Global Events Management Group Inc. presented to us and sold us a package for the 2010 RBC Canadian Golf. In their presentation they showed us pictures of a marquee tent, special catering, their corporate logo on both tent and said we would have corporate signage. They showed us the testimonials from their prior year and assured they would secure the same this year. We gave them payment in March, the urgency of securing being made that it was the last table left.

What was shown to us in the brochures and on their website was not delivered.

Mr. Maher Jaber has stated he is the CEO of the company. I noted he was trained at THG in London according to his complaint listed on this website concerning Marcus Evans and THG. Global Events seems very similar to THG in their dealings according to the complaints lodged on this website about THG.

Anybody interested in making these creeps pay for taking advantage of and misleading so many before it happens to others? There is legal recourse which can be pursued collectively.

Please advise

I recently retired as Senior Vice President, Lodging Development - Canada, for the largest hotel company in the world, a company of the highest ethics and behavior which is respected globally because of it's culture. My youngest son, who has worked in the hospitality industry for the past 15 years has always wanted to move into the "Event Management" and applied and got a position at the Global Sports Management division of the Global Events group located in Toronto; he lasted there for 4 days having been totally misled as what the position was as well as the compensation, benefits etc. While he should have done more due diligence before handing his notice in to the hotel where he has been working for the past 18 months, enthusiasm got the better of him and he landed in an untenable environment that appeared not only to mislead their employees but also the clients to which they were selling. The negative comments above are clearly part of a pattern and should be a caution to prospective employees and clients alike.

They are very unprofessional and are quite frankly a lousy company. I was asked to move forward to become an "Account Executive". I had an Interview with Mike and Mayer. The pay is $30K/Year + Commission. Their Script are deceitful saying that a company has decided to cancel their Services to attend the Masters or Grand Prix and because they canceled it is 33% more cheaper which is total BS. As i was asked to work for them, they told me to come in the following Monday. The Friday before Mike called me to say that Mayer will be the one training me but he is away from the country so i was to start the following week. I came in and Mike said I was not scheduled to start work because Mayer is still away. Well I waited another week and no call From Mike or Mayer and they re-posted their Indeed Ad again. Decided that they are a waste of my time and they have not grown in years. Still have only 3 people from years ago.

Check it out if you have an interest but I highly recommend you stay away from this company and any other involvement Mike and Mayer are in.

Maher Jaber is a low class human and con artist to say the least. I worked for them briefly for one week. Made me sign a bogus contract saying they could fire me any time without pay. Basically these pigs just hire anybody off the street to help them data mine then fire them. I quit and took my leads before these swindlers fired me. Don't let the downtown Toronto location fool you, these guys are as low level as you can get.

In Early June this year, I had the opportunity to meet Maher and Joe, when they interviewed me for an Account Exec position at Brandfit. Without a doubt, this was the most uncomfortable interview I have ever had. Instead of them asking me about myself, they began grilling me and asking me how I would deliver a top notch sales pitch to companies. They also asked me if I was willing to make 120+ cold calls a day. They failed to discuss compensation, which probably means it was a commission based gig. These guys were flat out CREEPY and would have fit in perfectly at Stratton Oakmont with Jordan Belfort and the rest of his Strattonite crew. None of these reviews above surprise me one bit.

Shaddy business practices to say the least on all fronts starting with the CEO Maher Jabor and his Fat partner Joel Verrault who run both Global Sports Management Group and BrandFit.ca out if the same downtown Toronto office. In short, Maher Jabor is a Skelper who purchases tickets to international sporting events...then turns around and puts together a bogus Corporate Hospitality package and sells it to senior executives through his more than shaddy guinnie pig inside dales personnel Greasy Raj & Fat Mikey.

A special note to Social Media Influencers who are contacted to promote brands for their 2nd company...Brandfit.ca...Maher & Joel will only look for ways to not pay you for your services...PLEASE BE WARE !

I worked in the same office for another company they ran - BrandFIT Inc. It is total BS. Raj and Michael will use fake names and accents to get through. They are basically guinea pigs to Maher Jaber - dangling their jobs in front of them but Maher knows that only a handful of people are dumb enough or desperate to put up with their horrible business practices including faking names/scenarios with receptionist to get through to CEOs only to be shut down.

I have just returned from the Masters hosted by Global Events. Their hospitality was delivered, and our clients left having enjoyed themselves thoroughly. We will be returning again with them next year.

I would advise nobody to work here. There is no place to move up in the company as their is only four people employed, the manager Raj does not know how to talk to people and the sales techniques are horrible. You call CEO's talking about a cancelled contract, something that never happen.
I urge Do Not Work here, it is truly a waste of time, and if you are a senior level executive do not buy, it is not worth it.

I had an interview back in the spring of 2013 with these guys. I was asked to proceed to the second interview where I was told to find 10 companies and do detailed research on them so they could potentially use them as clients and was also asked to come up with a sales pitch for an upcoming sports event. I sent an email saying I was no longer interested. I found this to be a very odd request for a second interview, I don't do hours of work for free especially not for a company that has awful reviews all over the Internet and and an F from the Better Business Bureau

I concur. I interviewed with Maher, where he was very pleased with me and told me to proceed with discussing further with his sales manager, Michael. Michael, a total classless man was wondering why I wanted to clarify their otherwise, VAGUE compensation package - as I was new to the company and their operations were not discussed in complete detail.
Then, I get a call from Maher Jaber, CEO, he asked for my name, I said, this is ______ speaking, then he shouted at me with no pause! He started accusing me of claiming a 60, 000 dollar salary and a whole handful of preconceived notions he garnered from the baboon named Michael at Global Events Management in Toronto. He also said how I am unable to 'comprehend' a 'face to face' interview. Excuse me? Before signing off to any company, you don't just go by one line - you CLARIFY and ASK...Anyway, Maher Jaber did not even let me explain my side of the story, he was clearly under a misunderstanding and kept shouting in the harshest manner - he shut the phone on me and did not let me speak a word to explain that he was completely under a false understanding of my discussion with the Sales idiot. What a wretched employer - I'm the best thing they will NEVER have - and since, I've been employed at a larger firm that gives a comprehensive package of their compensation structure and explains it at the interview! Thanks Maher! Maher is a complete unprofessional [censored] to deal with, does not even know how to conduct an interview! He looked so confused!

Just look at their website. It is riddled with spelling errors.

Moreover, their website (http://globaleventsinc.com/index.php) is a lazy and cheap rip off of GEM (http://www.geventm.com/).

Maher Jaber is completely classless.

Can you tell me more about your experience?

I am the verge of signing an agreement with them and I would like to know more about their practices.
