This company should not be allowed to operate an apartment complex. Many, many complaints but the two most obscene examples of their behavior are: 1. Water damage to an entire room due to an unfixed roof January '08 (lost computer & various other computer parts, many books, luggage, etc... 1, 000's of dollars worth of property), 20 calls (with two messages) left at the emergency line, manager's apartment, and rental company all unanswered... They do not use their emergency line (why have one, then?)... Of course, even though the losses were due to their negligence, they refused to take any responsibility and in fact turned the blame on us saying water came through the window where we placed a window a/c unit (no water actually came through that area, but even if it were so, none of our ruined things were in front of that area, all the expensive items were under the various drips from the ceiling).

2. The water is continually shut off in the complex due to "plumbing repairs." Understandable every once in awhile, however it occurs an average of one full day every two weeks, including weekends, often past the time they say the water will be turned on... this is completed unacceptable as water is needed to bathe, pee, ###, drink, wash, etc... It happens so often and they use the same plumbing company every time... Obviously, Halt-Ten is either being shabby in their request in order to save money so little patches that take up a lot of time are required often, or the plumbing company is incapable of completing their task correctly and they need to be replaced. One or the other, no excuses for being without water days at time, most weeks.

I lived here for almost 2 years. In the time that I lived there, my water was continually shut off with no warning, and off during inappropriate hours (like when I was home at night). No explainations. I could never get a hold of management via the emergency pager, knocking on the door or calling. No one ever called me back. It was all very sketchy.

When I moved out, and gave the proper 30 days notice, I had to wait 2 months to receive my move-out. they would NOT do a formal walk-through with me. In fact, when I moved in, there was no walk-through either and I noted the issues on the paperwork. When I finally did receive the statement, it was WRONG and I did not get my security deposit back .they listed items that were broken when I moved in! I could never get anyone to call me back either. After 4 months of trying, I gave up.

This is the worst place I have ever lived in. I had neighbors threatening to kill themselves daily. Parties that were out of control. And an on-site landlord that did nothing. Things were continually broken. I would never rent from them and hope no one else falls for the same trap. Horrible.

I just moved from there several months ago after living there WAY too long. We also lost hundreds of dollars of property due to water damage...twice! They said they fixed it one year and then a year later the exact same spot did it again. We finally got fed up and moved out. We are suing them in small claims court because of fraudulent charges upon move-out as well as a spoken agreement they broke. Our fraudulent charges included late fees that we never had. I can't image a worse place to rent.

I also rented an apartment there. It took them three months to send me my itemized moveout statement and when I did receive it... there is over 2, 000 dollars of fraudulent charges for all kinds of repairs! Most of the problems were already there and I had to deal with for the 2 years I lived there and they would NEVER fix anything. I have tryed calling them over twenty times to discuss the statement with them but the manager hangs up on me. This is the worst apartment i have ever lived in.
