Gym Company gym still taking debit orders even after my contract has expired and they refuse to pay it back

Hi

I attended Gym in Braamfontien in 2016 and my contract ended in January 2017. I attended the gym in January this year and told the staff but no one thought of telling me that I must sign a completion form when contract ends. Because my contract ended and nowhere in the contract does it state this rule, the gym decided to renew my contract? like i really thought one had to sign in order for such contracts to be bound but they decided to debit money from my account for 6 months. When I did notice I went to complain at the gym, they processed my complaint to Tanya and all she did was ask for my Id number and never replied to my emails further about my money, no contract was signed therefore it is null and void and I am a student and i want my money back, was able to speak to some lawyers and if this is not sorted one way or another something will be done. I want my money back, it was easy to take my money please don't stall in returning iy

Gym Company transfer of membership

I was transfered my membership by someone in 2016 and she started the contract in 14, I was asked at Maponya Mall whether or not I'd like to continue from where she was or start afresh and I clearly said stated continue, now I am being told that I have started afresh and not continuing from where my friens was meaning I have to pay for many more months. This is unfair

I am not happy with the manner in which Gym Company management is treating clients. At sales state they promise you all good things how they are passionate about customer service. I joined them early 2015 because after they promised me that I should not worry about the area since I explained to them that I want the once closer to my job so Braamfontein branch was the perfect one. That's when I decided to join. This year June I joined my 13 year old daughter at Braamfontein because I was happy with the distance she has to travel to and from gym on her way to school. Few weeks after that we got a one week notice to say that they are closing the branch. Since then none of us has been able to attend the gym because other branches are not convenient for us. Why did they not tell me that they are closing the branch in order for me to decide whether I still want her to register with them or not. I feel that I was unfairly treated and now they are expecting me to pay R600 cancellation fee. What a cheek? Gym company has to close down altogether they are reaping people off

Gym Company undue debit orders and bad service

Greetings,

I have been having the worst 8 months and I do not think it will end due to the incompetence of the Braamfontein manager Bongani.
I followed procedure to transfer membership and he failed to do so, I have been having to pay for a service I do not use because of his failure. Every encounter is awful and he insists that he is doing me a favour which baffles me because it's his job. I don't know what to do anymore.
This month they went as far as debiting both R50 as well as R199 after he reassured me once again that all was in order and that I would no longer be debited.

Please help.

Gym Company my account being debited after my contract has lapsed

I signed a 12 months contract last year in February and now my account is still being debited in June the following year. I called to cancel and they are telling me that I need to go to the gym to fill out a cancellation form and I am currently residing in the western cape. I can't travel 1500 km to cancel a membership that was supposed to have ended 4 months ago.

Gym Company complain about the contract

I have never agree with gym company contract after given the gym company people my details and have also phoned the guy the same day to cancel my details because I wasn't interested and now they're busy sending me message that I have to pay the overdue amount of money while I've never trained or take any of their particulars. My big problem is how will I'm going to pay that amount of money while I'm a student at Medical University of South Africa(Medunsa Campus) because my name it will end up been at Credit Bureau, another thing is I don't even have client number and the only proof that I have at the moment is Reference Number:D133327P.

Right now I don't know what must I do! or I have to go to National Credit Act or Police Station. Or you will be able to assist me

Gym Company bad service, defamation of character, payment not received ripoff.

I opened my account at the branch in Eastrand Mall in October 2016 and I've been paying my account every month cash because they said they can't change to debit order. I went to the gym in march to find out what the process would be if I want to downgrade my account and a very rude guy checked my account and told me they can't downgrade my account because my account is blacklisted and that they've never received a payment from me. I requested to speak to the manager and they refused to help me. The Monday I emailed them the proof of payment of every month that I've had my account for and explaining the situation, I haven't receive a response from their manager up till today, I then called their finance lady who is not very customer friendly and explained my situation and she said she can't do anything and after calling 3 times a day for 2 weeks long they said they will fix it and then after about 2 months of me calling them every day they said my account is fixed. I went in on Saturday 10/06/2017 to pay my account as usual and I was told that I owe them a balance of R2000, So I called them again this morning and asked the lady what's going on with my account and she said yet again that it's not her fault she can't do anything and she doesn't know if it can be fixed they calculated my contract incorrectly, I received very poor service from her and I refuse to stand for this any longer they are incorrectly blacklisting people and messing around with their accounts, This should not be allowed and someone should do something about it.

Gym Company gym company - blacklisted me although they took over one year to open gym.

In 2014 the gym company was getting its randburg square gym ready, after signing contracts, they deducted joining fee of r200 and told me and my colleagues were told the gym would open month end, but this didn't happen. We were informed that there is delay due to equipment bad the gym would open at the end of the current month. This didn't happen, along the coming months they kept on making excuses that the is delay in equipment supplier. The gym only opened over a year later. At this time I had already joined another and I have been there since. Now in 2017 they are calling me saying they have black listed me because I owe them r5000.00 and I need to pay them cancellation fee of r500.00 or they will not remove my name from black listening. Don't join gym company.

Gym Company bait marketing

I have since signed a contract with gym company at East Rand Mall, my understanding at the time was that the membership will be activated once I visit the gym, of which I never did and to this day R199 goes off my bank account monthly, I have then complained to the consumer ombudsman and the case was lost due to the fact that I have signed the contract - and I asked the consumer legal department if they have questioned if I was fully conversant with the contract as the law of contract (caveat emptor) requires and I concluded after losing the case that I have enlisted the service of a toothless dog.
today, on enquiry, I wanted to know if I could bring my partner to gym with me since on their website it is clearly stated - "under privileges that one could bring a partner every day for free" - even when I understand that it is a privilege - it should be clear, is this privilege permanent or temporary? because I am of the opinion that every day presupposes 365 days of the year?
this is another way of roping in unsuspecting consumers into their bait scheme, I so wish I could have a legal mind strong and willful enough to take this matter on, gym company is taking people for a ride and they don't give a damn.
I appeal to every sane south African to thoroughly inspect the contract before signing it especially of the company in question.
I am pro south African companies but I do not condone fraud like activities and they should be made aware that people are not at all happy with this kind of marketing strategy, they sound all good but they do not deliver on their promises.
Gym Company please be reasonable and fair in your business dealings.

Gym Company my account is being debited after I requested in 2016 I want to cancel

I have decided to cancel my membership with the Gym company in Newtown, Bree street.
I have been contacted several times by the branch and they advised me they will debit for the outstanding month and then cancel the membership.
I am expecting so therefore I cannot continue gyming and also, I am no longer working that side of town so it is more difficult to attend Gym. Every month the R199 is still being debited and I need this to be stopped ASAP!
I haven't been at the Gym for over 7 months and I do not think that I will be going back anytime, at least not to the Gym company.
I am not happy with the service especially after I have informed them I will be cancelling. I was asked to come to the branch and I have advised them it is difficult as I have changed jobs and no longer passes through town and my hours are different. I have asked them to email me the cancellation form but this was never done.
Can we have this sorted out immediately as I do not want another debit order to go off at the end of May. I cannot keep paying for something I do not use!
I cannot recall the exact dates they phoned me, but it was more than once.
I have received sms reminders to pay outstanding fees and that is wht I phoned them back.
Unfortunately, I have a new phone so my sms's were lost that was not on the sim card.
I do not want a refund, I just want them to STOP debiting my account and close my account in their files.

Gym Company termination of contract within the 60 day cooling off period

I joined the gym company (Baragwanath) in March 2017, but due to the kind of work I do I later realized that it wouldn't be possible for me to attend gym as I knock off late and wont have the time to attend, so I sent them an email on their website asking them to cancel my membership since I was still within the cooling off period. To my surprise they blatantly ignored my email and R300 was deducted of my account.

I am failing to understand whether these people actually know what they are doing or they are just out to get our monies.. what pisses me off the most is that when you call the gym they do not answer their phones are unattended.

And then after they steal my money, they then sent me an sms that my account was in arrears and that it would be handed over if payment is not made immediately.

Gym Company monthly gym fee deducted even after cancellation

I cancelled my membership in March 2017, paid the cancellation fee in full, at the end of March money was still deducted from my account, I enquired at the braamfontein branch and was told the cancellation took place too late for the deductions to not take place. I asked for confirmation that they had cancelled the dedication from their side, that lady told me she was offline and would send it via email. Which she never did. At the beginning of April I went again to enquire she told me she had forgotten but all was in order yet still this month money was deducted from my account. It is utter nonsense and I refuse to pay so much money for a gym I only used for a week. I demand my money back immediately.

Gym Company refusing terminating my contract

I'm a Zimbabwean who has visited South Africa for 3 Months, one of your guys signed me up for a gym contact by park central mall, only realized that it's a 36 months contact when I saw the gym trying to debt money from my account which was already on zero. And I ddnt realize that I had signed up for a debit order, when I was handed the yellow slip was told I would use it to enter the gym, honestly I didn't have money for subscription but thought I would take advantage of the free membership that was going on that week. I never attended the gym and I notified the gym 3 days after the Failed debit order but they refusing to cancel my subscription. I still wonder how the consultant signed me up for a 36 months contact seeing that my passport had days up to 10 June, I feel it was all about getting commission at my expense
I hereby put forward the request to have the contact terminated with immediate effect, I have visited the gym more than 5 times without getting help to this regard, at one point being told to pay over R3000 or my name will be blacklisted as a bad debtor. The debit order failed to take R199 cause the account is on zero, let alone R3000, I'm keeping this message as my reference and will send a copy to your email again incase there is need to contact Consumer Protection or you at one point decide to accuse me of owing you thousands after a couple of years

Gym Company gym membership.

My name is vincent I have a contract with gym company. I have opened this account due to in november 2015. As I was told a bigger gym would be opening in february 2016. The gym has got more people over time and has got really full. This gym is really small and is literally the size of my lounge and kitchen. I only joined as I was lead to believe a bigger gym was opening. To date it is still not openned. I have tried to cancel my contract. However, I have been quoted a substantial amount. I am cancelling as I was sold something under false pretences. I have an email from the gym manager that says it was meant to be opened in feb this year and if not I can cancel. However, it is still not open and he is now not replying to my mails. I have now resorted to freezing my account due to fact the the proper gym has not opened. I have been lied to that the biggest gym company gym will be open in florah center I have been waiting for just over a year. My bank account is still being debited for the normal amount even though it has been frozen. I would like this cancelled without making any further payments or paying a cancellation fee as I was lied to

Gym Company fraud and con artists

Me and my wife joined the gym company... Being a newbee at the gym I seeked some help from one of yor staff (Personal trainer) and an employee of the gym company.
He spoke to me gave me a his fees I accepted it... And guess wat he ran away with my money... After one training session and what I dont understand is that he conveniently does nonlonger work at the gym! And no other trainer will help me even though I have been coned. I just feel abused and mistreated. After numerous call to him no answer as when I will get my money. So the gym says it got nothing to do with us surly there must be a system to protect the user/end user. Will never support your brand again and wil make sure none of my frends will either!

Gym Company gym membership

To say that iam upset is an understatement, so gym company decides to list me on itc for a ####ing R7300 and how they got to calculate that amount iam baffled, first and foremost I requested for cancellation within the cooling off period secondly I've been sending emails to this useless incompetent manager george who's customer service has gone to the dogs to say the least, till date I haven't received any response to my email and thanks for ruining my credit record now no company can hire perhaps gym company would like to hire me since well the manager is as good as ####ed up I want this fixed as a matter of agency how pathetic is a service where one sends emails every time and there's no response my last email was sent in may last year.

Gym Company unfair itc listing

In november or december 2014 I was approached by a guy from gym company who mad3 an application for me to join thu gym. I was told that I would get a carp which I didn't, so I decided I wanna cancel the membership in january 2015. I called their branch in maponya where I made an application but could not get through as the phone just rang with no response. So in december 2015 I got a final demand of r8209.00 for a gym I didn't even go to or use their facilities. This is really bad because I can't do anything or apply for anything because I have been blacklisted. Can somebody pleaseeeeese assist me...

Same thing has happened to me with this company it's unlawful, has nobody taken legal action against these guys.

Dispute this unlawful Listing and get it removed.they are a real headache.

Gym Company unfair default listing

In 2012 I was approached by one of the gym company (Bree street johannesburg) guys and I agreed to join the company provided the guy with all my details and he provided me with the temporary access card and advise I can now go to the gym. As it was on wednesday I just decided I will start on monday.

On monday packed my gym bag and after work I went to the gym and when I got there provided the receptionist with my temporary access card. She checked on the system and advised that she cant find my name or details in the system, explained to her who helped me with the application and what I was told. She asked for my id number as the temporary card had the membership number and still they was no details of me been a member.

She then called the head office and still they couldn't get my name, left embarrassed and disappointed. No one called and they was not even any debit orders on my account. Now in 2016 I requested for my itc record to be send and they was gym company. Called them and spoke to the lady by the name of nomusa from gym company bree street who I told the story and she advised she is not sure the receptionist say that. And she advised she can only give me amnesty settlement as that is the only time they can remove the listing.

Since im in a process to buy a car I paid the amnesty settlement on the 25th november 2016 and I was told my credit report will be updated within 5 days. Tried to apply for a car finance and it was declined due to the default. Called gym company and spoke to nomusa on the 06th december 2016 asking her to confirm that request was send and that my credit record will be updated. Nomusa advised to give me a call back as she needs to call the head office and confirm and she will give me a call back. Waited for her call until I knocked off, today again I call her and she advise she is busy with an urgent request to itc requesting for the removal. Waited for her until I walked to the gym as its not far from my work and spoke to a very rude guy who advised that nomusa left and she is not the one sending requests and it will be done when its done.

Kindly assist me as im busy with the car finance, gym company really affected my life negatively now I cant get a car because they just went and listed me without even calling me to advise me of the debt. Since they knew they were on the wrong they just listed my credit record.

Gym Company fraud

I met some guys of Ur gym in parkstation and they call me i talk to them agree to join the gym gave them my details but unfortunately I didn't go to the gym cop I was busy so I never went to any of our gym facilities but to my surprise my account was debited on the 28/11/2016 I would like to know why how is tht possible how can i pay for wot i did no do, i would really like to get my money back .Amanda Qwele D19063n
