Goodwill Industries employee complaint

I was just at your store today, 4/24/2019, at around noon, and the young black woman with a short kind of blunt haircut was so rude to me. At first I asked her what the color of the week was, and she smirked and pointed at the sign — never spoke — just pointed — the other customers found it humerous that she embarrased me. Then when I came to the register to make a purchse she screamed out - "Ma'am! Did you not read that sign?" — it was the one that said she was working the next register. Several of the customers standing around the register snickered after she had screamed out at me. It was very humliating, and I have been in with my sick husband for three months and this was supposed to be a nice day out for myself. Also I am a frequent customer of your store. I did not appreciate the way she treated me at all.

Well if they have a sign just read the sign. If you cannot just be honest. Tell her you cannot read. If the sign is right in front of you and you cannot read it you deserve to be embarrassed.

Goodwill Industries store #5501 west end

I purchased a sofa at Goodwill West End #5502 on 4/14/19 and advised I would pick up the sofa today. Before I could pick the sofa up, I received a call from Monique advising they'd already sold the sofa before selling the sofa to me and that the other person picked up the sofa earlier today. Mistakes happen but there are procedures that even as a repeat shopper I'm aware of. 1. They should have removed the tag once sold. The tag was not removed. In fact, I took the tag up to the cash register and paid for the item as is their procedure. 2. They should have taken the sofa off the floor after having sold the item. I was there for several hours after making the purchase and I requested they take it to the back which they did not while I was there, advising that a worker was just coming on shift and that he would do it when he could. So now that I've made arrangements to get a truck and help to move the sofa and gotten rid of the sofa that was in the room, because of their incompetence I am SOL and furious! My suggestion, if you make a furniture purchase, take it with you the SAME day. Do not trust that they will follow procedures.

Goodwill Industries pharmacy

I have no doubt with two not great situations with the Charlotte Meijer Pharmacy. The first time I came in to fill a prescription for my son they left me walking around for an hour waiting for them to fill my son's prescription finally I had to walk up to them only to be told that their system was down and they could not fill my son's prescription. And now the second time I pulled up to the window at 6 was ignored while I was sitting there another young woman came up to the window and rudely told me that she was not going to fill my son's prescription today and then I was not there before the time that they closed arguing with me this whole time refusing to fill my son's prescription very unprofessional and I will not be using Meijer Pharmacy anymore let alone shopping at Meijer and I will be sharing my experience with all my friends and family and a large majority of social media

Goodwill Industries raising price on priced item

I was in the New Albany, Indiana store and was purchasing 3 seasons of a DVD series. Two were priced and one did not have a price on it. Asked them to price not priced item . They did as requested but also raised price on one of the items that had a price on it already. Needless to say I did not buy any of these DVDs. I am a frequent shopper but there are plenty other thrift stores so I will no longer shop at any Goodwill. I questioned price change and the lady manager was extremely rude to me.

Goodwill Industries Gary Goll, Robert A. Schneeburg and Jim Livingston are full of crap at goodwill laundry

Goodwill Laundry directors Gary Goll, Jim Livingston and Vice President Robert A. Schneeburg are full of crap at Goodwill Laundry, because they hire bad laundry managers and bad laundry supervisors to fire and terminate good co-workers and disabled co-workers from Goodwill Laundry! They tarnish laundry co-workers reputations, They let laundry managers and laundry supervisors get away with bad things that they do to good laundry co-workers! They turned Goodwill Laundry into an unsafe work enviroment from 2005 to 2015. Me, Willie Ward and Eskiel Collins worked there for 25 years and they let us go. They made an unsafe enviroment for the Asians, Chinese, Koreans and Hmongs and got them laid off in 2015.Stay away from Goodwill Laundry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin because they ain't worth working for in the future!

Hello...this is regarding the Goodwill Ind Of Fort Worth...Fort Worth TX 76119...i corresponded with customer service and packing of item since it was electronics and heavy but delicate. I was reassured item would arrive safely. Item was lightly packed and destroyed. I asked for a refund and was told to send dimensions of box etc. and ship it back. Why? it's junk now. I have been a customer going on 3 year'snow and the service is getting considerably worse in the shipping department so much so i'm considering quitting the website and shopping with Goodwill...i can't keep paying for busted item's through negligence or incompetence. It's no fun shopping and winning bid's putting out good more and having it destroying in transit. My name is James Henson...my contact info is [protected] johnson st east peoria il 61611. The first 8 photo's are of most recent item...i have included a few more that are also recent.

Goodwill Industries discrimination?

Was in the second hand store in North Miami Beach, FL for a couple of polo shirts and on my way to the cash register with two nice ones over my arm, i saw a pair of running shoes my size. I tried them on and thought they could be a good back up pair. Sure, they were stained but i'm capable of washing that off.
So i rush over to pay and the woman behind the register says after some hesitation the shoes cost $2. I had noticed several overhead signs in the store showing $2 for clothes here and there and i considered the price fair for used shoes. But then she turned to her supervisor who happened to pass near us, and asked if that was the correct price and the supervisor immediately told her in Spanish that no, the price is $12. I almost fainted. I told them I just bought a pair of brand new running shoes online from Walmart for $11.95.
Was it because i am not Hispanic (though i speak Spanish among other languages) as this often happens here in Miami?
I asked in Spanish if they would take less, and the answered was No.
Me and my wife come often to this store for work clothes and so i was really shocked at being treated this way. We have heard others bargain in this store and had the price of items reduced. After all these goods are all donated; free to Goodwill Industries.
Very frustrated, i saw no other way out as to leave even the polo shirts on the counter and exit the store buying nothing.

Unrelated to my issue with the shoes, i noticed near the register counter on a table various 2019 calendars at a price of $1.99. It so happens that in the DOLLAR TREE the exact same calendars are selling for only $1.
It does seem that GOODWILL is overpriced.

Goodwill Industries rude employee

Hello: My mom and I have been going to your 350 Fairview Ave Hudson NY store for 15'years. My mom is on a fixed income and i am disabled on a fixed income. I have 2 kids and struggle feeding and clothing my family and that is why I go to your store. To save EVERY penny. On august 30, we went into the store and noticed RITA was working. RITA has a tendancey to have a short fuse with customers. We have seen this with other customers and she has been short with us in the past as well. My mom was buying $15. shoes and thought they were half off. When my mom realizes they were full price she couldnt get them. I told my mom i would give her half the money so she could buy them, Rita got extremely MAD. She slammed the shoes down on the counter and said to my 80 year old mother" do you want them or not..!". This is just unacceptable to treat an 80 year old woman this way. THEN rita said the bill was 14.99 and im gonnnamround it up to $15.00. my mom ( on a fixed income, who comes to the store to save every penny) said " no thank you i dont want to round up.". Rita sighed and shook her head in disgust. So you think this is terrible..? now it's my turn.
I had a hat for $4.99. Rita said to me.. " i'm going to round YOUR order up to $5.00 . I said no thank you. RITAthen says(infront of a line of other customers). " it's just a F***ing penny..!
my mom and myself, my wife and her sisters and all of our children all go to the goodwill to buy my clothes and school supplies, etc for 15 years. We will not go back to be harrassed by one of your employees. If someone doesnt want to round up, they shouldnt be humiliated infront of a room of other customers and that is what RITA did to me, 'my two children and my 80 year old mother. My mother was so emmbarrassed she said she never wants to go back and started crying when i got her into the car.
This was straight up harrassment and completely humiliating and unacceptable. its bad enough to do this to me( a disabled american) but to do this to a 80 year old mother is just the worst of the worst.

Goodwill Industries halloween costumes and apparel

Hello my name is Linette Lopez. I got home from work last night october 11th at 8 at night and headed to goodwills on malabar road because my kids needed halloween costumes for today for school. Cashier name is judith s. And the terminal id is POS 5248_3. I got a pair of gloves that the cashier said they were 2.99 but charged me 4.99 for them. A pair of glasses for 4.99. 2 capes for 3.99 each. A dress for 4.99. And another cape for 3.49 which she charged me 3.99 for it. A crown for 1.99 which she scanned twice. Butterfly wings for 4.99. 3 cigarette holders for 2.99 each. 3 hats of the same one was marked at 4.99 the other one was marked at 5.99 but she didnt mark that price she marked 2 for 12.99 each. Its sad how people take advantage. I ended up paying 75.82 when the total was suppouse to be 51.37 plus tax. I noticed when i got home. It was too late to go back it was closed already. And the saddest part is that the costumes were for today and my kids were excited already so i wasnt going to let them down. I have the receipt and the tags. I dont know if i can do something about it. Thank you in advance.

Goodwill Industries pulling tags on $1 day 20713 n 83rd ave, peoria, az 85382

Every Thursday they have $1 day. Only at this location, each week they pull the $1 color tag of the day. Not only do they pull them, they do it right in front of you and do not allow you to even look at the merchandise they are pulling. This is happening right when the store opens at 9 am every single Thursday $1 day. Plus they have the racks on wheels and carts of pulled tags right in the middle of the aisle so you can't even walk through to see what little merchandise is left. I have complained to the manager, employees, and now corporate, and they have done nothing to stop it. This is false advertising at its core. They have told me they do it to "make room" for new merchandise but their racks are almost barren so this statement is completely false. Plus they have all week to "make room". Why are they doing it at the beginning of the sale day and pulling all the sale tags? They are clearly trying to get people in the door with $1 day special, but advertising falsely because all the color $1 tags of the day have been pulled. This has been going on all year and my complaints have fallen on deaf ears. I have a disability with extremely low income and my father is a war veteran. We are loyal customers so we look forward to getting these deals but we simply cannot when they do this.

Goodwill Industries service

date of incident = 10-3-2018
Complaint against = manager name Gina
Address = Goodwill Lake Joy, 1111 kathleen highway 96 GA 31047
I'm a common customer. I usually don't have time or don't like to try on clothes until I go home. I went there this weekend (sept-30-2018, Sunday). I paid $105.72. I went home and notice there's a couple items i didnt like or didn't fit or defect. The manager, Gina, look at the items and take it to the back of the store to verify the inventory. I was like "really". Note: I had a return with her once before. she said there's no way she can verify the short that i'm returning was from her store because there's no tag. Well when i bought the short there was no tag. The cashier told me if no tag then its gonna be full price. She didn't give my short a tag just in case i need to return it. If she can go back there to verify if the items are from her store why didn't she help me with the short that i previously wanted to return. I ended up didn't get a return from the short so i just took it home.as a matter of fact it still in the trunk of my car. i dont know what to do with it. And i had an incident with her again this time. this time she brought my items back and CHECK.I feel like she's discriminating me/us. Oh, I'm asian. I had to call the headquarter right after I get to my shop to complain but they hadn't return my called. but i'll keep try because i like that store and I don't want to not be able to go there anymore. but i can't keep get treating like this everytime i have a return item. I called the cashier that help me out to hang up all the items. I'm not that cheap. I can do donation. I don't need those items to be return anymore. But Gina treat me very low. Oh, I talk to Gina when I called to ask to speak to Jasmine, the nice cashier lady. Gina told me there's a couple of items that not on my receipt. She just called me a "scammer". I don't know how she ended up with that answer but thats not true. She's playing me. I would like the problem to be resolve because I still want to continue to shopping at that goodwill in particular (nice items). Thanks!

Goodwill Industries goodwill 6220 richmond hwy. alexandria, virginia 22303

I visit a number of Goodwills in the Virginia region but I have to put this store at the top for misconduct. They have taken every insole out of the sneakers in this store. Any type shoe of value is without an insole. They remove all the game discs as well and when asked to purchase one they cannot be found. I have never seen this done in any other store in all my years shopping. Many items will have specific parts removed to make them lower value.

Goodwill Industries stolen item from me

My two daughters came over to do a really sweet thing for me, knowing I had been talking about cleaning out my storage they came and cleaned out the entire thing.
Afterward, they returned to tell me and this is right after they went to the Goodwill and the donated a lot of very expensive items, which I let go of, and got over, except one glass vase with gold inlay, this was just too precious and worth too much to justify leaving there. I called the Good Will the next morning (Mon morning) as it was already closed that Sun night.
I let them know the situation and how it was accidentally left there etc. and this person was not helpful (being nice) and said he could not take it off the floor after it already been put out for sale, and I told him that I doubted it was out on the floor yet, no one had been working long enough to have put all my items up for sale? I explained further to him that it is a very expensive vase, and that it was not for sale, he said he did not care, he was busy and couldn't help me.
I then called the corporate office in New York and told someone there the situation, she called over to Jason and he then found the time, located my vase and assured me that it was off the floor and he put a note on it that read it was not for sale, the customer would pick it up at the end of the week. I let him know that I lived over an hour from there, and how my cousins were there from Canada, my mom was recovering from surgery, and my closest friend had suddenly passed away all in the same 10
days, I asked if it would be ok
to pick it up closer to the end of the week, he said ok.
He had already taken it off the floor, put a note on it and said it was mine, it was not for sale etc., so it will be fine.
However, when I went to pick it up three days later, they had sold my vase?

You may be asking yourself why did I wait three days to pick it up if it was so valuable, I am beating myself up for that believe me. I just somehow trusted the Good Will, I mean, it's the Good Will. I've donated for years, they are good people. Well, so I hoped.

I spoke to the manager, she said they have a policy that if it's in the back for more than three days, they have to put it back on the floor and sell it.
I was barely able to speak to her through my tears (part from my week and part from what she was saying) I asked, even if it doesn't belong to you? She said I had donated it. I had not donated it at all.
She apologized and said there was nothing she could do and hung up on me. When I called back she hung up before she had heard my voice, and I was so upset and called back until someone answered named Chris and said he was at the warehouse, and wouldn't even give me the name of anyone to call and finally he hung up too? They all knew it was not for sale that it belonged to me and unfortunately they also now knew the value of the item, and yet they sold it anyway? I am going, to be honest, I was very upset at this point and I would have probably hung up on me too, but I lost it at this point I was so frustrated and upset.
I am not going to pretend that I was this gracious person once they hung up on me 10
times.
I found the CEO for the East Bay on Linkedin, he had reassured me that they would help me, that they would either find my item or they would reimburse me for it.
The value is significant but I wanted it back, imagining just how long we had it and it's worth? this could pay for my future grandchild's education someday!?
I wanted to know what they sold it for, and allow me the opportunity to get it back, and that CEO was not the right person for the area that store was located, but he said he would reach out to that CEO and they would get back to me.
I just now returned the call to the CEO just called me and I am yesterday I called her back today and she said that there was nothing she could do she would talk to your staff and that was it?
I spoke to a CEO that is from a different area and he actually was the one who called over to this other area and said that they would be a good contact me this week in which they did, and he said they would either compensate me for that though what the vase was worth or they would try their hardest to to to locate it, when I mentioned this to this other this person Monica she said no that's the that's some other area that is not our area and there's nothing we can do?
so I am asking all of you to tell me what I should do or if I can do anything? Should I let it go should I pursue this and how? But my heart is broken and I feel so betrayed that they actually sold something that didn't belong to them and I'm also very concerned that the employees knowing what it was worth didn't actually say that they may have taken it themselves I mean I don't know what to think at this point?
I spoke toYou
For those who just want the bottom line:

Goodwill Industries return/ credit goodwill card not given correctly

I returned a broken shower head on 9/10/18 $16.55 total. It was put on a goodwill card I provided out of my wallet with 0 balance. Cashier handed me my receipt and i had to remind her to give me the card. She picked up a card laying on register and i went shopping. When ready to pay for new items the card i had had 0 balance. After proving by serial numbers that wasnt card issued i explained she grabbed wrong card then and to look on cameras. They said they did and that they see she handed me a card so therefore they cant help me. I asked to look at video and they refused. I know im right and it has to show her giving me a different card than one return was issued on. I shop there so much and was humiliated that this is happening. If someone watches the tape all the way from begging of transaction to end you will see im right. I wont let this go because I'm 100% positive she didnt give me right card. I can prove it very easily with that tape. Goodwill Lynnwood 9/10/18. Trans#[protected] time 5:18 pm reg #2. Cashier says Mathew but it was a woman cashier named JAE who did transaction because she commented on shes the one who did original transaction with shower head .

Goodwill Industries cashier charging higher prices

I went to the Visalia CA goodwill store. Outside was a sign saying all pink tagged clothes were. 99. I found two pairs of jeans and took them to the cashier. She looks at them and says I will need to pay full price of 5.99 each. I ask why and she says that if the little plastic piece that holds the tag on can fit through a hole on the tag, its full price. WHAT? First of all the tags were pink and I should of been charged the. 99 a piece price. Secondly every plastic piece fits through the Hoke on the tag. That's how it is connected to the clothes. Third, there are no signs anywhere in the store stating that full price will be charged for any reason on sale priced items. I feel like she was accusing me if switching tags by her attitude. I did not do this and I imagine as people try clothes on, the tags become a bit worn. This is an unfair business practice and it needs to be corrected. I had to pay 10 dollars more for two items that were. 99 cents because this young cashier didn't like the look of the price tag. Are you kidding me? I hope something is done about this. I'm very upset. I shop at thrift stores because I can't afford to get new clothes. I'm on disability and need every penny I get. I needed these pants and 12 bucks may not sound like much to your cashier but its alot to me and it means that's ten dollars I wont have for food now.

Goodwill Industries horrible customer service

After an employee told me I could have 24 hours to return an item and receive store credit, this was found to be untrue. I went out of my way to return an iron which I did not need, rather I needed the board, honest mistake. But because an employee told me I had 24 hours to return the item I thought I could do just that. However even after making donations to Goodwill over the years and spending hundreds of dollars, they were unwilling to do that even exchange for the iron and the board. Clearly Goodwill does not stay true to their word. Even after explaining that I was just in here the previous day and had spent money and donated two bags of clothes I did not even want a refund all I wanted was an even exchange for the six dollar purchase I had made. I will no longer be shopping with Goodwill they lost a lifelong member.
