Heald College is very unprofessioal, they have low opinions about students. I graduated from Heald College in 2008 at the Rancho campus, I never recieved assistance in job placement. Even after I brought it up their attention. I transferred to the Roseville campus, (huge mistake). I wanted to get a degree in the Criminal Justice program. In November 2009 I lost my job, I had to take the quarter off because I had trouble with EDD. I didnt' have money for gas, rent, food, I was receiving eviction notice from my landlard. I took the responsiblity of taken the quarter off because no gas money and Heald College attendance policy. I spoke to Student Services and Financial and took the quarter off with the intentions to return. On Feberuary 2, I was in the LRC using their computers for job seeking. Conrad Woodall, CJ Director approaches me, hitting me on the arm with a piece of paper, askes me to come into his office. When I am in his office he tells me I have to leave campus and I was not allowed on campus. He was rude, very hostile and unprofessional. I went back to the LRC to log out of the computer. Conrad Woodall and Dick Gonzales, Academic Affairs Director follow me, escorting me out as if I am criminal. Conrad Woodall was laughing at my face, walking directly behind me, when I told him he didn't have to escort me out as if I am a criminal. he made the comment, "Dont' act like a criminal and I won't call security!" when I went downstairs to talk to somone in a higher position. Conrad Woodall followed me telling me to speak to the Director. The financial director comes and the first thing she ask me if I applied for Financial Aide, (Yes all she cared about if they were being paid). Conrad Woodall walked away laughing at me face about how they were treating me. Since then I have received a complete run around about my education, they never took responsiblity for what they did, they will not refund my lender for the CJ program. I have filed complaints and now I am getting an attorney. Guy Adams, President of Heald, threaten legal action against me if I didn't sign a Confidential Agreement and Release. They sent me to collections for a balance they charged me for transfering schools. If I would have signed this protects them from me sharing my experience at Heald College. I refused to sign and when I asked for a copy Guy Adams would not give me a copy. I told him I needed a copy to get legal advise. His excuse was he didnt' have a copy machine? We were at his office, plenty of copy machines. He finally had no choice but to give me a copy. Guy Adams was so confident that I would give in to his threat that he signed this before I did. The next day he is calling me to see if I was going to sign and if not to return the copy to him. All they cared about was protecting themselves. They claim they did not know I was a graduate! I was told by Guy Adams I was not a paying student. Excuse me! They were paid for Business Skills program and for the CJ program! I never recieved a resolution even after I received a letter from Nolan Miura, CEO of Heald College that they would contact me in 30 days. They never got back to me. THIS SCHOOL IS A SCAM! I HAVE HEARD STAFF MEMBERS MOCKING STUDENTS WHEN THEY SCORE LOW ON TEST. They lie! They lie!.They made an assumption about me with no facts for evidence because I am Hispanic! This Conrad Woodall used his prejudice behavior to enforce authority he does not have! Anyone who write positive things about Heald College is a dam liar! I know what I am been through with these people. I intend to follow up with an attorney and keep writing letters the Government. This is FEderal money they keep while misleading students who are anxious to make a change in their lives..
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

HEALD experience for me was beyond nightmares. I am not a negative person who blame people for my mistakes. I am still trying to dust myself off and trying to obtain my life back. I just wish that there's is something I can do or someone who can help me. I went to Heald broke hoping I can make something of myself with more education with whatever financial aid I have thinking this is it BUT instead I came out in debt, credits all jacked up, can't attend other colleges because they slapped a fee from I don't understand where or for what ...which I can't afford to pay. I got in, got out, and far behind.
Heald is a big dark cave full of blood sucking bats. I am stuck with a debt that I'm not responsible for and a $27, 000 loan. I can't go to any other college because of Heald. This is one College that would make u give up in life.
I have a lot of bad things to say about Heald. So much, in fact, that I don't know where to start. I guess I should start by saying that I am writing this on behalf of my wife. As I am paying the bill, and had to comfort my wife while she went through Heald Hell, I feel entitled.
We too were promised financial assistance, which we needed, and ended up with a huge bill which I am still paying. This has proved to be a tremendous hardship as we subsist on only my disability. This so called assistance turns out to be a loan that cannot be forgiven, even in bankruptcy, and MUST be paid back.
The reason for these comments stem from several issues that Heald refused to take responsibility for. When my wife needed to apply credits from a previous graduation from Heald, they said the courses were too old and they did not teach them anymore, so credits would not be applied. This opened the door for them to require more courses, thus more time and expense.
Then, An Anatomy teacher started his course by telling his new students, (including my wife), that no one in his past classes had ever received a passing grade. He then proceeded to make sexually inappropriate comments, use foul language, tell foul jokes, and make demeaning comments about some of the female students in that class. He behaved in a bazaar fashion by jumping from a standstill onto his desk (to show off?), which scared many of the students. My wife was horrified and came home crying, telling me that she could not continue with this course. (Yes, in my anger, I started out the door to take care of it personally, but my wife insisted against it and said she would just transfer to a different class.) It turns out that several other female students quit his class as well. My wife described this as an exercise in pornography.
When she complained, she was told that there would be an investigation and there had been previous complaints to the same effect
. When she tried to transfer classes, they said they could not accommodate her schedule and she would have to attend THAT class, or take night school. She and I went back several times in an effort to settle the issue and get her education back on track. Nothing doing. My wife had to quit her course and hope for something better in the future.
Then we started getting calls from Heald asking us to pay their portion of the courses. When we asked about the complaint, we were told that the teacher in question had been investigated and cleared. When we suggested they eat the cost of these courses due to these unresolved issues, we were handed back and forth to several different personnel, each telling us that " the investigation proves they were not at fault". Of course, when we asked for evidence of this investigation, we were not entitled. Incidentally, they had no record of a complaint from my wife. The president of Heald Roseville sent us an e-mail stating that the teacher in question had been investigated and was cleared, Yet they had no record of my wifes complaint. Does that mean that someone else complained? Or was he talking about the complaint filed against him from a previous school which one of the administrators accidentally spilled to us?
I suppose I could go on and on about the outdated methods of teaching, publications and requirements, but I think there are enough other complaints to fill in the blanks. I know these comments will come to nothing for us, but if only one person changes his or her mind about going to Heald, and goes elsewhere, that would make me happy.
P.S.- We have a large stack of books for sale... Anyone interested?
I don't think anyone read what the original poster posted. Original poster was a Heald Graduate in 2008. Went back in 2009 to expand to another degree, had some issues, and couldn't enroll for one of the semesters, went in to use the LRC, and was treated like a bum off the street, when in fact, she was using the facility as a graduate, looking for a job, with what was promised to her in her contract.
I love the grammar police up above correcting people's spelling and grammar with even worse grammar and spelling.
Heald IS a scam. That's why the Attorney General of California is suing them for false advertisement and fraud. I was a student there for almost a year. Married teachers are sleeping with student, other teachers are singling out students, have the labs for Networking aren't set up right prior to using them. This school is a money pit for students and a printing press for the school.
Just go to Sierra or American River College. Stay away from Heald.
Thats funny because i called Heald College in stockton just the other day. And a man there i talked to on the phone was so happy to say that if i needed a job while going to school there, That they would be so happy to find me one... So why do you sit here and write that its not their problem to find the graduating class a job that they just graduated from. I think think is ### and i dont think i will waste my time or my money on the school
They dont promise $$$... they promise an education. If you put in the hard work and the time... then thats exactly what u will get. So in other words... you get what you give. Hard work and dedication will get you farther than whining about things you cant change.

Their own employee was providing information to against Heald College, because she knew they were scamming students. ha!
Free job placement is included in the contract, what they don't tell you is who they contract with. Low baller hole in the wall "medical facilities". They don't give you the state certificate that you need to get that title of Medical Billing or for any medical training, you have to do that on your own. As for me I trained myself for IT and many other things I made 50k last year with no schooling, no degree, just a GED. Screw Heald for screwing over my wife with a student loan and no job. Heald can go to hell. Quit promoting the very people that are screwing over this country. Sucking money from people that don't know what the hell they are doing with their life but need money. Heald is a predatory lending scam artist. When I went to heald they had car sales tactics. Pursue your talents and the money will come along with it in time. Don't go to a school because they promise $$$.

I am currently a student at Heald College, the Roseville campus. Your whole situation sounds like "operator error". In other words... grow up and take responsibility for your own actions. Im also currently in Conrad Woodall's class, and I couldn't ask for a better teacher. He applies the knowledge of psychology to our every day lives. Mr. Woodall not only teaches here at Heald, but he teaches self defense at his own company, Leads in various seminars, teaches women over at WEAVE, etc... all while caring for his two year old son battling cancer. True: he has no patience for stupidity or ignorance. However, he's not one to laugh in the face of an honest, hardworking student, as you so claim to be. Its not his fault you lost your job and HAD to take a quarter off to get your ### together. Thats YOUR OWN FAULT. So put your "big girl/boy undies on, and deal with the real world, just as the rest of us have to do. Your an adult now. Act like it.

It's not Healds job to find you a job. You have to do some leg work yourself. Heald always sends me job listings in my inbox but it is up to me to apply for the job. Most of you idiots posting comments will never amount to anything but whiny ### babies. So get off your ### and find yourself a damn job. I am a Heald grad and found a job right after graduation in 2003 I made 35k a year at that new job and worked my way up to making 95k a year at the moment. Heald is a stepping stone to greater things once you get the degree it’s up to you to make use of it. So stop crying ffs.
I agree with you Heald College here in Stockton, bull crap..Financial Aid walk around the school campus acting like they just got one over on a student..This is the worst school, I have ever seen in my life, I can not stand this peice of ### school..
Your educational level is clearly evident by your need to insult people that you do not know. There are no guarantees in life and just because you graduated from college does not guarantee you a job, especially in this economy. There are people with high levels of education that cannot find work right now. The purpose of my post was not to try and "make a difference in this situation" because it is very difficult to change the opinion of people who lack logical pragmatic thought processes. My intent was post something that when read by others would serve as a vehicle for illuminating the emotional laden rambling of everyone else who is posting on this blog. How I spend my free time should be of little concern to you and completely off topic. Some people watch football, gamble, do drugs, commit crimes, indulge in pornography, hike, fish, play scrabble, etc. etc. So what if I periodically respond to blogs? Does this really say anything about my ability to parent or foster good will to others? Of course not. All it shows is your elementary skills at trying to express yourself on any level above basic school yard verbal bullying. Thank you for doing nothing more than illustrating your lack of verbal dexterity which has done nothing but undermine your position when read in comparison to mine. Really? are you sure about that, because if you were sucessful why are you online blogging. Shouldn't you be "happy, not Closed mindedness, or having personal flawless" with all that education you have while YOU are online? Oh that's right you work for Heald College! Ha! Ha! How many students are struggling to pay back loans because they have not found a job or they were promised a "good paying" job. These schools should really think about what they verbalize to potential students on what is being mislead to them. Let's not forget the degree program at these schools are considered not legitimate, some employers will not hire students from Heald College, and the degree is considered low quality at Colleges and Unversities. YOU SEE! and I know you do. Colleges and Unversities do not mislead students about finding jobs after they graduate or promise job placement, especially "lifetime job placement." Last i checked you are innocent until proven guilty. There are two sides to every story and all of the opinions offered by everyone in these posts are based on someone else's own personal account. Heald and other colleges like it provide services to students that for a variety of reasons find it difficult to enter into regular community colleges. Some of these people have children and have to work full-time, some come from dysfunctional families or abusive environments and did not have the same opportunities for scholastic achievement in high school which is the foundation for college competency. Others are returning to college for a specific skill such as Medical Assisting or Medical Billing and Coding and they do not want to spend money on the elective units that regular community colleges require. Whatever the reason, there is a market for these colleges. Heald has been in business since 1863 which is a testament to the fact that the college serves a purpose for many people in this country. Pointing out the fact that you could receive a better education at a another college like Harvard perhaps, is like telling someone you can get a better hamburger at a real restaurant versus the McDonald's Big Mac your are about to shove in your mouth. Fast food serves a purpose too even though we all know it is not the most healthy meal you can consume. Sometimes, you just need something quick. Heald is a stepping stone to help people further their job pursuits, educational goals and personal ambitions. The reality of our society is that anyone who has had ANY college classroom exposure represents the educated elite of our society. You can find these stats easily but just over 80% of the U.S. population has a high school degree. 52% has "some college" and only 27% has a bachelors degree. Personally, I fall in the 8.9% category of those who possess a masters degree and only 3% have a PhD. Of course there are better colleges but the fact is Heald is better then no college which is the choice for the vast majority of Americans since only 27% end up with a bachelors degree anyways. Hopefully, Heald or any other community level college is not the end of a goal but the mid-point on a journey of life-long education. Closed mindedness is a sign of a lack of education as is jumping to conclusions and a whole list of other personal characteristics. You can never please everyone and while I am sure that some people are legitimately dissatisfied with their Heald experience over 140 years of history have kept the college in business so they must be doing something to keep people happy. Anybody that is involved in business of any kind knows that there are always those squeaky wheels out there and there is nothing anyone can do to fix their complaints once they become unhappy because the complaint itself is a manifestation of their personality flaws more then a legitimate cause for action against the company or organization in question.

My years (18 1/2 months are almost completed) I dont have to brown nose any one Mr. Woodall isnt even one of my current teachers I've already Aced my classed thanks. Worked my but off to do so along with a full time job and 2 kids and proud of it! People put more effort into your self and you wont have time for these stupid ### sessions! Dum Dum it's part of the contract to help with job placement, their policy to provide a safe, free intimidation, visual, verbal envirnment. Your posting just shows the education you are being provided with. We will see if you are singing the same song when you can't pay your student loan off with the low paying job you get. The only reason you post a comment (good one) about Conrad Woodall is so that you will get a good grade from him. EVeryone knows if the instructors don't like you they will give you a low grade. hello all you haters! mainly the fedupwiththescams girl I'm a current student at Heald and Mr. Conrad Woodall is nothing but professional and an outstanding teacher. My view of your possition is nothing more than an adolescent who is not getting there way. If you take time off work are you able to go back into your work palce and utlize there equipment? the answer would be NOT! So what makes you think your special? are you that frail that a peice of paper is so damaging? Then Criminal Justice is not for you maybe you should be in Medical or get a degree for whinning! Heald is just like any other school, its up to you to either be an average C student or put some effort into all areas! More than anything it sounds like you need a new carrer goal.

I have to agree with this statement, I graduated from Heald College Roseville, in 2007. Since 2007 they have NOT helped me find a job, and the "leads" that they have given me come from Craigslist. Really? $26, 000 + and you give me leads from Craigslist? I have always disliked Heald, and I make sure EVERYONE knows NOT to go there. Having to "dress up" every Monday is so ridiculous. I worked all day and all i want to do is go home change and go to school. I don't want to worry about making sure I look nice.
A class action law suit needs to happen with this school, they are a joke, and they really don't care about your education, just your money. They say that they are "not for profit" organization, LIES!
OH, and I graduated with an A.S, which is basically a glorified high school diploma.
Why don't you write your name and see if students agree with what you just wrote Robo90.. Every students that has been spoken to has nothing but negative comments at Heald College and fee they have no choice, but to stay! They won't speak up because they know the instructor will give a bad grade and they are stuck paying back loans. I could write about every negative thing that has happen to other students, there are more negative then positive. So what is Heald College going to do about their unprofessional, unethical, greed behavior. NOT a thing! Because it's about the money NOT about the Student's Education! what need to happen here is CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT!
The staff at Heald Roseville are extremely caring and helpful to students. I believe there are many more students & grads who would disagree with this statement than would say it is true.
