Complaint against Gym Company New town. I have tried to cancel my membership with them however they keep demanding that I pay more and more money to them. My membership had expired in April 2017 and I was informed by the Gym consultants over the phone that I would need to go to the actual gym in order for me to cancel even though I had specifically mentioned that I am not based in Newtown anymore.

They kept debiting my account even though I called them to cancel the membership. Only when I reversed the debit order in July did they call me to ask me to make payment. When I explained my situation to the lady named Mbali, she asked me to make the payment I had reversed and send her a cancellation letter via email.

I made the payment, sent proof of payment and cancellation letter. I then called her to confirm receipt of my email. She then said that I needed to pay R400 instead of the R200 which I had paid as my debit order for August had already been taken. The amount I had to pay was not clearly stated to me and why would I have to pay R400 if my account was already debited. I was also informed that should this not happen by the end of August, I would need to pay for September also. I explained that I cannot make any further payments as this membership was supposed to have been terminated in April 2017 already. She hung up on me. When I called back, she told me that I would be blacklisted.

I am utterly disgusted by the treatment I have received from Gym Company and I am requesting for any assistance that I may have.

I went to a shopping mall , are the gym company employees were promoting their product, they asked for my id number just to check if I could qualify, they then asked for my home address and name. I did not sign any document. Now Im getting messages to say that My account is in areas. Please help. and I dont understand when they tell be to pay R600 for cancellation.

Cancel gym contract because we have not been to the gym due to personal problems we went through since January of this year

I was approached by one of the Gym Company Promoters at the mall and he had said to me that they are offering me a contract for 3 months but I've just realised that the yellow slip given says 36 months... I would like to cancel this contract because I'm a student and do not think this gym will suit my time as it is also too far from where I live.

Good day

My name is Zikhona Mabhongo. I was approached by an agent / employee of the GYM Company on the 18th March 2017 and the guy whom I spoke two explained that me providing my details ( bank details) will not mean that a debit order will be done unless I am a full/permanent member of the GYM Company. I have not been to the GYM, stop debit.

Honestly speaking though, I joined Gym Company because they said I would be paying only R100, come the end of June R100 and then R199 debit order by Gym Company. Where on earth should I get the money to pay this? I am only a student, I don't work.I so want out off this. My parents can't afford this especially since we are on a recession...

This is not the 1st time I am being billed in inaccurately... R80 and R99

Mentioning this to reception I am told that I need to go to the bank and reverse your mess are you [censored]an stupid you made the mess you fix it.

Your staff take no accountability for your companies action.

I Was cheated on just so the sales consultant could close the deal. I enquired about 12 month contract and was told that they only had 36month
I went into the branch no one could help me!
I would like to get this sorted out before I make any further payments for a bad service received by gym company thus far.

I cancelled my contract in December 2015 and i only discovered that they have been debiting my account till last month February 2018, i called to complain but there is no1 taking responsibility but all blaming the old stuff.

i requested information about the gym company from one of the guys and they requested my details but i personally told them im not interested as i am not working and i wont be able to pay for that service ( i only requested for information & not joining the gym)
