My car was reposed on Monday, to find information out about this it takes at least a 1/2-1 hour to get through on the lines, the people are very rude. I never had this happen before, recently going through a hard time and ended up be 3 months late by 3 days. Now to get the truck back I have to pay the remaining balance on the truck. I feel like they are not willing to help or work with the customers, if it is a constant habit I understand but this is just recent for me. I will never purchase a chewy vehicle again or get finances through GMAC as they don't want to listen to the customer only want the money.

GMAC has been calling my house for six months looking for someone that has the same name as my wife. Apparently this other ### doesn't pay her bills and I'm supposed to pay them for her because my wife and her share the same name. They have assured us at least ten times that we are on a do not call list only to be called again within a week. We have received over a hundred calls from this company. I have looked into filing charges but it's a crappy process and nothing happens. It's not like they have to pay me for my time or anything. I want to know if there is anyone else out there that they have screwed with. Maybe a large lawsuit?
I was born here and I work here making American products but I'll never ever buy a GM car because of this crap. I am even thinking of buying a rice burner.

GMAC sent my house for foreclosure. I find this out by rec'ing a certified letter out of the blue from their attorneys office. I called GMAC to find out what the problem was, they told me that I had not paid any mortgage payments since April of 07, and it was now Sept 07. I had been paying electronic checks to GMAC. After calling GMAC many times to get the straighten out, and getting rude customer service and litigation employees on the phone I had to retain an attorney of my own. GMAC now has found my payments but now states I have not been current since April of 07. Their customer service is horrible, this litigaion department has treated me like a criminal and my attorney is still trying to get this straighten out. Now GMAC wants me to settle so I pay their attorney fees...I do not think so...they can not keep any of their records straight and anyone who has a problem like this with them, I wish to join forces here, this is unreal...

To whom it concerns,
What a joke because really no one at GMAC actually gives a damn how they are treating Americans, so really it is a big joke and waste of my time. I am not sure why I am writing this letter, because god knows it will not help or make a difference. Apparently whoever heads up the mortgage department does not care about customer service, nor can they read. If they could read, they would see that GMAC has hurt so many hard working, struggling American families with their horrible ethical practices. After the American government bailed GMAC out of their financial struggles, this is how we are repaid.
Having my home foreclosed has been one of the worst feeling I have ever had. GMAC has caused my family and so many others to be forced from their homes, without even a second thought. Oh GMAC says they try, but do they really, honestly does anyone really review each case, no because if they did, no one who has an ounce of humanity would cause this much destruction. All I hear is how they don’t want our home, why would they it is worth $50, 000 less than we owe. But yet here I am with an income of $6, 800 and two stable incomes (a Master’s prepared nurse and a teacher) dealing with the loss of our home, the home we build and were so proud of. At 27 years old, my husband and I were living the American dream. We grew up poor, worked our way through college, and now we have a home, or we did have a home. I do not even want to hear how you give a damn, because it is just a paper signing mill, and everyone knows that. Just open your internet browser and type in GMAC Complaints and wow it is amazing thousands of complaints posted about how horrible GMAC has treated them in this time of need. Most of the complaints are all the same based on hard working American losing their homes, because GMAC lied to them, and was not willing to help. My heart goes out to so many American hurt by GMAC’s dishonest, deceitful, falsehearted, fraudulent and pathetic practices.
This is why so many states are in the process of investigating the illegal practice of foreclosure mills. I do believe that in the future GMAC will get everything that is coming to them and they will pay for what they have done to hurt America. Processing this high number of foreclosures and causing families that are hard working to lose their homes will come back and hurt GMAC. The economy will never recover if you do not change how you treat Americans. I would assume that whoever is the head of GMAC Mortgage department knows that the economy is struggling and families are losing their homes due to financial struggles, but they are just enjoying their big bailouts and fancy house, while American are hurting so bad.
I was just like so many families, I got behind on my mortgage, I was trying to help my struggling family remain in their home. I then became behind on my mortgage and that was it. We got behind in September and GMAC never gave us the help we needed to stay in our home. How can you sleep at night, knowing the nightmare you have caused tens of thousands of Americans. I work as a nurse and my husband is Teacher. I save lives every day at work and my husband influences the lives of our youth. I have put myself through graduate school and Nurse Practitioner school to better myself and the world, but what world am I bettering, the one where GMAC the company who represents American causes such harm and sadness to so many.
As fellow American’s how can you do this to people that are hard working and just fell behind for two months. A series of failed loan modifications, poor customer service, and just plain horrible misconduct and our home is gone just like that. Now we are back on track, we have two incomes and two stable great paying jobs, but it was too late for us. Our home is gone, gone, gone and I cry everyday at how stupid I was to allow this to happen, I am a nurse with a master’s degree, wow what is wrong with me. I am sure each and every one of you has been sick and helped by a nurse, and now when I need help, this is how I am repaid. It is disgusting to me how an American company can do this when we are in the worst economical downturn ever, with no end in sight. Removing families from their homes will only harm the economy more, why, why, can GMAC not see this.
I know this letter was a pointless waste of my time, but it helps a little to write about it. I have spent probably 60 hours researching how to get help and all I find are like stories below about the pain caused by GMAC. Below are just a few of the stories I found:

GMAC Mortgage is incompetent and unethical! GMAC's customer service was appalling, to say the least, and I was treated like a delinquent customer, and I've never been late on any mortgage payments. Instead, I incurred extensive damage to my home after hurricane Gustav on 9/1/08, received the insurance funds immediately, and have been struggling with GMAC to release the funds ever since
GMAC Mortgage is unethical. And our government gave them our tax dollars so we can pay GMAC Mortgage to lie to us. However, with all the noise I've been making and after filing a complaint with my Attorney General's office, the Office Of Financial Institutions, the Better Business Bureau, and others, I now have contact information for real, live people that are not customer service reps.
GMAC is the worst of the 8 different loan co. I've had. Their different depts. don't seem to communicate between them. It's taken months for them to fix my acct. as per closing statement in my loan docs and4mnts in acct. is still not right! When you call, long long wait times to talk to people who are hard to understand and English is not a first language. Really bad service!
I hate GMAC Mortgage with a passion!

I refinanced my home with them in 2003. Locked in a rate, and I should have seen it coming when I began the process with Them in Nov 2002, and didn't close till June 2003. At the time my refi amount was slightly over 80% like 83% of my appraisal so I was informed I needed PMI.

H MY GOSH is what I have to say about the complaints I am reading. I thought I was the only one going through a HUGE nightmare with GMAC. They have the worst customer service in the world. Each department doesn't handle whatever it is you need to know, they tell you to contact "such and such" that they handle my account. I get transfered, and guess what ? They tell me the SAME thing, they don't handle my account I need to talk to "so and so". Okay long sorry short.

THEY SUCK and need to be stopped. Every person I have spoke to has worked there a few weeks or less, they have a big turn around it seems. And the Philipine's? I don't believe they were even trained. I think they have all our numbers and names, randomly call and repeat themselves.
GMAC is the single worst provider of customer service on the planet. Even more so than the phone or cable company. I just received a refund for an escrow "overpayment." I did the math and saw they are wrong so I called them. I have been on the phone for hours.
GMAC customer service is the worst in the world. I just called trying to get my attorney authorized to get info on my account, ironically to get funds paid toward my principle they are holding in escrow from my closing last year. I talked with a guy named Jeff who was a rude, obnoxious JERK. He kept telling me it couldn't be done due to policy, I asked for a supervisor more than a few times & he told me even if I talked to a supervisor it would not change the policy.
I have to agree with the statement that GMAC customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with.
Hello, I have been a GMAC customer for many years. I was recently 2 moths behind on my mortgage and was sent a letter to warn of foreclosure six days later I was foreclosed on. My home has good equity. GMAC is totally unethical and is responsible for the mess our economy is i today. There latest service to the citizens of the United States is to look for loans on homes with equity and rush them through to foreclosure. They know they will either get a valuable asset or get you to pay massive fees. GMAC is an american company that is causing more financial damage to america than any terrorist group on earth.

100 percent true exactly they said I have no problems then mic was servicing loan for gmac I didnt know, the VA loan was screwd up for me and my family because of the lies and the thing is if you cant trust them then who can we trust now, my lawyer said unless you have tens of thousands of dollars back in 2010 and 11 there is nothing we can do, i was sold out by mic that a loan mod would have to be 4 months behind before it was eligible, they wonder why men go postal when its 25 days till christmas and your wife had a stroke, a new baby and you have the money to do check by fone to catch up loan and they refuse to take the money and lied about being ok not a risk yet for foreclosure then, it takes along time to process and another company green planet comes along and starts black balling my credit by assuming iam going to pay them to refi when its already forclosed and I have had the letter a year now my credit has what looks to be 2 forclosures due to predatory snakes trying to make money on bad servicing companys for fanny mae and gmac and all the works is shot to hell with lies and misfortunes we lost everything almost SGT John Powell Calhoun. 807 Big Pine R.d. I have the same problem with GMAC. We fell behind 2 months due to unemployment and were instructed by GMAC to do a loan modification, but after 4 failed attempts and 4 denials, despite having new stable good paying jobs, it was too late and our sale date was in 5 days. It was my fault for not doing enough research before it was too late, I know now what I could have done differently, but now we have officially lost our home and GMAC turned it over to HUD. All I ever hear about is how they want us to stay in our homes, but obviously they don't. I just kept trusting the GMAC was really trying to help us save our home so I kept trying to work with them and now I lost my home.

Welcome to the global economy!

To add insult to injury, we're spending billions of dollars/week overseas tearing up other countries. We weren't even invited! Yet there is a faction of ideology in the US that's fighting to kill medicare because we can't afford it! I just can't imagine where all that money went.

GMAC is (was) the American car making giant.

What I really can't believe, you're (our) financial and personal information is being accessed outside the US! It's just not GMAC! These companies (financial institutions) are using us (their customers) as unwilling participants so these outsourced service centers can practice their English!

How can you be "sitting here stranded in the desert" and yet have the ability to contact GMAC and send this complaint?

I have the same problem. They keep calling my husbands phone and I never gave it to them. I have given them the correct phone number numerous times and I would have been better off talking to the wall. I HATE GMAC. I will never do business with them ever again.

Did you indeed pay off you loan or did you make your last scheduled payment? There is a difference.

Simple interest financing is probably the type of loan you have. The payments are structured for you to make each one on or before the due date. It you are late (even 1 day) get extensions/deferments, this will result in extra interest and a balloon payment at the end. If you have a really high interest rate, it will be even worse.

Ask for a statement of you account. This will show how your money was applied.

Read what you have written. Wow some people should just not own homes. People do not just hang up. Im sure you left a few things out, like yelling or cussing at them ? I thought so. I do not feel sorrow for stupid people. Read your loan docs next time and if you can not read them hire a lawyer. We all know you will once you feel you got so called ripped off .

Going through a similar situation. GMAC took our Oct. lease payment, but we were told they didn't get it, our statement showed that it was paid, and another rep said it was returned to us when in fact they sent it to an institution we don't have an account with. Because of this they called to say we were three months behind and needed to catch up or they would repo. They wouldn't take payment by phone, and locked out our on-line account, so we were told to send a MoneyGram which they also refused to accept! We sent a check by second day mail on Saturday, January 2 and called to tell them it was done. They repossessed the car on Sunday, January 3 at 9:00PM! When we called to see what was going on and find out what to do we got a HUGE run around and were told outright lies, as well as being told that they received the check on the 4th and had not cashed it as of the 6th, the day our January payment was coming due. Now they are telling us we owe four months, not just December and the new January charge, and that it is up to us to find out where the money sent to Chase Bank ended up! This company is totally fraudulent and needs to be investigated and people need to be given restitution for there practices.

A collection agency may not communicate with anyone about your debt besides you, your attorney, a credit agency, the creditor or the creditor's attorney.

A collection agency may only contact other people to find out where you live, what your phone number is, and where you work. They may not mention that you owe any debt. They are prohibited from contacting such third parties more than once. Debt collectors may not communicate by post card, and they may not use any language or symbol on a mailing to indicate that the communication relates to the collection of a debt.

Yes! This is happening to me right now. They call up to 12 times per day starting at 7 am and ending at 10pm. I hate these SOBs so much. I finally got through to someone today who told me that they could not remove my number from their system unless I give them my social security number. WTF? Obviously I refused and asked for a supervisor who told me the same thing. After I said no again and reminded him that I have never owned a car in my life as I live in NYC and DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT with them. He finally agreed to put me on the do not call list. Four hours later I got another call. *#&@!^%

My wife had a 05 Cobalt that was a leased car and was due to go back Sept 11 2009.
She had many problems with the car and turned it in on the Lemon Law and got a settelment of around 6 grand.
Se was going to keep the car till the lease ran out Sept 11 2009 ut was late 14 days on her Last payment about 2 weeks ago and they came and repoed the thing today.
So now there going to screw her and she made arrangements 2 weeks ago to pay the payment on this comeing up Thursday.
By Indiana law they must destroy the car anyway because it is a Official lemon.
We even looked it up on Carfax and it sais it is a lemon.
GMAC is horrible to work with anyway and they do not care about anyone, just the money.
The thing is we are not worried about the Cobalt anyway because my wife had another car that I picked up for her 5 months ago to drive after her lease was up.
It just would have been nice if the sneekie [censored]ing repo people that got it would have let us her her lice plate off it.
But GMAC can burn in hell for all I care.
GM has gone down the tubes anyway and hopefully will be out of business soon.

My husband did lease a truck, lease was up, returned vehicle two months ago to original dealer. I am now receiving phone calls from GMAC asking for my husband who has just been deployed to Iraq. Different individuals will call leave message if I don't answer. When I do answer the phone they will not discuss the matter with me. Different individuals keep calling Ms. Campbell, Ms. Green, then several others who don't leave their name. I know these people do not communicate between depts. You would think once they enter the account # and name the matter would be settled, I guess that's to much like right.

I've heard 3 words that can be very helpful are " Produce the Note". I don't know the time frame for making the demand. If its not to late it can buy you some time. Because of the volume of mortgages being traded they usually don't have a clue as to where to look, yet they must comply with your request before they can proceed. Good luck!

To Whom it may Concern,
In June of 2008, we purchased a 2006 Trail blazer. In August My son had a blow-out. Called Roadside and had it fixed. Then the transmition went out. Had it towed to Wright Automotive Route 51, Beaver PA [protected]
They told us that the transmition went out because of abuse and that it would not be covered by the warrenty.
When asked how they knew it was abuse they said they checked it out.
They wanted to put in a new transmition cost $3000.00
When asked why can't rebuild it. They don't have anyone who could rebuild it. They could get me a used one out of a junkyard for $2000.00.
I took to someone I trusted who rebuild it for $2300.00.
Also, said it wsa not abuse, the torque converter went bad and it was not abuse!
What am I to do about this?

I agree with the complaints that everyone has about GMAC (except for the guy who didn't know how much interest he would be charged; you agree to an interest rate at the dealership. so that's your own fault). I have first hand knowledge of how incompetent GMAC is. I worked for them for two and a half years until I was laid off. (They shipped our jobs overseas.) Do not do business with GMAC. There is only one customer service office left in the United States, and that won't be for long. Almost all of your accounts are being handled by people who can barely speak English. They do their best, but they make so many mistakes. I saw their mistakes first hand, and unfortunately, it's the customers who pay for their mistakes. If you have an existing loan with GMAC, I urge you to refinance with a local bank or credit union. If you can't do that, DO NOT CALL GMAC CUSTOMER SERVICE. That's the biggest mistake you can make because your account will be messed up once someone touches it.

This company needs to be shown and taught that they CANNOT treat us this way. Not only that but it's about time we all stood up for ourselves and saught help in addition to getting our lives back to the way they were.

I have GMAC for both Mortgage AND they are the Lender for my two vehicles. How lucky can I get, YA RIGHT!
LONG story cut Really short and to the point.

I WAS not late on my payments for the cars, they illegally repossed BOTH vehicles in the night on Sept. 11th, 2007. What a date to pick, I'm so disturbed by everything. I got the run around for months, I was promised my cars back 9 different times and THE pink slip, they ADMITTED that they were in breach of contract. I kept calling, receiving empty promies, week after week I was calling, didn't know where my cars were and they would tell me. Wen they first repossed the cars, I was told to pay 6k by wire to them or they would sell my cars. I got scared and sent it. Mortgage becomes due and guess what? One of the vehichles Illegally Stolen/ repo d was my husbands WORK truck, he is a Florring contractor and that truck was everything. No work for him means, him, myself and 4 yr old are to live off of my SSD, 900 a month, YA right! I call mortgage, they give the SAME crap. Ill pass months, I borrowed money to pay the mortgage, they refused my payments, kept saying they would call me with a payment plan. Never happened. A few weeks ago, the new owers or so called people who supposidly bough my house WITH OUT me even knowing about it, without ANY notification at all from Gmac they sold my house at the auction. The people put a freaking 3 day evection notice on my door. Feels like a dream. These people were snooping around the outside of the house, in the backyard. They had an attorney write and threaten me to leave. But at the SAME time I am still waiting to make the payment plan GMAC promised, I just recieved a few letters from GMAC like nothing is wrong, asking about my insurance, Making sure I am insured till next year, etc. Oh so 2 weeks ago I recieve notice from them that they sold my SUV at an auction. today I got a letter that the other truck was sold and I owe on this one almost 9k they claim. All our personal items giving to goodwill. car seats, eveything. I feel like I am in a dream, well more like a nightmare. Oh and another thing BOTH vehicles were already released to me, GMAC sent the releases to the place where my cars were to release to me and only me. So the release were stillin my name, and they sold my cars? Ya, they are out of it big time. Please email me, there's more but I want to hear you story, anyone out there.. PLEASE we NEED to be comfortable again. Lets talk!

Thanks to everyone for reading! LOL

Can someone please tell me why it takes other cars companies, only hours to release a car, and GMAC seems to take days. I am well past the 72 hours they told me it would take. I sent them the money Western Union, called them and gave them the # from Western Union, I gave them my insurance company name and policy #. Which they verfied that day.

Now I have to wait for them to call me, it makes no sense. When the repo company calls you asking if you've heard anything it makes you wonder what the hell is going on w/GMAC.

Can anyone give a complaint # where I can at least call to complain? The agents they have are beyond ignorant, and have no customer service skills what so ever. So if anyone has a number I could call I would ever be so greatful

My car was repossessed by GMAC on the 16th of December. I called the following Monday, the 17th, and was told to wait 24 hrs for a quote. I called Tuesday and was told to call back later in the afternoon. I got a quote. I Western Union'ed the money to them on the 20th for what they quoted, I was told there was nothing I could do until I received a redemption code. I waited 48 hours until the following Monday. I called at noon and was told since I did not call them back with payment information on Thursday I owed an additional $81.00 and it would be again 48 hours until I receive my redemption code. On Thursday I called and was told my car was in auction in Houston, I live in Austin (250 miles away). They have full payment for what was owed on my car plus all the fees. Still, they have not given me the redemption code. It is now 72 hours and I'm told that there could be additional fees for the garage in Houston. This is a crime.
I finally received a call at 4:50pm on Friday the 28th saying I can pick my car up in Houston at an auction that is closed for the next 5 days. I cannot even call them. Oh, but first I must locate my license plates that they removed before they towed it across the state. I have missed an important doctors appointment due to this car loss. I know there must be a crime in this scenario somewhere. I was in the last year of my car payments (5 year plan) and owed very little; so they do apply more pressure, as it is more profitable to nab your car and make it impossible to get back. I believe this a form of extortion. How do I travel 250 miles to a city all the way across Texas to pick up my car, when I do not have my car?

We are currently having a similar problems with GMAC and my husband has hit a brick wall and doesn't know where else to turn but to a lawyer. Why should we have to go through this and pay for their mistakes. I don't understand and there should be someway for us and anyone else going through this to get out of it. We pay our bills on time and shouldn't be disrespected like this. WHAT CAN WE DO?!?!

GMAC Blows... snuff said.

The True-Pay scam makes me want to file a class action lawsuit against them.

I can pay my MORTGAGE (over 3,000/mo) with NO FEES. But I have to pay $10 every time I want to make a $375 car payment on the phone?

F-THEM

LAST car I will EVER buy from their company. EVER.

I am going through a very similar situation. I was past due only 60 days after 3 years of perfect payments. They took the car without any notice and when I called them the following day I was told I had to wait an additional day in order to receive any information on it. When I called back I was told if I paid the past due by Western Union I could get the car back. I paid the entire past due plus charges and then was told to wait 72 hours for release. I called back after 72 hours and then was told that I was mis informed the first time and would not be able to get my car back unless I paid the entire balance due plus fees. This has been a mind blowing experience for me and has changed my views on General Motors completely. I know that in the future I will not buy another General Motors vehicle. I will not be upset if they do go bankrupt as I can see how such an non-customer orientated company would. Buyers Beware of GMAC financing! Its not worth it if you ever have a financial hardship in life. They will not work with you or care. In their language GMAC is right, customer is wrong.

I have been ahead more than late on payments to gmac in 3 years, I also have a car through a subsidiary of gmac and I just figured out why i'm fine with the car payment and not gmac. I can pay nuvelle directly but have to go through true pay to pay gmac so they said they never talked to me, of course not, I had to go through someone else to pay them so they didn't care to talk to me plus it was an $8 charge every time I made a payment. i'm sure over 3 years that charge would equal another payment. I was 89 days late, it's a chevy silverado and they wanted it. I know someone who hasn't paid a payment to gmac in two years and they haven't picked up the vehicle yet or attempted to, why? because he owes too much on it, ours was a low interest loan and was in their best interest to keep the truck. one time before I was late 30 days in 3 years one time and they said I have a terrible payment history? I paid $800 or $1000 instead of the regular payment often but that doesn't seem to show up? yeah right. I can pay 3-4 payments and they won't even talk to me the supervisor is constantly away from their desk. when did the customer go from being right to being wrong to being dog meat?

Not my real name above but feel free to email me. especially if you know a number where I can call and get this resolved. they don't want to hear I am disputing it. won't even let me dispute it which is against the law I believe?
