I've been a longtime Goodyear customer and went with the Goodyear Assurance tires paying nearly $500 installed. I was impressed with the information and program around the tires. However after only 32,000 miles the tires needed replacement. Of course they pro-rated the new tires but at this rate I'll pay over $250/tire as a lifetime cost to get to the 80,000 stated tire life of the Goodyear Assurance not to mention the time spent waiting for replacements to be mounted + new vales, + shop fees + taxes +++. I can buy a lot of other tires a few times over before I would reach this cost and likely 3 times the mileage to boot. So unfortunately, no you don't get what you pay for. Goodyear's question was "did you rotate the tires". So rotation would triple the tread-wear? Show me the data that supports that theory. BTW... I did have the tires rotated.

I have gotten less than 30K from my triple treads and they have been rotated at 10k and as the winter tires were put on twice. At 30 K thye have about 1/16th left before the wearbars and they are going out of round-can't be balanced - road force over 20lbs on one.
Tire rack will give no satisfaction because of the 10k rotation. Less than half the wear they advertize.
I'm going back to Michelins - they last
I've had my Goodyear tires for 80k miles and will probably buy the Assurance comfortred again. Great handling and they are still going strong.
I too bought 4 new triple tread 205 60R16 for my Hyundai.Bought from Dunn tire in Rochester.They rotate them for free but several times they were too busy so I rotated em myself.Then at 32000 miles they are worn out. They tell me I'm screwed because I don't have receipts to show I had em rotated every 5000 miles. Also when they get worn down the tires start getting LOUD road noise. 80K mile guarantee indeed.I'll never buy another goodyear tire.
Bought Goodyear Assurance Comfort Treads for wife's minivan because of the listed superior wet & dry traction - little did I know they would never give a smooth ride. Steering wheel vibrates like the car has bent rims, it doesn't. Stock tires were smooth. Purchased at Goodyear Gemini center - they warrantied all of them out, replaced them, same vibration story. I intend to fight them and replace them with something that doesn't vibrate. Shop manager finally confessed that there were some issues with them not being round.
I bought My goodyear assurance triple tread tires 8 months ago. I started having problems two months later. I had gotten a complete alignment at the dodge dealer before I bought the tires. First the tire dealer said that the tires were cupped due to improper alignment. I showed them a copy of the work order from the car dealer and the cause changed. They said that it was because I didnt have my tires rotated as recommended by the manufacturer. That didnt fly either, they were the ones doing the rotations. I am still fighting them and I dont intend to let them win.
I had Goodyear Assurance Comfort Tread tires on my 2001 Honda Accord. I always had the tires rotated every 3, 000 - 5, 000 miles and each time I had the tires rotated the shop where I purchased my tires checked my car's alignment. My tires only lasted for 50, 000 miles even though the stated life of the tires was supposed to be 80, 000 miles. The shop where I purchased my tires is owned by Goodyear so even though they prorated my tires I only had the option of choosing other Goodyear/Dunlop tires. I tried some Dunlop tires this time, I'm not bothering with the Assurance Comfort Tread's again. If I get poor tread life from these Dunlop tires, then I'm done with Goodyear altogether. I'm not an aggressive or hard driver at all. The Michelin tires that came on my car gave me excellent tread life, so I probably should have just stuck with those.
I have had Goodyear Assurance triple treads on my 2002 Alero for 44, 000 miles. I like the tire's excellent performance in dry and wet conditions (including snow) and am getting great tread wear, but have experienced a wheel shake at speeds of 70mph+ . Turns out that the tires are no longer round. They have been balanced 3x, rotated regularly every 6, 000 miles, have had 2 alignments, and changed wheel bearings, so it's not the car, or the driver that is the problem. Don't know how long they have been my bad - frankly I like the tires so much that I didn't want the tires to be the issue, but they are. Anyone else have this problem?
I Am Not A Fan Of Goodyear Tires By Any Means. As A Matter Of Fact I Am Michelin Certified And Stand True To Michelin. But Unfortunately For You Rotating Your Tires Means More Than Once Or Twice Within That 32, 000 Mi. Did You Have Your Alignment Checked? 8/10 Times The Answer Is No. So Maybe If You Rotate Your Tires Every 6, 000 To 8, 000 Miles And Have Your Alignment Checked At Least Every 15, 000Mi. You Can Save Yourself Some Time, Money And Especially Aggravation. Believe Me Nothing Is More Frustrating Than Having An Ignorant Person Complaining That There Tires Are Faulty. All Most Every Time Its The Consumers Fault. I'm Sorry But Out Of 5, 000 Tires Made From Each Plant I Doubt You Got The Only 4 That Were Faulty! Oh Yeah And Make Sure You Check Your Air Pressure MONTHLY, As It Sates In Your Owners Manuel.
