Hansons Window & Siding - Checking in

Last year (2020) in October or November, we contacted 1-800-Hansons about installing new siding for our house. Corey Clouse came out and gave us a slick, well-rehearsed pitch, then gave us a take it or leave it offer to install new siding on our home. At the time he said that the installation would start in about 6 weeks. It's now been 3-4 months and NOTHING has happened! Corey has stopped responding to my emails also. The contract is for over $41, 000, so for that much money, we should get a weekly status email, not totally ignored by your salesman.

So, I'm asking to get our contract with Hansons canceled so we can hire another company.

Desired outcome: Cancel our contract with Hansons.

Hansons Window & Siding - The roof

They overcharged us, sales person said the roofing shingles were made just for hansons, and had a metal backing. That company employees would install our roof. All false.
The roof was done so shoddy that we had to call the finance company to make sure that hansons could not charge us since nobody would call us back or even send the people out when they said with no calls on way they would not be coming. They damaged our gutters which were in good working condition, they are seamless gutters and the drip edge is not long enough, they never fixed the rafter by the chimney. No vents were put in, though 10 were charged and left on the driveway. We were told that it would be company employees coming out we got contractors and we don't even know if atlas shingles will honor the warranty. It has been the worst mistake of our lives to have gotten our roof from them, as the contractors took things from our job to use on another job, threw over a 1/4 of the roofing supplies in the dumpster, damaged my car by throwing wood off the roof, pulled a telephone line off the house from the telephone pole and never said anything. But then again none of them spoke English well enough to converse about the job.

Hansons Window & Siding - Gutters

Dear Mr. Glazier,
I sent my complaint #1 about a week ago and you called us back immediately and we had a discussion about the problems we are facing with your new gutters and the damage that they have done to our basement because of overflowing.

Several people have visited my home from Hansons and the subcontractors for the gutters and they have all agreed there is a capacity problem with the gutter. The downcommers are way too small, 3 inches by 2 inches and my old gutters ran for 31 years without any problems and their downcommers 4 inches by 3 inches which is 12 square inches and is double the cross-sectional area of the current gutters you have provided. It also looks like the capacity, the depth, is not sufficient enough to hold water and it backs up and overflows.

I tried to impress upon the salesman Mike Sullivan, that I need 6 inch gutters, and he said no, and he sold me 5 inch gutters which now looks insufficient. Although you promised it would be fixed in a week, nothing has happened yet and the gutters are overflowing into the basement and into the garage causing extreme damage to the home.

I sent you a complaint a week or so ago and no action has been taken, we will be taking legal action if I don't hear from you in 24hrs. There is extreme damage to my home due to your gutters overflowing. I need a response ASAP.

Hansons Window & Siding - Bait & switch

My experience working for Hanson's is that they are a High Pressure Bait & Switch company. Since their promotion only allow you to take advantage of special TV offerings when you purchase at "FULL PRICE" which means everyone pays a different price depending upon how long you hold out for or how many times you say NO. If you want the best price tell them NO & to leave. They’ll call you back & offer you a lower price, if you want an even lower price, buy then CANCEL your deal they will come back out & offer an even LOWER PRICE... They claim 50% off normal pricing, but they ALWAYS have a "sale" they couldn't sell at "FULL RETAIL" because those prices are at least DOUBLE what legitimate contractors charge for. They use Alside Windows & Siding (Cheap! at local lumber yard). Sales personnel & Installers are SUB-CONTRACTORS... As a matter a fact when I quit they STOPPED PAYMENT on $958 dollar check that they had paid me, that I had already cashed, as one of their salespersons. Because I decided to find work elsewhere when Ray L. their "Command Center" boss told me in his unprofessional way over 5 times "Your Fired" as a form of workplace harassment. Ben L. in Saginaw told me I was a “Bad Employee” If I didn't keep my mouth shut, and that I wasn't going to get any of the "GOOD LEADS". 50% of the people that buy cancel & most don't receive the financing plans offered. If you want to make a good use of your time & money. Hire a reputable local contractor & DONT LINE BRIAN ELIAS'S POCKETS ANY DEEPER, But hey Brian, Love the commercial. Your DAD would have been so proud of the lies you tell to take people's money. If you want to be telemarketed hard give them your info! They offer you a 1st inspection discount as in “Buy Today” & save, but they’ll leave you with the same discount even if you don’t buy that day… & if you say No they’ll just call it in & get more Discount (signs, advertising, solar eclipse). WHERE’S THE BOTTOM LINE? It’s more of a joke company with a clown as the ringleader, and they don’t value their customers, they have “Contempt” for them.

Hansons Window & Siding - Poor customer service

Upon signing the contract for replacement siding on my house, Hansons first told us it would be 6-8 weeks before the install, so it was okay to take time picking out a color. 1 week later, they called and said they were coming out in the next few days, so we had to pick out a color immediately. We did so, and scheduled a date for the work to be done. My wife took the day off work, without pay, to be there when the workers came. Not only did Hansons not show up, they didn't even call to tell us why they weren't coming. We were frustrated by Hansons neglect of respect for our time, so I called to ask for financial restitution for my wife's wages. Upon speaking with the President, I explained the situation and although he was very courteous, he said they couldn't do anything to help. I then asked to speak with the owner, Brian Elias, so he forwarded my call to him. When Brian picked up the phone, I told him my name and asked if he was briefed on the situation. Without provocation, Brian launched an immediate verbal attack on me saying that he didn't care who I was or what I wanted, he wouldn't do anything to help me. I was stunned by his response and asked if he knew what the situation was. Brian responded by saying it didn't matter what I was calling about, that he deals with "people like me" every day, and he could care less what I had to say. I asked him if this is how he treats all his customers and he said, only the difficult ones (again, this was all unprovoked, as I said nothing up front other than my name). I then told him that if this is how he treats his customers, I would rather not do business with Hansons and will pull my business away. Brian immediately responded saying that he didn't care if I pulled it because he he would just sue me for breach of contract. I again was shocked and asked how could he expect to run a business treating people like this. He again said he didn't care what I thought and backed me into a corner...get the work done or get sued. No matter what I tried to say to or ask of Brian, he treated me with utter disrespect and rudeness. I told him that I would have no choice but to get the work done, but promised to make sure everyone I know is made aware of his business practices...which I have held true to since the day I spoke with Brian. THIS IS A WARNING...DO NOT USE HANSON'S. GO ONLINE AND DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH...YOU WILL SEE THAT BRIAN ELIAS TREATS ALL HIS CUSTOMERS THIS WAY. THERE ARE MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, AS BRIAN ELIAS DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYONE...HE IS ONLY CONCERNED WITH TAKING YOUR MONEY!

Disapointed Roof

6 weeks to date since the start of my NEW roof and HANSONS is still not done FIXING all of the mistakes that were made after an inspections... after the roofers completed the sloppy job, the roofers cut my siding, HANSONS had to send out a siding crew which took 3 visits! .., they then sent out a team to fix the FLASHING mistakes..Said they would return to install a vent that they "forgot" to install... still waiting! NOW they need to fix my Gutters that they damaged... Still waiting for a reply as to a date that they will return.. WHAT A JOKE.. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY... THE COMMERCIALS ON TV ARE ALL STAGED.. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT NOTHING BUT THE $$$$!
