Hefty Auto Repair / New motor & removal w/new installation
In mid-oct i had my vehicle towed to this shop to remove & inspect if original motor was reusable . Company needed $1100.00 down which included removal of old motor & installation of new motor . Owner said that my motor was no good and he was going to order new motor w/ outstanding warranty which covered rental car & lodging reimbursement if truck was to break down on the road for the first 3yrs or 100, 000 miles .There was a verbal agreement to go ahead with the new motor which only takes 5-7 days to arrive @ shop & no more than 2 days install . After 2 weeks checking on the progress, only to find out that the 1st motor that was supposedly ordered was wrong transmission housing which is lie according to auto zone where there is only one type for the size & model of the year for that truck . So another delay in this nightmare and part # on my invoice is the same as auto zones part # . I was told that my motor was ordered from tech net which is the warranty company that warrants the warranty . Through more investigating tech net does not sell motors or issues reimbursement for lodging or rental car while vechile is being repaired .The truck was released to my nephew on 11/05/2015 & hefty was still waiting on a part which wouldn't affect vehicle or warranty . Nephew was instructed to bring back truck to shop after putting on 500 miles per agreement for break in period and get first oil change . This was done per request and check engine light came on after driving a couple hundred miles . Notified hefty auto about engine light & it was ok to drive but bring truck in for first service & problem would be resolved. Truck brought into hefty and everything was ok . Was told to bring truck in again before 2500 miles for next oil change .Nephew had check engine light come on in st george utah and check engine light had come on again, called hefty auto to get name of shop to do repair under tech net warranty the shop was st george transmission, prior to appt. Stopped in auto zone to have computer scan to let shop no what the problem could be .Went there next day met service writer jerry, left truck and it would be fixed in couple of hours . Nephew picked up truck and had to go back to las vegas next morning for business . Next morning took off only to get 20 miles out of town to notice white smoke bellowing out of exhaust pipes check engine light on pulled over & called hefty auto repair on what to do . Per conversation they instructed nephew to check all fluids & nurse truck to hefty auto . Once arrived manager- terry asked what i had done to the truck .I said to him why don't you ask st george transmission they were the last ones to do anything under the hood of the truck . Little did hefty auto know the reason for the smoke from the motor was because they never did put a new motor in, the head of the motor was leaking because when the lower half of the original motor was fixed but double head gaskets and over spray silver paint is proof that motor was never changed out like the agreement of the purchase & warranty . Hefty auto repair has made such a hardship for my nephew & his wife, also they have stressed me out @ 82 years old and trying to pull fraudulent schemes on two disabled senior citizens . On 02/17/2016 after talking to american express again to see the status on the investigation you let them off the hook twice with there lame and untruths about what has and hasn't been done. The police were called to hefty auto @ 11:33 am to reposse my nephews truck with no motor in it . Hefty would not release it until the police arrived .Attachments include photos of truck & towing receipt of removal of nephews personal property .If this was you how long would you have waited ????. Please expedite this asap for you now have documents & so this can be resolved and nephew has another motor to purchase as soon as funds are available to repurchase .
