Government Vacation Rewards do not waste your money!

You people robbed my husband out of $$$$ of dollars! This company is nothing but a scam and I will be reporting you to the better business burrow! The "all inclusive" resort was a joke due to the fact that it was a timeshare resort NOT a vip all inclusive! The hotel room was ran down and the buffet had flies and wild cats! We left after 2 days however because we did not call and we left we cannot get anything back?! That's crap because government rewards vacation planner set my family up for failure and did not care! Do NOT waste your time nor money of this scam!

Government Vacation Rewards vacation failure and rip off

I just want to send a warning to my brothers and sister in the U.S. Armed Forces about this rip off company that is pretending to be our friend. The only thing GVR wants from us is our hard earning money but when is time to serve us nothing is real. Government Vacation Rewards also is selling fake travel insurance packets that does not work for the destination that you are going to. Do not buy any travel insurance packet from these people, It is plain and simple a fraud/rip off.

Occurs you have to go to hell and back just to try to cancelling your contract and if you are lucky enough and get off the hook you just may as well forget about everything you already paid, you will not pass go neither will collect two hundred. Game is over and you lost all your hard earning money.

After a back and forth I was able to canceled my contract but not before I lost over eleven hundred dollars. Never used one point because all the false promisess they made me. Someone or somebody needs to steps on their tail and stop this rip off.

Government Vacation Rewards select access membership

Being conned for this amazing vacation membership with the liberty to use credits, points and certificate as you see fit... so told the salesperson. All nice with the outrages amount of things they were throwing in to sucker me in.

3000$ later usd I made 1 "free" trip, paid booking fee, booked flight which costed my 1300 and a hotel which again costed me 300$

Government Vacation Rewards incorrect return date on itinerary

On June 5, 2019, I purchased a United Airline flight from Government Vacation Rewards, with departure date of June 15, 2019 and return date of June 22, 2019. I received an Itinerary with the incorrect return date of June 27, 2019. I informed Government Vacation Rewards manager on duty of the error. The manager refused to accept responsibility. Also, I purchased the travelers protection insurance and a rent a car. Because Government Vacation Rewards refused to accept responsibility, I am cancelling all services and products. Therefore, refund all monies and credit my American Express account.
Sincerely,
Lawrence Matthews (Email: lawrence.[protected]@sbcglobal.net)

Government Vacation Rewards service

I was trying to book a cruise with them, and I couldn't get them to help me make my payment. Who doesn't want money. I was using my star card as they say you can do. The first time I called the finance department was close, so someone was supposed to call and take my payment no one ever called. I called and was on hold for over an hour, and when the lady Maria came on the phone she wasn't able to help and couldn't understand English at all I had to spell my name seven times to her after she put me on hold for 30 minutes she came back just to tell me someone else will have to call me and take the payment. Wow this is no way to run a business and I will never use them to book a vacation.

After finally giving them the chance to book the cruise the women doesn't know how to run startcard. She called me asked me to call them and find out what's going on. I called and they said that the card hadn't even been ran. I then spoke with the women and she tried again and still didn't work. I called the starcard again and she still hadn't tried to run my card. I don't understand how this women can be a supervisor. I asked to speak with her boss and she told me he wasn't end so I asked to leave a message and she told me no. I think the company needs to work on training employees better. We are going to go to jag and see if we can get this company on the blacklist. This is not the way to treat someone trying to give you money. The women at starcard told me she deals with this all the time with this comp. Wow this is no way to run a business and I will never use them to book a vacation.

Government Vacation Rewards gvr... liars and a big scam!!

I was scammed out of $1, 500 for membership. GVR promised HUGE discounts when booking using GVR. For one complete year, I tried booking online with GVR, called them many times (no answer or they would hang up) and never, ever got one single vacation or cruise booked using GVR. I requested a full refund of my $1, 500 and never got one cent back. GVR is a SCAM! Stay away from GVR.

Read my post about "I.C.E. enterprise". GVR is one of the brands that they represent so if you have purchased any other travel memberships you should file a report/complaint with the FTC as well as the AZAG. I listed the other brands in my post.

Government Vacation Rewards does not honor guarantee

Company has best value guarantee: "What is the Best Value Guarantee? We will guarantee that the combined value of our posted lowest market price less any loyalty currency (where applicable) will be better than the lowest publicly available market price of any other qualified seller. If our combined value is not better, we will match the qualified seller's lowest market price at the time of purchase or within 24 hours of purchase." However, when asked to match a competitor's price, the agent, Luis, added a $50 service fee because the request was made by telephone. However, one can't look for business class fares on the web site. Despite that catch 22, he stated that was company policy, could not waive it. So in fact, there was NO price match. this occurred on 8/31/18 on request for price match to american airlines: * FARE-USD $ 1850. 29 taxes and carrier-imposed fees $ 112. 46 ticket total $ 1962. 75; *fare-usd $ 1850. 29 taxes and carrier-imposed fees $ 112. 46 ticket total $ 1962. 75. We paid $2499 for 10 yr pgm with this company; additional charges at 2 yr anniv, $29/yr but adds $500 travel savings credits per yr. Despite renewal on 8/31/18, no travel savings credits have been added to our account.

Government Vacation Rewards un-american

I paid nearly $3, 000 over a course of 2 years for "points". I now have over 81, 000 points but cannot use all of them. You can only use some of them for each booking. This is a total scam. I thought I was saving up to be able to purchase a vacation.

They show you some great rates when trying to get you to sign up. You will never get or see those rates again.

Government Vacation Rewards email regarding getting $500 savings credits.. and then the results on the phone..

As noted the email of April 20 promised savings credits.. and it was apparent that all they wanted was a "body" to talk to, and once I advised that I had no intention of paying in any money at this time, the call was swiftly ended.. and there are no such savings credits in my account today...

I have had concerns in the past.. but as long as I can "sign in", I find it useful as one point of reference. We had booked, and then had to cancel, a cruise through them, but our money refunded.

I think there are some good and honest people there, amongst others who probably have huge $ targets to meet.

Update to my prior comments: Gov Vac Rewards contacted me shortly after the above comment, and within a short while had made amends by doing what they said, and adding an additional "recompense" for inconvenience ... A couple other matters were addressed as well, and all is well ... NOW I just have to do the planning/traveling part ...
Thanks, GVR ...

Government Vacation Rewards charge for reinstatement of points is a ripoff

My 50, 000 points expired 7 days ago, called customer service and they want and to pay another $1600 to restate them or rather buy more. There should be a grace pop period, life happens. This organization died not support Veterans as I am a Disabled one. However they are quick to set you up on yet another payment plan. I lost a trip to Cancun 2-9 Dec of 2017 and even after our purchasing travel insurance, I was unable to reschedule it or redeem monies paid. I also lost $700 plus in reward cash. This company is a total fraud and ripoff! Do not waste your time or money with Government Vactions Rewards, you will not be rewarded with anything even after paying for it!

Government Vacation Rewards cruise insurance

I booked a cruise to Beize, Cozumel, Roatan leaving on 3-11 September
My Name is James R Garza
2017, I had to cancel that cruise due to Hurricane Harvey (property damage) . I paid for Insurance(CSA) with GVR on that trip.. I filled out the forms that CSA required and it's been 5 MONTHS and still nothing, I have gotten nothing but the run around. I am trying to get the points (100, 000) and my money I use for that trip.I received an e mail stating they were contacting GVR concerning this topic. Why are you using CSA if they treat your customer this way, I booked another trip leaving again to the same locations above on the 8th of april 2018, hopefully I have no issues like I am having from my last booking.

Government Vacation Rewards failure to award earned points

I have been a member of government vacation rewards for six years. During the first couple of years, their service was pretty much as promised, but it has consistently deteriorated over the past few years. One major issue is that their online account information makes it very difficult for members to track their earned points. I maintain a separate record to monitor my own account and have had to call and request corrections to my account on numerous occasions. Most recently, they failed to credit my account with nearly 15, 000 points that I earned for a cruise completed last month (Dec 10-18). I have called them twice about this, and both times have been promised that this error would be corrected "within a day or two." It has been over a week since my last call and these points are still missing from my account. It seems that government vacation rewards now just wants to take your money and not provide the benefits they promise. I am shocked that they continue to benefit from Air Force Association support since they clearly are not providing a professional service to military-affiliated clients. Shameful!

Government Vacation Rewards membership

I was contacted about joining this great vacation rewards club where I would get all these great benefits and earn points along the way. Sheena that was trying to sell us the club membership was very helpful until after we enrolled and started paying for our membership after which time she wouldn't return our calls or emails. Almost decided to get out 3 months in but decided to stick it out as we were told we could take these great vacations for little to nothing out of pocket. Anytime I tried to get a room through Government Vacation Award it wasn't any cheaper than using my military discount. Needless to say 2995.00 later after our membership is paid in full I go to book my vacation. We still ended up pulling over 800.00 more out of pocket. So now I have 3700.00 invested in a cruise that I could have paid 1600.00. Don't join this club they lie. Just book your vacation and pay on it each month will be a lot cheaper in the long run and you won't be limited to dealing with them.

Government Vacation Rewards not what they said they were

This company promised big things and have delivered almost nothing. We took 2 trips with them and were put at the Westgate Resorts in Myrtle Beach and Westgate River Ranch in the Orlando area. Both resorts were not the 4 star that we were told they were. The staffs at both resorts were rude and unhelpful. The resorts were not well kept and dirty. We were told that if we were travelling we could call and get a hotel room, we tried and were not able to get a room because they "don't do that". I am also upset that they only deal with Westgate Resorts and if you are not going to Mexico they do not have resorts other places. I want a travel club that is responsive and has rooms world wide like they say. We like to travel to a variety of places, not forced to go to a country we have no interest in travelling to.

Government Vacation Rewards travel

I was pricing different sites, i.e., Travelocity and Orbitz and found a round trip to cancun from Connecticut staying at certain hotel with roundtrip air the price for the two was averaged 1500 not too bad. I then went on the AAFES or Army, Air Force Exchange Service who happens to use this garbage service, they didn't have the package deal option, so I booked the same dates for the same hotel, without airfare and the hotel rate was 2000 dollars. This service is nothing but a rip off, and I am now contacting AAFES to let them know as well. Maybe they can use a reputable service.

Government Vacation Rewards very shady company

Long story short, I am in the Military I joined as a member because they cater to the Military. This company and their staff are unprofessional, they are basically con-men, their special offers are garbage, and you can find prices for hotels, flights and rental cars for less almost 90% of the time through different travel agency services. The first time I spoke to one of their reps he acted professional and genuine, but once you are locked into the membership contract everyone that works there knows that and their demeanor changes. Now I'm stuck paying $115.00 a month for the next two years for services that I don't even use, the only deals they have on hotels are on days that most people have to work, they almost never have any special deals on hotels for the weekend. I don't even want get into the drama I went through these clowns, I will promise anyone that you will be regretful if you join as a member to this company.

I also purchased a $1500 package in 2013 after receiving several calls from them. I wish I had continued to say 'no'. They pretend to be doing something for MWR, but when I got disgusted with them and asked them who was there contact at MWR no one knew. My package came with a renewal of $19 a year for 10 years, which my contract says I will have the quarterly specials, but everyone who calls me uses that as a sales pitch for me to upgrade to the (I think) $1600 package now. When I tell them my $19 renewal covers the Quarterly specials, they argue with me and then finally check and see that it does. They are a rip off. You can get better deals with USAA, AFVC, Costco and using your military discount. The free resort certificate that I finally received was at a resort in Orlando that was insect (crawling) infested and nothing to write home about. I had to argue with them for over an hour about a room in Indianapolis that I could get with two beds for less than their one bed room. A room in Miami at the Marriott was also cheaper for me with my military discount. They use discount places like Priceline, Travelocity, etc., so, they are limited in what they can offer you. I was supposed to get two tickets to Six Flags over Georgia and 2 free tickets to anywhere in the continental US--no blackout dates in addition to the free resort stay. I had to call to get all three months after I purchased the package. The resort stay was not good, the Six Flags tickets arrived too late for warm weather and they expired, and the 2 'free airline tickets to anywhere in US' were a lie. They were only good for certain sections of the US--I live in Memphis and there was nothing even originating from here and customer service did nothing to make things right. They probably will now, since they have had so many complaints. Their cruises and vacation packages cost more than the afore mentioned and sometimes even more than the cruise lines themselves. I want to go on a vacation when I want to go, not ONLY when you have them available for less because they are not fully booked; and where I want to go. Costco covers everything and sometimes you get a Cash card when you return. I now have a charge on my card that I do not recognize from Our Vacation Center with a phone number in Australia. After doing some research, which is how I found this page, I think it's Gov Vacation Rewards. I'm going to dispute the charge because I did not authorize it. They already called me to pitch their sales pitch and I told them I wasn't interested and would let them know if I wanted to renew for $19.

I agree, I purchased a few years ago and only got 1 trip which used up all of my points. I was so upset because when you join and pay all that money and are given 75000 points you think that you have a great deal. However, one trip to Dominican Republic used about 65-70k point. I then went online to see how how much I would have paid and was so upset to see that the trip was about $800. Therefore, I paid GVR $1500 for a $800 vacation... I was so upset that of course I didn't rejoin for a few years. I actually just rejoined this year and it is actually working much better for me. You have to learn the system and order to get your moneys worth. Basically book their Quarterly Specials, weekly deal, and resorts using points only the locations that are charging 10-20k points. TRUST ME, I understand you all because I felt the same way about 3-4 years ago.

My story is basically the same as Samm's the only difference is I didn't buy their package, and boy am I glad I didn't! They are a scam, they offer you a good price the first time you use their service but if you return that's when the prices go out the roof and you call them only to get conned into their package. I can't believe that they can continue to con and deceive the military people and and no seems to care! How do they continue working for our servicemen? Someone please tell me how we can stop this!

I too am A retired service member with not hat much disposable income. They repersent themsevles just as the Very Shady Company report describes. They tout Wounded Warrior donations and that they are Military Star card Compliant.. Unfortunately, this company uses the Nancy Pelosi method to get you to buy thier vacation memberships, "You have to Buy it to see what is in it" becaus ethat is the only way you can see what it REALLY offers. Thier Marketing web page is not complete and gives abstract comparisons. When you purchase thier membership and Actually look inside you find out that the SPECIAL prices are not so special. Especially if you are using Cruise ships. I aclled to cnaccell my membership 3 days after I purchase this and I was told I had to call my agent... Left two messages, He never called me 4 months later, still no call back. I wasted $2400 Dollars.. DO NOT BUY THIS! also FYI alert! SEARS VACATION REWARDS ARE THE SAME COMAPNY! RUN!

I also joined and agree with you. I have nothing good to say about this company. I was suppose to get a free cruise and a 7 day stay at a resort. What they didn't tell me was there is only one chain of resorts you can stay at. As far as the free cruise it cost me over $500.00 because what they don't tell you until you book your cruise is there are fees that you are responsible for. NOT WORTH IT!

Government Vacation Rewards run away

These guys are a discrace to what they represent.
they represent our military and government employees and claim that they are a service to us veterans. WRONG. they are flat out liars.
they do not back up their contracts in that they take points away if not used even though their contract guaranteed that they cannot take your points away.
they say that your points can be used for most things when in fact they can be used for next to nothing.
they do not answer their phones, they do not reply to emails and they have varying answers to every question asked.
HORRIBLE

I'm in the Military and I had a very bad, if not the worst experience with overall service from this so called company, I understand 100% what you are going through and you went through, everything you described on here is spot on with what this scam of a company does, I excepted the mistake of joining this circus of a company and for me it's just a a lesson learned. To "Big", I don't know if you are on drugs or your just dreaming but if you are happy with this company then you are definitely with the one percentile.

Sorry long reply also sorry to hear about your experience with GVR, but we have had the total opposite. Love them or hate them it is your choice but we been on two vacations or cruises through them. One to Bermuda we used our program certificate which was for a 4 cruise but I researched the cruises and got a 7 day cruise on Celebrity X Cruise Line (Oceanview), that is a luxury cruise line (no additional cost). The other cruise we paid for on Norwegian Cruise Line, NCL to much fun. Our next cruise will be free using our points (less port fees/taxes) is a 7 cruise on Carnival Cruise Line (balcony) fingers are crossed. GVR service has always been excellent for us. We have cancelled car rentals, hotels, and cruises with full refunds within 7 business days. I'm will to give advice about GVR to anyone especially active/retired military members/families. Good luck to you! BTW I'm still active duty military so I get zero kick backs from GVR.

Government Vacation Rewards ripped off for an airline ticket

This was my first time using my GVR, to book an airline ticket to san Antonio, TX from Jacksonville, Fl
They quoted me a price, took my information and then told me that flight was no longer available, so they tried to offer me a higher price for the exact same flight. I declined because I knew where this was going. I went directly to the airline itself and booked the exact same flight for the same price., but GVR had already took the money off of my credit card but they couldn't get me a flight for that price but they took that amount of money off my card. RUN FROM THIS COMPANY AS FAST YOU CAN! They only want to get your money they are not in it to please the customer. I call them and requested them to put my money back on my card. They did but I had to go there and should have to when its your money no one has the right to take advantage of your bank account or you for that matter.

Government Vacation Rewards rip off

GVR is the worst business ever! Do not get involved with this company. They are just ripping people off and stealing money in broad daylight. Their staff is so rude and only educated on how to get money. They call selling promotions and when you say no they just hang up. Their prices are still high as hell and they AR NOT affiliated with the military! Take it from me am an active duty member. I got so ripped off and my vacation was ruined because of these guys. My integrity is golden and i beg those who reads this to go elsewhere. Use Military Vacation Deals, NOT GVR. These guys will get theirs and karma is a B!t%h and this company will go under and perish for what they do. Poor staff and just horrible services. They take forever to return call requests for help and if you're in another time zone you're screwed. I am telling everyone here do not use this agency please. Save your money and go elsewhere. If you haven't used this company, don't! If you have, run with what you have and don't look back!

I have been a select access member for several years. I received a call from Cyndi Webb- Manager phone number [protected] and she advised me that I was under two memberships, which I was not aware of. I was told by Cyndi Webb that I still have 5 months left to pay on my previous membership. A different Select access member representative spoke to me and said, that he would give me $2, 000 Cash toward my account to use "as cash" for any thing I would like, plus he gave me $125, 000 points to my account. I already had 110, 000 points in my account at that time.So with a total of over 200, 000 points i had. I booked travel with a agent for a tour and I told her I wanted to use $1500.00 of my cash with a balance of 500. I did not authorize the use of my points. This was a gross error on her part. The other issue is I had two certificates and they were taken away from me twice for no reason. I am very disappointed in the way that my account has been handled over the year. So, Cyndi Webb took the liberty of taking all of my points and my $2000.00 cash and I have nothing to show for the money I have paid.I have several users on my account who have booked travel under my name, and those points are missing, I will terminate my account effect immediately and delete all the users on my account if The $2, 000 cash $125, 000 points plus the certificates, and the points from my users travel does not get restored. My email address is Heartangel49@aol.com Select access membership number is GVRF94061CPZ

I urge you to listen very well to all conversation tapes dating back 6 months -1 year. Please advise me of your decision

Thank you

When I initially signed up for GVR the representative told me of all the amazing benefits for a person like my self that travels...that was 09/2013. 1st the guarantee of the lowest fare is bs... all I ever saw was $1.00 lower than market rates. 2nd I was promised a free 4 day 3 night cruise (which there were problems with that because it dropped off my account (time frame to use). When I requested to have the certificate put back on because I was not aware of time frame, it was put back on (without me being notified) and I had 30 days to book. When I called to book this FREE 4 day 3 night, I requested a one step upgrade from regular stateroom to room with small window. I was told this would be $900+ additional WTH...then I tried to use some of the 100K bonus points I was given for signing up with GVR...not an option. Just now one of their reps called me with a SPECIAL offer of a 4 night 3 day for paying off my account balance today. HELLO THERE WAS NO VALUE IN THE FIRST CERTIFICATE OR SELECT ACCESS I WAS GIVEN! I WANT NOTHIN FROM YOU POPLE AND EVERY OPPORTUBITYI GET I WILL TELL Y MILITARY FRIENDS AND MILITARY COMMUNITES WHERE I GO TO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GVR. I actually had to apologize to him because he got an earful from me. The services offered by GVR are not his fault. So since 10/2013 it has cost me $114.00 a month for NOTHING! BEWARE
