GunBroker Support request ignored and refusal to help fix account issues

I have been trying to update my FFL address on my account for months. My support requests have been ignored and they refuse to help to find a solution. Instead they do not reply to my requests and they even went as far as to block my account and it took me a month to re-verify so I could even log back in.

I am a paying customer and all I have wanted for them to fix a account address change. I have never experienced such a blatant disregard for customer service support.

I even tried to upgrade to a gold account and was charged for it but they never actually upgraded my account from a standard account. I only upgraded because I thought I would get better support service, clearly I was mistaken.

I still get no responses to my support requests just a email after asking me to review the support received. I have lost a lot of business and time dealing with these guys. Really unfortunate

Desired outcome: Customer support

GunBroker Item number [protected] ruger mini 14 ranch ordre no [protected]

When I received the rifle the rear sight aperture was broken off and not in the packaging. I notified the seller and he said it was on there when shipped, After I replaced the sight I went to fire the rifle and it would not fire. I took it to a reputable gunsmith who told be the firing pin had been altered and was broken. Also the extraction plug needed to be replaced. I notified the seller sent him the broken parts and asked that he reimburse me for the cost and he has not responded. I was not asking for the labor cost which would have been $100 in addition to the $95 for the parts that I purchased. The seller is Yeager Collectible Arms LLC, 3786 TEAYS VALLEY ROAD, HURRICANE, WV [protected]. Email [protected]@yeagerarm.com

Desired outcome: Reimbursement of $95 for the cost of the parts

GunBroker Buyer protection conflicting/unlawful t&c’s

I won an HKVP9 auction for $500. Allen Russel the seller reached out to me via text immediately. We made arrangement for me to sent money online from my Wells Fargo Account, as proof of purchase, to the account of his choosing (his daughter-in-laws account). He confirmed receipt via text and committed to contacting my FFL and sending item to him via FedEx.

The next day I received this letter from GunBroker:

" Pertaining to Item # [protected] - HK VP9 9mm Mint Condition for sale

Recently you won the item referenced above from a seller on the site under User Name: allenrussell641

There is a chance the transaction could be fraudulent and we request you to NOT FORWARD FUNDS TO THE SELLER.

The Order related to this item has been Cancelled. Please do not respond to communication from the seller or forward payment.

If you have any questions, please respond to this support issue.

Thank you for using GunBroker.com."

Allen Russel the seller never contacted my FFL, never sent me the FedEx tracking number or the item.

I immediately contacted GunBroker to report the problem on Dec 18, 2020.

I said, " You sent this warning 18 hours after I already paid him. Ugh."

Gunbroker said, " Please contact your financial institution to dispute the payment."

I said, " I will follow up with a financial institution dispute. Gunbroker.com site assured coverage up to $500 ($100 deductible). I followed all the rules required for it."

Gunbroker to my surprise led me astray, claiming, " There is not a Buyer's Protection Program Claim on the site at this time. Please make sure you initiate and complete if your financial institution is not able to reverse the payment."

I said, " ? I have screen captures of your Buyer Protection active at the time of this incident and its Terms and Conditions. If financial institution fails I intend to use it..." because I relied on this protection to proceed with auction participation.

I worked with my financial institution tirelessly until I received in the mail today (March 8) a denial letter YOUR Buyer Protection Program requires. I could NOT file for your protection, according to YOUR instructions until this letter was available, within 30-60 days your program placed at odds with receiving protection.

So two conflicting requirements — "supply your financial institutions denial letter" AND file within "30-60 days of transaction" suggest a remedy is forthcoming.

Desired outcome: Accept claim, reimburse the $400 of $500 lost

There is a thread of emails between me and a GunBroker service rep since I first file and attempted to file a GunBroker Buyer Protection claim. A human once replied, but afterward I only get auto replies “Your request (1042424) has been updated. To add additional comments, reply to this email.” How does anyone get a human and notified of a determination and reimbursement?

I am going through a similar situation. the seller sent my FFL an EMPTY gun case that was booked at 5 pounds shipping. My FFL weighed the package and it came in at 5 lb, 7 oz. A rifle and scope should weigh at least 10 pounds.

Seller adamantly stated he shipped the rifle, then got back to me and stated he found the rifle and would ship and provide the tracking number. Today he gave me the old tracking number, and implied the FFL had stolen the rifle.

As an aside, moniey or payment sent through the US Postal service for products or services not rendered is mail fraud, a felony. Furthermore the ATF can be called in on this.

GunBroker Non paying buyer

Unable to request credit
In order to request a credit you must relist item 882798907.

This is what I get when I attempt to request a credit. I did relist the item and it sold but I relisted it as an auction this time instead of relisting it as a buy it now. Originally the buyer backed out and decided not to pay for the item. I immediately relisted it as an auction and it sold about a week later. Gunbroker agents are dancing around the fact that they have charged me twice for the same listing sale even though they acknowledged the fact that it was relisted. I have tried contacting them several times and they will not resolve the over charge to my account. Also mysteriously the break down of the recent charges has disappeared.

GunBroker Cancelling fees for non-paying bidders.

Order [protected] and [protected]. I submitted credit requests but since fees were still showing on my account. Cancelled both orders hoping that it would resolve the issues.. To no avail. I am not getting any responses for support except that they are looking into it. Feels like I am dealing with robots?

I do not understand what is so difficult to resolve? No sales = no fees!. In addition both non-paying bidders have not been removed from gb for not only not paying but having the wrong address listed.?

It is extremely frustrating to not get a higher level of support especially dealing with firearms sales.. And no phone support?
Thank you

GunBroker Terrible, unethical service

Gunbroker as Gunbroker.com
Total Rip off site. If you leave negative feedback for a seller that screws you, they will remove it if the seller asks, but let's the seller's lies in their feedback of you remain, because they make money off the seller not you. They are too stupid to know that without buyers they don't make ANY MONEY...!
There are too many other Honest sites out there, you do not need to deal with these blatant feedback sell outs!

GunBroker Customer service & billing

I had a winning bidder back out and fail to pay. I jumped through all of Gunbroker's hoops to get a credit. I waited the 10+day period as well. After the time was up, I sent a message (about 2 weeks ago) inquiring about the credit. No response. I sent 2-3 more messages and still no response. Today my credit card was charged for the entire amount. I sent them a message today to ask why they charged me even though my credit request process was complete. I'm not very hopeful they're going to refund me. My biggest complaint is that they don't even have the courtesy to RESPOND to multiple inquiries. Needless to say I won't be using Gunbroker again. I'll also encourage everyone I'm in contact with in the firearms industry (about 5 FFLs a week) not to use (or discontinue using) Gunbroker as well.

GunBroker Seller engaged in fraudulent misrepresentation, customer support blew off my request for help

I purchased an item on gunbroker, only to have the seller try to invoice me for his cost of the sale, even though the auction clearly stated "seller does not collect taxes / fees"... Also, the seller tried to charge me for a more expensive shipping option (ups ground), when he stated in the auction usps priority was available, and I requested the cheapest available option. When I confronted him about that, he claimed he no longer shipped via usps because he had something stolen at the post office, despite the fact that he listed usps as an available shipment method in the auction. When I requested support from gunbroker, they waited 4 days, did not contact me to get more information (though they were apparently in contact with the seller) and after four days issued a dismissive two sentence response that demonstrated that they had not read my complaint or the rationale for requesting bid cancellation, and only covered one of the two problems I indicated in my support request, affirming that I had to comply and pay the previously undisclosed fee. I tried following up with them, but they didn't respond.

Either the person who responded to this claim is intellectually deficient and can't be bothered to read what I wrote, or he is biased towards sellers and/or completing the auction so gunbroker can get their fee. Either way, I don't think i'm going to do business with them any more, since they treated me like I was a second-class citizen in the dispute resolution process, and ultimately ruled against me when it was about as clear as it could be that the seller engaged in deceptive advertising.

The big problem is ...which company or auction site can you trust any more? GB only has real customer support for high-end SELLERS, not the buyers.
And the complaints and customer service are non existent. I have had many good experiences there, and in a perfect world that is what you should have.

But if you are screwed by the buyer...you are screwed. No help from Gunbroker at all.

GunBroker customer service

I liked to use Gunbroker.com because they have some good stuff on their site. At some point, someone bid or bought something, which I obviously didn't pay for because I had no idea about it because I didn't bid on it. I found out about this when I tried to sign into my account. GB.com suspended my account and I couldn't even request they reopen until 11/11/19. I have written them countless times and all I've received were automated emails, that didn't even address my issue. The automated emails said I could request reactivation of my account on 11/11/19 but when I did they changed the date to the end of November. No one from GB.com has ever contacted me regarding the fraudulent purchase that was made on my account, in fact no one has contacted me at all, despite the fact both my wife and I have been locked out of our accounts for over three months and counting for something we didn't do. If GB.com didn't have the selection of parts they do I would never give them any future business. Enjoy the site, just know, if ever there is a problem with your account, like fraud for instance, you will be s**t out of luck. So unbelievably disappointing.

GunBroker seller refuses to communicate with me.

I purchased a gun from a gunbroker seller on Nov.30th.
I mailed my payment 10 days ago. After a week I emailed the seller to ask if he had received my payment...something I routinely do and which I believe is understandable considering the unreliability of the postal service, particularly at this time of year. Rather than answering my question the seller told me to read "paragraph 9" of their terms and conditions. I was surprised to discover that paragraph 9 states that they don't have to answer sellers' questions. This initiated an email battle which undoubtedly consumed more of the seller's time that it would have taken to simply do me the courtesy of confirming whether or not they'd received my payment. I am left not knowing if my payment was received and, if so, when/whether the gun has been shipped. I'm not naming names at this point as I feel gunbroker buyers might benefit from a change in your own terms and conditions which would require sellers to extend the simple courtesy of answering such basic questions.
I have used your service for years and have, up until now, encountered no problems. I hope this can be addressed.
Thank you,
William Hungate

GunBroker DO NOT trust with credit card or bank account information.

- Gunbroker.com double charged my credit card for selling one item. I've given them 30 days plus 24 hours notice to compensate, but they still have not returned what they have taken. They say it's only "due diligence", and always have an "reason" for their actions - but after reading the dozens (or maybe hundreds) of complaints on BBB, scam report, and several other sites you'll understand why I believe they are running a purely dishonest online operation. Charging a credit card for money not due is fraud. My advise is to not give them ANY credit card or bank account information. Once they have your credit card or bank account they will take money from it whether it's legitimate or not. I believe they will do or say anything, including altering records and account activity, to prolong this activity.

- If you risk doing business with them - keep good records and screen shots images of ALL account activity and communications. In this case, I believe they clearly altered the records once they saw an opportunity for additional financial gain. There is no "customer service" that I can see, so the due-diligence argument is moot and moreover misleading.

- I have no doubt that you WILL be financial harmed by Gunbroker.com, sooner or later. To file meaningful complaints, or to recover illegal financial transactions, contact the Attorney Generals for the State of Georgia and your state of residence to protect other consumers. If it involves a credit card, you can also contact the Federal Trade Commission and file an online complaint for credit card fraud. You can also contact the Bureau of ATFE and file an ethics complaint. In light of all of this, Gunbroker.com clearly has no place in the public trust whatsoever and I believe their FFL MUST be revoked.

GunBroker Payment to seller, 4 months and no delivery of the firearm

Purchased a firearm on this site 4 months ago and have not received it yet. Gunbroker has been no help in resolving the situation. They say the don't even verify a firearm exist or if it is legal to sell to the civilian market. They almost never respond and then it is in vague terms to just say they responded. There are hundreds of complaints on web sites, seem to be very good evaluation of this company and how they do business. A better name probably should be GunJunker especially for their buyers. They also seem to uprate their rating of their sellers on their site. May be time for a class action against this company and time for the ATF to look into their procedures. They do pave their way by being associated with the gun groups. Am a life member of the NRA but feel they are lacking in their association of this business on the years. Best advice is not to deal with them and pass it own to your friends. If you do your "6" is highly exposed.

GunBroker Bad service

Auction # [protected] - seller Gerbig militaria

Seller left neg feedback and refused to ship item because I wouldn't pay twice. Claimed I failed to send enough to cover sales tax. My original payment was more than 7% (NE sales tax amount) over the sales price on the invoice the seller provided. The original invoice did not show how much of what I paid OVER the sales price was for shipping and handling or how much was for taxes. Invoice was for $119.99 from customer. I paid in full. I received a 2nd invoice for more than $128.00 after they already received $119.99, not an invoice for $8 additional dollars. I asked for a refund. Seller stated they would refund. Today I received my postal money order, torn apart in the mail. I doubt I can cash it in now. I have copies of all emails.

Then Gunbroker removed my negative feedback for this seller. I guess they pay enough for Gunbroker to allow this type of client. How is it my responsibility to double check a seller's invoice to make sure they charge sales tax. Especially when the amount they provide in their invoice more than covered the 7% NE sales tax. There is no way I could itemize their invoice based on the info they provided. They screwed up. Gunbroker is screwing up by allowing honest buyers to get screwed. They didn't send the item at the price THEY told me to pay. They did not refund my money. That's theft.

Gunbroker lets any who'll pay them steal money from honest people.

Pathetic

Also Google Gerbig militaria, in trouble with ATF for selling guns to felons. Just the people Gunbroker should promote.

GunBroker worst eCommerce auction website in the history of the internet!

Gunbroker is the worst eCommerce auction website in the history of the internet! To start I have been a member for 8 years and had over 300 transactions on gunbroker until I willfully terminated my account (quite the process in itself). But, It is completely a sellers world the opposite of Ebay. There's no real buyer's protection at all against dishonest scamming sellers. The reason being is they have a monopoly and abuse it.
For example sellers will put "actual shipping cost" then charge you 3-5 times what it actually costs to ship an item (happens almost every time) and if you argue it you will end up with an NPB (none paying bidder) if you get 2 or more of these in a 90 day period you account will be automatically suspended. I know becuase I have several friends that this happen to. Also, Item will often (more often than not) not be as described e.g missing parts/accessories or completely none functional (it's the reason lowlifes sell their broken c*** on gunbroker because there is no accountability for sellers and they wouldn't last 2 mins at a gunshow or a website who actually cares about it's buyers).
I have bought several hundred firearms off gunbroker in 8 years and can't even began to remember how many of them were defective and not as described. Luckfully I am an experienced gunsmith and have access to lathe's and cnc's therefore I've been able to fix most of them but if aren't be prepared to be screwed eventually. The customer support is a joke! if you do get them to actually read you're comment (assuming they can) in a support ticket and reply you're lucky. And pray to God you don't get GBsupport2006. This piece of [censored] is a the most unprofessional ahole I've ever encountered. Really all the support staff is that way. All they care about is getting their final value fees and could care less whether or not the buyer is scammed.
If you want to buy guns online I recommend Auctionarms, armslist or gunsamerica... really anything other than gunbroker. I terminated my account last month after being screwed for the last time and as usual not getting any help from gunbroker staff. I will never do business with them again. BTW I don't work for anyone this is an honest assessment based on over 300 transactions in 8 years. I hate to see people get shafted. Especially my fello gun nuts. I can't say strongly enough to avoid gunbroker at all costs. I know it is tempting when you see the low prices but it's not worth it you will get screwed eventually and will be out more cash than the amount you would have spent by going to another site or just going to your local gun store.

You are blaming your own failure to perform due diligence on items you're purchasing and sellers you're buying from on Gunbroker?
You have "friends" who have had all these "problems" occur - but you don't have any first-hand experience like this.
You're blaming Gunbroker for the seller not sending you items you think you're supposed to get?
You've bought "several hundred" guns over 8 years time - why did you stay so long if you're "always getting ripped off"? Are you stupid?

The only reason the other online auction companies aren't on your "hit list" is because they're insignificant in the market.
Plain and simple, you are either an anti-gunner shill posting your "review", or someone P.T. Barnum described as being "born every minute"!
