Hampton Ceiling Fan / Don't buy Hampton Bay fans!

1 United States Review updated:

I purchased a ceiling fan and installed per the manufacturers directions. The fan stopped turning after two months of operation. When I called Hampton's customer service they told me sounded like a capacitor problem. They told me they would mail me the part with instructions on how to repair. The part came with no instructions and when I called back the technical rep displayed the rudest behavior that I have ever encountered. I finally informed him to just mail the instructions and I would figure it out. When I opened the fan to repair the capacitor I witnessed a bubble of grey matter which had oozed out of the capacitor. After a week I'm still waiting for the instructions to arrive in the mail. DON'T BUY HAMPTON BAY FANS!

There's more to this story than what the OP is willing to disclose...

I'm 101% sure that when you call back for the missing instructions you became an cocky arrogant pig and the representative wasn't gonna tolerate your tone of voice or nasty behavior So she/he let you have it, .
