I was looking into wanting to get a grant so that I could pay off a very large medical bill and credit card bill. I saw the Grant Research Guide web site and called their number. I spoke with Raquel. She assured me that when applying for these grants that the only thing I would have to pay would be just the shipping and handling charge of $2.95. I gave them my credit card info. This was on the first of Oct. I have yet to receive the materials. Today, I checked my bank records online. There is a charge of $49.50 on my statement from Grant Research Guide. I immediately called the number shown on the description on that amount. I spoke with Ray. He said that membership in the Grant Resource Center will be canceled. He also suggested that I would email Grant Research Guide. The following email was sent:

‘When I spoke to Raquel in customer service, I was led to believe that by paying for the shipping and handling of $2.95, I would get materials to apply for grants. I was told that to apply for the grants, it would be free and I would not have to pay it back. I was not told that in seven days after I have spoke to Raquel, I would be charged $49.50 for it. I have not received the materials yet! Please cancel my order and reimburse $52.45 back into my credit card. I am NOT interested in receiving grants materials from your company. If I ever get the materials, I will send it back!.’

Please be aware that Grant Research Guide is a scam. They get your money first, then maybe or maybe not they will send you the materials. I hope I get my money back. It has caused my bank account to accrue NSF charges.

Please help me on this situation. Is there anything else I could do?

I ordered a "free CD" for a charge of $2.95 shipping and handling. I have never received the CD and one week later there was an additional charge on my credit card for about $50.00. I have no idea what this is for and I have been unable to contact the company. The phone number I did find is not in service.

I bought a CD for Grant Resources for a minimal charge of $1.95. Then I find my bank has a fraudulent charge of $54.65 by Grant Research Guide - WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!

I ordered the " FREE" CD to help find grants and instructions on how to find them. I paid the shipping and handling of $2.99 as asked. But there was an additonal charge of $.09. I then received a phone call from "Best Grant For you" telling me I have 21 days to cancel, I asked when my start date began and they told me 1/30/09, so I would need to call before 2/19/09 to avoid any additional charges. I check my checking account yesterday 2/2/09 and there is a charge of $58.61 for a "Your USA Grant" company with a phone number of [protected]. Of which I called to only leave a message because the company was currently closed at 1045am, with no return call. I called again later in the evening to only speak to a very condisending man who told me the time frame was 7 days from the day I ordered the CD. Of which I still haven't received. He told me this is a non-refundable charge. No where did I see this information on the website of this fee. If I did I surely would NOT have ordered the "FREE CD". My account is now overdrawn and will incur bank fees for some stupid CD that I don't even have!

I was online for Go. grants, information on how and what grants to aply for, and this one was one of the ones that were available. It said you could send 6.98 for a CD or 1.97 and go direct to the website. I of course took the less expensive way out for 1.97 thru automatic debit and went on thru it, and when I got a confirmation email for my order, it asked if I wanted to continue my membership and I told them 'NO', and I got a confirmation for my cancellation. A couple of weeks later, I received a statement from my bank saying my account was overdrawn, and unfortunately they had already paid out. So now I owe my bank for 98.13! I haven't been able to find a phone number but did keep the email that confirmed it was canceled and have replied to it stating what has happened and that I want my money back! I called the number that someone had listed in one of the other complaints in regards to the same scam, [protected] and told them the charges were not authorized and I wanted my money back or they could deal with my banks lawyers, because there were other complaints for the same type of dealings on [redacted]s...they told me it would be refunded in my account in 3 to 5 days! We will see what happens!

Grant Research Guide Unfair Practices

On August 4, 2008, I was contacted by phone call a Grant Research Guide Representative stating that I would be eligible for a grant. That it's free money from the government and I would not have to repay the loan. Inorder, for me to received this grant I would only to pay shipping and handling fee and should have my order shipped to my resident with in approximatey 7 to 10 days. If I choose to used the website www.grantresearchguideqidd.com or I may called [protected] to canceled the order. I had asked the representative will my credit be charged a fee more than $2.95, shipping fee. He had advised me no only shipping fee. I had given my card information and received a confirmation #[protected], to make sure no other charges would be added to my card. The amount that was withdrawn from bank account was $2.95 Currently, I have not received any products from Grant Research. I tried calling to canceled order before any addtitional fees be charged to my card. I was unable to speak with a live person. The automatic machine comes on instantly to direct calls to the person whom you wish to speak to, however I get the recording saying our office hours are 9:00 a.m. til 9:00 p.m. but the line is constantly busy one is not able to speak to anyone. Please forward this message so that customers will know that there is no fee money and this a scam. Thanks in advance.

I called for information on June 30, 2008 and received the information to immediate online access, all I had to do was pay $1.95. I was able to get into the info immediately, but unable to find what I needed even though I went on there 2 individual times. I looked in my checking account and found I was being charged $49.50 on 7/6/08 for the Grant company again. I tried to call on Monday, 7/7/08 which would have been 7 days, was put on hold for 40 minutes and at one time, someone came on the line saying "this is a test" and I was still left on hold. I called back again, got the same on hold situation and eventually gave up. Today, 7/8/2008, I finally get a live person telling me I should have canceled by 7 days when I feel that my telephone number was checked on Monday and not answered so the $49.50 could be charged. Plus I printed out the order for the instant access and NOT ONCE is there a notice saying to cancel and I don't ever remember seeing one. This is a scam!

I was ripped off too! They did the same thing to me. When I called them they gave me the run around also. I cancelled my account with them. And this had better be it. The gal I spoke with gave me her name and told me to contact them. That there would be a link, and to give my email address, then my zip. I was also given a cancel #. I have been trying to find this "link", and I don't think there is one. This is a terrible thing to do to people who live in this country, trying to find help for themselves in this economy we live in. I have a lawyer too, and I will get him involved. If this fake company does'nt think I will, they have another thing coming. He will do it for me, just for the sake of " false promises and false advertising". Be aware you will be stopped! And you better not charge me again! If you do not refund me my $49.50, you will be in contempt of fraud. Alice Cullen, "if that is really your name" you should be ashamed of your self for working for such a dishonest place.
If I do not see a refund soon, you will be sorry.

I too was ripped off by this company. They charged me $2.95 and then turned around and charged me $58.61. Haven't heard from anyone! Called and talked to someone who said that my account would be cancelled. WHAT ACCOUNT! I just ordered a download for $2.95. What a scam. GRANT RESEARCH GUIDE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEM SELVES AND ANYONE WORKING WITH THEM. What a dishonest company. I guess thats the way some people want to be remembered in the buisness world.

They got me for $58.61. I contacted the Attorney General's Office and Class Action Lawsuit Attorney's but haven't gotten responses yet. This is the email for the Attorney : info@schneiderwallace.com. If we group together maybe we can get a class action suit against these scammers. Also, email the Attorney General and the media in Las Vegas like I did. Spread the word to everyone you can. This is the response I got after asking for my money back.

Also, here's the letter I wrote the Attorney General.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing you today in regards to fraudulent and scamming maneuvers by a couple of so called Government Grant companies that charge your credit card without providing a service. It has happened twice to me and I changed my banking information before they did it anymore. I know these same people own multiple companies and they are all based out of Las Vegas, NV. I will provide address in a little while.

The first time I had it happen was after I did a survey and I saw a website about Government grants to help pay off debt. For $2.95 I could get a DVD starter kit by mail and get started enrolling in government grants. I signed up and never got the discs in the mail, but yet I noticed by bank account was charged almost $40.00 from a place in Vegas called Raven-Media. After talking to a C.S. Representative a couple of different times and emailing the owner with threats of turning them in for fraud I got my money back. Go to this link and see if there is enough information to get a class action suit going against these companies. This is the link for Raven-Media: /URL removed/?q5=Raven+media&q1=ALL&q4=&q6=&q3=&q2=&q7=&searchtype=0&submit2=Search%21 After going back and forth a couple of times this owner finally gave into me and gave me my money back. So I thought it was all over. Wrong! This guy might very well own this other company that has done the same thing to me again. I called Customer Service last night 11/10/[protected]) C.S. representative told me last night on the phone that I originally signed up on Grant Resource Guide.com, then she changed it one more time to Grant Research Guide and finally to Grant Everyday.com and I asked if she was sure about that after getting 3 answers. I told her that I never received anything in the mail from them, no CD or DVD starter kit. She said that when you sign up you don't get any kind of starter kit, that we are a strictly internet business. I went to that website and it clearly states that you do get a CD starter kit which I did not get. She also mentioned Grant Research Guide.com and said the same thing about that site, no cd starter kit and it clearly states you get a CD starter kit. If I signed up on either of these sites I should of gotten the introduction packages which I clearly did not get and the company that took the money out of my bank account should have been the same as the site which I signed up on, which it is not. It is a totally different company all together. The name of this company that scammed $58.61 out of my bank account is "Get My G". These guys are totally up to something financially illegal or they wouldn't have to use so many different names for business use. I have called their customer service line multiple times only to get an email address to get a hold of the owners to get my money back. I write them email after email getting no response. The email address is support@grantresearchguide..com and the customer service people say the owners don’t deal by phone only by internet email. I did a search for these website and here’s a link providing multiple fraud cases.

/URL removed/?q5=Grant+research+guide&q1=ALL&q4=&q6=&q3=&q2=&q7=&searchtype=0&submit2=Search%21

/URL removed/?q5=grant+resource+guide&q1=ALL&q4=&q6=&q3=&q2=&q7=&searchtype=0&submit2=Search%21

This is just a fraction of the information I found about these websites after the fact.

They are definitely scamming people out of their money. My whole intention was to get a little bit of information about these grants that are out there and instead I get scammed out of $60.00. Now, can any of you help out with getting my money back and getting rid of these scammers.

I ordered the CD in September for $2.95. I received the CD in early October. I received a charged on my credit card Nov. 4. I called the company and was told that I could not be refunded because I authorized a monthly payment. There was not monthly payment listed on the web-site at the time of my purchase. There is no manager to talk with and the only way to get in touch with a manager is by e-mail. When I was given the web-site address there is no place to contact the manager unless you sign up again. How do I get a refund?

Grant Research Guide Resource scam

June 18 (Wed.) I was trying to help my son find possible government grants. I read a couple of recommendations on this website (www.grantresearchguide.com) and thinking I was reading from a trusted source paid the $1.95 internet access fee and a FREE CD of information. Monday I'm doing my home banking and find a $49.50 charge from this same company taken from my checking account. Thinking I was getting a FREE CD with info I tried contacting the company to see why I was charged - to no avail. On my printed receipt for the $1.95 it has nothing about any other charges or canceling within a certain amount of time. I checked with the credit union and was given a form to fill out and also told to contact the police dept. and fill out a report since the amount taken was over $20.

On 9/14/08 I applied for what I was told was a "free" CD with a charge to my credit card of $2.99 (for shipping and handling). I have never received the CD. When I received my credit card bill this month, there was a charge for $59.20 to Business Source. When I called the company phone number listed [protected]), I was told by Shayla to contact Janet Johnson at support@grantresearchguide.com to have this charge taken off. Shayla told me she would cancel the account (cancellation number #73885). Shayla also told me that there was an added fee for the month of October as well (in the amount of $59.20). Since I feel I was scammed by this company, please reimburse my credit card account $118.40. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Today 9-20-08. Grant Research phoned to let me know
I could get a grant from the government for free. Stated I
could use this for whatever reason I needed it for. stated would
only have to pay for the S&H of the kit which would be only
$2.95. It was not until I gave her my visa card # for S&H
then she informed me I would be billed monthly for the
service that would be placed on my email/computer. I told
her many times to cancel the kit and she was to rude she was
talking over me and not listening at all. She continued to
talk loudly over me with a confirmation # [protected] and
hung up. Jessica Lopez called back and said she was the manager
and I told her to cancel the kit and she said it was too late that
I would have to go on the site and cancel it myself. However
I do not see anything on the site to cancel Please advise

At least most of you had the right amount taken from your account.. They say that there will be a charge of $58.61 if you don't cancel within 7 days... Well they took $68.13 and overdrew my account.. Then they took $13.42 out for some membership that I signed up for and I DID NOT! They were supposed to send a confirmation with all the info after you submitted for the CD, never got one! And the Terms & Conditions wouldn't pop up for me to read, and when one of the Customer Service Reps sent me a link to view the Terms & Conditions, it wouldn't come up! NOT FOUND... If you come to this site and see this, email me your name and State you live in, and if we can get enough people together we can do a class action suit.. At least get our money back...

I to fell for this before I found your warnings here. I never received the CD they supposedly send you and I was never able to open their website and i was charged $49.95 after only six days. I called the number they gave me to no avail, dozens of times in a row trying to cancel. When I finally found this site, I called the number provided above by Lynn(thank you) and Finally got through. I put up a big enough fight that I will supposedly receive a partial refund of $25 in 7-10 business days...we'll see if that happens. At least I have learned my lesson and have been assured they will not charge me $50 a month from now on. Isn't there a way to put them out of business?!

Grant Research Guide Internet scam

I thought I was signing up for a "FREE CD" that would provide information on researching and applying for small business grants. After submitting my information on the website to get my "FREE CD Today-" I was sent to a second page that asked if I wanted "instant access" (to the CD) for $1.95 (I'm thinking this is a downloading fee) or to "ship the CD" for $2.95, I chose instant access, never got the CD information and was charged a $49.50 monthly charge for "access to the website"! I called and canceled only to discover that they WILL NOT give me a refund for this service that I did not receive and did not intend to use. So I'm out 50 bucks for trying to order a "Free CD" to help write grants to fund my business. I called the company and first they gave me an email address and after I didn't hear back after I emailed them I called the number again and talked to 3 different people who ALL eventually hung up on me when I asked to have a refund! Outrageous! TOTAL SCAM! Even though they did have the info about the monthly charge in fine print and the link to term and conditions, I feel they are preying on people who need money! So sick. I am disputing the charge on my Credit Card, but we'll see.

Went online to research grants and scholarship opportunities. This web site offered access to list for $2.95 with further info available if I wanted more.
I did not authorize any further charges but have since been charged $49.50 for two months in a row now, and can't reach the company by EITHER of their numbers [protected] or [protected]) My credit card company has been unable to reach them also but has put the amounts in dispute and I was forced to cancel my card to aviod any further charges. I told them then I didn't have any interest in the program, but she insisted that I try it for free for thirty days with the exception of a 1.95 charge, so I agreed. Upon checking credit card statements I found that I had been charged $76.21 on 10-7-09 so I called to cancel on 10-14-09 and was informed that it was only 7 days on the trial and that any charges made to my account within the last seven days would be refunded. I thought at that point there would be no problem because I called on the seventh day, but now after two weeks and no resolution I called once more only to be told on two different calls that I wouldn't get a return. This is very poor business practice. first by encouraging under false information and second when I did call within the 7 days from being billed to be told I would not be refunded! Wow! I'm in dismay that you would treat clients in this manner. I certainly hope that this issue will be taken care of soon. Thank you. complaint #595363

I ordered a Grant Research Kit to help me to apply for a grant. I was told it was $1.95. I was told that after 10 days, if I was interested in applying I would be charged $49.50. I also was told after that I could cancel by calling the [protected] number before the 10 days and I would not be charged. Three days later I received the CD. the next day I was charged $49.50. I have tried to make contact and no response. Today I looked on my bank statement and I have been charged again. How can I stopped this. and what do I do.I can't afford this and to not be able to get to the website is even worst.

After inquiry and promise no charge except $2.95 shipping They get cc info then advise me of $58./ mos fee> I try to cancel Immediately but have to call 888 #. That # will not go through. While this is going on they hit my account for $2.95. When I go online I notice 7 attempts by someone other than me trying to log into my bank account to check balance info.( After $2.95 is paid) This all happens within a few minutes. Please Help Others to not be defrauded by this scam. Thanks,

I have called and emailed this company numerous times after the first month of signing up for the service. The toll free number sends you into a holding loop and no one ever answers. I have been on hold for as long as 25 minutes waiting for sometime to speak, and then the system transfers you and cuts you off. I have sent emails to "support@grantresearchguide.com demanding cancellation of this account and they always reply "Thank you for ordering Grant Research Guide..." followed by an order number. I am an independent contractor caught up in the economic crisis. I can't afford to have $50 each month sucked up by them, especially when I tried to cancel after the first month. I need someone of authority to do something or I may have to take the matter into my own hands and track down these bugs. I have seen a virtual plethera of complaints, yet no government agency seems to want to do something about it. I need you HELP. Will someone down there please stop these scammers before someone gets hurt!

On July 4, 2008 I accidently hit the submit button while reading the web page of Grant Research Guide. I immediately sent a return e-mail to the confirmation e-mail I recieved to cancell the subscription, and not charge my account $49.50. I even explained exactly what I did in this e-mail. I thought everything was all set until $49.50 was taken from my account. I called [protected] which was on my statement. On August 22, 2008 I spoke with Alice Cullen who informed me that I'd have to fax a copy of my e-mail to the Billing Dept. She also informed me that I wouldn't be able to speak personally to someone in billing, that everything had to be done by fax. So far I have sent two faxed copies of my e-mail asking for my account to be reimbursed the $49.50 to the Billing Dept. I have yet to see that money in my account. My next step is to file a complaint with the Attorney General.
