failure to honor an email ad
I received an email for veteran's day showing that the company could use the military star card to book a car and airfare reservation. When I called the company they told me that they couldn't use a Military star card to reserve a rental car, and that it was a package deal. So when I called back about the package I sat on hold for 1 hour just to have them disconnect me and the I called back again just to have them disconnect me after another 30 mins of waiting. This company should be charged with false advertising and taken off of the military's authorized companies. They refuse to do what they advertise and then refuse to talk to you. I personally will no longer be using them and will be writing reviews similar to this one on every government website I can.

booking error
Been with this company and used them for one vacation but now they totally screwed up my next. Booked the wrong date for my return flight. They booked it wrong for a month, so now i had to come out of pocket by an extra $500. They are aimed to rip off military members and a company like this should be shut down it is a disgrace that the military will continue to promote them to pick pocket troops like myself.

First time GVR online user. Family crisis overseas. Needed to book travel for two ASAP. Have to use my military Star card.
Found 2 tickets for $3, 270. They charge me an additional $200 for using my Military Star Card. I click OK. Then the Booking Failed because of some computer problem on their end. Now I have no tickets. They still have a pending charge against my Military Star Card the full $3, 470. Now I can't go back and re-book the flight because my Military Star Card is maxed out with the pending
charge. I called them yesterday and spent over 4 continuous hours on hold. I even missed work. They simply do not answer the phone and they do not care. AAFES should be ashamed to do business with them.
Government Vacation Rewards - fraud/ scam
This company is a total fraud. Watch out! This. Company goes under other names as well. Since my investigation I have found this same company under 8 different names! Do your research before giving your hard earned money to this company. They are many complaints at the BBB, /link removed/ and other sites. These people took from me $1000 dollars for service...

We booked a Honeymoon vacation to the Atlantis Hotel, Paradise Island Bahamas which was supposed to include several vacation perks. One of which- Free Breakfast for the entire 4-day stay. Before taking advantage of this, we asked Guest services how this would be handled. They stated to just use your room key to pay and at the end of the vacation when you check out. the amount/s would be removed from your bill. The hotel refused to honor this part of the contract and stated, they have no clue as to why that was put in our package. I contacted the original booking agent and they stated it is not their fault and the Hotel must handle the refund. At this point, we are filing a suit based upon this info being on our contract.

I have never done business with Government Vacation Rewards, but I have received three calls from them using real people three times in three weeks. All I do is hang up.
They say that they do not sell you information, but how did they get my information? They must have paid for it in some fashion.
contract dispute
Contract states you are not entitled to a refund if cancellation is after 10 days. Not looking for a refund, however, GVR refuses to cancel my contract. Already paid for four months, have not used any of my points, yet GVR refuses to stick to their contact, which says you cancel but no refund. GVR expects me to pay another 6 months. Very unhappy with this company because they told me I can use my points to get a room for my family of five, however they don't tell you the rooms are for two people. This means I would have to get a separate room for my young kids, what sense does that make?

I tried to can cancel this membership the same day that I opened it. I was unaware that there were blackout days and that I could not use my points for more than 2 people in a room. I have faxed, called, emailed...AND every time that I call, someone is trying to talk me out of cancelling. Or I am on the telephone for at least 20 minutes holding. It is crazy! I have been trying for 1 month to cancel this memebrship..
You technically "signed" a contract stating you would make 10 monthly payments from what you are saying if my math is correct. So you are trying to cancel your membership after the 10 day period and don't want to make the other 6 payments but lose the payments you already made. Just making sure I understand the complaint correctly because it makes sense to me and I know that you can cancel and stop making those payments. I would suggest going to a supervisor and stop talking to the person who sold it to you. They have some really good people there, I love my account manager, she always returns my calls and I have taken 2 vacations using my points and have gotten 2 bedroom units each time. I think you just got someone who doesn't care about you but is in it for the money and won't be with the company much longer.
Government Vacation Rewards - unauthorized automatic payments
I was contacted by a Sales rep in early June about getting a vacation package. He said you would pay $149 right now to secure your 75, 000 points, that could later be redeemed for a 5 night cruise or a 7 day resort stay. We would pay off the remaining balance over time. After that balance was paid was when we could take the vacation. Sounded like a good way...

I was traveling on government travel orders to Georgia in March of 2010 with another government employee. On 2/26/2010 my co-worker / co-traveler contacted our local Leisure Travel office to reserve two separate rooms in the same hotel for our trip. The Leisure Travel office asked for a credit card to secure the reservation so I gave them my government...
