Hawaiian Fiberglass Pools of Pinellas ("HFPP") has the franchise to install Blue Hawaiian Fiberglass pools within Pinellas County, Florida and neighboring counties. The Blue Hawaiian fiberglass pools are manufactured in Largo, FL and have an excellent reputation over about a 30-year period.

The people who now have the franchise to install them in this county are another matter (Hawaiian Fiberglass Pools of Pinellas). We contracted to purchase and install the pool through HFPP in Early March 2006. When the representative from HFPP came to the house and negoatiated the deal, we were given promises of extra accessories, price breaks, and that we would have a pool in approximately a month, at the very latest.

It is now July and we have a shell in the ground, filled with water that has already turned green once, and been shocked by HFPP. No Running Pump, no work being done, and no real schedule of when to expect what.

The pools beam (top of fiberglass) is setting level with the elevation of the floor of the house. Given a 2 3/8" Paver on top of that, I now have to walk uphill to the pool, and with any substantial rain, risk the possibility of flooding. I have asked them to lower it to the correct elevation, with no result.

Also, when they were digging and setting the pool, they cracked the driveway, which splintered off in 5 different directions. I have addressed the situation through voice communication, phone, and fax. I have also taken before, during , and current photos, up to todays date. SMART THING TO DO! Protect yourself and your property.

Did I mention, our salesman was fired, and they sent another rep. to tell us they could not honor the verbal promises, or the figures ( in the contract) for various parts of the buildout.

This was after they set the shell in the ground, and were paid, an 80 % figure in the amount of the contract. The day after payment, all work stopped, for almost 2 weeks. i,e, pool turning green.

Also read the back of the contract before signing it. They expect payment in full before the pool is finished, or they will stop all work, and charge you 100 a day/ and fees.

It also states, they are not responsible for damage done. It DOES NOT give them the right to tear up your property. And will never stand in a court of law. PICTURES< PICTURES!

Also do as I have done, and that is to log all communication, dates, conversations, etc...

I cant legally say anything bad about this company, but listen to what I have just said, and what I am going through, in making a decision about your new fiberglass pool.

Oh ya, A friend of mine contracted a company by the name of Sun Pools, And had theirs in before Memorial Day. And love it.

Wish me luck in the outcome, and safe swimming! Lord knows I wont be doing any for awhile.

· The elevation of the pool is off more than 1". The pool deck was planned to be the same elevation as our back step. The step is 1" inch higher than the deck and our sewer clean out drain is 1" taller than deck. This issue has yet to be resolved.

· The pool was not placed in the center of planned deck so we had to enlarge deck at extra cost to us.

· The fiber glass pool came with defects from the factory and then Robert tried to blame the defect on us. The defects have yet to be taken care of.

Problems with concrete job

· We paid Robert to make a concrete step. The concrete step is ½" shorter at on end then the other and cured in the middle. Looks real bad. Issue not resolved

· The concrete footer of the pool deck is more than 3" out of square. Issue not resolved

· The pool stair handle railing is off center and is out of alignment by more than 5 degrees to the center of the pool. Issue not resolved

· The concrete workers could not read plans or drawing and I had to place the rebar in the correct location

· The concrete cantilever deck surrounding the pool is not uniform, wavy and it looks like some kid did the job. Issue not resolved

· We did not get the concrete job that we paid for. We paid for an 18" by 24" footer and only ended up getting 12" by 24" no adjustment was made to the bill. Issue not resolved

· The first concrete guy on the job worked two days and then quit. He said he was independently wealthy and did not need to work.

· The next concrete worker was from French Canada and could not speak, read or under stand English. His wife came over with him one after noon and started giving me a hard time because my kids were playing in the yard.

Problems with the pavers

· The paver crew wasted a lot of pavers by miss cutting the pavers and then throwing them out.

· The deck drain is more than 2 feet off from the planned installation. Issue not resolved

· The paver crew did not know how to square out the job and placed the pavers 3" out of square around the deck. Then they cut pavers and placed wedges to make up for being out of square.

· The pavers are uneven and you can stub your toe on them. Issue not resolved

· The pavers are misaligned and crooked. Issue not resolved

· The payer guys were from Brazil and could not speak English. They had the worst attitude and would not follow instructions.

· We paid for the pavers to be sealed but this job has yet to be completed.

· The Paver manufacture place a Lien on our house because Robert did not pay them. We Paid Robert in full for the pavers so now we have to buy them twice.

General Problems

· A lien was placed on our house by the electrician who hooked up the pump and controls. We paid Robert in full and he refused to pay the electrician. Robert is trying to extort more money from us. Issue not resolved

· The total length of time for this job should have been under a month. We signed the contact in February; they sank the pool in July. We are still not finished with this job late in November.

· I had to pick up trash in my back yard left by his workers. This included soda can McDonalds trash etc.

· During the permit process (February to July) Robert would not return our phone calls as to the status of the permit. We thought that he ran off with our money.

· Robert's crew drover over our sprinkler system with their bobcat and cut off the sprinkler heads and broke the sprinkler pipes. No repair were done

· My back yard lawn was totally destroyed.

· Robert's workers dumped sand in our drive way. When they drove the dump truck on the drive way they cracked our drive way due to the weight of the dump truck. Issue not resolved

· They never swept up the sand out of our driveway.

· We never received the pool class and training they promised us on taking care of the pool. We had it scheduled but they did not show up. Issue not resolved

· Roberts's phone was disconnected. He closed his office.

· I lost over 5 days of work working with Robert and his crews trying to fix their mistakes.

I had the same problem. The salesman made a bunch of promizes. It took them 3 digs and 3 lifts of the pool over the house to get it right.. It was still to close to the house, but for some reason the city passed it.The pool sat there for about a month{got real green}untill the came back. This company upsets me so much,it makes my blood boil.Just come by my house and see the mess
