Heavenly Designs / Unauthorized charges

On August 30th, 2008 i had a hair appointment for 8am at Heavenly Designs Beauty Salon. I asked Dawn, the beautician, for sew-in extensions so I could let my hair rest and continue to grow out. She said she knew how to do them and the cost would be $75.

So, I walk in patiently wait until it is my turn and she proceeds to wash my hair. After being under the dryer for some time, she takes me to her chair and asks me what I want. I tell her once more and as I am waiting for her to begin, I over hear her on the phone asking someone to teach her how to do sew-in extensions. This immediately raises a red flag, but I continue to let her do my hair. The braid that she uses to sew on the extension was extremely large and bulky. I was not pleased.

I ask her for layers and she says she would have to cut into my hair. I say okay, thinking she knows what she is doing. Magically, the price jumps from $75 to $95. For what? who knows... Before she cut my hair it was shoulder length, and by the time she finished, my hair was up to my ears! You would not believe how shocked I was.

She tells me for her service, I would be charged $95! I was so upset, I just paid her and left in tears. She did not even have the nerve to apologize. This was not what I wanted and i was very displeased. About 20 minuted later I ask for my money back and she refuses. I explain to her that this is not what I wanted and am very unhappy. She did not seem to care at all. She could have at least gave me half of my money back.

To this day, I look at my hair in the mirror and the only thing I can do is cry. I was charged $95 for a haircut from hell!

I have not forgotten and I hope I can find someone to help me find closure to this event in my life. It has taken such a toll on me. I plead with you, to save anyone from unnecessary heartache, if you do go to this salon, DO NOT set up an appointment with Dawn. She will screw you over. Better yet, do not go at all. Save your money for someone who will take care of your hair and deserves it.
