Green Brook Vision Center Bad product

I purchased a pair glasses for my 10 year old son in May 2008. From: Green Brook Vision Center, Green Brook NJ.The frames were from Capri Optics - (Flexure FX23 46-18 color: Ink).

In July 2008, the frames and one lens had to be replaced, when the frames broke and the lens fell out. One lens became scratched and therefore needed to be replaced. Green Brook Vision Center did replace both at no charge. In December 2008 - the frames broke AGAIN! This time the lenses fell out because the left ear piece broke, causing the lenses to fall out again. I returned to Greenbrook Vision Center and they refused to replace them again. I was told that Capri Optics (the manufacturer of the frames) and VSP (the insurance company) would not replace them again. I was surprised and disappointed with Green Brook Vision Center. They only stand behind the quality of the products they sell, as long as it doesn't cost them any out of pocket costs. They just replaced these same glasses five months prior and because the insurance and manufacturer were going to replace them at no cost to Green Brook Vision Center, they were willing to stand behind the glasses. Since these frames were replaced in July - I thought that this pair should have the same one year warranty I was promised when I purchased them in May. The one year date from when I purchased them should expire in May 2009. I paid for them on 5-29-08, I received them two weeks later, that would bring it to June 2008. I have been a loyal customer of GVC for four years. I refuse to spend any more money on these poorly made glasses. I feel that Green Brook Vision Center has not completed our contract. I purchased these glasses in good faith and with a one year guaranty. I did not receive the one year guaranty and I want either company (Capri Optics or Green Brook Vision Center) to replace the second pair of glasses at no charge. My son did not abuse his glasses, he uses them every day. Where is the loyalty that I have shown them for four years and why don't they stand behind the quality of the products they sell?

Oh, another point, green brook vision is not the one who makes the "poorly made" glasses as u said, they simply get them back from insurance company who makes it all, that's what takes 2 weeks, so if they are a place to go so an optical person can fit them to your face & if u go to any other provider, the same VSP lab makes the poorly made glasses, It's all from same place..I saw this post, and called my VSP insurance & that's where all the info came from, so no particular optical place can be held liable outside the warranty because insurance companies have rules, and he did what VSP would make him do...

If a person goes to radio shack, best buy etc, the warranty is a one time replacement from the date of purchase, not when product is ready for pickup, also if its replaced, the warranty doesn't start again from replacement date, otherwise a person could keep replacing it every year & that's a lifetime warranty I have known them there since 2002, Howie is a skilled master & there's nothing he doesn't at LEAST try, my husband has VSP, they have lots of rules the optical shops have to abide by, so u can't blame green brook vision. They've been in practice for 30 years, Howie has known the owners Drs since he was 17, Howie is 51 now, talk about loyalty, honor, VSP frames are not actually hot stuff, I have gone to a few VSP providers over the years & at Least he abides by VSP rules that u must have at least 500 frames that are covered by VSP so a patient has half decent stuff to pick from, its an Insurance job, if u want top quality its better to pay out of pocket for top frames he DOES have that, when I have form for exams, I've heard him talk to patients & try to help in anyway possible. I'm sure ur child didn't purposely break his frames again, but flexible frames r not indestructible, because they flex a lot of pressure is applied to the "joints" of frames so they are able to take a hit, my husband needs flex frames under hard hat for work, his last him since 2007, so maybe it was defective OR maybe ur child accidentally fell asleep on them & didn't wanna get u mad, so he didn't tell u whole truth...they have been wonderful for me & my family & my husbands coworkers who also have VSP
