Green Desert Rentals / Overcharging, Unfulfilled Promises
HIT web design, formerly Heritage Web Solutions, looked like a competent, economical company to build my website, but it took a very long time, was very glitchy for months, and their corporate structure and phone tree made it difficult to make changes, get my site completed, etc. because I could never talk to just one individual, but had to address each issue to the right department. Their reasonable price soon ballooned to something unreasonable as features that should have been a part of my website from the beginning were parceled out one at at at time at an exorbitant rate. Their ad says you will get something more than the "basic template" but that's all I got. It was an unimaginative web site that used a font that was too small and pictures that were too small to get across the impact of my product. I was already deep into payments with them and it was too late to turn back, but I finally had enough when they informed me that I needed to renew my hosting fees for over 300.00 for a year and that's a ridiculous price, five times what I am paying now. When I complained, their rep said the price included one on one attention and problem shooting, but I have not had problems with my other host for the last eight years. I knew then that I was being ripped off by a dishonest company. When I sent HIT's work to the next company I used to build my site, the new company informed me that HIT had NOT included any .html text in my website, as they had promised, in order to show up in a Google search. When I ended my relationship with HIT, they would not let me have my domain name, but sent me to someplace called eNOM where I would have to post it and bid on it, essentially buying it back from HIT. I elected not to do that and came up with a different domain name instead. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY who are skillful at bait and switch and whose product is bland and white bread.
