I signed up for credit card help and they promised that if I signed up they would settle my debt for half or less. All they have done so far is take fees from the money I sent them. They have failed to keep up there end of the bargain. They have not contacted any of my creditors to negotiate any plan or to say that I am part of a debt settlement program. I sent emails and left messages for my contact and no one will call or email me back. I went online to look for this company and see if there were any complaints about them and low and behold I am not the only one in the same situation. GCS told me to send money and when they had enough they would call my creditors. My creditors told me they need to hear from GCS now or I face serious problems and GCS has failed to do so.

if you are notified that there is an overpayment in your account and you receive a refund...is this check any good?

I have a serious problem with Global Client Solutions. My mother in law died, and they were still removing money from an account that was only in father in laws name. After death certificate being faxed and questioning by the bank manager they still couldn't tell any of us who they were pulling the money for - no debt settlement company no nothing. They just said they didn't know who the debt was for. Yeah - what company are you holding the company for? What debt settlement company? We don't know?! Really? I found no paperwork (and my mother in law kept a lot of records on their loan modification and other issues These are old people that got taken advantage of by this company. Stop blaming people for not knowing how to negotiate this stuff, when you (GCS) are clearly part of the problem! Answer your phones, tell people who they need to contact! If you are the middleman, great! Tell them who the heck to call! Don't be jerks! Especially when we call to inform of a death. I hope that particular customer service rep can sleep at night.

I am working with GCS, and up until today haven't had any issues with them. Communication has always been there for me. My original contract had them taking my fees out of my banking account on the 18th of the month I wrote and changed it to the 26th or after, because I get my disability check the 4th Wednesday of every month. No problems, okay. Well January's payment didn't get taken out until 2/5 and that was because I wrote them and asked when they were going to withdraw their funds. February's payment was supposed to be the 26th. Imagine my shock when I checked my bank statement online this morning and found that they had taken their payment out on the 18th. I immediately shot an email off to person in charge of my account, asking them to call me ASAP, I got a very prompt phone call full of apologies for withdrawing funds early, "they forgot". Well guess what I am sitting here writing this sick to my stomach, I know have 5 overdraft charges at $35.00 each. I am just so sick over this, that I don't know what to do, I don't have any extra money to pay this, if I did maybe I wouldn't be in a debt relief company. I was told they would pay my overdrafts, out of next months funds...thank you, but that doesn't help me now. Oh it's going to be a very long night with stress and worry. Has this happened to anyone else.

You are all complaining about GCS and well for starters may I just say that it isn't their fault your money was taken out of that account. They are just an escrow account and they hold the money that goes in there to be taken out by the debt consolidation company. Yes they charge an enrollment fee and a maintenance fee, but they have to make money somehow. They are not the people who do the consolidating. They are just the people who open an account for you and then they disburse to whomever the debt consolidation company tells them to. Take it up with your debt consolidation company not GCS.

My daughter is living and working outside the US. The Department of Education told her she could use GCS to make her student loan payments. I believe they were also supposed to make payments on a credit card. I didn't understand why the credit card company was always calling because she said they were supposed to be taking the money out of her account here. Finally, I told her to pay the card off. A week ago we received a letter from an Investment firm/collection agency advising her that the student loan is in default. This collection agency is now legally entitled to add fees of $15, 000 to the loan. That's nearly 30% of the principle. They made 2 phone calls and sent a form letter. The government has now legalized loan sharking. So besides being out the money she thought was paying her loan, she's being charged $15, 000 more because of GCS. I have our congressman looking into the situation, but I don't know how my daughter will prove anything as most of it was done online. I will, however be sending the information to the State Attorney General.

her student loan is in default and the so called collection company who made 2 phone calls and sent a form letter has been legally allowed to add $15, 000 to the loan. I couldn't understand what happened. Nearly $3, 000 has been deducted from the bank account but it's now obvious GCS never sent payments to the credit card company or the student loan.

Global CLient Solutions has the perfect plan to rip off people. This company has it made with their perfect little contracts to cover all the bases. Of course, all the people seeking help are broke so they no one can afford a lawyer to sue them. By sending GCS $500-$1000 a month and patiently waiting for them to settle your debts, you become impatient and want to drop out. Well, then you will lose every dime you put in. And what has GCS done for you, absolutely 100% nothing. So, if you've been in the program for a couple of years without any debt settled, and you decide to move on, THEY WILL WILL NOT PAY YOU BACK!
We had about $2500 in the GCS account and our negotiator called us and wanted to know if we were ready to settle. We were pretty excited thinking we were going to get a debt settled. She asked us if we could write a check for $18, 000 to settle the debt of $18, 000. Now, that is what I call negotiating.
If you decide to use GCS, you will have paid them thousands of dollars before they will even begin negotiating for you. GCS has their money and yours, so now you are just hoping and praying they will do what they are paid to do.
I decide this company wasn't for us and we asked for our money back. Well, we lost about $3, 000 dollars to Global Client Solutions because THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOU!
I am truly disappointed we didn't get one thing solved and plus we lost $3, 000.
I am writing this to let people know, DO NOT USE GLOBAL CLIENT SOLUTION!
This is a company who makes money off other people's misery!

I joined G.C.S. in June of 2011 and they already settled 2 of 5 debts at .20 cents on the dollar 80% on one account and .30 cents on the dollar 70% on another... At the start they said 48 to 52 Months... Now it looks like 36 to 42 Months...Thank You G.C.S...
P.S. Most of these COMPLAINANTS did not follow the "instructions" properly... I'm happy... God Bless!

I have had nothing but trouble with these folks. I thought I solved it at the beginning of my program and now that I am down to the last settlement, trouble arises again, telling me they need more money despite what the contract said.
They change passwords so you can't login, stop and start with paper statements, so you can't have a paper trail, for records.
You call and get corp nice-nice and confused as to the problem, like your an idiot.
They put you through so much aggravation ( I just spent 55 min) just to get answers.

I own a small business in Colorado. I recently went into debt. I hired this company because the bank was garnishing my wages and i needed help. I spoke to 'Global Client Solutions' representative "Oona" and she told me that if I signed up with them they would consolidate my debt and settle it for half or less. It's been 14 months and they haven't made a single payment to the bank. The banks tell me that GCS has made no attempt to contact them. Global Client Solutions has taken well over $6, 000 from me for nothing in return. They say that they are holding my money in an account to pay off my debt once i have enough money, but they are keeping over 70% of the money that i give them, and the remaining 30% is going in to the "savings". I recently changed my account number, so they could no longer take money form my account through automatic transfers. Soon after doing this, I received a call from "Oona", saying that i needed to make a payment. When I ask her why the bank has not received a single payment, she responds, "It's because you don't have enough money to pay them". So where did all the money that they took out of my account go? To their unauthorized fees! For NOTHING! Also, GCS has also BLOCKED my access to the bank, disabling me from dealing with the bank directly! I finally met with a bank representative, and they we're willing to workout a payment solution with me directly.

This is corrupt! I can't believe there are companies out there getting away with this kind of thing. They have taken advantage of me in hard times, and now I'm left in a tougher spot than before. I'm living day by day, and can barely make ends meet. If you have experienced this kind of treatment, please do your part to try and stop these guys. E-mail me and lets help each other. Ladies and Gentleman. I'm reading between the lines here and I see a whole bunch of misinformed people. First, understand the an escrow firm is nothing more than a parking space for money. They don't do anything else. Also, every debt settlement plan gives you the option to select your own escrow firm, which would do the exact same thing as Global. All of your cp, plaints should be directed towards the settlement company or YOURSELVES. READ what you sign...it was all disclosed to you. I'll never understand someone who signs up for a 4 year deal and then wants instant results is 6-12 months. Did you call your bank to complain when your mortgage balance went down very little in the first few years? I do this for a living and I am very good at it...I'm honest with my clients and they all know exactly what to expect. 98 percent of my clients are still with me after 2 years in the program. It works...just give itvtime and make sure you choose the right LAW FIRM.

I have been with Global Client Solutions since August '08. I had 10 credit cards that I used for my business. Long story short, divorce...business closed...used cards to pay other cards (not recommended!)...debt grows and grows...bottom line 58K in debt.

I wasn't crazy about the Retainer and service fees coming off the top but I grinned and beared it for 15 months while it was happening. 895.00 was taken out of my bank account each month with 388.73 going toward the retainer & service fees, the remainer being built up to pay the credit cards. By May of '09 2 of my cards were paid, both to Bank of America. One for 17, 731.89 was settled for 3, 550.00 and the other one for 5, 048.73 settled for 1, 050.00! Needless to say I was thrilled because the 17K was my largest debitor & GCS got them to settle both for 20% of the debt! They took what I had built up and arranged payments to BofA I believe over a 3 month period. Next month I will be debt free! It would've been sooner but there was a few times I couldn't make my payments for the month. GSC allows you to not make a monthly payment 2 times a year. I maybe missed 3 payments total plus just a partial payment in my 2 yrs 8 months with them.

In all this time I only had one creditor that filed a lawsuit which was Discover Card. They are the only ones who hires a Lawyer to recover their debt instead of Collection Agencies. The only option GCS would give was to tack them to the end of the line and pay them when I could and allow the lawsuit to go through. That wasn't something I was willing to do so I borrowed the money from my sister to pay them. That was the only time I was thoroughly disgusted with GCS & told them so! But I got through it.

My recommendation to anyone involved with debt settlement is to pay off DISCOVER first, they are the ones who will come after you! Beware that your credit cards will accrue interest until paid. But you still come out ahead of the game when all is said and done. Change your phone number to an unlisted number and just be patient.

I never had any problem whatsoever with reaching GCS anytime I needed them either through phone calls or email. Overall I'm pleased with the help they gave me other than the Discover card problem. Knowing I will be debt free after 2 years and 9 months for debt that would've taken me 30 years to pay off makes me shout "Hallelujah!"

Hope this has helped!

Due to an unexpected life threatening illness of my spouse, I had to enroll him into payday loan debt assistance.
We had our acct set up w/Global Client solutions and are extremely happy. We can log onto our acct and see exactly what is paid to acct holders once debt is settled, the acct fee as well as the debt assistance fee. We fortunately chose a GREAT COMPANY for payday loan help. Our acct rep named Brii, is fantastic, always responds to calls or emails, and has notified every debtor. If you do have payday loan debt you have trouble due to unforseen circumstances, please call this fantastic co or contact brii@pdlda.com for totally upfront and honest service.

I know several debt settlement companies that don't do anything and just charge you fees and hope for the best. I wish there was a way to file a class action law suite to get everyone the money back or make them pay for taking advantage of people in desprate times.

I have been involved with a debt settlement company for 16 months, using GCS as the vessel that holds the funds to eventually pay off my debts. Before I signed on with my debt settlement company, I researched a great deal and then took the plunge and chose Ritter Law Firm as my debt settlement attorney. The company I chose explained everything in great detail and I fully understood that it may be months before my first debt was settled. I had a great deal of credit card debt, over $80K. The debt was incurred due to a job loss and a move. I was paying off my cards responsibly until the credit card companies decided to raise my interest rates from 6.99 and 7.99 percent to anywhere from 21.99 to 29.99%. I was NEVER late and they really had no explanation as to why this happened. Well, I was already paying more than $2500 a month on my cards, and now my minimum amounts were more than $3000 a month and at that rate, it would take me 75 years to pay off my debt. So, I am not the irresponsible person some of the posters on this forum say we are. I think that people in our situation are just desperate and get taken in by debt relief companies that have no scruples. I have been fortunate that I have been working with one that is more caring. Anyway, after 16 months in the plan, 5 of my 8 cards are settled either entirely or with a payment plan. Most have been settled at around 40 percent of my balance. I am so very grateful for this and in the 16 months without credit cards in my life, I have learned to live nicely without credit. On the few occasions I have had to contact GCS for anything, they have been responsive and helpful. And, as others have said, GCS is not the problem, the debt relief companies are. And, now that the laws have changed and debt relief companies can no longer collect fees in advance, I am hopeful this will weed out the bad from the good. Good luck to all out there that are trying so hard to get there financial lives together. I am finally seeing the light, and it's NOT the train coming at me any longer!

Please be aware that recent regulations passed by the Federal Trade Commission strictly PROHIBIT any Debt Settlement Company from charging a fee on ANY enrolled account before the settlement has taken place. In short, they have to settle an account and provide a savings to their clien before the fee portion for the settled account can begin to be collected for the settlement work performed - doesnt get much better than that! The only "exception" to this rule is when you have your consultation and sign your paperwork IN PERSON - they can then collect their fees up front. There are many GREAT Debt Settlement Companies available that WILL help qualified consumers eliminate their debts AND SAVE MONEY whether contacted over the internet where fees are paid AFTER the service has been provided or the "face to face" model that allows fees to be collected in advance.

Unfortunatly there are companies that will take abvantage of consumers. This is why doing your homework in the begining is a good idea. I am also in the debt management and settlement industry. Our company has a 88% retention rate, because of our dedication to customer service and education. We contact our customers at least twice a month. And let them know exactly what to expect. We too use Global Client Soutions, they are just a payment processor, and we have no problems with them. If anyone has any questions please give me a call. [protected] x 5125

i had been in the program with CADMOA for over a year and nothing ever got settled. I finally got out and I want to know who I need to file a suit with to get back over $5000 in fee money. GET OUT NOW and find a debt program you can trust. One of my accounts has gone into garnishment and I don't know what is going to happen with that. They did not do what they promised.

Global Client Solutions and Rocky Mountain Bank & Trust are only in existence to hold a participating Settlement Companies clients funds for future settlements. They ARE NOT A SETTLEMT COMPLANY. If you read the Service Agreement that is signed before entering, you will see this. As far as the other issues in reference to the Debt Settlement Industry, I would like to point out the following:
Everyone needs to realize first and foremost that Debt Settlement Programs are designed and INTENDED for use by consumers that CANNOT PAY THEIR UNSECURED BILLS BUT DO NOT want to file Bankruptcy. These consumers are already DESTROYING their credit and have the same risk of legal action from the creditors whether they are enrolled in Debt Settlement OR NOT. These programs will typically help negotiate the reduced principal payoff of the enrolled unsecured debts (over time) based off of a VERIFIABLE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP. And yes there is a fee involved just like EVERY OTHER BUSINESS IN EXSISTENCE. Debt Settlement, across the board, has received a bad rap because of the number of shady operations out there, IN COMBINATION with those consumers that think they can "BEAT" their creditors out of something only to find out that they can’t - and then it’s time to blame the Debt Settlement Company.
It’s time for the consumer public to take responsibility for their actions and their situations; if you can pay your bills – PAY YOUR BILLS. If you have had a life changing event that now makes it impossible for you to meet your unsecured payment requirements, Debt Settlement IS an option that may be able to help you avoid bankruptcy and get the accounts negotiated to a ZERO BALANCE. With the new FTC laws in place to protect the consumer public, those “SHADY” businesses will soon be gone and the Debt Settlement Industry will once again prove to be a viable solution for those consumers that it is intended for.

Jose Tripon...
Global Client Solutions is just a financial institution that works with Rocky Mountain Bank (and other banks) to handle accounts for these good and bad debt resolution/relief companies. If you contracted on with a debt relief company they are probably taking a percentage of the total amont of your debt (EXAMPLE: if debt amount is $15, 000 they take a percentage of that like 15% for there initial fee or it would be 15% of $15, 000 or $2, 250.00). They meaning the debt relief company and not Global Client Solutions. Global takes $9.85 a month for a fee. The debt relief company won't throw any money into your savings as YOUR savings until you pay, in monthly installments, the up front initial fee. And, no debtor is going to wait a year to get their money. You'll probably get court papers for your debt. If you signed a contract with a debt relief company please READ it and try to cancel it if you've no satisfaction with them. I will warn you though that you will be held responsible for that initial fee to them. My initial fee was fully paid to them and I cancelled with them and they refunded me $300, but they still owe me, in my eyes, another 6 to 8 hundred dollars and I am going after them. I hope FCDR gave you their new address? I sent them certified letters and they never picked them up for a whole month and the letters just got returned to me today. My certified letters had to do with cancelling the account after I e-mailed them to cancel it. My account is now closed with them as if my Global account and Global gave me back the money that was in the Global account within 10 days. FCDR will not be there for any support for you. They are very bad at Customer Service.

I am a client of Freedom Debt Relief, and have been very happy with them...as well as with the bank that "holds" my funds, Rocky Mountain Bank and Trust. These complaints are idiotic. Obviously you all have misunderstood the process followed by debt relief companies...at least the reputable ones. FDR even guided me through a very scary legal process when one of my creditors got ugly and filed a legal judgement. (It was settled out of court, by Freedom, for a very reasonable sum.) I was terribly upset by the whole thing and called them often for guidance and support, and I ALWAYS got it! The level of intelligence on these internet postings is truly alarming.Get a clue, people, before you make a**** of yourselves complaining about things that you clearly totally misunderstood!

94 days ago this comment by a CBentley was posted concerning First Choice Debt Resolution. They were put on a 12 month program for approximately $12, 000 of debt. FCDR charges a 15% fee of the total debt so their 15% fee would have been about $1, 800 up front in monthly payments. Additionally they were paying $39.95 and $9.85 in other fee's per month. I applaud the fact they were able to do away with their debt only 3 months into the program, but having just spent a full year with FCDR I find this very hard to believe unless they had extra cash and told FCDR this and that is the only way this person could have negotiated their debt in a 3 month period thru this company to pay it off. I am very familiar with FCDR. Your credit rating took a nose dive also and you don't even mention that at all. GCS isn't the issue, they're just a go-between for these debt relief companies.

Global Client Solutions is a go-between for debt settlement companies. I am not sticking up for them so keep that in mind about what I am going to say please.
GCS has a right to charge a fee for servicing. It does cost money to do wire transfers. GCS uses Rocky Mountain Bank and Trust.

I had First Choice Debt Resolution and I will only say that I made an extreme big mistake. The thing of it is that those people that think bill collectors are going to wait for a person for a year or more to pay off a bill, have a debt settlement company negotiate, are very wrong in thinking that. If a person has some extra money stashed away to have bills negotiated down for them in a 3 month period of time then I say go for it. Financial obligations will not wait for you to get money into a savings account over a 2, 3, 4, 5 year period to have a debt negotiated by any debt relief company and thats a fact. Been there, done that, have the court judgements to pay now.
This place, FCDR, put me on at first a 5 year plan, and then revamped my contract, without a new contract, down to a 3 to 4 year plan. They charged me a 15% fee on what my total amount of debt was and told me that I would also have a monthly fee for the duration of my contract (?) in the amount of $39.95 a month and $9.85 a month for the maintaintence fee with GCS. So, the first year all I did was pay off my 15% initial fee and the $39.95 and $9.85 fee's. Nothing into savings. I got court papers for 4 accounts and off to court I went. FCDR refunded me for those 4 court cases they wouldn't be handling. I got another court paper for another debt and this time FCDR has not refunded me. By refunded I mean my total debt amount has now been cut in half due to court judgements on accounts FCDR will never negotiate because a court gave me monthly payments I have to pay. I was in with FCDR a year and that was enough for me. The entire year I never had any issues with GCS. When I closed out with FCDR, GCS refunded me what I had in my savings account. Like all financial institution, holding companies, they all charge fee's. My gripe was with FCDR and the way they lure people into their program. I had been unemployed a few years, exhausted my unemployment, small 401K, I had to do something, but never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would land in small claims court within a short year of signing on with this FCDR. In fact, I remember the rep at FCDR sending me an e-mail stating, "your debt is so small that you won't have to worry about court cases for it". I bought it all, hook, line, and sinker because I just wanted to pay off my debt. Yes, I feel like a darn fool today. AND, you wouldn't believe how many people I met in court that were going thru a debt relief company that were wondering why they were in court. You wouldn't believe how angry the judge was that so many were wasting their money they didn't have on these debt relief companies. So, if you have a stash of money to pay down your debt within a 3 month period then do it, but remember it's going to cost you alot. Average people with no extra cash shouldn't do any debt relief companies at all. I'm still waiting to see if I get a further refund for what I paid FCDR when my debt amount got cut in half during the course of a year and I had paid off my 15% fee.

Ha hahahaha! Touche Mr. CJHarley.. Seems like a totally different person responding. Just wanted to see your reply since you started the "bashing" (Nothing better than to head a collector say "please be honest" sorry but i had to laugh.) I guess your true colors were revealed.. My job here was just to educate the public, not reply on boards trying to drum up business like you are doing. I wish you good luck on your DSA mission to help the public. Thanks for the laugh, and good luck with your business.

You are correct, no response. Aren’t you the one that stated you’re a trainer and very high ethics on treating people with respect? I will gladly be the brunt of your bashing to show everyone the truth of who you are. FYI, my firm also is based on performance with phenomenal results. We truly treat people with honesty and respect.

We are two different industries with different outlooks on this. We could continue for a lifetime debating this issue. I am sure you do a very good job at your training, and we do a very good Job at ours as well. I do wish you all the best and appreciate you showing all of us your true colors.

Any typos you wish to point out?

lol, Yeah a very "iteleget" conversation.. and the DSA's are "doping" a good job.. Sounds like you are probably one of those DSA agent or consultants I was talking about.

I can not have an intelligent conversation with you Mr. Harley.. Too easy of a target. Don't get offended, its just a post on an online complaint board. And if you would have read our previous posts you would have noticed that I am not a collector, and the 2 companies the company I work for represent, Citi & Chase no longer deal with DSA's because of the damage they do to consumers. (By not calling the creditor to make them aware of the situation, by telling consumers to stop paying all their other bills. Are you aware of the amount of people that get sued while working with DSA's? They are totally surprised when they get served. "I thought my DSA was handling it" Wrong.)

And your an attorney? (I'm taking you were being sarcastic, at least I hope so) Well, I guess it can happen. This is America!

If you would have read the original post correctly you would have noticed that the OP (original poster) thought GCS was a DSA, the person was not even aware that they are just a payment processing company. So please read all the posts before you post, and educate yourself a little better before you rant and rave in an unprofessional manner. How about using spell check, it's free right on this posting forum. Or maybe they didn't teach you that at your fancy law school.

*******General Public****** Educate yourself, don't take my word for it. Especially don't take the word of this last poster (CJHarley

your comment "Its not like DSA employees obtain a BA or Masters in debt settlement at their local college. 97% of DSA employees have little to no college degree."

this was for a little while an iteleget conversation. now your pulling number out of the air and is starting to sound like your just having issues collecting because the DSA's are doping a good job making it harder for you.

i understand Mitzi's point about putting your own house fire out. its called an example. you can do anything you like if you put the time and effore into it. does not meen you will get the same results. as far as fees go, look at the big picture and how it all works. you can still save about 50% of the debts and be releived of this debt and get back on track. i would not say that program is for everyone, but for a true hardship it can work. why not do it yourself? normally you have to pay lump sum to settle the debts. if they could do that or even save money they would not be where they are. this is an assistance with that. most pepole are not dicaplined enough to save the money on their own. and your thinking why not use an attorney for all of this at those fees, well guess what? here I am use me.

the start of this was a complaint against GCS and them not settling debts. well they are a bank, they do not settle debt. the comsumer needs to be educated about DSA, its not for everyone but it does help a lot of people.

Nothing better than to head a collector say "please be honest" sorry but i had to laugh.

Keep selling your industry and services Mitzi.. You sound like a bright and educated individual and really good sales person.

And just because I am a training director for a collection agency does not mean I am an unethical person. I agree totally that the vast majority of consumer complaints are aimed at the ARMS industry. I also agree that a huge majority of debt collectors are threatening and use abusive tactics. Like I mentioned before, the company I work for does not condone and terminates any collector on the spot caught violating any and all FDCPA violations. And like mentioned previously, the ARMS industry is in for a huge overhaul in the upcoming year or so. A lot of abusive debt collectors will be out of jobs in the near future.

As for settling your own debt, yes ANYONE can do it. Its not like DSA employees obtain a BA or Masters in debt settlement at their local college. 97% of DSA employees have little to no college degree. As far as you comparing diy debt settlement to putting out your own house fire is completely absurd. Its more comparable to cutting your own lawn and paying someone to do it for you.

Why don't you elaborate a little on the fee you do charge if a debt is settled? I'm positive it is a pretty decent flat fee, or percentage. The average time spent on the phone, actually settling a debt should not exceed 45-60 mins if that. Paying anything more than $100-$150 per account should be considered robbery. It's not like you are an attorney. ( In some cases, usually depending on the amount an attorney might be a good choice). Hope your not taking this offensive, ... :)

I just want to give consumers the facts. Yes, some consumers may feel intimidated or may not be good negotiators, and could benefit from the services you offer. I am positive that if the average consumer was to educated themselves for FREE online, they would never need the services of a DSA. I am anxiously awaiting to see your companies fee structure.. If its reasonable, then more power to you and I think you guys are doing a great public service. Please be honest, so everyone can benefit from our little back and forth discussion. Have a great night, and good luck.

It is hard to imagine a training director for a collection agency, attempting to write what appears to be a warning to consumers. In 2009 consumers lodged over 120, 000 complaints to various Federal agencies regarding abusive collection tactics such as; threating bodily harm, taking a consumers home, calling neighbors, friends and relatives, disclosing private financial information in clear violation of the FDCPA. In fact debt collection tops the list of consumer abuse and fraudulent collection tactics.

You can ABSOLUTELY do your own Debt Settlement. you can you can also do your own taxes, you can also put out your own house fires, you can do your own home improvements, you can sell your own house. You can do everything yourself; but Usually you hire a PROFESSIONAL.

As for me, I am employed by a Debt Mitagation company that operates as "Performanced Based" fee structure . We are one of a handful of companies in the industry that earns its fees after a bonified settlement has been achieved. BOTTOM LINE; if we dont settle your debts, then we DONT GET PAID! This is how my employer has operated since inception.

My facts are straight, no one is bragging.. And before you get all offended about your high and mighty PERFORMANCE BASED DSA company, which you probably own. I said I work for one of the largest agency's, not THE largest agency like you mentioned. I never said my job was pretty. It's not, I can be very honest and truthful. My job is to teach collectors how to abide by the Fair Debt Collection Practice (FDCPA) and applicable state laws. Unfortunately collections is not a pretty job, but it's necessary to keep the economy going.

Creditors lend-->Consumers borrow-->Some pay-->Some don't-->Those that don't pay get collection calls-->Money collected goes back to creditor to lend again. (Like the circle of life, lol)

I am totally against abusive debt collection tactics, and any form of unethical behavior.

With that being said, I know their are a lot of unethical debt collection companies out there (A LOT). The company I work for, does not condone nor approve any of those tactics. The "big boys" are no longer willing to work with companies that abuse, and tarnish the industry. In the next upcoming years the ARMS industry will be making a 360 degree turn to a more compliance oriented industry. Your so called industry will be out of business. Why hire a PERFORMANCE BASED company like yours when a consumer can settle a debt on their own, (with some online research) saving your PERFORMANCE BASED FEE, and using that fee to settle other accounts. DSA's are nothing more than glorified phone jockeys in a call center environment. Yes some do help people, but its usually people that are conned into believing that DSA's have a special secret the "big boys" don't want you to know. You have no secret formulas, or special relationships with any creditors. If you noticed my last post, I directed people to incredible websites like:

www.creditinfocenter.com
www.debtorboards.com

Which teach consumers how to settle their own debt, without paying you a single penny. I will even throw out www.budhibbs.com he is one of the best consumer advocates around. He is not tOo fond of DSA's either, wonder why? The company I work for is not, and has never been on www.budhibbs.com

TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC********* KNOWLEDGE IS POWER, the internet is filled with a ton of free useful information. Don't be fooled by this DSA (Saint) he is out to get your money.. I guarantee that if you guys spend a few hours on the above listed websites, you will learn how to deal with abusive debt collectors (in turn repairing your credit, or giving you more leverage to settle your own debts). These sites have step by step instructions on how to settle your own debt, without paying anyone a single penny. I would say that a huge majority of debt collectors, have also been debt settlement agents at one point. Why pay someone to pay one of your own bills for you, c'mon... Its common sense.

I think I have given a very unbiased decision, given the fact that I work for a CA (collection agency). Unlike the previous poster, that prefers to be a poster boy for a failing industry that is being closed down by state attorney generals across the country. I have nothing against settling debt, what I am against, is someone charging PERFORMANCE BASED FEES for something that the average joe can do himself. Save yourself the money and the grief, and look at the sites listed above, or Google "diy debt settlement"

Like I mentioned in my last post, a lot of the large creditors are refusing to work with DSA's because of the harm most of these companies do (if you noticed I mentioned MOST not ALL). I've talked to a lot of consumers that have told me they were instructed by their DSA to stop paying all their other credit card debts, to stop talking to CA's because they would notify the CA about their representation. Guess what? DSA's never call CA's unless they have a lump sum amount to settle. What if it takes you 2 to 3 years to accumulate your required amount? Interest charges keep adding up, and a lot of these poor people end up getting sued. If a DSA rep tells you that a CA can not sue you while you are in their program, he is LYING TO YOU!

Its, getting late... And I'm starting to get tired. I could go on and on about DSA's all night. But don't take my word for it, educated yourself and Google it. Good luck and good night.

To the Training Director for the LARGEST Collection Agency in the COUNTRY:

If I were you I wouldnt brag about being a training director for a collection agency. The complaints by the consumers about the HARRASSMENT by collectors at collection agencys still exsists and tops the lists of complaints to the Federal Trade Commission.

There are many consumers whom are either out of work, loss of hours, NO raises and are struggling to pay for the Neccessities of Life.

I agree that most Debt Settlement Companies are scams. The Debt Settlement companies that are scams are frequently the ones that are front loaded, fee structured take al the consumers money before the settle any debts. This would be called FLAT FEE STRUCTURED Debt Settlement Companies.

I work for a Debt Settlement company that is PERFORMANCED BASED, we are one of the handful of Debt Settlement companies in the industry that collects its settlement fees ONLY after a Bonified settlement has been achieved; this is referred to a s "Performance Based Fee " structure versus what most of the Debt Settlement industry follows which is "Flat Fee" structure. BOTTON LINE; If we cant save you money then we DONT GET PAID>

As far as Global Client Solutions, they are one of the largest account MANAGEMENT Companies in the United States. Global creates total seperation between the consumers funds and the Debt Settlement Companies. Of course there are fees involved but it certainly beats paying 29.9 % or higher in interest on a credit card in this
economy.

Before you talk about the "big boys" Citi and Chase not being involved with DSC you need to get your facts straight.
