and they couldn't ever seem to work on my site ever again. I was promised my website by two weeks., , , well, a month later, they tried to charge me the second half of the full amt. Little did they know is that I changed my bank account#. LOL, , , boy, , they sure did have the time to call me to ask why they couldn't get the money out. I also purchased a blog and NO work was ever done on that. I cancelled after a month of hiring them and now they say that there is no refund. I spent 895.00 of my money, , for nothing. Carlos Kidman is the (Senior Customer Service Agent), don't even mess with talking to him, , , he is one slippery eel! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and with the Attorney General of Utah about this company. Buyer Beware, , , this is not a reputable company. I am going to bring them back to Illinois to sue them. CARLOS KIDMAN told me that I would have to come to Utah to sue them, , , sorry Carlos, you will soon be seeing the cornfields of Illinois! Attached is the crappy job, , , wow... WARNING, , , please stay away from HIT, , , they will HIT your bank account and give you nothing in return.

FYI: The Heraldextra did not check out any facts and therefore its new release is flawed and primarily the words of a criminal defense attorney as well as other releases using this information.

One must ask who Sonny Olsen actually represents? Kevin Morrill i.e. isowebworks etc or Heritage Management Services, LLC aka Heritage Web Solutions aka Hit Web Design aka David Aiken, Mark Strong, Leah Young, Eddie Dockery, Bradford Stone? Remember that Kevin Morrill was a key management member of HIT and is family related to David Aiken. He claims to have quit March 4, 2011, the day that employees at Hit were made aware of the lies that were being told. Kevin claims to start up a new company within 4 days with 20 new employees from HIT. That takes a lot of capital, equipment, software and leads etc.
Why has Sonny Olsen participated in a campaign to clear Kevin Morrill and isowebworks. Isn’t this a conflict of interest?

Kevin Morrill told employees he was in the same boat as them. Kevin did not sleep in his car in the freezing cold because he was locked out of his apartment because he was not paid his wages. Kevin Morrill did not beg for patience to keep a roof over his head because he was not paid his waged for weeks and weeks. Kevin Morrill was paid.

One must ask how much money was taken from people under false or misrepresentation of products or services when the tax bill is 17.1 million. If 17.1 is representative of a 20 percent tax that would make the take $204 million dollars from around the world. Not to mention the Hatti donations that HIT took from its employees and the public. No one has released any confirmation that the funds taken in for Hatti actually went to Hatti. HIT web pages requesting donations for Hatti were up days before its closing and were taken down quickly upon notice of a criminal investigation. Is this a coincidence?

HIT’s web pages for sales leads remained up and running for days before posting a notice of its closing.

Any former customer of HIT who has been contacted by Isowebworks, PPC Management or any related company should contact the Utah County Attorney’s office directly.

Ask yourself if the same people are running a new company with the same equipment, the same people, the same software that they have placed their new logo on, why would you expect different results?

Hit Web Design failed to deliver

We are in the midst of the worst business relationship we have ever entered in to. On December 19, 2009, we paid HIT Web Design $2, 800 of a $5, 600 estimate to provide us with a website for a new product. We were told by the salesman, Nathan Golden, that it would take about 60 days. In arranging the coordination of the product rollout, we allowed 90 days for web development. It is now almost May, 2010, and there is no website in sight. Why? I have no idea, but I can offer these experiences to you.

1. I have been assigned 5 account managers in less than 5 months. The current manager, Ryan Sneed, has never logged into FundElert to see what is going on, and he has never replied to any of my emails or phone calls.
2. Our site has been broken down into 6 tasks, with a different person assigned to each task - text writing, database development, page layout, integration and flash development. After each task is signed off as complete, don't hold your breath waiting for the next task to be assigned to someone.
3. Overall, I can say that customer service is responsive by sympathizing with us and putting us on to someone who can help; however, after an initial conversation with that person, they cannot be counted on, and they do not return phone calls or emails.
4. Getting through to HIT management is impossible. They are better insulated than the worst third world dictators.

In 40 years of business, I can honestly and accurately say that deciding to hire HIT was one of the worst decisions we have made. I suggest HIT change their name one more time - HIT need another letter in it, preferably right in front of the H.

Utah County, State of Utah is one of the leading places nationwide in white collar crimes that go un-prosecuted due to a lack of funding and allocated resources.

The Utah County Attorney cannot or will not investigate nor prosecute a crime without a police report. Once they receive a report, they must choose which cases to pursue. NSF checks payable to employees or consumers are low on the list. They refer the lack of payment of wages to the Utah Labor Commission. They refer the NSF check to customers to their local police department. The local police department refers the victim to the police department where the business does business, which in this case is Provo Police Department.

Consumers must file a police report before the County Attorney can even consider the case regarding the taking of funds from account without authorization, the promise to deliver services and the keep of funds paid even though the services are never delivered or delivered satisfactorily.

The Utah County, Provo Police Department discourages the filing of police reports, claiming that the victim has to prove intent. They have also informed individuals that they can take the report, but that the County Attorney will just send it back to them and do nothing.

The Attorney Generals office gives out this response:

“Thank you for writing to the Utah Attorney General's Office. The Attorney General’s Office is counsel to the state agencies. A case would have to be referred by a state agency in order for this office to get involved as we can only advise our client agencies. The Labor Commission is a state agency and they would have to refer a case to our office in order for us to get involved and we would represent them in court.

I trust you will find this helpful.”

The BBB take reports, it does not resolve them nor does it possess any authority to do anything about the complaints. It has been under investigation for buy outs for improved ratings, though this company has the lowest rating it can get. Filing a complaint with the BBB make the complaints available to anyone using the BBB as a reference, however the marking of the complaint as resolved does not necessary mean to the satisfaction of the Consumer.

EMPLOYEES WHO HAVE NOT BEEN PAID:

You can continue to work for the company and file a wage claim. If you have not been paid, we encourage you to really think about why you work for free. The claim that you will not get paid any faster if you file a wage claim is simply not true. In addition to your wages, you will also be entitled to receive ½ of the 5% daily penalty. You can contact the division of labor at [protected] if you have any questions. You can fax it for $0.98 at http://www.gotfreefax.com/. Even if you work outside he state of Utah, you should file your wage claim with the Utah Division of Labor as the company is within its legal jurisdiction. Other rules may apply to your state, we suggest that you contact your states labor division for any questions.

If you live in Utah you can file for unemployment benefits for just cause of non-payment of wages. A partial wage is not a full wage and therefore qualifies as non-payment of wages. Contact the Utah Unemployment Services at [protected] or Apply on line at https://jobs.utah.gov/ui/InitialClaims . You will need to register for work through the Department of Workforce Services at https://jobs.utah.gov/sso/login.aspx?application=UWORKS&returnurl=%2Fjsp%2Futahjobs%2Flogin.do

The unemployment office will tell you that they need to review your case before making a decision to see if you qualify. You should be aware that the unemployment claims of those who have left this company for Non-sufficient fund payroll checks and/or, non payment of payroll have been approved. There is usually a 1 week delay before benefits begin. The amount of benefits that you may receive is determined on a case by case basis. You may speak with a representative of the Utah Unemployment Services to help you determine the amount of benefits you will receive.

Many employees who have left the company have found new jobs and are much happier due to the elimination of the stress of not know if or when they will be paid.

CONSUMERS THAT HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PRODUCT or ARE DISSATISFIED WITH THE SERVICE:

You may file a civil suite for failure to deliver services/product in a timely and workmanlike manner with the Utah County Justice Court. The small claims court address is:

310 West Center Street
Provo, UT 84601

Main Telephone: [protected]
Main Fax: [protected]

Forms are available at

http://www.utcourts.gov/howto/smallclaims/

Filing Fees

Small Claims
$2, 000 or less (1)(c)(i) 60.00
Greater than $2, 000 and less than $7, 500 100.00
Greater than $7, 500 and less than $10, 000 185.00

Amounts over $10, 000.00 are filed through a civil proceeding in the Utah County District Court, located in Provo Utah.

If you live out of state or cannot travel to appear in court, contact the court and request to appear telephonically. You must appear either in person or over the phone. If you fail to appear the your case may be dismissed.

Contact your credit card company and file a claim for reimbursement of non-deliver of a product. Ask for a new credit card to prevent any further payments for being debited.

If you used a debit card, contact your financial institution and request a stop payment on any transaction from this company. Request that your account number be changed due to unauthorized debits.

Keep in mind that this company will use the contract against refunding any payments.

The (TOS) Terms of service that states

7. Intellectual Property Policy

Domain names purchased by HIT and website designs, databases, stores, or programs created by HIT are the property of HIT until Client has paid all fees including one full year of monthly hosting. (See Domain Names Purchase/Hosting Agreement

11. Completion Timeframes
Client understands, agrees and acknowledges that HIT does not guarantee a time frame for completion of ANY website.

34. Cancellation Fee and Refund Policy

MINIMUM CANCELLATION FEE – Client agrees that a minimum cancellation fee of 50% will be retained by HIT on all cancelled accounts even if no work has been started.

100% cancellation fee will be retained and NO REFUND will be issued by HIT if Client cancels after 90 days from the initial sale

No Refund will be issued on any website cancelled after services have been rendered, including but not limited to, the design work having been completed and/or the website taken live.

Beware of any contract that states:
• cancellation fee of 50%.
• does not guarantee a time frame for completion.
• no refund after 90 day of initial sale.

Such a company is not under any pressure to perform, they postpone the work as long as they like and then claim that it is past the 90 days and you are not entitled to a refund. There are plenty of developers out there that will not have you sign a contract such a contract. An ethical company would provide a full refund, if services are not rendered, they would also deliver a product to the full satisfaction of the purchaser.

Be advised that this company does not own the web servers that the sites are hosted on. At present they lease the server space through Fibernet, they use freeware OS and server software. Their contract locks you into payment of one year of web hosting through them or you do not own your site.

This contract is too one sided and not for mutual benefit of all the parties. Stay away from it.

OTHER INFORMATION:

This company owes more than 8.5 million in taxes running back to 2006. They owe approximately $340, 000.00 in back wages with a bimonthly payroll of $120, 000.00 or $240, 000.00 per month. Plus they have a judgment against them for $44, 000.00 from Aetna Health. They have no assets and lease a run down bowling alley.

They receive an estimated $600, 000.00 in monthly merchant transactions.

The inside set up resembles a boiler room. It does not presently look like the pictures on its site. It is fairly dark inside because most of the lights are off. Carpet is torn and unclean. The treatment of its employees has been described like a sweat shop. Several employees have lost everything and have become homeless due to the non-payment of wages.

Hit Web Design unauthorized charges/taken ownership for things that they don't do, like website design

I have taken the time to read all the complaints on here and I wish I would of read up on Hit Web Design formly known as Heritage web design (HIT) before calling them. I feel your pain. This company did unauthorized transactions on my bank account back in 2009. After giving them my account information I had a really hard time getting in contact with them. Finally when I am able to speak to someone, I told them that I wanted to cancel my account and they gave me a hard time. Then finally they said that my account was canceled and that no money would be taken from my account, then months later money was taken out of my account without my authorization. This company is a Scam! BAD BUSINESS! BAD NEWS! They have went so far as to say that I got my logo from them and my domain name from them which I didn't. I went through 2 different company for that. The most recent thing they are trying to take credit for is : I have Designed a Website for my business and they are saying that they are the ones that did all the work. WHAT KIND OF COMPANY DOES THIS? BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE. (HACKER)

Hit Web Design no website built

Paid 1250.00 for 1 year hosting and to bulid a custome website for me. I was interviewed by a salesman promising me custom graphics and anything else I wanted for 1250.00. I gave him all of my information and was told they would handle it. It was all lost then I was asked for website's I liked and had to give them examples of what an appliance website repair and parts purchase should look like, so since they couldn't google sears or whirlpool to (common sense) to get an example I gave them 5 total websites. Then they gave me a pass and pin # to which I could recieve no emails at all until the website has been built. A few weeks went by and another rep called after 8pm and said I needed to fill out all this information, so basically I'm doing the work and the drag and drop text, I was pissed but I said fine, I did that and then they said the had no pictures, so I said you can't find a picture of some appliances on the internet and use those? So I ended up finding them for them, I may as well have built it myself. So finally the logo guy calls Vao, he's nice I explain all this he says he's sorry, wants to build my logo. So I say your the professional design something and I'll tell you if I like it, he can't want's an example so we go through that, then he says I'll have it in 2 days, let me know ok I say. I get his email and say fine it will work, 3 weeks lated I get a call on what design he made that I liked I say I sent it 3 weeks ago if you didn't get it why didn't you call me? So at this point the logo isn't really what I want but I agree just to be finished so the project can move on. Then Mike emails me saying he doesn't know what to put on what page an I don't have enough to fill up 3 pages, so I get mad and say I used to care now I don't even care if I have a website anymore, So I tell him just forget it cancel it, you guys promised 2-3 weeks (per slippery salesman) and it's been 6 at this rate it will be a year by the time this is done. So Carlos calls me he knows I'm pissed says he needs to review it, 2 weeks rolls by no call from him, so have to call him again mind you everytime you call its a 40min wait and most of the times you get to leave a message at that point which I've dealt with all along. He emails me back because he's busy with a client 5 hours later for me to call the 40min customer service number. Bottom line I still have no refund and he has the gall to want to work this out and still create the site even though he knows I do not, like I've changed my mind. It's been almost 2 months I have no website I don't even have a link of coming soon which I was promised 7 weeks ago, so I am paying to advertise a dead link to no website. Their customer service is piss poor 40 min waits and you are called when they have nothing else better to do late at night makes you feel like a real important customer. I still have no refund, apparently only Carlos can handle this like I believe that, so I have had no service from or work to show from this place nothing and he is trying to tell me I will be charged for their work HAHA what a joke, everyday they wait I find another website or way to post what they did to me to warn others of their unprofessionalism. Stay away from heritagewebdesign aka hitwebdesign.com they have a ton of BBB compliants against them and you can't talk to any upper management to get anything resolved they keep them out of the loop on what goes on, because I've asked to speak to CEO or President and they can't give me the information as usual!

I am glad I came across this. I have been speaking to them for the past 3 weeks via persistent calls from them. I finally agreed and the rep said he was going to charge to my card on file which was strange, because I haven't given out any card yet. Now I get another email saying my card on file didn't go through and to contact them.
I decided this morning to find out more about them and lo & behold this. I am a 1-Man carpet cleaning company with no secretary or employees. Can you imagine the trouble I will have been put through calling and chasing them for them to deliver all the good things they are promising. Thanks Guys for saving my life and that of my wife who has lost her job for the past 2 years and not been successful looking for one, with 3 kids - 4, 3, & 1 year old.

Hit Web Design fraud / ripoff / thievery

Hit web designs (formally heritage web solutions) is a fraudulent company that outsources their work to third parties, who "rush" the projects they're assigned. I personally bought a website and after a year of unprofessionalism, all I can say to anyone looking to have a website built for them is... Beware of hitweb! They do half-assed work and then charge you for it. After a year, my website is not done and doesn't appear to be done anytime soon. I'm in the process of switching to another company, something that I shouldn't have had to do... I'm out of $2, 500 usd for a half-assed unprofessional website.

Beware of hitweb!

Do not fall for their cons!

Your money will be stolen by them!

But your work will never get done!

Btw... They offer no refunds!

Heritage is a GIANT FRAUD. All they ever did was have various account managers contact me and send me questionnaires to fill out so they could create my perfect website. They also kept telling me that I needed additional features and kept charging my credit card for them.

Once I would fill answer all their questions and send them CD's with photos and logos for my business, I would then be contacted by a different account representative who would tell me that the last account rep was no longer available, and I had to begin all over again with sending photos and filling out questionairres. This happened too many times to count, but in the end it was all just a huge delaying tactic.

I NEVER GOT A SINGLE THING FROM THEM. The only thing they did was to hijack my domain account from Godaddy and I was without email capability for weeks. They kept promising me at least a splash page, but months went by and they never delivered a thing.

I managed to get my money back, but only because I began recording all my conversations with them and also had my credit card company intervene when I provided them with all the information showing what a fraud they were. It was a nightmare!

BBB did absolutely no good at at all, as they have their butts covered so completely legal wise -that seems to be the ONLY thing they DO care about. Karma is Good and will come to pass on them.

Totally true!

What a bad - bad - bad company, with no ethics!
I was promised so many things by upper management-
{ Yes, I took my case to upper management - after struggling through a year of half [censor] work.. frustrating communication and straight out lies by " project managers" more aptly titled "upsellers" ... { a year - mind you, when they initially promised a 3 to 5 week completion time for my site.}
-that were bold faced lies.

Do not listen to what seem to be promises. They don't care to care for their customers at all. They just want to shut you up and confuse the situation to create loopholes and tire you out.
Ugh.

So it's been two years since they did the same thing to me and I still can't believe what a nightmare it was. I gave up on my site in the end, and lost 1200 to them for technicalities. That contract is business rape. Read it before you sign.

My site -not for one day- never went live.

Ugh again.

I just thought of them now while washing dishes and decided to check and see if they had reduced their level of complaints in the last 2 years. 2008 to 2010.

Nope. They just changed their name.

So sad to see. Dude, stay away from Heritage Web, { Now HIT} Such a terrible experience awaits.

I have no idea how companies like them get away with screwing people so blatantly. I'm just trusting in Karma.

BBB is prolly good too.

Hit Web Design no work was done! No website, no nothing

These guys promise to design a website for you for $199. They pop up at the top of the Goggle search results. You will get a customer service rep in 2 rings who immediately up-sells you to a 5 page website for $500. Then lotsa luck. You can't get thru to anyone- let alone the so-called and probably non-existent "web designer" assigned to you. (Mine was Haley Jones) They will go to great lengths to try to pacify you. You will receive multiple emails asking "How are we doing"-but do not be fooled. No work will be done on your behalf. They will give you an unending supply of excuses. And constantly try to up-sell. Just to milk more money out of you. After 5 weeks I had yet to be presented with a proof. Beware their Terms of Service! Written by attorneys to skirt the law. If you try to cancel they will lay claim to 50% of any deposits you may have made. Beware! And run for the hills! Do NOT do business with them.
I finally had Citibank CANCEL my CC # and filled out an affidavit detailing their deceit.

This person is telling the truth.

DO NOT consider doing business with this "company."

They are only legal because they haven't got caught yet.

Provo Police must be getting hush money because they don't care. I even wrote the police chief. No response. I wrote the mayor. He was nice and said he'd look into it.

The attorney general's office will be of no help.

Lawyers will be of no help.

Drive or fly there and maybe you can refuse to leave their offices until you get repaid.

Learn from the people here who have lost hundreds, thousands of dollars.

Hit Web Design Fraud and Defamatory remarks

I find it extremely unsettling that Kayden Jensen and Spencer Paulson Of HitWeb Design along with Brian and Paul would stoop to such lows as to claim that 7 or 8 out of every 10 working at their company were Mormons...Especially in light of the fraud they have perpetrated upon me since November of 2009. It would appear that despite using email to communicate with them and having a trail of evidence which would normally convict the simplest of criminals, they are determined to walk free with the nearly $1500 I paid to them for a complete website build. I havent heard from them since the 2nd of March 2010. Since November 25th 2009 they have invested maybe 5 hours in the website I contracted them to complete. They exhibit the utmost disrespect and coarseness I have ever encountered in business by lying thru their teeth and refusing to provide the most basic customer service.

Worse is that they have improperly lied and spoken defamatory remarks about members of another religion by implying that the 7 or 8 out of 10 people who work at Hit Web are Mormons...In my intitial conversations with Spencer and then Kayden, they said because the ratio of those who work there is so high with Mormons they are honest professionals with whom anyone would be pleased to do business with them..and of course having known some Mormons who have fit that discription ie...honest, professionals, diligent and reliable of course I believed the hogwash they fed me...and bought in hook line and sinker.
Give me $1, 000, and I'll give you results." Those were the words David Aitken used to convince the owners of The Heritage Group to invest in his idea . . .
Well ...read this carefully people...David Aitken apparently may have convinced his employees to steal $1500 from me pretty much like he convinced his investors if he infact acquired any, to give him a $1000.
Anyone who wants to contact me for information about the nightmare I have had with this company please email...[protected]@hotmail.com

I payed 200 dollars to have flash buttons put on my site. After a month of going back and forth with customer service they told me it was already completed when the work never started. They said when you hover over the buttons they flash green and I told them thats been doing that for 4 months. They wont refund me they said they just did that even though the technician says he didn't do anything. Heritage Web Solutions now known as hit wont help me. I have sent tons of emails to all their complaint departments they will most likely post after I post this saying contact there 800 number and or email them at customerservice@hitwebdesign.com or qca@hitwebdesign.com or ceo@hitwebdesign.com Trust me you have to send tons of emails to those three emails to get a response. I have called them so many times for help and they wouldn't help me. They are now riping me off saying the work is done. HIT web design stay away. There customer service wont help. All the like to do is sell there service and make you wait months to do anything even though they have the resources. They will tell you after you sign up they have know SLA that's service level agreement. My site was supposed to cost 2999 it's now cost 2000 and still not done. This company will rip you off. HIT Web design should put and S in front of HIT. This company is also Mormon Owned. Their articles of faith state be honest in your dealings with your fellow man. I thought when i signed up with them they were honest. They just sell empty and very late results. I have emailed all of them 800 plus times since the start of my site and its still not done. HIT web design when you read this, this is no new news for you grow up and be honest will your customers tell them we will finish your site when its conversant for us. Also the designers will only email when the site is done so your site will never look the way you want it unless you call and email hundreds of times. Come on give me an AMEN on this report. Hit Web Design Lie to make Sale!

I was told by a rep named Giles that they could build my site for $2000. OK. Gave them the money and the run around began. First my log in password was changed without my knowledge, so I could not log in a week. They finally emailed me with my new password. So I was in contact with Kaden Jensen, my account manager. He was a very cold and unfriendly guy. OK. I was charged for a professional writer to write my website. She was about 90 yeard old and sounded like Diane Rehm from NPR. I wish I had Diane Rehm to write my site cause this lady did a crappy job! So, after about 13 months of $40 monthly fees, I was finally given to a programmer who would build my site. A whole year! So this lady seemed nice but between her dog barking every 15 seconds and her 5 year old daughter begging for her attention, she told me that the 'package' I purchased did not allow Paypal functionality and she needed to speak with Kaden, my uncaring account manager. GREAT! Kaden called me about a week later and told me that for the Paypal functionality I required would cost an additional $3000! NO! I told him that I was tired of dealing with their company and I wanted a refund! He transferred me to a guy who would cancel my account and issue a refund. Cool. So about 2 weekd later I'm going through my emails and still no resonse. I check my SPAM box and guess what? It's a short email stating that I woud not receive a refund! I immediately call him and ask why. He stated that there was a clause in the contract stating that there were NO REFUNDS! I asked him why he didn't mention that in our previous conversation. He said he didn't review the contract until we ended the call. BULL because it's the SAME stock contract ALL customers sign with the exception of a few details. So he informed me that my account was cancelled and there was a $250 reinstatement fee, but he could do it for $100. I'm being MAN-SHAGGED! So I'm FORCED to deal with a company that has terrible service! They told me that less than 1% of their customers are dissatiafied! Their math is WRONG!

Hit Web Design Heritage Web Solutions is full of crooks

RUN RUN RUN and RUN! from this fake and dubious people called Heritage Web Solutions. PLEASE READ MY LINES CLEARLY, DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS PEOPLE, EVERYTHING YOU'VE WILL READ SO FAR ABOUT HIT IS TRUE: THEY ARE CHEATS, CUNNY, DUBIOUS AND EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL.

I called them on 1/9/2010, the sales guy (very sleeky and sweet-talker) explained that I will get a well designed cusomized site. When I explained they type of site I wanted and all the features, after running up and down he said they wi do the job for $300 and that I will get exaclty and even more that I have asked for per the website features. They would deceive you and give you the impression that 'they move very fast' with getting your website up and runnig' but 2 days after signing on, the write hadnt called me. I called and called HIT but my my calls were not returned. The writer eventually wrote few lines as web content and I was in shock! Her writings were so unprofessional I began to have dobts but I shoved my doubts aside and continued but to cut the whole story short, I cancelled my account after I saw the first proto-type of my homepage. It was so aweful and a 3rd grader could do a better job. I called my credit card company and they have a hold on the $150 they deducted from my account. I have wirtten to BBB Utah and Attorney general of my state.
HIT is shabby and all out to get money without doing anything, very poor communications. Their employees are so non-challant you could hear in their voice that they are frstrated and really not into what they are doing.
Immediately, I signed up with yahoo business and within few days I put my website together and its up and running really fine.
DO NOT SIGN UP WITH HIT, THEY ARE DUBIOUS. SAVE YOURSELF TROUBLES AND HEARTACHES. WHAT ALL THE REVIEWRS HAVE WRITTEN IS VERY TRUE, I EXPERIENCED MOST OF THE THINGS OTHERS COMPLAINED ABOUT. BBB UTAH IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON MY COMPLAINTS AGAINST THEM.

DO NOT SAY YOU WERE NOT WARNED. IF YOU HAVE NOT GONE REALLY DEEP WITH THEM, CANCEL YOUR CONTRACT AND MOVE ON, WRITE TO BBB UTAH AND YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND LODGE A COMPLAINT.

CEO and/or QCA does not go to the CEO though... i dont think it has for years. Why does HIT lie to clients about this simple matter? People should understand they are dealing with a fairly large company and its like asking to reach the CEO of any other large company, its normally not going to happen, why then does HIT lead clients into thinking these get read by the CEO when they actually do not..

HIT is scared of smart people who know their own Terms of Service, use it against them.. Follow through with BBB complaints (as those actually still do at times go to Mark Strong who is a original member of the mortgage company in which HIT started as, who is a good guy and makes smart decisions. A lot of the managers before his level however are money hungry, and generally do not actually care, due to not having enough time to care for each account/case presented to them.

If they can present a lot of work done on your account, that is proof enough that services have been rendered, and they can stick it to you pretty good regarding a refund, or lack thereof. Also, if you do a credit card dispute, this freezes up any refund that may have been coming to you, if you do not agree with their refund and just decide to do a dispute, you may end up getting NOTHING at all, especially with VISA and MASTERCARD as the company has to fully dispute the charges, they cannot allow a partial dispute with these two issuers.

Again, if the company has done work... they are entitled to some (if not a good large portion) of your money. HIT does not profit off the initial sale, or the website design itself, they normally make money off the monthly hosting (that is why you are REQUIRED to may 12 months of hosting in order to actually own your website rights) This is one thing HIT will never let down, hardly ever will they waive this, if you want to cancel and move the site, you best be paid up (you dont have to stay with HIT for a calendar year, but you do have to pay for the year to get the site files released)

i have been a client/customer of HIT for about 4 years, and have spoke with many people and asked a lot of small probing questions to get this type of info, there are ups and downs with this company, or any really for that matter. Read the Terms and know what you are getting into (you should do this with anything you sign, or click "Accept" on... I've seen people not read their car loan agreements, mortages, ect, and it kicks them in the butt later down the line, and for some reason you get mad at the company dont you, when it is your own fault)

HIT, in my opinion, has done downhill a lot in the past year. I know there have been HUGE pay cuts for some departments, and also on top of that, a company wide paycut of 15%. For some working in those higher positions, they really got screwed, as they've normally been with the company for a longer period of time and made more due to yearly raises, ect.

I've been told that refunds are taking longer on accounts, longer than ever. Years ago, when I purchased a FLASH BANNER after I bought my website, I decided I did not want it at the time, I got a refund (IN FULL) within 10 days, no work was done, I canceled a few days after I purchased it, and it was not much of a problem to cancel this. Of course they tried to get me to keep it, or to credit this towards hosting or something else in the future, i declined, and went through the refund process, got my money back... now, if I try to get a refund for anything, or cancel something, it takes FOREVER, months I have been waiting. I've been told in in a round about way, that they are hard for money, which goes back to the employee paycuts, ect.

I've dug deeper about this refund process stuff, speaking with Accounting, Cancellation/Retention Dept, Managers, ect. From what I gather, its true...they are pushing for sales, and accounting says if they do not hit a certain sales goal for the day, they cannot refund anything at all, so all those refunds in line just get pushed back...further and further, which is why it is taking months...even just to get a refund of a few bucks for hosting.

I am still a client with HIT, as I mentioned it has been about 4 years. It has become worse, and I probably will cancel soon as I dont need the updating as much anymore, and some I can do myself now (that is why I stayed with HIT, was the Updates Time, and ability to add on additional items, pages, ect)

I am paid well over the 12 months, so I can take my site anytime, but I've stayed.. because it was not that bad, but i've had my issues/problems. Again, if you're new to HIT Web Design, get to know the Terms of Service, most of their stuff goes through without problems, sometimes things do take a while, but again...for what you are paying, you're not going to get TOP PRIORITY SERVICE, if you're dumb and don't know how much a private designer costs to do all your creations, updating, ect, its a LOT, and I mean a lot more than HIT charges. So you get a cheap price, but it does take longer... sometimes, a lot longer.

Know what you're getting into.

Best,

MS

Hit Web Design bait and switch/poor design

My experience is similar to the others:

Charged for hosting months before the site was live

Insisted that, for a fee, their writer could create great text guaranteed to attract business; 3 months later, writer delivered atrocious and inappropriate text.

Then I generated my own extensive text, with notes added to the designer in a different color and font; the designer just pasted everything onto the website; didn't bother to read the text; put it live without asking me to review it first.

They keep changing the rules about how much "design" they'll do; now they don't even want to have the designer go through clipart to find the right graphics; they expect the client to wade through thousands of pictures; at least a dozen more hours on customer's part.

I too am another victim of this horrendous company! The worst service, workmanship, the product, timeliness...the list goes on. What I was sold and what I received are two entirely different things...they completely used bait and switch tactics...and after you sign the contract your pretty much stuck with it. No one would return my calls - eventually I just gave up. Now I have a pathetic website - does not look professional at all, all of my flash is gone even though it was on the site until 3/8/11 when they closed, and now the only thing I can do is pay another company to fix it. Just made a complaint with Provo UT PD...hopefully something can be done! I left Jennifer a message at Provo PD - her number is [protected] - her message states that they are accepting complaints against HIT and if you leave her your email address she will send you a complaint form. Obviously, there is a particularly high caller volume regarding this company, so she may not be able to return your call.

HIT web design is a total fraudulent organisation. I wonder why no legal action is initiated against them. They promise so much when they entice you to sign the contract, once you do, they suck and suck the money and when it comes to delivery of the website, those low grade sloppy programmers, artists deliver a pathetic looking sick and non-functional website. I lost close to 2000$ and my website could not be done in 6 months. After repeated BEGGINGS those rotten skulls assembled something that never worked. login, payment, whole design nothing ever worked. My business concept deplayed. in the mean time they have had hundreds of account manager, programmers pretending to take good care of you...all rotten thick skin lootters.all fraud and no honesty, no work and no accountability

I gave up and a neighborhood immigrant boy did such a splendid job within 2 weeks at 3rd the money that HIT robbed me off. Human conscience, humanity and scientific acumen is no more there in our boys in here, our science runs on these sweet little hard working honest immigrants those who like to excel and keep our economy up and running..

Guys, initiate an action against these robbers. let us write to AG UTAH, let us try to bring your money back and help me bring money back and let us try putting these robbers behind the bars.

Hit Web Design Fraudulent Business Practices

HIT - took 5 mos to design my site billing me for hosting when I didn't even have a designer assigned. I basically ended up doing it myself and turned my designs over to their designer. Overcharges galore - hours in que on hold for VERY POOR customer service. Authorized $125 charge for Tech Support - They took $500 from my credit card which was not refunded for days after several HOURS on hold for customer service. STAY AWAY from HIT -- they do NOT deliver what they promise. The only good thing about HIT is their sales people who make promises that are not kept.

I was deeply trouble when I first learned about how employees and customers were treated by Mr. Aitken, Bradford Stone, Mark Strong, Leah Young, Jeremy Aitken, Tanner Wolsey, Kevin Morrill and others. At first I could not believe what was said.

Employees were working in poor lighting conditions, in a run down bowling alley with run down equipment. The atmosphere was dismal. Customer promises were not kept nor did anyone in management seem to care if the customer complained. There was no quality control and no customer services. I learned that wages were not being paid. The company had been issuing NSF checks. Some employees were afraid to quit because they believed that the economy was in such bad shape they would not find another job. Creditors were not being paid. The IRS was not paid. Insurance providers were not paid, and the list goes on. One of the thing that I found interesting is that even though they were not paying their creditors or employees they continued to advertise and hire new employees. It turned out they had to find new pigeons to carry out the scam. At an average of $30K per day, the risks of getting caught must have seemed impossible. After all that sum of money is enticing.

When I first happen upon this company I thought perhaps it was just poor business practices. I wanted to prove out the truth. Upon investigation I found that it had nothing to do with poor business practices. It had everything to do with squeezing as much money out of anyone as they could for as long as they could. It is a concept of take advantage of everyone as much as possible. I pondered and realized they had learned the art of scamming, even more they delighted in it.

The more I learned the more angry I became. What kind of person could be so thoughtless, cruel and heartless to leave families homeless in the dead of winter while they glutted themselves upon $30K or more per day? Who would stand up and stop this inequity?

I was thrilled to finally see that there were people out there who finally listened to the many voices that something was seriously amiss and that there is a criminal investigation. Finally the voices that have cried out so long are finally being heard. To add more to my delight, new unsuspecting people might begin to be protected. You can not protect everyone, but the warnings were now being taken seriously.

Recent research indicates that they have millions in assets under various entity names and possibly other names. They have claimed they do not have the means to pay what they owe? Perhaps because they have so much they view what they owe in integrity to the customer and funds owed to employees and creditor as just a small thing.

I am pained that these individuals think that it is okay to glut themselves by theft of trust upon others. They have so much in their possession and refuse to honor their agreements to pay creditor and employees. They could have sought to honor their agreements and keep the trust, but instead chose the path of deception and abuse of trust. I am pained that they delight in taking advantage of human nature, those who need employment and those who are looking to have an internet presence. What ripe unsuspecting pigeons everyone must appear to be to them. I am sickened by all that I learned and the facts that have been confirmed.

I would ask mercy upon anyone, after all everyone makes mistakes. The more I learn the more I do not think that mercy has a place here. For all the worldly gain they think they have acquired, the true loss goes beyond measure. If mercy were to be meted out, they would need to be willing to return what they have taken as much as it is possible. They would need to apologize to everyone and provide employees with a letter of recommendation. They would need to learn an honest way to do business and they would have to refrain for ever scamming anyone ever again.

Just google search HIT for reviews I am telling the truth as God is my witness and I am LDS also. These are just bad mormons.

Hit Web Design Incomplete Service with no Design Delivery and a %50 charge of monies paid

December 12, 2009
Re: Project design & setup issues.
1) Timing from approval of Content (technical writing) to design team (phase).
2) Timing in communicating to me (the client) dropped balls, slowdowns in process and overall project management.
3) In the loop! Communication after I (the client) made contact via email and voice-mail.
4) Price and charging of an “Hosting buy out” - $250.00, given I’ve owned/managed my domain since 2003 and acquired hosting plan for 3 yrs before ever contracting HIT Web Design to DESIGN work.
5) Charge of e-Commerce (store), (1-page/part of the total site) - $240.00…Why am I being charged for a free component?
6) Professionalism and preparedness of the staff: Greg Woods didn’t obtain pertinent info about my domain & hosting. Victor Hernandez, seems new and timid dealing with people, his newness is highly noticeable to a perceptive client. Both supervisors, Joe Nielsen and Michael Ferguson for not being on their job and following up with an unsatisfied client.
--
My relationship began with H.I.T.WEB DESIGN on (Thursday, November 12th, 2009). I agreed to order a custom designed site after speaking with George Woods, He was helpful in the decision making, to go with H.I.T.WEB DESIGN. There after I found that he was only 50% informative to the extra costs that would be (could be) associated with custom design. Also he was not clear to the customer, who already has, 1.) Own domain name, and 2.) 3-years of hosting, before ever engaging a contract with H.I.T.WEB DESIGN; about the “Hosting Buy Out” charge of $250.00. This charge I cannot see how it pertains to me, as I have in place the things that is covers.
After reviewing necessary information and setup requirements from the client (Sabor y Todo), I submitted information and requested “Technical Writing” to aid my one-man operation with site content. Kevin Dietz was exceptional in contacting, facilitating and completing the Technical Writing Document needed for H.I.T.WEB DESIGN’s design team to begin the next phase of my website project. I approved this document on (Sunday, November 29th, 2009). This would mean that H.I.T.WEB DESIGN should have received this confirmation (Monday, November 30th, 2009). I am not sure if this is the case and I think not due to my “Account Manager” Victor Hernandez calling me (Friday, December 4th, 2009) and asking me to approve the “TW Document.” After, which I contacted Kevin Dietz, and he assured me that he submitted the “TW Document” and he would follow up with H.I.T.WEB DESIGN. With no contact from a “Design Team Member” or my “Account Manager”, I decided to contact Victor Hernandez (Wednesday, December 16th, 2009) and find out the status of my order. It is now December 21, 2009.

Total clarification on the “Hosting Buyout” charge would be appreciated and confirmation on design team assigned would as well.

Next, the shopping cart; is it not ZEN-Cart?
If so, I wonder why a free component is being offered with a cost to facilitate? I wonder why the design team is not going to apply the theme they create for the entire site to the interface (page) of the totally-manipulatable/modifiable ZEN-Cart. It feels overwhelming for a non-designer (myself) to be taking on the task of ZEN-Cart design and product entry/total implantation of the ZEN-Cart.

The above were my words to HIT.

HIT Web Design has earned a minus 5 on a 1 -10 scale for the lack of service and commitment to satisfying the customer. November 12, 2009 I hired HIT do the design of my website and I thought I was getting topflight service. Things didn’t appear to be the case when HIT dropped the ball November 29/30th 2009, after I approved the ‘Site-Content’ (a $75 extra charge) for the next phase (Site design & layout) of development to come.

Well, the next phase (design) didn’t come until December 30, 2009 then which the designer selected 1 of the 14 links of sites I thought were good looking for some reason or another, and cookie-cut the web template and pasted my logo and site-content on top of the supplied URL to a template on another web site. I paid for custom web design.

Hit Web Design Non-performance

My husband paid for and began working with heritage web solutions in january 2009.in march 2009, he still did not have a working live web page, so he handed this project off to me to assist hit to get it done. To date, now december 30, 2009, he still does not have his website. We have been passed around to three different designers, we have waited months now to get a simple blog, I have contacted the sales department hoping to get some action, to no avail.

I personally have created or located every piece of text and graphic for the site and have provided them to the 'designers'. I have a great deal of knowledge of web site design and graphic design. I should have simply created the site for my husband when he asked, but I was too busy at the time - little did I know that more time than ever would be required of me to work with heritage.

The prototype/test page hit (heritage) has provided to us is the most basic and elementary page I have ever seen. An entry level web design student could have produced what they have provided to us, thus far. The total dollar amount we have spent for a non-working, elementary level basic web page is $580.00! Not the $199 they advertise. What the heck are we paying for?

I have sent a specific list of items needing to be corrected and/or changed to this very basic page over 2 months ago, yet we have gotten no response from the design team. Their terms & conditions specify that when they send you a message or a page to approve and you don't respond to them within 5 days, they assume the page is approved and move on to the next item. Well, it's been two months since I requested our last changes, not to mention eleven months since we began this horror story with heritage, and we are still nowhere closer to an active website than we were a year ago.

Do not waste your money or your time with this company. Their designers are not professional and they do not deliver!

I engaged HIT web design to create my website. When I received my invoice, I noticed they had charged me for more than I agreed to. Long story short, at nearly every turn, they failed to do what they said they would do. I emailed, then called them, to tell them that I had changed my mind about doing business w/ them. Carlos (customer service guy) did send a confirmation email that they would cancel the account, but to date, no refund. I'm filing with the BBB and doing a charge back through my bank.

Hit Web Design Censorship/Held-up Store dev/opening

Paid for store developement, paid in full, being held up due to censoring by designer. Robbers @ store: store design is "Held-up" to date and art is as well. From the beginning, they have known the images in question:they viewed, handled and manipulated images months ago, only now, they are keeping me from opening up my store and not communicating with the customer. How long are the people of America going to let these freaks solicite service, take money for service, then in the end screw & avoid responsibilities to the consumer?Aparently, consumer protection of Utah is in their pocket. We will see what FCC is willing to do. The complaints have been going on for years. Maybe the Powers that be should be responcible since they continue to let them practice stealing from unaware consummers. No matter what excuse they make, hit or governing entities, are guilty, like it or not. This kind of crap is exactly why I draw satire.Chalkboardbandit

Hit Web Design ex-employee Hit Web Design Response

I am an ex-employee of the company and thus know how they operate and definately don't operate my business in the way they do..

The design they gave you, was probably done in about 15-20 minutes very simple design... then of course they're using frames on some of the pages which isnt very SEO compliant as robots (search engine spiders) don't read frames code. So good luck on the search engines I see that you currently have a page rank of 0 with google which means they see your website as a good for nothing website, or a website that is unimportant... and they force you to have a link to their website but they can't even recriprocate that with a link to yours on their portfolio? Yeah you're listed on google but only if someone searches specifically for your domain which isnt how people are going to find you.

Every page is in .html format, and so have you used their online 'wysiwyg' editor yet? Try it, I cant count the times that I had to manually go into a clients website for the good guys in Technical Support and remove unwanted characters because of the online editor when I Was working with the company.

HWSINET says that they are ranked #1 of utah's hosting companies and recently ranked #3 by inc, 500. Its 2008 Heritage! you were ranked #3 by INC, 500 FEBRUARY 20TH 2007! Thats over a year..

2006 Revenue $8.2 million of illgotten funds...

#1 of utahs hosting companies? then how come as of 06-01-2008 Goleman Networks, Inc. (not my company which does do hosting btw) is number one? I thought that was your spot?

I never understand why people use Heritage as their website provider instead of a different company, such as my own, that goes over the top for their clients. There are PLENTY of other companies out there that are aimed at giving you a very expensive website that still looks GREAT on your pocket book.

Take my company for example, as i can speak on behalf of my company.

We get a new client, whether or not we're hosting them or going to be hosting them. We do the design, with a minimum of 2 designs for them to choose from or have tweaked in any way they want. Once we have an approved design, it goes to our specialized programming team. which they dont mess with HTML as a base for websites -- they use a dynamic language and create a database driven website for our clients. COMPLETE WITH A CUSTOM ADMINISTRATION PANEL. this means no frills, or glamour, only the things you need to effectively run your website.

So whats the difference? The people employed with Heritage Web Solutions think of it as a job something they have to do day in and day out to get by making 10 bucks an hour. Only people getting rich when involved with Heritage Web Solutions, is the 3 owners which are all brothers...

My company, we do it not to get 'rich' but to help the consumer get a REAL website for cheaper... So you do the math..

a basic website from heritage in HTML: $800.00
a basic website from heritage in PHP/MYSQL (dynamic language with database): $5000.00

an extravagent website from my company in HTML: we wont do it
an extravagent website from my company in PHP/MYSQL: $750.00

See the difference in pricing there? You can find deals like that all over the place not just my company other companies do the same thing. I mean hell you could go on a freelance site and hire someone from india to do a site better than what HWSINET can do.

So you still happy with the price you paid with the quality of work you got? All the headaches you have over yourr website, probably the lack of TARGETED hits to your website.

In my oppinion, Heritage needs to seriously rethink being in business any longer. Perhaps they should take that building of theres and turn it back into a bowling alley -- They'll have less complaints, 'cause no one complains their bowling shoes are the wrong color.

signed, an ex-employee with a birds eye view of operations within heritage.

Hit Web Design RIP OFF

I hired heritage to build a web site for me. I paid them up front for building the web site and 1 year of hosting. I had to make monthly payments for them to build web site. I then pre-paid for them to upload 5000 items to the site. I also pre-paid them for a flash package to be uploaded. I also pre-paid for the shipping companies to be downloaded onto the site. I then had stroke and was hospitalized. According to the contract they were suppose to renew the domain name with net firms. They did not renew the domain name and netfirm pulled their stuff taking my site off the internet. Heritage never down loaded the 5000 items because of my stroke they never got the item list, nor did they down load the shipping info or flash package because there was no site for them to do this also due to the site not being renewed by them, yet they still continued to withdrawl from my checking account the monthly hosting fee's for several monthsabout 8 months. I have been in contact with them about a refund and they keep hiding behind a contract that they say they owe me nothing. However they violated their own contract when they issued a refund of $49. to me and said here keep your mouth shut.

Hit Web Design monies paid for work never done

However they violated their own contract when they issued a refund to me and said here keep your mouth shut.

I am sorry to hear about your problems with HIT (aka Heritage Web Solutions). We also paid $580 for a basic website and a year later our site STILL has not gone live. Heck, they haven't even finished the design of the site. Of course, we still pay the $19 per month!

I truly wish I would have done the research on this company before my husband signed their agreement and paid them. I filed my complaint here on this site as well.

Thos of you looking to use this company, please read and research these complaints before you make you decision to enter into a useless contract with this company.

ALSO, they have changed their name in this year that we have been dealing with them.

Heritage Web Solutions is now HIT Web Design.

Hit Web Design they couldn't do the job what i was told that they would do for the price i was quoted

first i was quoted $600 for web design for 6pages plus web banner and database programming, i was really happy that they would do all that for $600 and plus with the recognized company. about 3-4 later they gave me different quote which was $650, i was still okay with it. as soon they started working on the web site they asked me another $325 for rollover options and hidden div, which i thought they would create a beautiful web site, and what ever i takes to do so. still couldn't do the web right even after $350. person (Nitti) who was assigned to do the web banner didn't know how to create web banner. she created a slide show and said this all she could do. and she told me that she doesn't tools to do more created job. then i end up buying the software $129 and created my own web banner so they could put it on. then they screwed up my database programming, instead of creating what ask for they just somply put calender on the web site for no reason and told me that work is done. not only that they charged me for 6pages and end up created 5pages web site. they over charge my account by $200 and took more then a month to refund. and still charging my account.

i tried to talk to Jeff harmon, Jeff Hill who suppose to resolve issue but end up not doing anything at all.

very hard to get hold of them, it always goes to voice mail and get hear back from them till atleast leave 3-4 msgs.
so fed up with the service.

Sam

All the previous complaints are still valid.

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH HIT!

I urge all of you to contact the Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff at uag@utah.gov and let his office know SPECIFICALLY how HITWebdesign defrauded you.

This is the only way you can get payback for the time and money you wasted, and perhaps shut down this scam for good.

Hit Web Design failed to tell me that even though I paid $100.00 for a page to put video's on, I could only use the videos off YouTube (which is a free site). Then, they said if I wanted to add my own embed links, I would owe them an additonal $170.00 on top of the $100.00
Now, I go into the Guest book page and Im viewing a half page because they decide to add advertizement to my page... Out of the blue, I can only read half my beauiful comments.Check it out on countrykimberly.com
Its more unprofessional now than it was when a friend was doing my web-site... Only it cost an arm and a leg to use Hit Design.
No one gets back to you when you call or e-mail.And when they do finally return the complaint, its gets paved over by another broken promise.Im still waiting to get videos onto my $100.00 page. Kimberly P

ATTENTION PEOPLE! Do not hire Hit Web Design to do your website.

All their sites look very amateur. Brutal customer service. The site is always crashing, pages dissappearing. Terrible company.

What I find most amazing is how they can stay in business. It truly blows my mind.

Please hire a local web design company. DO NOT...DO NOT EVER HIRE HIT WEB DESIGN FOR ANYTHING! A 10 YEAR OLD CAN DO A BETTER JOB!

don't even tried this company, they are suck. i told them to creat a layout for my website, After 3 monthes. instead of doing that, the desiger create a htm(simplest one) to fool me, so i called and told them that i want my money, its last week, i still waiting for the refund...
for the 3 custom page that they sell, you have to type in all content for the designer, because they don't pay for doing all typing, , and each page is going to cost you 50 dollar, , ,

Hit Web Design bitter sweet

Hi …Everyone has been calling me and emailing me to find out all the details of how and why I left HIT…the bottom line is I just could not take it any longer ..Sitting at my desk crying 2 and 3 times a day is just not what I see as my future with a successful company ….When I started with this company 4 + years ago..IT WAS GREAT! I BELONGED I was so proud to be making the amount of money I was and helping the company grow to become successful..Giving away thousands in toys and prizes to employees including a Harley Davidson, vacations..ect, ..it was never going to end..Life was great …so I thought…?
I don’t know what happen to the management side of this company all I know is what I felt and went through as an employee.
I feel I have been there long enough to have an opinion and to be heard..
It started to all change about one year ago ..when management started to look at the big picture they either saw “dollar signs “or “oh no were going down”..Either one pushed them into a discussion that would hurt customer wallets, employee’s integrity and their own.
The personal sales training meetings from the owner was great but we never could apply it to our sales pitches because, to the VP it was just a joke and we needed to say and do whatever to get that sale!
Our sales team pitches were so misleading and just flat out wrong! And management may not have liked the way the sales team was being ran ..but nothing was done ! and no one stopped it ! too much control was given to VPs from the owners with “head turned and one ear and one eye closed “as long as the NUMBERS were hit every day….no one was to be accountable
8 hours a day or more hearing …..…if they’re not going to buy get them off the phone…just say whatever it takes …just get their cc card#. ..If your blanking your staying..meaning you would have to stay after 5 to help the company HIT their numbers even if you had already hit your personal goal which is understandable if everyone on your team was a team player…, and the guilt and looks brought on with walking out the door at 5 was ruthless, having to go to the owners office and ASK and BEG him and give him an EXCUSE and reason why you have to leave at 5pm?…Endless emails telling us were NOT trying, were not good enough, were just not motivated, and need to work harder to feed the kids in Haiti, saving kids in Haiti is an amazing thing, I even donate money every check, but I did not start out working for a Non Profit Org. and my kids and family are just as important to me …emails sent from management may have been sent to motivate us? But we also had 2 very loud and annoying leaders telling us and confirming what we already knew that we were behind! And the extra stress knowing if I did not get that company money lives and kids were starving in Haiti ..wow the pressure!

Also another annoying word was ..Stay GREEN (no one would know the curdle up my spine and what that means unless you were sitting there every day hearing it at least 20 times a hr )…yelling behind my desk as leaders would hit your chair and yell at you to get working and get on the phones ..VPs Throwing and kicking things when he felt we were not “trying” ..at one time the owner told us on a Monday “5 employees WILL BE LET GO on Friday “so all week we walked on pins and needles, mean while we had constant emails telling us how hard it is out in the world to find a job in this economy ….So Friday morning came and for a JOKE one at a time the VP would come to our desk as everyone watched and asked you to go to the conference room..the stress on that floor was bone chilling thick…once we got into the room the owner handed us a paper, … in big black letters it stated “””YOUR SAFE””””how cruel was that… also after many un planned pay cuts, commission changes and unreal expectations and unreachable goals and all the lying to employees the brain washing the cold cold office the having to ask to go to the bathroom, no 15 min brakes scheduled, and 15% pay cut because of the economy, and commission cuts even when hitting your personal goal daily.

The VP is willing to change your numbers because someone knowingly jacked your lead and sold it with him very well knowing ! And after the fact saying sorry nothing I can do it was already in the system…leads being given and taken depending on his mood and who he wants to help that particular day or hour and depending on who stayed late to hit goal. (even though jacking a lead is as bad as stealing money out of my pocket.) As wrong as it may sound on some occasions I was the one that needed help that day and excepted his help.

Reading all the [redacted]s.com consumerreports.com ect… and lying to my customers everyday (I want to sincerley apologize to my thousands of customers to whom I mislead and changed there course in having a successful website), The product and services we were providing was just not worth the commitments I was promising to the customer ..I became a high paid liar!… ….all this and much much more within the 4+ YEARS I HAVE A RIGHT TO SPEAK MY MIND…
This is why I Quit I was just one of the weak ones I guess? I just could not cut it …this was what was told to my peers.
Today I visited a friend in the parking lot next to HIT ..20 minutes later I was called by HR asking me by the owners to not converse with HIT employees from the hrs of 8 to 5 …WOW… Because she was afraid I would recruit.
If you haven’t already left I give you the courage and hope to tell you …your better than this company leads you believe …...
PS: already found a new job ..took me one day..and I will be making just as much …feeling Free and appreciated..isn’t that all we really want….

I can tell you first hand from my involvement with HIT that while I was were there we claims from the state of NY stating that our contractors were employees according to their state definitions and therefore we would have to provide a myriad of insurance policies in order to be compliant with their regulations (worker's comp, etc.). It cost the company great hassle and money that i was witness to. It is not bogus at all. I've done the legal research on the state's requirements personally and NY is not the only state that has similar regulations so it IS TRUE. Some contractors also live and work in different locations who may have residence in say CA (this is from an actual situation I encountered while at HIT) and NY splitting their time in those locations so they provided their California address, etc and were able to work as a contractor for that reason, not because HIT was encouraging fraud. CA's regulations stick to a more traditional definition of what an independent contractor is (unlike the state of NY) so working with contractors in that state is much easier. You may think that you've done your research Mr. Ellis, but I can tell you that in your case you may want to research your states worker's comp, short term disability polices and unemployment regulations before you falsely accuse HIT of scamming you. If you'd like more information on your state's outlandish laws I'd be more than happy to post them for you.

Actually, HIT contacted with me to design sites for them when i responded to their AdSense posting. I only began to feel some hesitation when they suggested that I show residence in another state than New York. Their reason: according to them NY laws force employers to treat freelance contractors (people like me) to be treated as real employees and given full benefits and offered insurance (I only wish). I've worked as a freelancer for quite a while now and it simply isn't true. That they would want me to show residence in another state is asking me to enter into a fraudulent relationship with my home state and as well as the other. naturally that raised a red flag which is how I ended up searching them out a scam in progress. Thanks to everyone posting here. if I can be of service I can be found through my website http://www.ltbprod.com
Good luck to all and know that this is the very best way to fight the bad guys - together. -Jonathan Ellis

I just cannot believe that you endured 4 years at Hit Web Design! I hope that people will appreciate your apology.

I hope that customers of Hit Web Design will take this statement as a call to action! I just can not fathom doing business with this company!

If you are having issues with Hit Web Design call your bank, or credit card company TODAY and do a charge back! From what I have been told by recent employees is that Hit Web Design now has a monthly cap on refunds at just $3, 500.00 a month! So if your site cost more than that the ONLY way you will get your money back is by doing a charge back. I have heard stories (I do not know first hand) that refunds are backed up for months!

Thank you again for the nice apology!
