These people have no idea what it like to be at the mercy of their incompetence. Hard working people who have surgery or an accident depend on the pitins we receive in Short term Disability. I am proactive in taking care of my account with them. I went to the surgeon when scheduled and made sure the medical office fax was needed to Guardian. I called Guardian twice and inquired if they had what they needed. I was told twice, YES. When I called a week later and inquired about my check, I was told they only received what they needed a few days prior to this phone call and the under educated RN Case Manager had 7 days to review the case. I was told they needed more information which I could have gotten to them in a timely matter. The representative was trying to make excuses and she couldn't answer my very simple questions. Amazingly that representative "accidentally" disconnected the call before I could take the survey, hoe convenient for her? I asked to speak to a supervisor and of course none was available. I was told it would take 24 hours to have one contact me. When I waited the 24 hours I called back I was then told it was 24 to 48 hours to be contacted.in the mean time I have bills to pay without benefits. Again, these people play with our lives with no accountability.

I have had the exact same experience with Guardian and they need to be fined and put on notice. I repeatedly told Guardian to contact the Dr's office and make a simple request for every record needed and they said I would have to send it. I told them it would be a HIPPA violation for a 3rd party to send medical records which could get lost or claimed it didn't come through. By getting the information directly from the Dr., they can't claim they didn't get it. I would suggest contacting Keller & Keller for a free consult as to what they can do to get you paid and stop the stress Guardian causes people trying to recover.
