Glamour Shots Licensing Scam You for Your Money

I have always wanted to take some Glamour Shot photos of myself, to give as gifts to family members, and for my own home. Like for so many of us, pricing and priorities are an issue during these hard economic times. but I had saved some extra money for Christmas gifts, so I went ahead and made the decision to go forward with Glamour Shots. I knew that the pictures might turn out to be somewhat pricey, in the $100's or $150.00's, according to an earlier phone call to the store. I had spoken to a lady, and she had told me that the photos fun for about $30-$40 dollars a sheet, depending on the size of the picture, and the amount of photos I wanted to purchase. I went to my appointment, very tired, may I add, right after work, but very eager to do the photo session. The young lady tha did my make-up, hair and photos was very good, I had a pleasant conversation with her. As a matter of fact, everyone was nice to me there. When it came to the time to pick out the photos that I liked, another girl assisted me with the pricing. I found it odd, that before we started the selection of pricing, she asked me what I did for a living, but I blew off the thought and continued. She offered me 3 different packages to choose from. The first one was in the $2, 000 dollar range, the second one was in the $1, 000 dollar range, and the last one was in the $500 dollar range, I gasped! I did not expect these numbers. I then asked about the separate sheets at $30-$40 dollars like I was recently told, and she said that it would come out more expensive that way, that the packages are the way to go for a better deal. By this time, I had picked out only three poses that I liked. I asked the young sales lady, if there were any other cheaper packages, and she said no.
The photos were very pretty, so I was unsure of what to do. I asked again if she can give me a break on the package, and she said no. Finally, I gave in to the last photo package for a grand total of $543.19; including 1-8x10, 2- 5x7's, 8 wallets, & a CD with all the shots, and a 10x13. Still I thought this was very expensive, but trusted what the sales girl had quoted. I was running late, trying to get home, signed all the papers, and paid in full as requested. When I said good bye to the team of three: the young male manager, the sales girl, and the photographer/make up girl, none of them made eye contact with me; and barely said goodbye. Before the purchase, everyone's demeanor was warm, nice, and friendly; now they were cold, and evasive towards me. At this time, I was the only customer in the store, neither one of them seemed upset with each other, or preoccupied with any task. They were all just standing around the front desk. The negative "vibe" and intuition I got from them was... "Angie, you've just been scammed." Of course I have no proof of this, but unfortunately my gut feeling is always right. The next day I went away for a 1 week vacation. All this time I was thinking... "I got ripped off, " and very upset with them, and with myself for allowing it to happen.
When I came back from vacation, I read all the Glamour Shot complaints on- line, and there and then, I knew that I was right. I wanted to make sure that I had my photos in hand, before I confronted the store manager with the price package that I was given. I went to pick up my photos, and saw the CD, and everything looked great. Now with pictures in hand, I asked the manager if I could see the package print-out of my photos. When the girl originally showed me the prices, she had them hand written on a piece of paper, no formal store paper. The manger said he didn't have that paper, that something is wrong with the computer. Ah ha! I went on to tell him about how I felt, that I was scammed, even though I have no proof. I stood my ground, and told him that I would never do business with them again, nor recommend them to anyone.
After the fact, I realized that wedding photos with a professional album can run you from $1, 000 on up, and here I just got a few sheets of over priced paper. I hope all out there will read this comment, and learn from my mistake. Always go with your first gut feeling; it never lies to you like other people do. I'm sure these young employees are following the store policies, I don't really know, but, regardless, these pictures are completely overpriced, so please beware.

I can not believe these stories, I had the same experience with my 5 year old child. Here is how the scam works. They encourage you to bring multiple outfits/props, therefore making selection of photos more difficult and confusing. This is a classic bait and switch operation, the mafia is cheaper. They show you a package for a child they starts at $99.95 for 1 8X10, 2 5X7's, and 8 wallets, they will NOT break this into different poses NOR will they give you rights to a digital image, NOR will they switch out wallets for any other size of photos (how many wallets could anyone need?) of your photos unless you are willing to pay nearly $3, 000. I am not kidding. They start quoting you prices in the $3, 000 range on pictures of a child, that barely need retouching and have a few digital coloring effects. I ended up paying $200 for a dress and one cute change of outfit and $900 to Glamour Shots. FOR: 4 poses out of 80 and a slide show that is USELESS other than for a memory, you can not print photos off of this CD. It is more like a wedding momento so you can be reminded of all the photos you couldn't get the 'picture mafia' to unlock with thousands of dollars. To walk out of that place with anything that is framed is about $700 plus tax. They use high pressure sales tactics, tell you that the company will erase your digital images within 48 hours if you do not sign right there and then (after you are exhausted after the whole picture taking process) and have a mystical pricing system that is not written for you to see anywhere. It reminds me of used auto sales, vacuum, and snake oil classic rip off scams. I will end up with a few sheets of unframed pictures in an envelope for my $1000 that I didn't have. I can't imagine how they get any repeat business. They better stick to very elite areas. I even noticed on their web site a new spring special for $9 for a 5X7 and mini wallets. HAAAAAA... BAIT AND SWITCH! They offer you finance agreements for no interest for 6 months on ripping you off. I did get some nice pictures of my beautiful daughter; but with technology advancing daily, other outlets can do this kind of work. If you have $3, 000 laying around the house, hire your own personal photographer already! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! HIGH PRESSURE, RIP YOU OFF FOR MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF MONEY USING YOUR LOVE OF YOUR OWN CHILD TO DO IT! 1. slick bait and switch 2. emotional slide show to sentimental music 3. huge price quote to see how far they can push you 4. offers of mounted prints for $700 and up 5. a slide show with no copyright value 6. their hair and make-up 'artists' have no qualifications or stylist/make-up licence ( I can't imagine their make-up is hygienic), a classic example of a very, very unscrupulous practice. You are a pretty low business if you use the love of a child and other emotional components to rip off people for in the thousands of dollars. You end up walking out with a a bunch of loose photos that cost you a mortgage payment.

I used to work for Glamour Shots. At the time, I thought that the pricing was outrageous and wouldn't do sales for that reason. Now that I am setting up a private studio for myself, I know EXACTLY why they charge that much!
For one, store front rental in a mall is NO joke! I'm paying over 7G a month for a tucked out of the way studio, I can't even IMAGINE how much it costs to have a place in the mall!
Other expenses add up; advertising, expensive lighting and camera equipment, Internet (Which is CONSIDERABLY more than home internet) not to mention, those make up artists and photographers are making MINIMUM WAGE, even then, on a weekday we might only get 2-3 customers, and some of them might take their ten dollar picture (There are coupons for free sessions and 8x10s out there, but you at LEAST had to pay for shipping which was a $10 charge) . In order to keep the place open, and pay the paychecks, they HAVE to have high-pressure sales!

As a studio photographer on my own, I know completely UNDERSTAND why that cost so much! My prices will be substantially cheaper, because it's just me, but I"m not going to have much of an advertising budget except for craigslist, and future remains to be seen whether I"ll still have a studio in a year.

If you don't like it, go to craigslist and look up a local photographer who's work you like. I'm sure you'll find better pricing.
The best pricewise is always still going to be at places like Sears and JCPenney, Walmart... Places that make money from OTHER things as well and just happen to have the extra space. Not always the best quality though.

Glamour Shots Licensing Rip off and liars

I recently visited the glamour shots at Arizona Mills in Tempe Arizona.

the experience was ok in the store, it was after the session that the fun started. The makeup was ok nothing really that stood out and I agree with another poster that the makeupis caked on.

Since I dont live in Arizona I asked for my free portrait to be mailed to me. they called me in a week that my portrait was ready and that there was a re-order special for all my photos on a CD. I ordered this and was promised the photos would be re-touced and mailed to me in 2 days. this became a week and I called atleast 7 times, the manager refused to speak with me. I finally called Glamour shots customer service and was given the # of the owner. she finally got my CD and photo mailed to me but the CD is not touched as promised.

Save your money, this store is a complete rip off in prices during the session, they then call after 2 weeks to offer a discount. getting the photos is a pain and customer service is non-existent. They probably hire people with the lowest IQa and a shady background.

In October 2013, I had photos taken at a location in Deptford NJ. I selected Glamour Shots because I brought into the deceptive advertisement from Groupon for 70%. After taking the photos, the employee closing the dea, l informed me the discount was for the makeup and hair session ( I did my own hair). Expecting to spend $200 the most, my bill was almost $500.00. And was told, I had to make a decision before I left the store (now a scam is quite recognizable). I must mention some of the backdrops were either inappropriate for my outfit or just dingy and worn. Trying hard to recover from sticker shock, I requested the manager contact me. When I spoke with the young manager about a week later, she made an attempt to appease the situation by eliminating certain items from the package that would reduce the cost by about $100. The photo shop process, or touch ups of the originals were unsatisfactory and sent back a second time. Since then, I've returned to the store 3 times and each time, no one seems to know about the pictures. It is now March 2014 and I received my 6th billing statement. I contacted the creditor, who states I have to take my complaint directly to Glamour Shots. No response from customer service. DiBris

I work for GS. We do rip people off. We tell everyone our Glamour touch ("Adobe Photoshop retouching") is sent to a lab, but we do it in the store when your not looking. We retouch quick to save money. You will be able to tell a bad touch up job if the detail under your eyeballs is gone. That detail under eyeball is natural and tell the person has an eyeball. The employs are paid an hourly low wage or commission which ever is higher. This might explain the high pressure sales. We have a three day special for seven dollars at most stores that has been up for a year, but if you ask when it started we will lie and tell you it started today. If you call up GlamourShots they will tell you there hair and makeup is 19.95 or 29.95 but if you walk to the store you will see the (Seven dollar) sign for high and makeup. They will do there best not to let you know about this special. One more thing about the seven dolor sign, we say hair and makeup with the photo session is normally 30 to 40 dollars and you can get all that for seven but that is a lie. GS does not charge for a photo-session. Our photographs come from a low megapixel camera that is blown up beyond its compatibility which softens the image and looses sharpness. The wall displays are photos glued to foam board framed with a out glass. That means it will eventually peal with the dust/sun destroying your photograph, so think about that when you pay 1200 for your 30x40 or 460 for your 20x24, quality is not what you are paying for. GS has a application they try to make you fill out so you will be ready to spend 1000 dollars on photos, the only thing we don't mention is that when we check if your qualified for the credit card and you are rejected it WILL hurt your credit score. Finally, but not least what I find as the biggest scam to GlamourShots is there wall of fame telemarketing or specials after you pay. You were told the best deals for you photographs are made at the day of your session, but if you wait two weeks or more you can get all your images on CD for 500 or less or a better deal to pull more money from you. You will not receive a wall of fame call unless you purchased around 1000 package or more. SO in other words your best deals is after the session. Just come in with your free 8x10 that they always offer on the web site and they will hold the rest of the images for you. Better yet if you want good photographs go to a photograph who has skill. GS hires random people who are will to work for low pay. Do you expect people at McDonald to give you top of the line big mack, No! Don't expect that from GS employees. You probably get more for your money if you gave tips. That is my advice and info from within.

Glamour Shots Licensing Rip off

I had my pictures taken about a month ago at the Glamout Shots studio at the Parks Mall in Arlington, Texas. My mother, who is now deceased, had her picture taken at Glamourshots about 10-15 years ago and gave it to me as a gift, which I cherish to this day. They did her hair professionally, her make up and did a beautiful job. Considering her age, they had her wear a hat as well and it helped hide some of the flaws on the face that come with age. My experience was not the same.

The person who did my make-up and hair was the manager. He did a terrible job and hair and they were not busy - I was the only one there.

When you cake on make-up and tons of powder on a middle aged woman then she smiles, guess what, wrinkles really show up when you smile. The make up was just thrown on rediculously with no art to it at all and my hair was supposedly "done" with a curling iron stuck in it twice. I have short hair, but even I have to use the curling iron in it all over, not just in two places! I was really looking forward to the event of having my make up done professionally and a hairdo done professionally. Instead I had a flat head of straight hair and my make up looked rediculous, but I thought they knew what they were doing and it would maybe show up different in photos. I was wrong.

Now I realize why they do your make-up that way, so you HAVE to get the extra cost of the next step up with the enhancement finish for them to look halfway decent. I had cakes of make up in the wrinkles under my eyes which really showed up in the photos. My eyelashes didn't even show up and they are long and thick but since he didn't even bother using an eyelash curler you couldn't even see them. My make up

looked terrible!

Then when you sit down to review your photos and make selections, you're sitting several feet back while they're on a computer screen and you cannot really see or get a glimpse of what your pictures will really look like until you get them. Then you have to make this decision from what you see on the tiny copy screen and pay for them. They have no refund policy. When I went to pick them up only after I called three times after their due date, I just had to accept the crappy photos anyway or have nothing for the money I paid. I can see now why you have payment

up front because if it was when you picked up the pictures, they never would be refunding all the time since everyone realizes how crappy they are!

Summarizing I am not pleased at all with the make up, the hap hazard way my hair was supposedly done and the end results. I believe i was ripped off big time and will never go there again. They only get my money once. Don't you make the same mistake.

The Altomonte springs glamour shots store is awful. The Manager tried to pressure me into buying hundreds of dollars worth of portraits and when I said no He tried to stare me down. They even tried to get me to let them apply for credit though them. I said no once and was asked to do so 3 more times. The portraits were awful. I went for Easter pictures and they used a solid brick wall as a back drop. The photographer wasn't paying attention at all and was busy talking. I felt like I was trapped there for 4 hours. The whole experience was terrible. Do not waste your money at Glamour shots it is a BIG rip off.

Hi my name is Karla Cothren and I own a self premoted photography business in Hot Springs Arkansas. I do Glamourshots as well though I am in no affiliation with that company. I usderstand totally what you all are complaining about when you talk about the caking on of make up and the crappy hair styles. Tricky Pixel Photography which you will find on facebook is my company and I have made it a my goal to show the world that you don't have to wear all that make up and do all those things to have a glamorous shot. I never cake make up on my clients and I let them do there own hair unless they need help. I started my business with the understanding that woman want to feel beautiful the way they are and show that through amazing posses and good light. Now I know what you may be thinking here is another photographer that wants to just put her name out there. Well that is true but, I encorouge anyone to look at my work and ask the people I have shot with then take that info and compare it to glamour shots. Best of all I am not some snooty photographer with a cold room and foney photos. believe it or not I use a point and shoot and I go on location where the light is the most natural. I let the models have fun with interesting posses and be there own creation. This is the true way to capture the true beauty of a woman and it works. My clients every single one will tell you they love shooting with me and when a model loves shooting with there photographer they will love there shots too. Thanks Karla you can email me about nearby shoots at trickypixelphotography@gmail.com

Glamour Shots Licensing Ripp off & bad communication

I wish I would have read some of the Glamour shots complaints before setting up appointments for myself and three of my friends. We experienced the following:

A. I was told that that all four of us would be taken into the makeup/photo sessions at the same time...having our make up and hair done same time.

NOT! We arrived and was taken in one
at a time, as there was only one makeup
artist and one photographer...and there
was no wizard works from the make up
artist...basic make up applicatiion. Two
other customers were thrown in between the
four of us also...causing more delay

B. The prices were outrageous and the best higg dollar deal was the $195 package OF ONE POSE ONLY!

Prices were not discussed...just a deposit
of $20 a person I had to place two weeks
prior...then day of call to remind...I
had to fight for the four of us all getting there
and being processed same time...AGAIN...
which never happened anyway. We were
there for five hours.

C. I was told to bring clothes...when I asked if they
had any there, they said yes, but bring clothes.

Thank Goodness I brought clothes for all of
us, as the clothes they had there was HORRIBLE.
My first experience with GS...they had boas,
jewelry, tops, foils, furs, leather, etc. I have
seen better clothes at GOODWILL. Horrible
selection...I pity the person who doesn't bring
clothes.

D. We were told that they enhance the ONE POSE we order...we would need to pay $80 per sheet to have further enhancing.

The basic enhancement was bad...lip lines not
covered, lines that could have been somewhat
smoothed, wasn't...

E. From the beginning, I told them I needed a CD
for my printer to make business cards and they said they would give it to me. Also, they wanted $350 for the CD of all our shots, and of course, after spending $1200...we said no!

They charged $120 for the CD...one picture
CD! The $350 CD was sold to us for $150
ONLY due to the fact that a friend of mine
that had a GREAT experience at the arrowhead
was sold to her for $100. The CD is worthless
to them...so offering it at a bargain deal should
have been the first option.

I will have to agree with all the complaints read...except the make up artist and photographer was pleasant (we tipped the makeup artist)...but the manager who is now gone...was just not workable and you could tell there was commission involved. When I picked up the photo's I was also charged a shipping charge and the man uin charge...when asked about the minimal enghancing said...Oh, that is extra and you don't want all the imperfections gone...well...lower lip liner above the lips is a fubar...not customer age problem. 12 yrs ago they were good...now, as mentioned Olan Mills or evemJC Penny's could do as well for 75% less price or you would get way more for the money.

I called the store and got all the correct information. They also told me to bring wardrobe from home because I may not like theirs. They said expect to be there any where from 2-3 hours. I asked if four people can be accommodated they said yes. They also told me that 2 makeup artist would be doing all four of us. So it may take a bit longer. They also told that we need to pick and pay for our order that day. They would come back in about 7 to 10 business days.
The session I was quoted was $59.95 for hair/makeup/photo session/ viewing. A regular session for me is $150 no hair and make up.
Cds are $120 and can be on a volume discount. Which is fairly reasonable considering other photographers charge $150.00 like my self and upwards to $200.00 an image. Its all about how the photographer values their work.
For the wardrobe anybody looking to take pictures in a boa or a leather coat is insane. It is so out dated. I would blame Glamour Shots for not carrying these things anymore.

I am a photographer in the great state of AZ. I feel that sometimes people only hear what they want. That when the communication get bobbled. They do give out quite a bit of information for one to get all at once. But you being a consumer should ask questions. You don't by a car that has no radio or AC without say, "Whats the deal?"
Just saying.

Also not a good place to be picking up business. Once a complainer always a complainer.

I am a Photographer that is about to open up a studio in Glendale.
1. As far as the disc is concerned... The disc is very valuable with all of the photos because of this. When you release a disc of all the photos without the watermark, or even one photo, the photographer does not get the credit for this photo anymore. This also means that the purchaser can sell and distribute the photo in any way they choose without giving any compensation. This wouldn't be a problem if it was originally arranged as a business shoot, but most of the shoots are personal, so to ensure that people don't make more money off of them, you release prints only.

That being said, I think it is completely unacceptable that they did not communicate all this with you or even the time frame issue.
The rates I will be starting off at are way lower because I don't feel like people should be ripped off like that.
Also, Glamour shots is a HUGE company which means you have to think about it like walmart... they really dont care, just want your money. Because when these companies are so vast, there is really no guarantee that the people you get will actually care.

ALWAYS Bring your own clothes because even if they have clothes there that are descent, they may not fit right or you may not like them. You know what looks best on you, so make sure you aren't stuck with something that goes with your individual style.

I am not sure how much you all were charged but i would love some more feedback before my own company opening so if you could email me at photography101k@yahoo.com I would love to discuss this more. Thank you! Kay Davis-Young

GLAMOUR SHOTS IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, CORRUPT COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH! I am so sorry I ever wasted my hard earned money as well as my time with them. Long story short, they are indeed a complete and utter rip off! The company has no regard for its customers. Once they have your money, they don't care if your satisfied with your purchase or not. GOOD LUCK trying to file any type of complaint if you're not satisfied because getting something done about your problem is like pulling teeth. I would strongly advise anyone who even considers going through this so called "company" to BEWARE and do all of your research before spending even a penny on their services. Also, I would strongly advise getting legal representation when dealing with Michelle from their customer service department [protected], so you do not get dicked around.

Glamour Shots Licensing Customer Service & Prices

I had received a call from the sales rep stating that the manager came into the store to review the store's sales for the week. He proceeded to tell me that one of my pictures had been selected to be hung up in the store and after 30 or 60 days (I'm not for sure how many days was quoted to me) I would get the picture and the frame and in addition to that I would receive a CD with all of my pictures on it. I was really excited until he told me that it would be a charge for this ($399) and how there was only two spots left. I told him that I was not interested because I had already spent a substantial amount of money on pictures already.

Then I went to pick up my pictures from the Deptford Mall location. I had a few questions about getting the pictures that I had purchased on a CD and why the DVD I was given would not allow me to copy it. He seemed to be a little irritated because I was asking him questions. He told me that if I wanted the pictures on CD it would be $116 per pose. I proceeded to ask him why would I have to pay for the poses that I actually purchased. He said that he could only email me the one pose because that was a package but not the other because I only purchased an 8x10. I did not agree with that because I paid for that one as well. I have not received an email with the picture yet. I paid $431.00 for a value package, image collection, and an 8x10 which I think was extremely expensive but to be greeted with a nonchalant attitude because I was asking questions is unacceptable to me. To me it says the sale has been made and we do not want to be bothered anymore. This is bad business because now I would not recommend Glamour Shots to any of my friends and family for this reason as well as because of the prices.

Overall, this experience has been a learning experience. As a consumer I feel as those I was suckered by a good salesman.

I have to agree that the entire Glamour Shots experience is a huge rip off. I went to the Deptford Mall, NJ store and was horrified by the prices I was quoted. Yes, I finally did agree to a package with an ENORMOUS price tag, but if I had it to do over, I NEVER would have gone. I do NOT recommend a visit to any Glamour Shots unless you are VERY rich and are prepared to spend ridiculous amounts of money on your photos.

i worked at glamour shots for a while and what i found out was it depoends on the manager. i went through 4 managers! the second was the best and lasted the longest.aside from the job being about commision you would get calls and yelled at from a district manager 3 states away if you were on hourly pay. i am already a makeup artist and thought it would be good to promotre myself from this place. instead it was embarrassing to see the look on people's face when they are quoted a $7000 price for pictures. the manager there now is just short of a pickpocket. its ridiculous. i wouldnt send my worst enemy to this place

Glamour Shots Licensing unprofessional- inappropriate

Hello, I am writing to inform you of a most unpleasant experience that we endured at the Avenues location of Glamour shots.
I took my 18 year old daughter in for her senior pictures session last night 3/27 at 5 PM. I chose Glamour shots for this occasion so that my daughter could be pampered and because of the quality of images that I have seen produced through this establishment. I dropped her off at precisely 5PM and chose to walk around the mall while she had her session. When I returned at 7PM to view the final product, I was not impressed. Her hair was a mess and the makeup was caked in her eyebrows. The images that were produced did little to complement my daughter’s beauty. My daughter was blessed with a large chest; this asset was exaggerated in some of the frames to the extent of inappropriate.

After sitting through 20 minutes of being pressured to purchase a 500 dollar package that included a disk for 250, I informed the salesman that I was not interested in a disc. He continued to insist that I spend at least 400 dollars. I informed him that I could not afford to spend that much and that my budget was around the 200 dollar mark. It was at this time that I gently voiced my concern of being displeased with the less than perfect hair and makeup. He became irate and told me that I was wasting his time. He said “ I had my wisdom tooth removed today and I still came to work.” He also commented that he was “feeling good”, earlier in the review. He continued to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the pictures, he looks at pictures all day and these are fine. He further went on to tell me that if I did not purchase any pictures that I would be charged 130 dollars for the hair and makeup and a sitting fee. It was clear that my being dissatisfied was not an option and I would pay for something.

The salesman continued to scream at me, I should have gotten up and left, but I did not want to be charged and have nothing. I asked the salesman to lower his voice and requested a different associate. He said “ That’s fine, I’m done with you anyway, I’m out.” It was at this point that he clocked out and left. His behavior was the most inappropriate unprofessional display that I have ever been subjected to endure. The photographer was completely embarrassed, apologized profusely and did his best to complete my order to my terms.

I would like to say that I did not lose any sleep over this, but that would be untrue. I woke at 5:30 this Saturday AM after not being able to fall asleep until midnight last night. I have been in customer service in the medical field for 15 years. The way I was treated is utterly unacceptable. I do think that if I were a man or if my husband had been present that the salesman would not have screamed at me the way he did.

I sent this letter to Glamour shots corporate offive only to find out that it was forwarded to the branch. It took two e-mails for the manager to call me back. Nothing was done to rectify this situation.

Heres my letter to Cady & Cady Studios this AM.
"
This is the craziest thing I have dealt with on a company. I am a customer from**** **** School. My daughter attends elementary school there, for which your company came to the school, to do their pictures. Would've been great and wonderful had I not had to run around the globe 3x to get them from you. After all, you sure took the time to cash my check. Perhaps that rings bells. I have heard the whole schools pictures did not come in, but my daughters Teacher said the teachers did. How that makes any sense, I do not know. How your phone has not blown off the hook about it, I do not know. I do not know if I was the only one this happened to. I do not know how the company has not lost money on this, considering the cost of mailing out all these pictures. Our pictures were taken sometimes in April. I just received mine in the mail yesterday. I was half expecting it to be of someone else s child, considering on my THIRD phone call to your company, I had to give my child 's name, and all of our information, + the background I chose + our address. What I want to know is, , how do you not know that. How is it OK for a portrait company who only has 3 tasks./ get a good picture, develop the picture, get it to the customer. 1/3 isn't really good, you know? Why take my information, and then not use it. Why did the school not contact everyone and et everyone who ordered know. They blamed you guys. Even still, no matter whose fault it was, I shouldn't have had to chase my pictures down 5 days before the end of the school year. The school said you would mail them. I had to ask the school what happened to my pictures. I should have never HAD to ask. YOU had my info. I should've been emailed, called, and USPS mailed, or at the VERY least ONE of the THREE. You never did. I called talked to a customer service rep, who forwarded me to a "manager" a man, whom I left a message for, who didn't even show me the common courtesy of returning the call, even though I said my phone number THREE times (and slowly too). I had to call back, AGAIN, and demand my picture, this time, someone finally took my info, when I said, I wanted it free, I was told my order would include an extra 8x10. (I only ordered one in the first place) this was not OK by me by any means, I feel for all the hassle I have gone though, I should have received a whole package for free, plus a refund actually. So one, a joke! Then to not get it? A slap in the face! . But lo and behold when I got them (they actually came, almost 3 months later... might I add) there was ONLY ONE 8x10 in there. Am I shocked? Not really? Do I plan on taking this up with the BBB? (< The Better Business Bureau) Likely. Especially if I do not hear back from your company within 36 hours. Do I plan on posting this on for my 250 blog's facebook fans, plus my husband 600 friends, and my 500 friends? Total facebook out reach 1000 Likely. Do I also then plan on tweeting this to my 650 followers? Likely. Do I then also plan on posting about it on my personal review and giveaway blog? Why, yes, I do!
(The total Social Network outreach totals +2, 000 if you didn't catch that. )
Have a great day

Glamour shots sucks! I can take the same quality pictures at Kmart. I should have used my judgement and really gotten a professional photographer instead of going to the Newport News location a few weeks ago. I will absolutely never go back. this post just shows the level of professionalism they have. And the cost. Not even gonna go there. Pure robbery for [censor] pics I can have done anywhere. Picture people are better than GS.

Wow, this string of comments is really inappropriate and unprofessional. Coming from a customer, the business owner really should keep his comments to himself if he isn't going to give us facts and only facts. As a customer, I'm not interested in back and forth bickering between management and a former employee. This argument became too personal and emotional vs. sticking to the business of it. The responses from GS show a lack of professionalism. Regardless of what a former employee says, as a business owner, it is your responsibility to be tactful in your responses. Instead, they came off as very defensive and almost unbelievable. I can't help but lean more toward believing the former employee as you did not address most of the items he brought forth. As a customer, I'm interested in the product and the service. Period. I don't care about company fueds. This is a business and it should be run like one. Name calling, mentioning employees names - it is all inappropriate. As a business owner you know that confidentiality is key. As an employer you don't cross that line - you just don't - regardless of whether or not you feel this former employee is slandering your company. Crossing that line really does harm to your business because it does not appeal to your customers. Perhaps the first complaint was truly from a customer and if that is the case, then shame on this store. Even the new manager who responded was unprofessional as well, so I'm not feeling very confident in this store's abilities. I have now decided not to go to glamour shots as I originally planned.

Sincerely,

A Disappointed Former GS Fan

I did try to complain about the sexual harassment but because it is a franchise, corporate couldnt do anything about it. It wasn't just me that got harassed, it was the customers too. When they left the owner and manager would pull up their pics and either say they were fat and ugly or how hot they were, even with underage girls. I was very uncomfortable working there. the manager and owner were always talking about sex. The owner used to brag how he cheated on all 3 of his wives. It was a discusting place to work and thats why I quit cause i felt violated. I am in no relation to the other employee thats been saying stuff but i agree with them... dont go to glamour shots... it is a total scam and they also will sexually harass you

Randy you have never been a manager... you didn't work here for years...stop this nonsense. I know where you work and please don't make it any more of an issue than it is. I hope you are making some money you have a baby on the way and I've seen how you live. ENOUGH

oh trust me, I am working and making more money then I ever made there, probably making even more then you, if you are the new manager... because he does not pay management fairly at all. If you are washing the backdrops... then that is good and at least something has improved since I left.
If you really know the man like you say you do, then you're too scared to say what you really think of him. Because no one that knows him likes him. Glamour Shots is not even a real photography job. You're right I am bored, thats how this whole thing started... I was surfing complaints board and saw the complaint from the customer and it brought me back to all the hundreds of customers who complained to me about that man when I worked there.
Just wanted to state my point that GS is overpriced with bad customer service and horrible working conditions. So if people on here were to read this, they could be informed and go to a real quality studio and still pay less. Oh and the reason I don't put my name out there is because I know this man and I know he will do nothing but call and harass me and threaten me with empty threats

I am currently an Employee at Glamour Shots and I just wanted to express my disgust with the slanderous remarks these "former employee's" are making. If you had sexual harassment issues you should have filed complaints, which no one ever did. The only thing I can assume is that the above statements are lies. I have known this man, the owner, for a long time and these statements are NOT TRUE. I work with him EVERYDAY and never once has he been innappropriate with me (and I'd like to think Im extemlly good looking). As far as the hygene of the backdrops... I personally take them home at least twice a month and wash them. And the ones I cant wash at home I send out to the dry cleaner ( I have reciepts to prove it). This is a childish game of badmouthing people. If you no longer work here ...LET IT GO. Move on. If you had all these issues you should have DONE SOMETHING instead you hide behind a screen name making anonymous statements because you are bored. GO TO WORK.

Glamour Shots Licensing THIEVES! i was mislead and lied to when it came to prices

IN REPLY TO BRENDA OAKLEY:

My name is miriam and i too went to glamour shots thinking i would love it but shortly after i arrived i realized it was not all it seemed, the owner was in the studio yelling and cursing at the manager? i was shocked!? i thought how could this even be the owner, he was a very rude and nasty man so i sat and waited for my appt, they were running an hour behind but i got no call previous to my appt to at least give me heads up ? by the time i got hair and make up completed i was soo frustrated and tired and was not happy with the make up at all.

i think i spent 400 dollars that day due to the girl showing me the images pressuring me to buy more images..then once i so many selected and so many different sizes they told me they were 45 and 75 dollars a sheet! i felt cornered like i was in a sales nightmare! and the photography was not what i expected, i think jc penny could of competed easily.

any how i also found BluDiamond Studios in San Antonio on Walzem rd and i go to them for every photo need that comes up, they have never charged a sitting fee and the make up and hair was wonderful! im a professional model so this studio absolutely delivers when it comes to quality, affordability and super service i will also be a forever client of BluDiamond studios and i will always refer them to my friends and family

it would not surprise me to find that james o'neal is the owner of the northpark store then, since threats and scare tactics and high pressure is what i got from the snotnosed uppity brat jake who runs the northpark store. the dude spent ten minutes telling me i was a lousy customer and that if i was just there for my free pic and hair and make up that i really didn't need to stay. go somewhere else. anywhere else. this was my fourth trip to GS. i used to go to the one in town east...they were great. never again.

James O'Neal is the owner, and that is nothing surprising to me. I walked in on him screaming in the middle of the mall at Stonebriar at his staff. His Irish temper is not really a great method of motivation for the staff (he uses scare tactics, yelling, and threats as his "sales motivation". It's no wonder they have clsoed a bunch of stores.

Try Studio 121, the owner used to work with O'Neal and they split ways. You'll get much better service there.

Glamour Shots Licensing Complete Scam and Rip Off

I set up an appointment online to do Glamour Shots with my family (about 8 of us). When they called me to confirm that we were on for the appointment because it was the day after Thanksgiving and they felt it'll be busy, they also asked me to put down $20 to hold the position which I was fine in doing because I thought that it would go towards the total price. I asked the guy what the packages were and he gave me a line of BS that said that Packages start at $130 and that he'd explain them to me that day. When I got there he said the same thing and that payment was due that day and I signed a contract. My sister had gone there 2 years ago and it cost her only $300 for just her package. We took a series of pictures and tells us to be back in a 1/2 hour. He wasn't ready in a 1/2 hour so we waited and waited and waited. Then he finally showed us 6 (JUST 6..where the others went, I don't know!) out of the 100's he took of us and some of them we didn't like. We picked out 5 that we really liked and he said...well, you can do this and that and this and it'll cost you this...OVER $2, 000! He said that each picture that he took was $130 PER PIC and that if we wanted it on DVD it would be $160 per picture because we'd be buying the copyrights. We ended up buying 4 pictures on the DVD which ended up costing us $640 anyway and got no hair and makeup done! What a freaking rip off! It was much cheaper to have Kodak develop the pics for us then it would've been for GS! And it's been over a month and I still haven't gotten my free 8X10. We were all soooooooo disappointed & disgusted at what a scam this is. We could've gone to Sears or JCPenney's and got an entire package for a heck of a lot cheaper then this place. I don't recommend anyone going there...it's highly overrated and a total RIPOFF!

GS has a application they try to make you fill out so you

Glamour Shots Licensing Prices

I took my Daughters (twins) to Glamour Shots to have their pictures taken for their 17th birthday. The pictures were beautifull! I cried when I seen them, the pose, their clothing (which they brought with them) their make-up, their hair all of it made them look like they stepped out of a modeling book. When it came time to find out the price we nearly fell off our seats, It was over $7000.00 for their photos! No one in their right mind would pay that much! So we alimitednated some photos two different times and the cost was still in the thousands. We had to pay for $90.00 for the touch up on the only picture we got one 8x10. One free photo for two people. What rip off this place is! Word of mouth is the best advertizement and believe me I will let hundreds know what type of place this is. This whole ordeal made me feel like I am a bad Mother for not checking this place out more!

Wow... I used to work there and feel bad when people would pull out 3 different credit cards to pay for their pictures (I did NOT do sales, just a photographer). I have my own studio, and I understand why they charge so much, it's EXPENSIVE to keep a studio, but the sales tactics IMO make me uncomfortable. I'd rather be up front about my prices with my customers rather than have them come in thinking that they are going to pay Walmart prices and get professional quality... it just doesn't happen!
It makes me sad that now they're signing people up for credit cards on top of the high pressure. That just seems so wrong to me!

I really don't think that there is anything legally wrong with what they are doing, I just find it morally reprehensible to try and talk someone into buying something that they don't NEED and cannot afford.

I made a Glamour Shots appointment after receiving a free sitting and 8 x 10 photo. I decided to call and get some pictures taken. I should've known this was not going to end very well when they asked me for a "deposit" to hold my appointment.

A week later I'm heading into the appointment, very execited. I have curly hair so i asked them if they wanted me to do the work for them and straighten it before going in. The woman said "oh no we can do it for you". What a bad idea, if you have a time limit for the amount of time you want to spend on someone's hair and makeup, do not tell them you will take care of it. They rushed thru my hair and makeup, the store mananger even came back to do my hair at the same time i was getting my makeup done, really the place was empty they could have very well taken their time. Since she was rushing in doing my hair, she BURNED my ear!

Moving on to actually taking the photos. The photographer was not bad, the only complaint is, aren't these photographers supposed to tell you if you look good or not, you know stand up straight smile, smile don't smile?

After taking all the photos, I had to wait 45 minutes for them to get the pictures ready. Here's where I should've just walked out. When I first got there I saw a couple going thru their photos alone and taking their time. The manager wouldn't let me go thru my photos alone and I even asked about it all she had to say was "no we go thru with you". Really? So we proceeded to go thru my photos and I asked about pricing and wanted to see a pricing sheet and she would not let me see anything on paper. Odd but I moved forward. She showed all the poses and I could tell she was just trying to make a sale because I clearly did not look good in the photo with a kiddy hat and she was " oh you look great, doesn't she look great". I feel like I was being rushed and bullied into a sale. Still I stayed because I figured what I don't like they can just GLAMOUR TOUCH it up. All I really wanted was the 8 x 10 and that was it, but she kept telling me different things about deals she can make me. I noticed she had a clip board that had the prices on there and when she noticed i was looking at she said" thats not supposed to be in there" and put it away. I told her I wanted to think about it and I didn't have the money. Her solution was a glamour shots credit card, thinking i would not be approved she got me a credit card. Great. Now down to pricing, $1000s to get a few poses so she kept adding poses and saying I can give you this for this and that. It started off at $600 and when she did all her calculations it went up to $1200, and at that the touch up i actually wanted was going to be EXTRA! I was rushed and I got so many poses that I caved and got bullied into the sale, thinking they are going to come out great so in the end it will be worth it. However, when I left i still felt terrible, buyer's remorse I didnt want them at all anymore.

They did the order and said it will be 10-14 days. Two weeks later, I'm excited to see my work, I pick them up and head home. I get home and it was not what i expected. My 8x10 had a bobby pin sticking out my head, someone couldn't notice that and take a few seconds to airbrush it out? Then I proceed to open my cd, it was even worse then my 8x10, they completely skipped over like 2 poses that were supposed to be touched up and the touch ups they did do were horrible. I didnt have a CHIN in one of the pictures because they airbrushed it out. What kind of company is this that they charge so much for "professional" photos, and you get such unprofessional results? I called they manager right away and told them of my dissatisfaction and all he could say was " you can retake your poses for $10 a pose" since it wasn't "their" fault.

I was highly dissatisfied with this company. It's a rip off and they bully you especially if you are young! Word of mouth is the best advertisement! They won'be getting good feedback from me.

I too went to the Florida Mall Location this weekend with my husband. They told him the photos were $45.00 per sheet so he and I decided to take the photos. They lied to us and at the end wanted $7500.00 for the photos. They are not honest at all. They gang up on you and push you to buy photos. They tell you that due to memory space they cannot store the photos. My husband asked for one evening to think about it and they told him no. He made a comment and said to the manager- "I feel like I am at a car dealership." I felt so badly after the photoshoot that I swore I would never walk into that place again. They are a rip off. They make you feel glamorous then you walk out at the end feeling terrible. What a horrible experience. I was so stressed that I felt terrible the rest of the night. What a horrible Saturday and what a waste of 6 hours.

Glamour Shots Licensing CUSTOMER SERVICE

Just wish to make you aware at the disappointing customer service I received at the Kennesaw Georgia Mall
I went in to take baby pictures for a story book shoot…Saturday 9.6.08
there was no ac in the store… it was sooo hot.!
When we were done at 1 pm they told me to come back in 20 minutes I did then they said 20 more I did come back …. Then again … so I came back again… finally at 4 pm I ran out of diapers and formula and was fed up I then told them I had to come back some other day.
I came back on Thursday to view images and only 4 fit the picture and they were not of the baby smiling ( probably cause it was hot! ) so we had to retake some pictures over! I then ordered and paid Thursday 9.11.08
I called to verify if my cd and booklet purchase was at the shop and they indicated it was ready to pick up. 9.20.08
I was helped by a young very thin young African American lady who proceeded to open my package for me and upload my cd image of a story book picture I purchased.her name was CHERI
I was very very disappointed with the story book products final result.. my baby’s image was great however the graphics were truly bad. They were of center and just plain wrong for $200.00
The cashier proceeded to argue with me trying to coerce me into signing the satisfactory statement ..
She stated there could be nothing done to correct the situation and I had to take it home !
I asked for a manager to see if there was anything that could be done to correct the image and she stated the manager was unavailable to speak with due to she was with a client in the back and to call back Monday .
*** I was satisfied with the booklet so I requested to take those home… she took the booklets from my hands and put her fingerprints all over the pictures inside and slammed them on the desk and stated I could not take anything home if I did not sign the disclosure that stated I was happy with the cd image.
She was screaming at me and my infant was getting upset.
I asked her numerous times to please tone down her voice and she refused.
I believe if she was not paying for the product she should not try to force me into taking it home …
Secondly I paid cash for the booklet and the cd and she would not let me take my booklet home out of spite.
And thirdly … she then went on further by putting her fingerprints all over the picture book inside in the pictures putting her greasy fingerprints all over a product she did not pay for.
This type of nightmare customer service is something you do not expect from a place that charges such premium fees for their services.

Very very disappointed in the overall finalization of the transaction!
I am home now without any products after spending $302.80 on a booklet and a cd image

On the other hand the photographer was a very nice and professional and courteous and it would do you well to trade in that rude mean vindictive and pretty much crazy for no reason sales rep youngster for a pro like Kim.
Please email me when this is received.
The nightmare at your store has been the worst customer service experience ….
And customer service is what I do. So trust me I know what I’m talking about!

Glamour Shots Licensing The biggest rip off ever

I went to Glamour Shots today with my daughter to take some update photos for up coming Christmas . Besides having the lousiest makeup and wardrobe, we were informed that we needed to pay $643.00 for 4 poses which were unprofessional and cheap (I'm pretty sure, Walmart photos were better quality than these). When I came in the Manager never discussed with me that we needed to pay full amount in advance (I've being there before, and I alway paid with a deposit and the balance when I got the picture). I tried to explain to her that I was an old customer, but she abruptly interrupted me with sarcasm, saying "I told you so, before you started, that it had to be paid in full" and honestly, I don't suffer from dementia yet... I know she never said that... on the contrary, she mentioned that if we bought the package "90 days were the same as cash".

I don't care at this point if they giving a refund of the $200.00 deposit I paid, after being embarrassed in front of my daughter and other employees... it felt like I was held hostage in that place. I'll make sure not to recommend that place again and of course they lost a valuable customer.

Glamour Shots Licensing Rip Off Never received free 8x10 photo. Were quoted an outrageous price for pictures

Was quoted a free 8x10 photo. Free of charge. First of all I charged $14.95 for a setting fee. When I arrived I had to pay $25.00. Once the phot shoot started, I was not told I was to pay for the photos that day.

Was threathed the day of viewing the photos about I was going to pay that day.

I've never received the free 8x10 or a refund of any of my money. I think something needs to be done about Glamour Shots ripping customer off.

What do you consider the real Glamour shots? You can't really think they went to a fake Glamour shots! I had wedding photos scheduled and one day was called by the OWNER and told that just because I was a professional photographer she was canceling my appointment simply because her normal bridal sessions ranged from $1200 to $2500 and she felt sure I would not spend that much so she did not want to waste her time. She gave me a one day notice and I was flying to Jamaica the next day to get married. Thank the lord for the photographer in Jamaica! Glamour shots is more concerned about the money than the customer!

Shameful business practice

Glamour Shots Licensing Rip Off's Beware

Please, Please, Please... Don't use this Glamour Shot Location. They have no sense of customer service. These people work off a commission and want you to purchase as many pictures they can push on you. I was over charged by the mistake of the representative working there and when I brought this to her attention all she said she could do was give me more pictures. She wanted me to take over $620 dollars of pictures instead of my reimbursement. I didn't want to pay for her mistake and asked to speak to the manager and requested to speak to Kenny V. which didn't realize that this incompetent worker had forgotten to put me on hold and heard him that he didn't want to change the price and give me some more pictures.

Unfortunately, they had to reimburse me $420 dollars of the money however, when I called again to discuss how she miss ordered and placed one of my smaller frames on canvas (which we agreed we didn't want and she insisted that it was of no charge) he was willing to fix the problem but without returning me my money. Basically giving him $200 dollars of my money for his employee’s error.

When I spoke to Kenny V. he was extremely arrogant and cursed at me and told me to take it up with my credit card company and hung up the phone. What ever happen to "customer’s first" and professionalism? I finally tried contacting him and he wouldn't take any of my calls and have a pending case with the Franchise and Small clams. Please beware of this location this, it is obvious that he has done this before don't fall into the trap.

Glamour Shots Licensing Money stolen out of purse!

My daughter and myself had a day out and I decided to schedule us to take pictures at Glamour Shots. We haven't been to GlamourShots for some years. I scheduled my appointment I was told a little about GlamourShot but not everything in detailed. Even when I arrived they told me that I was told everything which was not true because if I knew the price was going to be a big amount I would have canceled the appointment. We took our pictures and I wasn't happy with all of them until I was told the price went up to $6000 dollars and I told the young lady I did not come here to spend that kind of money just for pictures but to make a long start short my complaint is that one of the employees took money out of my purse while myself and daughter was doing our photo session we left our purses in the bathroom where we was changing clothes. When we finish they told us to come back in 20 minutes to take a look at our photos we went to go get something to eat and I notice that money was missing out of my purse and my daughter said mom I say the money we you gave the woman the coupon for the 8x10 free portrait. I took everything out of my purse the money was gone and the only people that was there was the 2 makeup artist and other lady that was getting her hair done and other employees. I don't appreciate being charged $618.85 worth of pictures let alone money being stolen out of my purse. I know I will never again take pictures at GlamourShots it was one of my favorite place to take pictures but now I am very disappointed in the company. First of all they should have locker for the customers to were you don't have to leave your items unattended and plus employees don't have a right to go into anyone purse. This should be known at all of the GlamourShots to install lockers for their customers so this want happen to anyone else.

Glamour Shots Licensing Refund

I had pictures done at the Glamour Shots in Fairview Heights IL. They told me the lab wouldnt print one of the pictures because it was innappropraite (It was for Valentines Day for my boyfriend). I was ok with that, but i did wonder why i was allowed to order the print at the store if it was that innapropriate. I said that was fine, but that i expected a refund for the print (50$) and the airbrsuhing (70$). Well the sales rep was so "sorry" that she offered to email my photo for my problems said she would refund me. Well now they are saying the emailed picture was sufficient enough and that i dont deserve a refund for any of this. Are they serious? 120$ for an emailed picture that i could of done with a digital camera. I still have to find a company thats going print this picture and pay for the print. They have terrible customer service, they never call me back like they kept saying they would. They acted like im being difficult, just because they dont want to handle the issue. In all i paid over 200$ for 1 shot that wasnt even that nice and took 21 days to even show up. Please do not fall for this rip off!

All the glamour shots places around the country are bad. They don't have refunds...all sales are "final" but when you take your family to get pictures and you really want to get the pictues but the prices they quote are so high you say to yourself - this can't be the price but you figure - I'll go ahead. Once you leave you say - wait a second I really don't want this - you go back within the same day and they say - sorry we can't refund you. Company like that stays in business because not enough people get out and complain. You'd think that since everything in digital - it's not a big deal to cancel - I could see if they printed the pitcures and you didn't want to pick them up - okay they printed them you should have to pay for the materials labor etc...but cancel in a day, 2, 3 or 4 before anything has been done. That's a rip off. Yes this happened to me and my family and I'd like to say to anyone who works at the corporate headquarters - I hope you sleep good knowing that you have "no" customer service. Karma - I believe in it - so when your wondering why your kid has cancer - or you have your car stolen - don't wonder too hard...you did it to yourself.

The people who help me were very perfessional, but it is a rip off the pictures start at 49.99 but when you finish its about 2, 000. And also what caught my husband and i eye was a sign outside photos staring at 7.00 doll. when i ask about it they said that was for make up but it didnt sayit on the sign outside . to me that was not good. so the companyis a little dishonest but whose not.

Glamour Shots Licensing Theft of portfolio!

I am a professional freelance makeup artist. I applied at Glamour Shots for a job as a makeup artist because I'm currently in a "lean" time and would like a part-time job that fits my skills. As is usual in the industry, I took along a portfolio containing photographs of the work I've done in the past. The interview was very positive and I was asked to come back the next day for a technical interview (doing a glamour makeup look live at the store). The manager asked if he could keep my portfolio overnight to review it. As I would be back the next day, I allowed him to.

The next day, the manager was not present. I did a makeup look on a photographer who told me, "nobody ever gets to this point and doesn't get hired... Unless they're really bad at makeup". Being that I'm rather skilled in makeup application I took that to mean I would, at the very least, meet with the manager again and at that time could reclaim my portfolio.

The next week, I called in to the studio to ask about the status of my application and was told the manager that interviewed me was not working at that store anymore. He had turned control over to another manager to give his attention to a studio in his home state and hour and a half away. Despite several calls to the Orland Park Glamour Shots, the new manager refused to speak with me or call me back. I finally got a hold of the original manager at his home studio. He told me my portfolio was not in his possession and should have been left at the Orland Park studio for the new manager to review. Again, I called that studio and asked a photographer to look for my portfolio. She called back several hours later saying it was not in the studio.

Since I'm currently interviewing for positions with MAC Cosmetics, Benefit Cosmetics, and sending promotional materials to publications and agencies, my portfolio is essential. Reprinting it did not come at a small cost. To date, I still have spoken with nobody in management at the Orland Square Mall Glamour Shots. I consider this theft of personal property.

If Glamour Shots chooses to actively recruit industry professionals, they must maintain the standards of the industry - and that means return of materials after review.

The next step you should have taken was make a police report for your portfolio. I recommend that you never leaves a portfolio with original photographs and have an electronic copy available. Walgreen.com has a great way to store your images and printing is a nominal fee. However, if they are copyrighted images, you will have to get permission from the photographer. Even though this posting is old, it's never a good idea to leave your personal possessions with anyone.

Glamour Shots Licensing Total rip off!

This place is a total Rip-Off.

1. Deceptive package prices.
2. Poor quality of photography.
3. Each photo chosen by the consumer can be adjusted. "ONLY" at their own Photo Lab.
4. Adjusting a photo pushes the price up quite a bit.
5. My wife was offered a $200 package that originally cost her $500.
6. My main complaint is that they know just what they are doing. One photographer, who worked for them, explained that this is how they are trained.

I have to agree with some people on here, my wife and I went to a Glamour Shots in the Chicago NW Suburbs. Yes, it was very pricey, but we kinda knew that it would be (seriously, who doesn't?). We paid $800 for a couple poses and a small wall portrait. It wasn't the best deal in the world, but neither is Nordstrom's and I can't keep her away from there either! :P This, along with some other stores in most malls, is not for people on a tight budget. Sorry, but that is how capitalism works. But, I know when we have kids, I'll probably take them to Penney's as they only charge like $3 for each photo. But for special occasions and photos for my desk and our walls, I probably will go back to Glamor Shots, it's a decent deal if you consider you get a make-over too.

First of all if you dont have the money to go to Glamour Shots and spend money on their pictures why dont you go to walmart or penny's and do your own hair and make-up. Do you expect to spend more money for a dress if you go to Nordstroms? Duh !

e just spent $250 for a valentinbe's Day package. Pics are great, BUT...

It cost a total of OVER $500 for 1 full sheets each of two poses, plus two 8x10s, one of each pose. Oh, and they threw in 1 inch square copies of all the proofs.

You'd think as you ordered more, the price on additional shots would come down. Nope. Each sheet is $X, buy one, buy 100.

I contacted the location...

They stated on average customer's spend anywhere from $300-$500. But that is up to you. You'll customize your own package. So they leave it up to you. You could spend $45 dollars or $7000.00 it was all up to you. An how you want your photo's (B&W, Sephia, Glamourized, Color enhanced, and pearlized.)

Must have been the selective hearing. And if you like all the photo at $45 a sheet on about 30 different poses
1350 plus the 4500 for the retouching and other digital enhancements. That came out pretty clear to me. You should try to get all the info again before hand.

Me and my fiance went to Glamour shots yesterday. The location was outside of Atlanta Georgia. When my fiance called and booked the appointment she was told that the service would cost a few hundred dollars for the photos. My Fiance was excited because the place was going to do her hair, makeup, etc... Let me say this first, me and my fiance had a great time while taking the pictures. The makeup artist and the photographer were great people to work with and very professional. After we were done with the pictures the staff said give us 20 minutes to upload your pictures and then come back. Me and my fiance did just that. We came back, went through all the pictures, chose the ones we liked - about 30 in all. After we were done picking the ones we liked the manager (?) gave us the price - over $6,000.00. It blew us away. The manager said that most people don't chose that many pictures and if we reduce the number of pictures the price should come down considerably. Me and my fiance went through the pictures again and got it down to 9 or 10 pictures we really liked. When the manager gave us the new price it was still going to cost us over a $1,000 and if we wanted to get a CD of all the pictures it was going to be more like $2,000 to $3,000 dollars. I informed the man that for $6,000 I could hire two photographers and a videographer for my wedding for 5 hours. Needless to say me and my fiance left the store angry, shocked, and irritated by the experience. We spent 3 hours in the store having a great time, waiting for these fun pictures to take home to our friends and family and we walked out with nothing. To say the least I was very displeased and disappointed with Glamour shots. I believe if people really knew the pricing system that Glamour Shots uses before walking into the store than this business would have been closed a long time ago.

p.s. I went back on the web site and it looks like their specials are so sensible, but when we got in the door it was touch ups will cost you this and our special package will cost you that. Not good guys, not good!

Glamour Shots Licensing Ripped off!

The initial greeting made the two of us feel like WHAT! are you doing here? My clothing was accepted and placed on the floor in front of the door that led to the room of the photo shoot. I asked the photographer if I could have a shot of the white dress with back showing we know that never happened. But she was very courteous.

I sit next to the presenter with a witness and was told about a (5) picture package but could not have it under $621.00 I stated my budget consistently and was ignored. She would never allow me to look at the pricing book that she kept closing each time she gave a price. I asked (4) times how much does one individual photo cost she repeatedly stated $135.00 I stated I did not want the touch up or special paper but of course ignored. The free photo came with the special glossy paper but I was charged for it anyway.

I received a black and white copy of the negatives thats not recognizable and the same individual stated thats the way they come. She has worked there (15) years and she has never given a recognizable copy to anyone. I've gone there (7) times in the last (8) years with interested customers and this is the first time I received a copy I couldn't recognize.

I am ripped off for $120.00 but the rip off was larger $297.00 to be exact until I called and complained. Satisfaction will not be obtained here they are rude disrespectful rip off artist. I do have a witness and will not rest until some justice is done.

The people at Glamour Shots know just what they are doing.
My wife was offered their $200 package. Unfortunately, all
pictures go through their lab "ONLY " for touch ups. She ended up paying $500 for pictures that easily could have been done at Sears for $50. They pulled the same stunt on her regarding " cost deception" . i.e. Not giving her any idea about the original cost.
As a photographer myself , I saw the poor quality of their work and went to their shop complaining about shadows in professional pictures.
She went in for a re-shoot which I observed, This turned out even worse.
Their trick is to inform the consumer that any problems with the pictures can be fixed ONLY at their lab. These adjustments push the price up on each picture.
Bottom Line > Glamour Shots is a total rip-off because the package cost will not be your final cost due to the adjustments that they make sure are necessary.

Glamour Shots Licensing Unfair treatment of employees, passive racism!

Last night I terminated my employment with Glamour Shots at the Arbor Place mall in Douglasville due to unfair treatment. I could list off five other employees (both former and present) who will vouch for pretty much anything I say in this complaint. I am trying to start a business of my own aside from working at Glamour Shots, so when I first signed on it was under the pretense I'd be getting part time hours. Instead, on several occasions I was made to close the studio (working sometimes until 12 at night), only to turn around and open again at whatever ridiculous hour that morning (most recently 6:30 am) and work open to close. I wouldn't mind this as much if I didn't live an hour and a half away. I have to be awake 3 hours prior to arriving at the studio and no one seems to take that into account for anything.

Due to the poor management of this studio, several employees had been driven off in one form or another in a short period of time. This left the rest of us to work all kinds of crazy hours to pick up the slack. Often we wouldn't even know our hours until the day before, or sometimes the day of, and would get reprimanded for not being psychic.

Aside from the crazy hours and general slave-labor tactics, there is the issue of passive racism. Again, 5 other (former and present) employees of mixed races, as well as 1 customer (that we know of) could vouch for this. The assistant manager at the Arbor Place branch gives blatant preferential treatment to dark-skinned customers and employees. Being a mature and accepting person myself, this is not something I am used to dealing with. She repeatedly talks down to, yells at, belittles and demands the white staff to do busy work while everyone else gets to stand around, talk and laugh. I have no problem with working for my paycheck, so long as everyone else is doing the same. If any of the white staff attempts to ask a question, we would either get ignored or get an ear full of attitude. If anyone else asked, they'd get a straight and civil answer.

I am taking this complaint to Glamour Shots corporate as well as the labor board. People who have the management skills and maturity of a five year-old should not be allowed to govern other people. This is nearly 2008 (and Christmas, for that matter), racism shouldn't even be an issue in a professional setting anymore. I am not filing this complaint for myself, but for anyone else who has the displeasure of working for this company. I refuse to sit back and do nothing while people are treated this way. Anyone who feels the same should stand up and say so.

This comment is sort of unrelated to original post. What I wonder is why do you, reybrity and Pat O, assume that the manager is an African American because she is favoring other African Americans? Nowhere in the original post is it stated that the manager is dark-skinned herself, but only that she favors dark-skinned people. I think this proves, in some small way, that most people are at least a little racist - because it is racist to assume that only black people can favor other black people.

I wish you luck Jeannine. As an African American I have empathy for you in what you experienced at your previous workplace and am bothered by the manager's actions. It is apparent, even by the comment left by "Pat O" that some people are just never going to get it. Sounds like he/she and your ex manager would make a good team, both seem to be racists. At any rate, I'm glad that you didn't generalize her actions to those of other African Americans. I wish you luck in your new job search

To the comment left by Pat O: You completely missed the point of my complaint and are an idiot. I don't have anything against black people or their managerial skills. What I have a problem with is ANYONE treating anyone else unfairly based solely on the color of their skin (or sexuality, religion, etc etc). IE: idiots like you. Keep your comments to yourself.

To jenmac: I would agree with you, but I didn't actually sign up to work so far away. I was originally told that I'd be working in Kennesaw (where I lived at the time) and that somehow went out the window. I needed a job and there wasn't much else available, so I by then I had no choice. Believe me, if I'd had a choice I would not have been working an hour and a half away for $6.50 an hour under a racist ###. :)

It's all good though. Last I heard, she got fired. Justice is awesome (for me, not so much for her. muahahaaa!).

I totally agree with the complaint about how you were treated. Unfortunately, this type of underlying racism is widespread.

However, I disagree with the part about where you live and how long it takes to get to work. It's the employees choice of where to live, not the company's. They may be blamed for many other things, but not this.

Good luck!

That's exactly why I would never work under a black, they are stupid and lazy...period. If you see a black managing a store, you're looking at a sinking ship.
