Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems Goodman HVAC

I bought a new Goodman Air system in 2021. In 2022 I had to spend $1200 on repairs to the unit. This year in May 2023 it quit working. I had Brooks Heat and Air do an estimate on repair cost. They charged me $320 since the freon had leaked out to fill it and find the leaks. Both coils were leaking so they ordered the parts which were under warranty. It took 5 weeks before they arrived. I had to spend $2300 for the installation which the warranty didn''t cover. After the install the unit still didn't work. The compressor wouldn't work. Ordered the compressor which was going to cost me an additional $800 in labor to fix. Meanwhile I had to buy 3 window units to cool my home which cost me almost $1000. After waiting for almost three weeks for the compressor my contractor was told it was another 6 weeks out. It was also going to cost me another $400 in labor because they wanted me to go with a different compressor. So as of today if I go that route I would be into the unit $5500 for a $4000 dollar unit. This unit shoud have been totally replaced but they told my contractor they wouldn't do that. Help me out of with this ripoff situation. Also had to pay shipping for warranty parts.

Desired outcome: I think a partial refund for the labor would be appropriate. I was without air from May 2 until July 27 and because of health conditions it has been pathetic.

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems Goodman heat pump

Purchased a Goodman heat pump system 5/26/2023, had the system installed and running on 6/15/2023. The outside unit locked up after running for 9 days, not running full time but off and on. Contacted Goodman on the warranty, they will send a new compressor, no filter which needs to be changed because of compressor failure, other parts that are bad capacitor, 410 a freon, pkus the cost of having all this done. It's been over 2 weeks, still waiting on parts, it was 90 degrees in the home Friday, disabled and no place to go, they don't care!

Desired outcome: To have them make good on a system that was manufactured in February 2023

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems Heat pump package unit

Purchased two heat pumps three years ago. One unit failed in a few short months. It had to be replaced. The second unit fail recently. They replaced a compressor at a cost to me of $1200 labor. Unit still malfunctioning, now a quote of another $1200 or more to replace more parts. I asked the very rude Goodman/Daikin tech. if it would work correctly after this was all done. He reply was it should. That's $2400 dollars just from me and untold parts from Goodman/Daikin. I paid $3000 for this unit installed. Poor customer service. Don't stand behind their product.

Desired outcome: Replace unit under warranty.

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems 3 ton unit s/n's [protected], [protected], [protected]

Dispute no. 2015155 and 2025920 Original date 12/19/2021

I purchased a 3 ton a/c unit in November 2020. In April 2022 the compressor unit broke down and actually exploded the freon and had to be replaced, in November of 2022 the coil unit in the air handler failed and began leaking and no heat was being generated and had to be replaced and the the fan motor failed in December and needs to be replaced and I am still waiting for the part which they said would take 3-4 weeks to arrive. I had to pay for labor each time a unit is replaced. $1,500 for compressor, $1040 for the coil unit and another $450 for the fan motor. So in less tha 2 years I will have replaced my entire system due to faulty equipment. Also due to waiting for parts I have not been able to use my system fully for 2 months. This would definitely fall under the lemon law if it applied to a/c units. I purchased your unit with full faith in your products. This is unacceptable and most distressing to have to pay to pretty much replace my entire unit. Under these extreme circumstances I request reimbursement of the labor costs I have had to pay due to defective equipment sold to me. I spoke with over two weeks ago to express my dissatisfaction and requested to speak with her manager. She stated a person named Luke would call but it is nearly three weeks and no one has contacted me. I realize I did not have an extended warranty for labor but having to replace an entire system in two years is beyond what would be considered normal wear. I am hopeful Goodman after reviewing my claim will approve my request and help with my costs incurred.

Sincerely,

Richard T. Gargasz

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems Hvac

December 21 purchased heat pack system. Piece of garbage and Air Pro Masters that installed it is the worst. Complaints to them and the contractors board get silence. It is NOT quiet! Loudest I have ever heard, does not heat or cool to the floor. Need to turn up TV volume up to 10 points when it goes on and conversation, likewise is voices raised. So disturbing that for months my cats looked up to see what was making all the disturbing noise. Had a 10 year old Rheem before. Should have replaced with like. The average daily temp here is between 95 and 100 degrees. Runs a lot to keep livable temps in the portion of the house.

Desired outcome: Refund of purchase price so I can replace it with a better unit. Or, require a different company to do what is necessary for proper and quiet function.

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems Terrible product: air conditioning unit

I had a Goodman air conditioner installed. The company that installed it went out of business because the owner died of Covid. The unit has had issues just a few weeks after install. Goodman gave me the name of a company. I called and they were a huge rip off.

I turned my unit on this weekend after winter and all I get is warm air. I called Goodman. They said once the technician comes out the warranty will cover all parts because it is in warranty. He continued to state that if it is a compressor, they would replace the entire unit. This prompted me to ask who covers the cost to install the replaced unit since the original company closed due to the owner dying of Covid? Goodman representative said I would! So I have to pay for installation twice because their original unit is defective? I don’t think so! I’ll sue first! Do NOT BUY ANYTHING GOODMAN

I have a 3 ton HVAC unit, after two years the blower motor went out, The dealer that sold it to me is out of Business after 45 years, so dealing directly with distributor. They said it was back ordered and would take two weeks, why are parts so hard to get and take so long? These are life and death situations, but my dealer swore they were best because of warranty, but just need my parts dang it...

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems Repeated failure of control board in air handler

Purchased new Amana 2 ton, 16 seer coil, condenser, air handler and thermostat in January 2015. The control board in the air handler has failed 4 times so far and every failure was due to condensation in the unit which fouled up the control board. Every time I have asked Goodman if there were a way to coat the control board in a special silicone spray to protect it during the humid part of the year. The answer is always no. They replace the control board under warranty, but I have to pay labor for every failure and replacement. They do not appear to have any concern about the impact this has on a disabled person on a very limited income. I want a more permanent solution covered under warranty.

Desired outcome: Reimbursement of labor costs, permanent solution.

Unfortunately, coating a control board, as you suggest, would cause overheating.

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems ac unit

I am a new homeowner who had a nice HVAC guy install a brand-new Goodman system in my home (I chose Goodman). The red plastic logo on the outside unit broke off within two months so I simply contacted Goodman to ask for a replacement (it serves their needs well to have free advertising like that) and they flat-out refused after initially telling me it was being sent. What a horrible company. I shudder to think what will happen if/when the unit itself goes out. Already regretting this purchase. Should have gone with another more reputable manufacturer. BTW, this sign is being removed entirely. Nobody needs to know I have a Goodman which is a piece of garbage based on how their corporate headquarters treated me for simply asking for a replacement logo/sign.

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems warranty

Bought Goodman never again 2 burnt blower motors and now a defective evaporator coil and on top of that my installer said it's all warranted through Goodman for
10 years but now Goodman says they will not warranty the units for 10 years only 5 because a form was not filed within 90 days from install this is bull it's because they are in a class action law suite about having lot and lots of defective coils and so there trying to get out of covering there 10 year warranty on a technicality and because they know there stuff will only last for 5 year and now turning the blame on homeowners for there installing company negligence in not filing there paperwork timely by saying Oh that's the homeowners responsibility to file the warranty paperwork and if the don't we will penalize them for our defective products
Let's face it paperwork or not it should not effect the warranty if there stuff was built rite from the beginning and they felt a 10 year warranty was proper then filing a form should not matter it does not change the MFG date or the install date or the way they make there products
They have not heard the last from me this is just a start
Buy Trane not Goodman and save your self lots of headaches dealing with Goodman's customers service is a joke just a headache
I'm not asking for labor charges or the 10 lbs of Freon that was lost do to there defective coils just to stand behind there 10 year policy and provide the parts to replace there known bad inferior parts for the10 year period they promised
If your looking for Hvac work do your home work ck out the net for all the people having issues with Goodman then buy something else more reliable like American Standard or Trane I wish I did.

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems goodman furnace gmh950703bx, serial no: [protected]

Our HVAC tech suggest we buy a Goodman furnace when we built our house in 2014. We moved in the new home after construction in 2015. Within a year we started having problems with the Furnace.

First we had issues with the Circuit Board which was replaced, then we have the heat exchanger problem which was replaced and now the Blower does not work. It seems the unit I got is made from left over or damaged parts.

I've called the houston office and the Toronto office and they expect me to keep paying for labour when ever one of the parts fail. you would expect a good quality product that would last atleast 4-5 years without any issues. I would understand it it were some small parts failing but its the major parts.

I've asked them to replace the unit and they will not do that.

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems HVAC - heating and air conditioning

I own 2 homes, both have Goodman heat pumps and air handlers installed in 2007. I am have the exact same problem with both units. Every 2 years I have to pay someone to come re-fill the R-22 refrigerant because about 2-3lbs. is leaked out due to their faulty evaporator coils. I have hired multiple companies for different quotes and each time they come out it's always the same story, "I have a leak, and it would be more expensive to try to find the leak than to re-fill the refrigerant every time."
So, I've been doing this every year now on both homes and each time it's anywhere from $200 - $400 for them to re-fill. So infurriating this started happening only a couple of years after i bought my house. I was excecting the HVAC to last at least 5-6 years without a problem, but Goodman is SO TERRIBLE that their units fall apart. I now have another problem with the bottom of my air handler is rusting out and water is dripping into the emergency pan instead of flowing out the condensate line. I called their customer service line and they were absolutely no help and just wanted to get me off the phone.
This company shouldn't be in business and i'm praying the current class action lawsuit works out for ALL of us who've been sabotaged by this horrible company.

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems Bad Product

Gilmore Heating n Air in Placerville Ca.(Goodman was the manufacturer) were told at the time it was the "top of the line energy efficient unit (like a Mercedes is next to a Kia)." Right from the get go when it was installed we had problems it would not work so Gilmore the seller bought us a cord of wood to keep us warm because we had no heat other than our fireplace. Finally after many service calls they found out that the manufacturer had installed a valve/piston in backwards. From then on all we have had is problems with the unit either the heat didn't work or the a/c didn't cool it has been a constant headache just enough to nickel dime you to death but then on 6/30/2015 the a/c went out again. Since then we have had 3 different tech out.We have been told now that we need to have our compressor and condenser replaced @ the total of $3, 000. We bought this in good faith that this unit would last us much longer than what it has being we are both retired. We have the documentation on this fiasco they call top of the line. Amana/Goodman n they just say well the warranty is up but how can a reputable company say that when all we have endured with this unit is on going problems from day one! Beware of Goodman they do not n will NOT STAND behind their product once you have purchased their mrechandise they will turn their back on you. This unit was not any good from the start n what did they do anything they could to hold on to the money we had already given them. They are about the almighty dollar nothing more nothing less. This company is not reputable or responsible for their units. They are a big company feel as though we are the little guy we dont matter--- they sell lemons n we must eat them as they ignore the customer in hopes we go away. There should be a lemon law as these units are by far not cheap n they should have to give more then a 5 yr warranty on their garbage they sell.

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems World's worst heat pump

This heat pump was installed when my new house was built in
May 2010. In January 2011 it required
piston replacement when it stopped heating the home. Then in June 2012 it required a replacement
of the indoor evaporator coil when it stopped producing A/C. Then in June 2014 it required replacement of
the outdoor evaporator coil when it stopped producing A/C. So in the first 4 years, it has required 3
major repairs. Sure, Goodman provides a
5-year warranty on all parts. But my
most recent repair still cost over $1, 000 for the labor and refrigerant. (The refrigerant is NOT included in the
warranty, and that alone cost more than $600 this time.) I complained to Goodman, who told me I should
have paid for the additional labor warranty as well. I suppose if you insist on buying a Goodman
heat pump, then I would recommend the full labor warranty. But any person with half a brain should
simply choose a heat pump from a company that is NOT widely recognized as the
worst in the business (seriously, check any 3rd party review site). I will never be a Goodman customer again.

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems Can I get my money back?

I bought satellite direct on my computer from goodmanmfg.com and they said I would not have to pay any more money for the things they advertised including films. When I tried to get some films on their product I was asked to buy one or two years subscription. I only had this for my wife for films. The advertisement is misleading. I did not subscribe for the films. Can I get my money back?

I replaced my AC and heater unit 8 Aug 2012. When it started getting cold (30 Sep 12) I tried turning my heater on and it did not work. I contacted the contractor and he came the next day and fixed it. On 7 Oct 12, when I woke up, I noticed that he house was cold. I check the heater and noticed that it was not working. I contacted the contractor again and he told me that he could not come because he was installing a unit in West Virginia. After been cold all day, I contacted another Goodman’s certified repairman to come fix the heater the following day (8 Oct 12). The repairman checked the heater out and said that the Gas Valve in the heater was bad and needed replacing. He charged me $69 for the visit and quoted me a labor charge of $225 to install another Gas Valve; the quoted price was for labor only, the parts was under warrantee. He suggested that I contact the installer and have him replace the valve free of charge. I again contacted the contractor who came the same day (8 Oct 12). He checked the heater and came up with the same diagnoses that the gas valve was not working. The following day (9 Oct 12), I had to contact the installer and remind him to order the gas valve. He then text me three times requesting my last name, the model and serial number and later to inform me that he had to come to the house and remove and take the defective gas valve with him. On (10 Oct 12) I again contacted the contractor who informed me that it will take 2 days to get the parts. Concerns – I have 7 other relatives living with me; 4 are children, the youngest is 7 months old, two are 3 years old and the other is 4 years old. I have been using the oven and a gas fireplace to keep part of the house warm. I am concern about my gas and electric bill. I went out and bought 2 space heaters to keep the basement comfortable which is where the 4 children and their mother sleeps. Who is responsible for the cost of the repairs? What action can be taken for reimbursement on my gas & electric bill? This problem is due to faulty manufacturing part on the heater, Request reimburse for the cost incurred of keeping my family warm.- Request payment of my gas and electric bill (unknown at this time) estimated $500 – $700). I attribute the full cost to pain, suffering and inconvenience to family.- I would like to be reimburse for the cost of 2 space heaters ($150).- I would like Gooman to pay (the contractor) cost for the repair of the heater (unknown at this time). Also the d $69 listed above. On 20 Oct 2012; the heater was finally fixed. The contractor contacted 2 other contract company to come work on the heater and M.E. FLOW INC., finally got it working.

10/29/2012 – I just wanted to add that it seems my heater is inoperative again. I woke up this morning to a cold house, I tried starting the heater at the thermostat and it did not start. I contacted the contractor again, who is sending someone today to take a look at it. So, here I am again with this problem AGAIN!.

The contractor (Ramon Trejo) sent a repairman from M.E. FLOW INC., Alexandria VA 22306, to come work on the heater. About an hour later, he came and informed me that the heater is currently working, however, he had to rig the molex plug that connects the motherboard to the gas valve in order to make the unit work. He said that both the molex plug and the gas valve will need to be replaced and the fix is just a temporary fix and did not know how long it will hold. I informed him that the gas valve was replaced 2 weeks ago.

For a brand new unit, the reliability and poor workmanship of this heater is totally unacceptable; compounded with 40 and 50 degree weather outside. I have my 4 grandchildren living with me, ages 8 months, 3 and 4 years old; I also have my 3 daughters living with me. I had a heater in my house that was not giving me any problems. Since I was having AC problem, I decided to upgrade to a better more efficient AC and heating system. This heating system has been everything but reliable. This is the 3rd time since it’s installation in August that I have had to call the contractor for repair of the heater. Is this an idea of what I can expect in the future or is the manufacture of this inferior unit going to take the responsibility and have it replaced at their expense? How much more hardship can I expect?

10/30/2012 – THE TEMPORARY FIX FOR THE HEATER DID NOT WORK FOR LONG… THE HEATER IS NOT WORKING AGAIN ! ! !

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems Unreliable product

We purchased a new home in September of 2006. Contractor who built the home had a Goodman Heat Pump 13 seer installed. We are three years into owning the home. The A coil in the air exchanger started leaking a pound and a half of freon per month. Warranty covered part but not the $500 labor to install on 10-2-09. Now we turned the heat on today for the first time and the entire condensing unit froze up from the back of the lines all the way into the a coil. Children are sick, daughter has pneumonia. Called Goodman and told them about my frustration with the quality of their unit. They literally did not care about me having sick kids with no heat in 40 degree weather. They showed no interest in replacing the unit. They claimed the distributor, not the HVAC contractor would have to "certify" that the unit could not be repaired. Goodman stinks. Their warranty stinks. Their attitude stinks. The quality of their product stinks. The licensed repairman said he fixes more Goodmans than any other brand. Goodman is junk. Avoid Goodman and Amana who they bought at all costs or you will have HUGE COSTS!

You should have the unit replaced if needed. Call another contractor and ask about warranty. Most major repairs are covered within the first 5 years. Get a third party opinion.

Goodman Air Conditioning And Heating Systems Lemon product

This company should be investigate for their products. More and more contractors are installing this product because of its lack of quality and ensuing additional charges they are able to charge. My units units are less than 5 years old. Have lost 2 compressors, several boards, and leaking coil. I tried to contact the contractor (Prentis Alsup) he wouldn't extend the warranty and said they were not going to sell the product anymore. Tried through Goodman, followed their requested process and never heard a word back. Called them again and was told to get lost. If someone knows about a class action suit, I would like to know about it. LEMON LAW?

We too have a LEMON Amana product, or should say, HAD as it went to the landfill yesterday. Amana Heatpump, started breaking down at two years with coil leaking and had to be replaced, compressor went out and replaced, contactor and wires burned, had electrical issues and never knew when it would run or wouldn't run. No help at all from Goodman's. Basically told me to get lost. Local dealer was ready to throw up his hands and quit servicing it, as he couldn't find the problem. Tech Rep was supposed to come and go throught the whole unit. He won't return calls, emails, or make an appointment. Believe me, we are bad-mouthing this piece of junk everywhere we can. Happy day yesterday when the crane took it off the roof and replaced it with a beautiful RHEEM. Should have bought this in the first place. THIS AMANA JUNK WAS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD WHEN WE REPLACED IT!

I'm a licensed HVAC contractor in the Houston area who occasionally sells
Goodman equipment and I can honestly say that Goodman is just as Good as any other brand, they use the exact same compressor as Carrier, Rheem or Trane, same for all the other misc parts such as fan motors, capacitors, relays ect.. ect.. are all the same and are usually made in China or Mexico.
the key to a long lasting HVAC system is having it installed by someone who knows what they're doing then having it serviced atleast once a year in the spring and preferably once in the fall to.
