Great Clips rude employee

I recently went into Great Clips hair salon (or should I say BAD Clips). The employee was very rude, aggresive in tone, and quick to cut hair. She (Elizabeth) paid no attention to actually cutting hair, but rather talking with her co-workers, who were complaining of their jobs.

It was very unprofessional and will now be finding a new hair salon.

Great Clips - rude manager

I took my grandmother in today, on june the 5th. I understand they are busy cause school is out and they have coupons for cheap haircuts. so I walked in today and the manager (sasha) rudley said to my grandmother that so and so needs to eat lunch to. all she had to say is do you mind having someone else helping you he needs to go to lunch. my grandmother...

Great Clips not a place for teens

This place is not for Teen age. I had a "Skateboarder" Haircut (I don't know the proper name). I told them to cut about half an inch off but it turns out they cut about 2 inches!. which is too short now and i not satistfied with my hair cut AT ALL! I'll Never come back ever again.

Great Clips personal info from clients and late nite customers

We hate asking for phone numbers and the dreaded questions of, " "have you been to this location berfore? They get UBER pissed if you ask them. I wish they would ###in write their own stupid info down. Just like the ###in liscense branch.We don't always have a recepionist, so it takes away from our hair cut time. Productivity gets all ###ered up because we are at the stupid front desk checking them in. They need to realize we are are NOT going to stalk them or send them junk mail. Or, Who"s getting a hair cut today? They say, " We are .". Really... Its 8:52 p.m., a blizzard outside, and you wanna come in here and be pissed cuz I have to ask for your phone number? Shut up and sit down so I can whip out your hair cut and get home to my life. We need a receptionist so bad but our owner cant afford it. He is too busy jetting off to florida in his privarte plane.

You are all a bunch of crazy [censored]es... I can tell you what, if one of you overweight ### stand there with that stupid depressed look or fake smile and ask me "Whos getting a hair cut"... Me or anyone else is going to say " I am, he is or she is or we are. Why? because that's the question you asked, If you wanted to know the name of the person getting a haircut, perhaps you should ask the person or people : Hi there, so who is getting a haircut today and could I get your name(s) please. That would answer two questions in one pretty easily, without having to get all frustrated by getting the wrong answer you were already expecting.. Jeezuz... Why be so f*ckn negative. Its hair cutting for god's sake. And besides, 8 out of 10 people who work at Great Clips do a [censored] job not even worth the low price you charge. Face it ladies, you're all just glorified McDonalds Employees. Lesson learned here I hope, shut your cholesterol filled pie hole, get back behind that reception booth, take my "we are" name and enter it into the computer and get cutting the f*ckn hair. I was thinking about getting some from this place and decided it seemed shady, so i looked up some reviews and lone-behold, Every review Iv'e found suggests this place is a scam. My credit card company has phones me before from a place like this, a horrible fireghtful situation I'm sure to avaoid again.

My daughter was working for Great Clips in Canada and just got fired because she was sitting in her car before her shift instead of going inside to count money and set up..They wanted her to set up on her own time...NOT..When she was closing, the till was out by $150 because the computer reset itself so Catherine, , The owner at the Waterdown Ontario location, called my daughter(who has never stolen anything in her life) untrustworthy...SLANDER, , I am very glad that my daughter is no longer working for this dishonest, mismanaged company and even though my daughter doesn`t want to work for them, , we are going to take them to court for wrongful dismissal...This woman REALLY needs to watch what she says because it will come back to bite her in the ###!

safety is important if there is a blizzard outside close the shop and get documented...also make sure if there is no receptionists that there are 2 stylists working this is a corporate policy...if you are ever left alone close the shop and complain to corporate.

haha Great Clips is a ### run company. Don't advise anyone to ever work there. Constant warnings, write-ups... It's SO negative! The managers of this company must really be stupid to push so much negativity on employees. Really, really dumb strategies...

i completely agree with you! I hate asking who's getting the hair cut today and get "we are" "she is" "he is"..what the ### is your name! i'm just gonna type "we are" into the ###ing computer. I hate the customers who roll up in their BMW's and Mercedes then get pissed off at me when their coupon is expired for their already $12!

Great Clips bad hair cut

I had requested my hair; vairied in length up to 12 inches; be cut to 4inches all over. Judy cut it down to 2 inches in back. When I got home I found out a coupon was out that day for $9 off. I had told her I had been unemployed for 9 months now and was hoping a haircut would help energize my job hunt. Judy did not mention there was a coupon available.
I emailed a complaint to corporate and recieved a phone call supposedly from them stating that Judy would have been fired if she had mentioned the coupon (I had thought coupons were supposed to drum up business, what else are they for!) and other bs. In other words I am stuck with a way too short hair cut and will never visit a Great Clips again.

Great Clips price

Client received a haircut on 3/9/09 and stated that she had a coupon for approximately $5.00 discount but did not have the coupon at the time of the visit. Client returned to the salon 2 days later with receipt and 2 unexpired coupons and the manager would not honor/credit money back to the client. Client is very regular (monthly visits to salon) and lack of customer service was very distasteful.

My elderly mother went in for a haircut. They did a shampoo, a cut and a 2 minute blowdry so she didn't go out into the freezing cold with a wet head. They charged $3 for shampoo (fine) tried to charge $14 for the haircut until I asked why she wasn't getting senior price of $12 (fine) and then they had the nerve to charge her $20 for a 2 minute blowdry that incuded no products, no hairspray, no curling or styling. It was ridiculous and made no sense. I had previously taken my kids for a haircut and they didn't charge me for their blowdry! They were trying to rip off an elderly woman. Since they have a "guarantee", I said, there is no "styling" associated with the $20 so I want the money back. They would not give it to her! I am definitely filing a complaint with the better business bureau.

I live in Algonquin, IL & go to the one off E. Algonquin Road and it's a crap shoot going there. They spray water on your face all the time. Please, spray my hair not my face. Did you graduate or are you still in school that you can't aim the water sprayer properly! Not very well trained or monitored. Not good customer service skills.
I guess you get what you pay for!

Dear Client, Im very sorry that happened and you feel cheated. I am a Great Clips Manager and once a coupon is set in our systems from our corporate office, it comes in once the coupons are sent out and also on the day it expires at 12 am it is swiped out of our system. Your home town salon manager was being honest, there is nothing she/he could of done. Very sorry, please try them again.

The coupon should be present as same day when the client received the service. Since he/she visit the salon regular then he/she can use the coupon for next visit. It is not right for a client come back 2 days later or one weeks later to try get a discount.

One mistake for the manager is that should tell the client at the same day while the client mention about the coupon, the coupon only valid at time of service. Even thou the coupon have not expired date. Or the manager could tell the client that he/she can go back get the coupon right there right then.

Since this so called "Regular client" return every month to get the service why can't he/she wait till next time and use the coupon.

Common sense: you going to a restaurant and forgot bring a coupon, you mention to a waitress that you forgot coupon at home, can I still get a discount? What are they going to tell you? Of course they can't do that. The coupon have to be present at time of service. Can you go back 2 days later and ask the manager give you discount for the food you have ate two days ago? That is ridiculous.

Many ppl use the "Regular customer" basis as their "privilege" to get what they want. I don't think that is fair for any type of business.

My usband went to get his hair cut and when he finished he came home and the one side of his hair was cut higher than the other. It looked awful

I worked for the GC in Dundalk. Busiest GC I've EVER worked for...not a shocker that your hubby received a bad haircut..with 2-6 columns of people on the computer screen at all 12 business hours each day, the girls are tired! AND there's a lot of cheap customers that go there. It is Dundalk, hon.

I was told when I worked at Great clips in Wellington Fl. buy a co-worker to just chop their hair and get them out of here as fast as you can. She told me that my hair cuts are fine. I can not just chop someone's hair off in 8 to 10 mins. Great clips actually pays us for the more hair cuts that we can give in an hour. We actually get paid extra to work faster. I was told just dont screw them up by cutting it to short and you will be fine. Swear on my love for my children that I was told that.

I really do try to do my best. And usually it's pretty good (if I do say so myself)! Unfortunately, I have had to do do-overs since we are to move you all in and out like cattle. If your hubby has cowlicks, he's screwed. Seriously, make friends with a stylist- we work off the GC clock and will do a better job for you in the convenience of your own home...

yep well that's what happens with the stylists are pressured to do cuts in 13-18 minutes. What do you think you're going to get in such a rush job and cheap cut? Great Clips pressures it's employees so they do ### work. It's not the employee here at fault. It's honestly the company policy itself! It's a horrible company to work for as an artist and customers should know the stylits are under extreme pressure to be fast or face warnings and job threats.

Great Clips poor service

My autistic son and I went to Great Clips so he could get a hair cut. He is six years old, and slower to get onto the chair for a hair cut. When he was taking a long time to get on the chair, the MANAGER of the salon who was going to cut his hair said, "Oh hurry up, get up there already!" When I said that his motor skills were slower, she said, well, I just don't want him to fall...then she picked him up under the arms and plopped him down on the chair. Then when she was using clippers, he was motioning that it hurt. Then she said "OH stop complaining, I can tell if it hurts, stop it." When I went up to them, she said to me, "Really it's not hurting him." She was done with the clippers, so I didn't cause a scene and leave right there.

I have noticed this manager being rude to other customers when I have been in there before...I WILL NOT GO AGAIN. WIth the job market so scarce in Michigan, I am surprised someone like that could keep her job.

Great Clips awful company

I currently work at a Great Clips and I wished that I didn't. I have worked at many salons but I have never been in a salon that works so hard at stifling creativity. They start their stylists off at $7.50 an hour, Have a Dress code so strict that you'd have to have either a large closet to pull these exact outfits out of or a lot of money to afford the attire just to make less then the outfits themselves are worth.

They work their stylists to death with very little breaks and huge amounts of patrons... that by the way must think they are getting a lot more an hour because they either tip very little($1) or stiff you all together. They pressure stylist to get each haircut done in a small amount of time. Their training is absolutely ridiculous. They have 'Blackout' days when you cannot call off work, normally set around times the average person goes away on vacation, spends time with family for holidays, or have a special occasion.

They are what people talk about when they say Greedy Corporate America. They make so much money off of their stylists and put up so little themselves that I would suggest booth rental or commission work to anyone thinking of working there. Think of it this way If a stylist has to cut 4 heads in a hour each paying $12 a cut you get a total of $48 an hour.

Now multiply that amount by... oh we'll aim low and say 4 stylist are on the floor that day. You now have $192. Lets just say they work an 8 hour day Thats $1536 they've made that day. Lets take out the stylists pay... thats $240 for all 4 of them, Then you have the total amount of money they made off of owning a building and the name of Great Clips... which is $1296, The Schooling and the tools the stylist paid for are as expensive as most tools used in nursing. These people provide none of these.

After the building utilities are paid its pure profit off of someone else's skills for these greedy MFers. Just think of this before you walk into the next Great Clips to feed these money hungry monsters.

Even sports cuts pays $10/ hour. All stylist refuse to work. We need to strike. Once they loose money they'll pay us.

I am recently a x Great Clips employee and every thing that has been said negative about this company is TRUE! I had to work alone because we were short handed and we did not have a bathroom in our store so I would often not be able to go to the bathroom for 4 hours ! I am calling the labor dept. I have worked for Great Clips for ten years in two different states the franchisee 's need to be reined in on how they treat their employees we are the ones that make them the money I wish every one would quit in every state ! This was the last great clips I will ever work at its sucks to start over but that is exactly what I will do

I work for Great Clips currently and have to say it is the best job I've ever had. I make 8.50 and hour but I get productivity bonuses, product commission, PTO, double time for holidays that I'm not even working on. I make more than enough to live.
Yes I make a lot of money for the company but the company brings me a steady flow of customers. I always have guaranteed money, i never have to worry about if I'm going to make enough for booth rent or if ill profit at all with expenses for products used, tools, etc.
They work a lot with my schedule, always give breaks, always at least 2 days off a week, good hours, and really extensive training. I would not be as good at cuts as I am today if it wasn't for great clips.
My franchise owner has like 5 or 6 locations and will hand deliver anything that needs to get to me and shows that he cares about his employees. My manager is the best. very encouraging and we all work as a team to keep the salon running. I dont want to work anywhere else.

Great Clips sucks! They dont properly screen their franchisees and dont even require them to know a thing about hair before buying into one. They only care about money. The franchisees I encountered are the most incompetent and [censor] backwards s***cs I have ever seen. They are very evil and racist even going as far as saying they didnt want " a lot of black people working for them." Great Clips needs to have a liaison to report these unworthy, lack of business sense [censor] franchisees!

Great Clips at 1838 warrensville center rd, south Euclid, OH, 44121 ( across from Walmart, next to Penn station Subs)
My son got a hair cut there today and manager Robin, ruined my son's hair and cut top too short, she left right side long and top short and a line on side without fade. She had a nasty attitude and denied my son was explicit about not touching top of head.I hope she gets fired, she should not even have a license.

There is no license manager for more than 3 years.The stylist that is acting manager just graduation school less than a year ago. She doesnt even have enough hours to qualify for a state license or test. The owner still can have an operating salon no matter what the laws are WOW !

This is the first time in my life I'm complaining about my haircut, I had this cut at the grat clips in Thornton, CO by Terri. This rude ### cut my hair in 2 minutes-not kidding! Now it all looks like patched! Now I have to go to another place to ix it.

Great Clips not using fresh aprons and towels

They are not using fresh towels and not cleaning hair on the floor after each hair cut they are not even using clean combs and cutting apron, they are using only one apron for everybody and they even do not know how to cut the hair they simply cut the hair as they like

maybe you are not specific when you ask for a hair cut ...they can't read minds. bring in a picture. how do you know if they are not using clean combs, that's a bold accusation? they are not supposed to use towels they are to be using sanek strips. it is impossible to use a new apron on every customer...it is a chop shop they deal with a hundred people or more daily. Next time ask for a new cape, a clean comb, sweep their hair, and tell the to use hand sanitizer that's a big one. Ask them when the last time they washed their hands were...or don't go there at all cuz that's what your going to get.

Just a little FYI, State Board does not require a freash, clean cape for each client (this is for Missouri). As long as you put a fresh towel or sanex strip around the neck you can use the same cape over and over. Sweeping up the hair after every haircut is a must and so is using a clean comb. If you are having a problem call State Board. They will send out someone to check it out. They also are required to check out each and every salon every year.

Great Clips hair loss

on September 25 2008 I went to the above salon for a perm, I had had a perm 2 months previous to this which was a disaster, only half of my hair was permed, I looked like I had a mohawk. We went on vacation and when we returned
I went back for them to correct this mess. I made an appointment for a cut and perm. The gentleman who I requested said ok. He looked at my hair and said it was dry in which I already knew. He put a conditioner on my hair and proceeded with the perm. He checked it once and said it was not done yet, He came back a few minutes later and looked and immediatly took the cap off and what I thought was a few rollers in the back of my head and immediatly rinsed them off then he applied the nutrlizer. when he as done I looked at the back of my head and there was a bald spot the size of a golf ball or the size of about 3 rollers. I asked him what that was he told me it was there already and caused by stress. This is not true I did not have a bald spot on my heard when I went in there. All he had to say was I didn't do it.
I have talked to 3 beauticians since this happened and they all said the same thing it was over processed. He (Ben) would not cut my hair after the perm he said it was to short.
It was to short alright because if he had cut it I could not hide the bald spot.
I do not know what else to say. It was and still is a horrible experience I'm 73 years old and have had perms for at least 40 years and never ever had this happen.

Do you have hair growing in the bald spot now?
If you do, it still isn't the perm, but the stylist doing it. He may have had the rods too tight with the band cutting the hair.
If you still don't have hair growing in, it has nothing to do with the perm or the stylist. If it is a round shape instead of a rectangle, it probably is internal.
Don't go to Great Clips for a perm anyway. The stylist is stuck on the chemical service that can take up to 2 hours, meanwhile the others are making four times as much in tips.
I know that sounds horrible, but that is how the stylist make their living.

I received very bad service from Great Clips, Warsaw, IN; I would never ever want to go back there again...they welcome everyone with smile and say welcome to great clips...but they dont treat us in the same way...Yes I am not an American..I am an Asian...they do not have common decency and respect for customers...especially there is one big fat lady with short hair...I hate u...

Great Clips scam and lies

Great Clips refused to do my daughters hair because I didn't have an appointment. There were 3 employees in the store with my daughter and myself as the only customers. I was told by the stylist that "if I do your daughters hair then I wont get paid by any other customer if they come in". I said, "so you are refusing to do my daughters hair because someone else 'Might' come in?"

She said that I would have to leave and make an appointment.

Do not they brag about the "walk in and sit right down" deal? What a big lie!

You are not required to make an appointment for a haircut. Not only that the Great Clips that I work at only accept appointmnents over the internet and in store for hairstyles because we are a busy fast paced salon.

great clips does take appointments for styles. If your daughter wanted a hairstyle yeah she needs to make an appointment, if she just wanted a haircut then it's walk ins only

Great Clips sexual harrassment

I took my son into a Great Clips hair salon in Atlanta, Ga. I ask for the good barber. This one time, my husband took my son for his school cut, to the good Barber. He was also the Assistant Manager. He not only smelled like alcohol. I felt like he was drulling over my son. I felt so uncomfortable. I was so appalled! I want to put his name out there. His name is Dennis Cortez.

Great Clips yelled at us

I've been going to Great Clips for 3 yrs and always ask for the only good barber. This one time, my wife took my son for his school cut but the good barber wasn't in so the asst manger cut my sons hair. It was horrible. Like a cereal bowl cut. I took him back the next day and nicely explained to her that my son wasn't happy and could he get it cut the way he wanted. To make a long story short, the asst manager and the manager began to call my son a liar and yell at my wife and said they'd have to pay again.

Barber name is Norma .

1) she did not show my past hair cut notes .

2) I said to cut back and sides as #2 and top is #1.5 and front is #2 inches . Instead she cut back and sides as #1 and top is #2 .

3) she was so rudely speaking as if I told her to cut my hair at free of cost  .

Hi. I have been coming to great clips for years. Both employees today were quite rude. Not friendly at all, talking to adults like kids. it was horrible. i wont be back. It was on Monday morning January 22nd 2024. I worked in customer service. They can do better than this. Wisconsin Dells, WI, thank you very much, take care.

Went in for a simple cut and left with no hair, told the stylist "DO NOT CUT THE TOP OR THE BANGS"! which she did. Now the top is so short I cannot even use a curling iron. Paid $19.00 + $5.00 tip.

Stylist did not even listen to what I wanted. Won't be going back in less it is to get my money back.

The lady didn’t even wet my hair for haircut n cut it according to her choice. One side was big the other side was short and when I said it she blindly said no it’s correct. She said I was not born with good hair. Very very bad service. And who should the tip be minimum of 5 I can’t afford it that’s y I choose coupon.

Long wait times, wrong hours, 5 walkins turned away in the 1.5 hours that I waited then badmouthing disgruntled customers- poor time management. I had come the day before as a walkin and it was also a long wait. Coming here is a chore. I would rather drive to Pflugerville. Floor was a mess of hair, waiting area in front hot during the long wait.

Jan 14,2023, Sat down on the chair, told her what I wanted, she wet my hair down, what I didn’t like was she held the bottle back so far that it felt like a shower, I told her I had a shower this morning, from then on she developed an attitude, not a good experience.

I askd for a styling when stylist asked me for instructions. Upon paying she charged for haircut plus styling. This is not a valid honest policy but a misunderstanding of pricing by operators who do not understand price policies. I was charged 42 dollars for a haircut with dryer?

I paid $70.00 for a Great Clips special and they handed me a receipt. I left the shop with the receipt in my pocket thinking that was all I needed. When I went back and showed them the receipt, they said it was useless. So, basically, I got "Clipped" at Great Clips. I left a number with the manager and so far no call and no coupons,
