I have had issues with your card since day 1, as now as I browse the internet, I see that others have also had the same issues with. Therefore, as soon as I am able, I will be cancelling my account and finding a more reputable establishment. I requested a replacement card on 11/26/08 and have still not received it. When I called today to say I wanted another card reissued without changing my account number, I was told that I would have to pay a fee to receive my card express. I refused to pay for the companies’ inadequacies and when the girl came back to the phone she told me that once the card was issued, my monies would be available. I told her NOT to change my number because it was a must that I would have access to my monies tomorrow. She changed it anyway. When I called again, I asked for a supervisor. I became irate because the girl, which I know is trained to do, try to fix something that she couldn’t. When the “supervisor” got on the phone, she said there was nothing that could be done. I told her that I had a disable child that I needed groceries for and layaways that I had to get out or lose my money and she still did not try to get anyone over her that could assist. Once again, I became irate and she hung up on me. I will be putting a petition on the internet for a class action suit against green dot because this is unacceptable, your organization is holding my money hostage. When I first asked for a replacement, I was on my way out of town and I still don’t have this card. So imagine if I was on a cruise or something of that nature with no family or friends and lost my card, I would just be out of luck in some foreign country! I will also being sending this to my congressman, my senator, the Honorable Mark Warner, the Social Security Administration, who deposits my nieces disability to the account and anyone else that I feel can assist in ceasing the fiasco.

That person is in no way a deadbeat.. some other people just like to hate and dont feel good unless they are saying mean things. BUT anyway.. GREENDOT - does steal money.. Mine.

SO, I have a greendot problem too.. I think your doing the right thing...
So keep complaining.. If you would, I am gathering as much information as possible about this horrible company..

Could you please let me know what happened in some more detail, and also, please, and I mean please, feel free to spam my name and email address all over the internet about this topic - because I want as much detail about this deceptive service as I can get..

first of all, green dot uses peoples holdings to gain their profits by simply holding funds that do not belong to them they gain Interest.
They placed a hold on a deposit that was made by a Hotel Franchise, and yes i too also have a reputable checking and savings and trust funds but use or at least used green dot for travel. Its been 10 days now and still wont reissue funds that belong to me anyways even after the hotel has already received their funds for my stay. i call and some inadequate person answers and has no idea what hes talking about just to relay to his supervisor who gets on the phone with the same incompetence. Yet some customers state, best decision ever made, blah blah blah. Why would you hold funds that dont belong to you, you didnt work for them, It is not yours to decide when to release MONEY THAT ISNT YOURS.

I think this person is in no way a deadbeat. You dont know a persons situation or why they have to do things. This company IS a RIPOFF. I have a checking and savings account and I would use Greendot to budget online purchases. They froze my account for some nonsense reason and didnt notify my UNTIL I deposited more moeny. They take your money and give you the runaround about giving you a refund. THIS has happend to 2 other people I know personally so I know, for a fact now, that Greendot is a scam. There should be some sord of class action suit against them. There are TOO many customers theyre doing this to.

I bought a greendot prepaid visa a month ago and have NEVER been able to get it activated.I bought the card at walgreens.I can't get it activated by phone or on the web.I called Columbus Bank in Columbus, Georgia who issues these cards and was put on hold.No one returned to the phone.Called a second time & was hung up on in the middle of explaining my problem.I then WALGREENS store where i purchased the card, in Omaha, NE and was told by the mannager i couldn't get a refund because the card card says not to.She " the mannager told me how expensive these "greendot" cards can get which let me know there had been other complaints as well. I totally agree with you. Please let me know what web site to go to, to join your class action suit.bank name is Columbus Bank & trust-[protected] Columbus, Georgia. GOOD LUCK

I am also very disappointed in the green dot card. From the very first time I tried to use it the balance wasn't what it should have been. The company has no customer service and I've found it impossible to talk with a live person. As a result, I never got to use the card and I think any balance left on it has been eaten up in monthly fees by now. Does anyone even have a contact number for these folks? I got sent into a message "loop" on a machine; ... frustrating beyond imagination.

This is what you get for being a deadbeat. What you should have done was simply open up a checking account at a bank or federal credit union and pay for your stuff using a real debit card, not a deadbeat prepaid debit card.
And of course they hanged up on you, I bet you started acting like a crazy ***** on the phone. You're mad at them, yet the only person you should be upset with is yourself. You put yourself in this situation by being a deadbeat and using a prepaid debit card. Your congressman isn't going to jack about this issue you have.
