Globalinx Don't give there people your bank info

I had 2 services with these people the videophone which in and of itself is a joke. didn't use the junk not one time and when i called to cancel the service after giving them over forty dollars for seven months I was to be charged a service fee off $99, well guess what they stole $207.42 out of my account and when i called them they said that all they owed me back was $40 and well guess what it has yet to hit my account. I was an independent rep for them and i'm so glad I saw the light before I dared sold another service. You will not get rich from this. the most important thing to them is getting you to recruit people to get their $500 to join. Do not get this service

Globalinx Scam

I signed up with Globalinx because a family member assured me that it was a less expensive service. Let me tell you, it is true what they say, you get what you pay for and the less you pay, the worse service you get. In which case, you wound up paying more because essentially, you are paying for nothing and that it what I did, pay for nothing. On the first day I got the box in my mail, I tried to connect it and use it... it did not work! I called up Globalinx to ask them why it was not working, they proceeded to tell me that I had to fax a letter to them giving them permission to port my number from current phone company. I was in the process of moving so I was not able to do this, plus I had no fax machine and just didn't have to time to go and find one. Any way, they told me no problem, that as soon as I got my self situated at my new residence, I could call them back once I had faxed them permission to port and then they would start my service. It took me almost 3 months to move and in the meantime, they were billing me although I was still with Att phone company and was using the same number that Globalinx was billing me for.

I then called Globalinx to find out why was this happening, they wound up giving me a credit for two months worth of service. I asked them, how it was that they could bill me when they told me that I was not with them until I had given them permission to port over my number. The operators response was, "We should have received permission from you to port if we are billing you" Right away, eyebrow goes up! I'm thinking, what is she talking about, I never gave the permission to port over my number so I should have not been billed at all. I proceeded to ask her was the phone service connected, she said yes it was. So, I plugged my phone up with the box just as she had told me to do and still, my home phone was not working. I sat on the phone with a tech person trying to trouble shoot the problem, the tech lady took over my computer and everything, we were on the phone for a hour in a half, still, phone never got to working. I told the lady look, I need for you to cancel this phone service, I have a family daycare to run and I just don't have the time and effort to offer to this problem. She connected me to someone else for that part for which they kept me on hold for a good 20 minutes. I requested that they discontinue the service and they did. Next thing I know I am still getting billed that following month. Now, if they really gave me a credit for 2 months and closing out my account out was an over site on their behalf, why did they send me a bill the following month? Come to find out, they kept billing me for up to 240 dollars for which I am fighting to try and get back. Not one day did I have the service and I got billed 230 dollars for nothing. Globalinx told me straight out that they were not going to refund me my money.

Globalinx Rip off

-dragging out the porting procedures so that they can continue to bill you for the temporary number, while you're still being billed by your current telephone service provider (by the way - that's illegal). Globalinx may tell you that that their having issues with porting your, or don't know where your number is in the process; but, just threaten to cancel - globalinx will have it completed the next day.

-charging your debit/credit card all kinds of ridiculous amounts of money and charging of your card after you've canceled their service.

- ridiculous hold times when speaking with customer service - if you're pissed - you'll be put on hold at least 2 times for about 5 min each when talking with Globalinx - a strategy they use to get you to hang up.

- sucky telephone service, all scratcy and static ridden

- lies, lies, lies - make sure that you get everything they tell you in writing, or they'll try to play you like a chicken.

- the list goes on, and on, and on.

Life is too short - nobody needs this kind of aggrivation from a company that you're paying your hard earned money too on a regular basis.

Our relationship with Globalinx lasted barely 3 months; just say no - even if you're trying to help out a friend.

Globalinx Unauthorized charges

Globalinx was supposed to port my number from Vonage to Globalinx. They sent me the phone adapter, which I had to pay for, and never ported my number. I never took the phone adapter out of the box, and continue to use Vonage while I waited for them to port my number.

They never ported my number, but charged me $35 a month for a service that I never used. Every month I would receive an email invoice saying that my balance was $0.00, so I thought they weren't charging me until they ported over my service. When I checked my bank account I realized they were charging me. I called to request credit for the months that they charged me for, but I didn't utilize their service, and they refused to give me credit. I asked them to cancel the service and they charged me an early cancellation fee of $99.

I filed a report with the Better Business Bureau to no avail. I am left paying for a service that I did not receive. I never placed one call or received one call on their network. This company is a ripoff. Do not utilized any services from Globalinx or 5linx. I never had a problem with Vonage.

I find merit in the complaint. Globalinx services are devoid of the fine service expected of a phone company. In my experience, I observed that in a number of instances, the line would suddenly turn off and you have to reboot it again. That may seem to be a minor problem but what if you need to use the phone for emergency purposes?! Do you mean to say, you have to wait for minutes, before you can deal with the situation? For only a span of three months, i had it already rebooted for about 15x!. Moreover, i find it difficult to talk to any representative. I tried to call them a couple of times and it took me an average of 30 min every call before their representative would answer.Lastly, they always charged ahead of the service. In fact, before i had it delivered to me, they already billed me with the monthly charge! Service is really BAD!

It is a rip off. I canceled my service 2 months ago and they still charge me 45 dollars every month and I already paid 100 for the cancelation fee. I haven't even use that thing!
As of right now, I'm trying to find a lawyer to sue this company cause I got every paperwork, statements, files there are to get back every penny that they stole since the day I canceled their service. I don't care where the court is going to take place. I'm willing to fly from North Carolina up to New York if I have to.
If anyone could refer me to a good lawyer, please shoot me an email at rmahjut@yahoo.com. Thank you.

Obviously you work for 5 Linx. I got suckered into investing my time and hard earned dollar to becoming part of 5 Linx. After buying 2 different video phones and a nonvideo box, I realized that the equipment and network was crap. With a power surge and or brown out the phone goes offline and you have to disconnect the power and reboot. Meanwhile no one can call in. I have enough honor and dignity not to sell my friends equipment that does live up to the hipe. Consequently I left 5 Linx. As far as local reps helping, they defer to tech support in Rochester. Local reps are not tech support. They've made the sale and are moving on. You are the "rotten apple" to use a 5 Linx term. I have lost more hours of my life that I well never get back listening to tech support make excuses for why the phone failed, include blaming my internet service with Time Warner and resetting to factory default. I listened at one of the top SVP for 5 Linx at a PBR say that people in Nigeria could run their videophone without any problems as long as there was a high speed internet port. He also stated that he didn't understand the technical works of the system. Like a room light he knew that if he "flipped the switch the light came on". With technical support you better be an electrician to rewire that light switch. Even with technical support the phone was undependable. I terminated my business phone service as soon as I was out of contract. Like another complaint on this site, they billed me for the next month on a terminated service. I guess that's just SOP (standard operating procedure) for Globalinx. I wish I was never introduced to the company. My "friend" that brought me into this, I have lost alot of respect for. It makes my wonder what those I introduced to the company think of me.

Globalinx and 5Linx has excellent customer service, but they are a phone and telecom company and just like Verizon and Vonage and AT&T and others there are always a few cases of mistakes or misunderstandings. If you call [protected] you can reach live Technical Support that can help you. I switched from the other Phone Companies because Globalinx and 5Linx is much better and they have local community representatives that will usually help you in the rare case that you have any difficulities. Who was the local representative in your area that signed you up for Globalinx service? You should contact them or find another 5linx representative in your area that can help you. I use www.LookCall.com and www.FreeNewPhone.com to help people become 5linx customers and save money. I hope this helps.

Globalinx Charged for items

I purchased phone service and equipment from this company and never received. I placed mumerous of calls and the CSR agent continued to tell me to call back in a frew days and I did and nothing was never done, but I was told they would submit my comnplaint to the supervisor it took the supervisor 9 days to return my call. I was placed on hold for over 22 minutes and then was hung up on 4 times. I asked then to stop billing me monthly service cause I still do not have their equipment and yet they still bill me for monthly service. Now agent name Tina called me and told me that they will not issue mea refund and that I will have to pay $99 for early termination service for service that I never received in the first place. So now I've had to pay $98 for equipment never received and $33 for monthly service I never obrtained and now $99 for early terminaion totalling $238.00 for service and equipment I never got. So now is this how business can rip off consumers and get away with it...PLEASE PEOPLE DO NOT ORDER FROM THI COMPANY...CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AND THEY CONTINUE TO CHARGE YOUR CARD AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ASKEDTO STOP...BOGUS COMPANY...LOVE TO STILL PEOPLES MONEY.

Globalinx Stay away from them

The greatest mistake you will ever make. They always always over charge. Then they will charge you 65 dollars every two weeks. Does that make sense at all. I cut of my service and guess what they charged 111 dollars when our phone bill is 19.99. At first all think its a big deal how cheap. But they have planned ahead to suck u dry. Beside their service is so poor. Phone always cuts of and it drains the internets speed. Once we cut off the home phone, our internet has been impeccable. Never never never.

Been there, done that. Sounds like you were smarter than myself and cut your losses early. I was presented the "opportunity" at $500.00 which sounded too good to be true. Because it is. They don't present the bottom line cost, i.e the month costs, back office, platium services, annual dues and other "tools to success" in the PBR. Its after they pull you in. In fact they want new signees to be vague to friends and family. The term is "peak and pass". They want you to contact your friends to a meet with someone up the organizational food chain. The idea is to "give them the sizzle, but not the steak."
As far as RightGuy, I was in 5 Linx, and went to the meetings that my wife a I referred to a Raa, Raa at an additional cost for admission. I was certified in training up to SVP. My bottom line is your system undependable, ie not being able to get a callout line 100% of the time, and when its a 911 situation, that critical. RightGuy, since your there to help customers locally, I hope you've got rhino hide for when your systems fails when its critical. Or are they just another "rotten apple"?

Globalinx and 5Linx are listed in the INC. 500 as one of the fastest growing companies in America and with growth comes growing pains. I think training and hard work and discipline are the keys to success. This is not suppossed to be a get rich quick company and it is not. The 5Linx business model is a good model for network marketers and I personally know that many people do well who take this business seriously. The problem is that everyone thinks it is easy to be wealthy. There are no shortcuts. 5linx is one way to make a lot of money but you must be a team builder. You will not make money unless you help your team make money. This is not a pyramid scheme. You can't make money without following the proven 5linx plan and follow the training. Were you certified in the online training and team training programs? Did you go to all the meetings for training and personal development? No, you can't expect success if you don't pay the price that successful business owners pay. I went to a franchise show recently and so how normally smart people were willing to pay 10's of thousands of dollars in Franchise fees to start a business that has so much start up costs and so many chances to fail. What 5Linx has done is reduce the start up costs for starting your own business to the bare minimum. Some people should not start ANY Business because they are not business people and so they blame thier failure on others. Take responsibility and either suck it up and work hard and follow the proven plan or stop complaining and move on, but to say that 5linx is the problem when thousands of representatives are growing thier business and making money is ridiculous.
Success is not for everyone. If someone is willing to learn how to be successful and follow directions and be coachable, I would invite them to go to my website and join 5Linx at www.LookCall.com. Otherwise, if you are a quitter or complainer, please do NOT join 5linx. We want Winners Only! Losers need not apply.

Their customer service is slow and poor. Their service is poor. Why get this service when you can simply use the internet conferencing for free? Don't make the mistake of signing up to be a rep. I fell for the flashy presentation and the lying reps that say they make $10, 000 + a month after 2 months in the biz. Come to find out they were still working their full time gig and struggling just like everyone else they suckered into buying a $500 distributor license. Buy and iPod or something like that, you'd be better off. I'm out over $800 :(

Globalinx What a rip off

Brought to us by a supposed friend. Our other friends warned us that the company was not safe. Why we didn't listen is beyond me. We had good service with Vonage but switch to help a friend. It has been the experience from ***. I could not receive faxes because of the poor quality of the Globalinx equipment. When we were forced to cancel they continue to bill us for services we were no longer receiving. They charged us an early cancellation fee even though we signed up for month-to-month service. When we talk to customer service and ask for a manager none are available but they assure us we will receive a call back from them. The call never comes but the charges never end.

Globalinx service is terrible because it doesn't work. Yes, you sign up for a year contract but that is for working service. The company is at fault because their product is defective and does not work. Technical support is a joke and so is their product. Rather a person reads the contract or not they have only agreed to a product that works, not continual customer service, defective products and payments for non working service. Beware of Globalinx and 5Linx they are taking advantage of people that are looking to save money. If it sounds too good to be true...it usually is! It's all a scam!

@ThommyP - The company has been around since 2001 and in the Fortune 500 list. I highly doubt it will go bankrupt or disappear anytime soon. What you need is a really good leader who will help motivate you to get your business going. Most reps quit is because they do not have the right guidance to run the business. Fortunately for me, I have a very good mentor that always make sure I am on top of my game. Whether you are signed up or already signed up, you can still talk to me at misterkailo at gmail dot com. I am not here to sell you anything, just a friend to give you advice.

I'm sorry for your losses, however the phone is only as good as your internet provider, secondly all lan line Will be done away with just like analog T.V. Now as far as residual income its a matter of leverage just like at your regular dead end 9-5. The boss could work himself to death trying to do it all himself but in order to capitalize on the most effective and productive way he uses you and all your colleagues and you see no residual income. If you understood this international company, which now is leading the way in energy deregulation suppliers across the US, you would see an opportunity to make a real residual income just like those people did with Sprint, At&t, Qwest and MCI when the telephone monopoly ended. Think about it 100% of your effort or 01% of a team effort, the choice is yours but in 1, 2 or even 5 years from now will you still but at your job making the boss rich while your continuing in the daily struggle. Not me, I took my rose colored glasses off to do as the rich have done for centuries, use others to help build upwards.

All of you people who complain are idiots. Any and every service provided to a customer usually has some type of technical complaint by someone. Thats one of the main reasons why companies pay people for what they call CUSTOMER SUPPORT. If any company or device was ever invented without some type of complaint, their company would be the first ever in history to produce a perfect product. Not to mention globalinx is not the only company 5linx has to offer. The one idiot immediately jumped on 5linx and said they were not a good company. With over a million reps and customers why are you one of the few dummies complaining. Why criticize the entire company for your bad experience with one service they have offer. Thats like complaining about walmart, because of a vizio television. Shouldnt I just complain to vizio?

I agree that one should read the contract that they are signing. However, in that contract for services, the service provider should provide the quality service contacted. I had a LAN line with AT&T and other than calling them for initiating the service, I almost never had to call for technical support other than after an ice storm. I have had to call Globalinx technical numerous times for 2 different videophones. Maybe thats why AT&T is more expensive verses Globalinx. Old technology is more expensive, but its time tested. My frustration reached a boil over point with Globalinx when there was a message wait for me that a close family member was and taken to the hospital in critcal condition and I couldn't get a call out line. As I told me wife that night, my blood pressure with this company is over the top, hopefully I won't have a stroke or heart attack, because you won't be able to call 911.
