GWC Warranty - Powertrain plus warranty for used 2016 kia optima

I purchased a used 2016 Kia Optima from a used car dealership in mid-November 2022. I paid almost a $1000 for the extended Powertrain Plus warranty so the engine and transmission would be covered. Around late September of 2023, I took my car to my hometown Kia dealerahip. They wouldn't even look at my car because they don't deal with GWC Warranty due to the...

GWC Warranty - Car warranty

I had a misfire on cylinder 7 in my 2016 RouchSCf150 truck when I bought this truck at 90,000 miles I purchased GWC Exclusionary Coverage. On roughly Sept 18th took to dealership found the motor or long block needed replaced due to a bad piston ring that caused the motor to fail. GWC had me to tear down the motor at my cost $2600.00 so they could inspect...

GWC Warranty - Recliner couch

My recliner stopped working, in the reclined position, around the first of June 2023. I filed a claim on June 7, 2023. The service rep showed up a couple of weeks later and said I need a new motor. He ordered it right then. After a month I called to get the status and was told the part was never ordered. They ordered it then and told me to notify them when...

GWC Warranty Powertrain Plus

Bought a used Lincoln Navigator and decided (for the first time) to include a warranty, my mistake... the paper that I received did not have a list of items it did or did not cover, again my mistake for not getting a full contract. Within the first two weeks the starter would not engage properly. I assumed (we know how that goes) that anything to do with the powertrain would be covered NOT! they would cover the starter but not the flywheel that was also damaged.

This is the third time in a year that I have purchased a warranty only to find out that the warranty does not cover what you would expect them to cover. The companies have no problem taking your money, but you have to fight tooth and nail to get them to do anything. My Navigator ended up costing over $1100.00 for the damage done by the starter, they covered the starter but refused to cover the damaged flywheel which was the most expensive item.

My lesson learned: DO NOT TRUST ANY WARRANTY COMPANY...

Desired outcome: Powertrain is everything to do with the engine, transmission and rear end, the warranty should have covered it all. The sales pitch of "Feel secure and safe, We Have You Covered" is a fallacy,

GWC Warranty Warranty

Check engine light came on so I took car the repair shop. At first the repairs was approved. Adjuster went to show now nothing is covered stating it happen before I got the car. I will be getting a lawyer to addressing these issues. This company is shady. Just no worries is a whole joke. Policy number is PTP07A696164. Thermostat needs to be to replace they saying it’s no error code. Also saying I have to wait another 22 days before any repairs I do not under and why this wasn’t stated when the claim was made.

Desired outcome: I would like the repairs to be covered or my service plan cancelled.

GWC Warranty GWC warranty Coverage Denial

IN June of 2022, We bought a used vehicle with a 90 day, 4500 mile Power Train warranty. This gave us peace of mind to purchase a car from a smaller dealership as they brag on the GWC website, "Customers are protected the moment they drive off the lot. GWC is one of the automotive industry’s best in class provider of vehicle protection plans for used vehicles. GWC has helped deliver a “No Worries, Just Drive” experience to more than 11 million drivers nationwide."

NOT TRUE

We took impeccable care of the vehicle while in our ownership. (Less than 90 days) Prior to the expiration of the warranty the engine failed. This should be covered by GWC. We have great maintenance records from our short time of ownership.

The Adjuster denied the claim due to "lack of maintenance". There was not a lack of maintenance on our part, we have receipts and notes of the 2 shops we took the car to, for review and check ups. We would love to share them with someone willing to hear our appeal.

We took it for a full scope of review and work. We have photos and documentation from that day. We spent $1663.45 to change the cabin air filter, engine air filter, flush the brake fluids, service the rear brakes and rotar/drums, mount and balance 4 new tires, as well as remove and replace some of the sensors. All fluids were reviewed at this time and were in good order, per the report.

In early August, we took the car to the dealership for a full repair of the recalls pending. They replaced the catalytic converter, upgraded the manifold catalytic, changed the gasket exhaust, and did a "walk around/multi point inspection"

Our daughter only drove the vehicle for a matter of 1 week+ before the engine locked up. We are currently over $12,000 in costs for a non-working vehicle that was sold to us with a GWC warranty. The Powertrain Plus warranty was included on this used vehicle and was noted to cover the engine. GWC should honor the warranty that was included.

If GWC is willing to slap a "warranty" on a used vehicle they should assume some liability that it is a used vehicle with over 100,000 miles.

I called to check into the appeals process and after I was on hold for 26 minutes the customer representative "Jordan Walker" said he would not share a contact name or number to a supervisor and then referred me to section N of the GWC agreement for a dispute. Section N of the GWC contract states to settle this by means of arbitration.

That's it! No recourse, no appeal. If you don't agree you have to pay a lawyer.

RUN from this company or any dealership that offers this as a warranty!

Desired outcome: Coverage of a new Engine (per the GWC warranty notes) so this vehicle will run.

GWC Warranty GWC exclusionary warranty 48 months - 50,000 miles

Purchased a vehicle from a local dealership and was sold the above referenced warranty. Two weeks ago, a nose was coming from the front end of the vehicle. Vehicle taken to same dealership that sold the warranty and it turns out the problem is covered under the warranty. The dealership was supposed to call to get authorization on the repair and no one was able to get a hold of the warranty company. I called the company myself and was told my warranty had “sat in their system for 90 days and the dealership had not finalized the transaction. According to the person I spoke with, after a certain amount of time it “drops from their system.” In short, I paid for a warranty that was never honored for no fault of my own. Not only was I charged close to 3000.00 for a warranty, but I have been without a vehicle for near 2 weeks and stuck paying another 2600.00.

I asked for assistance from the dealership, the finance company and GWC, have made numerous attempts to find some resolve with all 3 entities to no avail. My next step will be to consult a Consumer Protection Attorney and file complaints with the BBB

Desired outcome: I want the warranty to be honored, my vehicle to be repaired and service be covered in full minus the agreed deductible

GWC Warranty Car repair

I purchased the car from a mom and pop dealership no longer in business. I find out last week when the motor died it has aftermarket parts. I purchased the car a few years ago and renewed the contract at no point was i informed the car had the parts. I had the car worked on sep2020. They noted the parts and never said anything but did the repairs anyway. Never telling me what the problem parts were and need to be removed. So i still had no idea they were on there. Not the motor has a bad piston they will not cover it because of parts that have been on my car from the dealership.

I am disabled. The car has always been taken care of.

Desired outcome: Would like the repairs done

I have a 2015 Chevy tracks and I have an extended power trade warranty from GWC the vehicle is in the shop and needs a sense of work due to a malfunctioning water pump and they are refusing to do the work. They have denied my claim on baseless grounds and are fighting with the service department at the dealership to cover the work and even if they will cover the work they won't cover the complete hourly rate so I will still have to pay money out of my pocket this is absolutely ridiculous and I've got a fight for Them to use my warranty that I purchased. They should cover my vehicle no questions asked especially when they're told by the mechanic what happened and it's obviously covered under the warranty guidelines. I don't know what can be done but if anybody has any tips or ideas please get in touch with me right away thank you

GWC Warranty vehicle service contract

I'm going to try to keep this short with timelines and evidence and you be the judge.

Let me start with: gwc warranty uses a service called birdeye. Which is a "reputation management" platform which allows you to redirect and mediate negative reviews, or the system will attempt to suppress it to the bottom of the list with hopes of hiding it from the consumer of they cannot get the reviewer to change it on the 2nd attempt.

Yep, thats out there a service available and out there. Which is a case of misrepresentation when used for those cases. Clearly, after you read of this experience,

2019. We have had 2 so far. Most recently, GWC Warranty. A Houston based, Vehicle Service Contract - most commonly known as an extended warranty coverage.

GWC A company I reached out to, as they were quite highly recommended by quite a few people through my network channels in the auto world, and professional.

1. There's so many other company's that were substantially cheaper, who only wanted the VIN and mileage. No Inspection required nor would I be required to pay for one in the event of. also, the coverage was nearly identical.

That's a no brainer, Why not right? Because I know the value of what I own and the condition in which I keep it. Its true. I'll even prove it. In addition to the condition, and knowing that there was no single issue with my car. I just have a tendency to have insurance and warranty on virtually anything imaginable.

I started the process late December 0f 2018. Yes, this is still "ongoing" from my side... apparently "closed" from their side. By closed I literally mean they ghost you and complete MIA. I know, I have email trackers embedded in my emails for cases specifically like this... and those emails were read, oh they were.

anyways. I began the process with a lady name Raquel. I explained to her the aftermarket performance parts I have on my vehicle. After all, There is a $100 inspection I have to pay for upfront for them to send out someone that's vetted by them... "okay great, no problem! do whatcha got to do.

The inspector comes by the house about a week later and being upfront with his regards to all the modifications, aftermarket parts. All service maintenance, etc. complete WELL in advance than the traditionally scheduled mileage intervals, even before what the vehicle would read. He is taking photos of the car, notes a few things, a lot of things. Felt it was unnecessary to include my personal items in the vehicle as part of the report (sorry but a radar/laser detector, is not anything to be reported) especially when it's not hard-wired, and used in the manner it was meant to be used in).

Next, he asked to open a hood. he stated there was a "Leak" I advised him to look closer, its residue, it was already fixed

GWC Warranty They didn't want to repair the car and use warranty

I have bought car and warranty as well from GWC Warranty Corp. the car had problems with the exhaust system and oil was leaking all the time. I called to the company and explained that this started to happen next day of the purchase. The warranty would cover the expanse and repair. But the company wasn’t happy about it and they tried to find some minor mistakes and told me that they would pay for the repair. But it was clear that they lied to me.

GWC Warranty DO NOT HONOR AGREEMENT

I purchased a 2004 F350 Ford Diesel Pick Up Truck on April 20th 2013 for my son. I paid $1525 for a three year 36, 000 mile warranty. I picked the Comprehensive Coverage which is 2nd to best coverage and supposedly covers most items.

The pick up truck started to have an oil leak in June 2013 (still does as of this email) so I contacted GWC and asked if they recommend I take it somewhere. They said Cross Road Truck and Auto was their preferred provider. I took the truck to them. They did a nice job (I think). While there they found other issues they had concerns about they believed needed to get fixed. Since this was a GWC vendor and from what I saw in the contract the work they said needed to get done was covered, I said to move ahead but they stated they wanted the assessor from GWC to come first. The assessor came and the problem is GWC did not want to pay for the majority of the work.

I agreed to move ahead to fix the items because the items they found I thought were necessary for the safety of my son driving the truck. Once the work was complete I had multiple conversations with GWC to no avail and in fact they were VERY rude. I was being reasonable with them only asking for them to cover the oil pan ($769.78) and the crank shaft seal ($244.58). There were other items I felt were also covered but I only focused on the oil pan and the crank shaft seal. They refused to pay. I told them that I was going to make a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and they said they were not concerned. They only paid $480.04 out of $2, 275.20.

I went through 6 cycles of dispute resolution through the BBB to no avail. Their contract has so many loop holes that an oil pan is not part of an engine! Ridiculous! DO NOT USE THEM!

GWC Warranty Scam

There should be no animals "sold" in stores. Cats and dogs should only be acquired from reputable hobby breeders, shelters, or rescue groups.

For decades, I (and countless others) have worked in legislative fields, trying to have pet stores made illegal.

In short, there isn't a reputable breeder, on the face of this planet, who'd put one of his/her little ones in a cage, where it could be purchased by any pointy-headed weirdo who walks in.

By definition, all animals sold in pet stores come from disreputable sources.

I go by my local P.J's Pet Centres and am sickened by the people smiling and cooing at the helpless creatures held cative there; brought into the world by uncaring louts whose only motivation is money. (Good breeders usually lose money, once all the health & genetic testing is done, plus the travel costs to pair one animal's strengths with another's weaknesses...you know...the goal of responsible breeding...to improve the breed.)

I'm dumbfounded that, in 2011, there are still people (MANY PEOPLE) who still support irresponsible breeding practices and animal cruelty, by making purchases at pet stores. There are so many awesome pet supply stores, and so many reputable shelters and rescue groups. There are truly reputable breeders, as well. ...But none of them "sell" through a pet shop.

At the very least, anyone who cares about an animal's welfare would do some kind of screening, reference checks, a home visit, before a potential adoptee/buyer is approved. Not only is this something that doesn't happen with retail sales, by law it can't. A store can't refuse to sell to a lawful customer with the means to pay. I dare say most reputable breeders, shelters, and rescues deny more applications than they approve. Not everyone, nor every home, is suitable for pet ownership...which is why ethical people always, always, always screen before allowing someone to take an animal home.

I, too, hope P.J's, and all other "businesses" selling living beings, are made illegal and shut down.

I had an issue with my vehicle and called the GWC warranty company. I was told that the item with my SUV was covered. Since there was not a listed service garage in my area I was told to pick one on my own. I choose a dealership and made an appointment.

When I made the appointment the gentleman at the desk told me to beware of aftermarket warranties because he has seen people have trouble with these companies covering anything. I assured him that I was told that they would get immediate payment over the phone and the item was covered. Wrong...after the repair the dealer called to get payment and they refused. They said the item wasn't covered! Also, I was allowed one hour of diagnostics...well since the item wasn't covered..neither was the diagnostics!

What a bunch of crooks! They had an answer for everything as to why it wasn't covered. The warranty is less than worthless..GWC is a sham!

GWC Warranty Guardian Auto Warranty, worst ever

This Warranty is the worst.
-Warranty was described as bumper to bumper Warranty and offering different plans (basic, comprehensive)
-I got the highest coverage available, Comprehensive bumper to bumper, with the option of $100 so that diagnostic charges will be waived.

I have an Audi A4
The first problem - Transmission Control module -They will not cover this -Reason, it's electronic and they will not cover anything electronic. The warranty describes that it will cover the full transmission and internals. Guess what? This Control module is built into the transmission, inside the casing.

The second problem - Air Injection system - They will not cover this because it isn't described as a covered part, German cars have different names for a similar part as a domestic car. Guess what? That part description does not exist on their brochure, therefore they will not cover.

The third problem - Window switch - This is the button that gives you the option to lock the rear windows from the driver's master window switches (in case children want to open the windows) Guess what? They will cover the window switch but not the window lock module, it's not part of their described list.

Oh, and the $100 I paid so they would waive the diagnostic charges? Forget it, if you opted not to have the car repaired at the shop (because the warranty didn't happen to cover) guess what? I paid the diagnostic charges too. AND my car is still broken.

In conclusion:
$2000 down the drain, nothing was covered, nothing was repaired.

On 5-26-16 I opened a letter from this company stating that my car warranty had expired. I must say the letter looked legit. So I called the number on the letter at 10:36 a.m. I spoke to Mike, very friendly. His conversation was very convincing so I bought a policy without checking my warranty company; but something just didn't feel right, so I check on my policy. It turns out that my warranty hadn't expired after all. At 1:10 p.m. I called back Guardian back to cancel the policy and got the run around and was spoken to very rudely. all I wanted was my money back. I only held the policy for less than 3 hours and regretted it. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. IT'S A SCAM. If my money has not been returned to my card then I will have to call the card company and report it as fraud.

The worse customer service ever, also check your warranty and read carefully regarding bold print and regarding what they cover and do not cover.

GWC Warranty Failure to cover

On 2 separate occasions, Gaurdian has failed to cover repairs for items listed in the policy. This has resulted in over $4k in out of pocket expenses for me. They do everything they can to keep from paying for a warranty coverage.
Both repairs were done at the Mercedes repair shop recommended by them & on both occasions they failed to pay for the coverage. (electronic ignition module & valve body for the transmission).
Even better, when I requested the $2k refund for the policy I paid for, the claims manager told me, they don't give refunds.

This company is fraudulent! They take your money for extended warranty coverage, then never cover anything.

Dealers & customers beware, if you see GWC as thre extended warranty company, RUN!

Would give 0 stars if I could. BEWARE do not purchase from this company.

Car broke down on Sept 2, 2022 was towed to the mechanic, GWC was contacted by mechanic. (Who has over 27 years) working on that particular brand of vehicle. GWC gave him authorization to start to look for the problem. Found a hole in one of the pistons, called GWC and they asked hom for replacement parts. They were told that no pistons could be ordered as it would need a new engine. Then GWC stated to me that my mechanic would need to tell them why the part failed...like he is a CSI forensic engineer mechanic.I contacted GWC several times amd they keep telling me that the mechanic would need to tell them the reason it failed. He could not. Then GWC told my mechanic that he should not have torn it apart without auth. Well you can see where this is headed. I told GWC to figure out a compromise or send their own adjuster to figure out what happened. They declined and also declined to cover the part that is covered because they think something happened with the fuel injectors. Well...they're covered too under my $4000.00 policy. You can't get a straight answer from them they just don't want to pay out. Well we have a contract and i'm willing to fight. I realize that they have tons of lawyers on staff, but I won't back down from whats right. I lived up to my part now they have to. If anyone wants to join my fight leave me a message here and together maybe we can get justice. I already contacted the BBB haven't heard back yet. It October 25th and I still have yet to hear from GWC on the official status. My mechanic is pretty much disgusted with them too. GWC better figure all of this out before they run outta customers and mechanics that will accept their warranties.
