Gillette unfair competition forfeiting

On Monday 19 January just before 10h in the morning I received a phone call from Terri Groenewald, who works for the competition department of Clicks. Terri informed me that I purchased a Gillette product and swiped my clubcard, so I gained automatic entry into a competion. She asked me if I knew about the competition and I said no I didn't. She proceeded to update all my details and then told me that the reason for her call was to inform me that I won the competion. I asked her what the prize was and she said it is a vespa, I do not recall the model number, including a helmet, dot tracking system, licencing and registration, all valued at R100 000. She said I am responsible for insurance and tax. I was absolutely blown away! I asked her if she was serious and she said yes, I won. I asked her 'what must I do now', to which she replied that I need to do nothing, she will give my details to the nearest vespa dealer and they will contact me to go and choose the vespa and it will all happen within 30 days. I once again said I cannot believe it and she congratulated me on winning the prize. Six hours later she phoned me to say I am forfeiting the prize because I did not sign up on the movember website, which was one of the terms and conditions. I asked her why she phoned me in the first place to tell me I won and she said it was an error on her side, she is sorry. I was totally shocked and then phoned her back to say how unfair it is to tell someone you won a prize without checking if they meet all the criteria first. She just apologized and said there is nothing she can do. She phoned me back after a few minutes to offer me a hamper as an apology for the inconvenience. I phoned her back this morning to state that I am not happy with that at all and this was completely Clicks' error, why should I suffer the consequences? She phoned me back later and offered me a hamper from her supplier and a R1000 voucher from clicks. I asked her multiple times if that is the best clicks can do and she said yes. I said I would rather not accept it right now as I do not feel it is fair. That is not a 'life changing' gift where as a R100 000 vespa definitely is. I did inform her that I will have to take it further. My point is this: why did she not check that I met all the criteria before phoning me? Surely when I asked her what I must do now, she had an opportunity to tell me about the criteria? My only conclusion is that she also didn't know about it.. She asked me if I knew about the competion and I said no, how could I register on a site to win a competion I didn't know about? Shouldn't that have made her think twice? My emotions have been in disarray since the first phone call. My question is: how do I handle this, is it fair to do this to someone? Clicks records all phone calls, so all the conversations are on record. Please how do I proceed from here?

Gillette bad blades

Hi- My question is a simple one - Why do the Gillette fusion blades or blade that are included in the package when a new razor is bought, last almost twice as long as the ones purchased in the package? This is a question that nobody can answer, and to prove that it is true, I bought a new Gillette razor at Walmart on August 16th 2014, and today makes exactly 2 months that I am using the same blade, I am still getting a great shave with this blade after 8 weeks, and the ones from the package ($40.00 for 8) only last a maximum of 4 weeks.I am now hearing that Gillette makes the ones that come with the razor of better quality, so that they last longer, and buyers will be sucked in to buy more. Please, please, I am sure hoping that somebody can give me an answer. Thanks Russell.

Gillette very poor quality item

Gillette comfort advantage sensible skin shave gell. The quality of the metal container where the gell packed is very low quality which create permanent damage to bath room and toilet floors. All my three bath room has too many rust stains where ever this product is kept. It is tragic there is no quality control mechanism in place for this product in such big company. I have taken pictures of how it get stained which will help me to file law suit if I decide to proceed. Last two occasion when this incident happened I thought that it is only for that particular lot. But the problem is there in every instances. The UPC number of the product printed in the tin container is [protected] 8

I bought the product from Costco and I am wondering how Costco sells such sub standard product from gillette as the product destroys high value bath tile/granite. I am also filing complaint with Costco.

Gillette container exploded

I bought a container of Gillette shaving foam and it exploded. The explosion completely ruined my bathroom and cost me thousands of dollars in repairs. The representative of Gillette who was handling my case very politely told me to go to hell. Fortunately I made pictures of the damage it caused to my home. The only lucky thing is that nobody of my family was in the bathroom at the time of the explosion. Pieces of glass from the mirror and metal went straight through the door and the ceiling so you can imagine the force of the explosion, it was like a virtual bomb. The fact that they don't even have the decency to apologize for this really is beyond me.

Gillette blade quality worse than inferior

Purchased Fusion 8 Pack Shaver Blades from Target Store. All blades new. I am unable
to find a good quality blade with which to obtain a decent shave. All the blades were too
painful to use in order to shave with. I reported my dissatisfaction to the Gillette Company
to no avail. I obtained a Shick Disposable shaver and obtained a better than satisfactory
shave. I have never had cause to complain about a Gillette product before this occasion.
I can not in good conscience consider the purchase of another Fusion or Gillette product.

I bought my boyfriend a 12 pack of Gillette Sensor 2 and he said the blades must have been put in wrong because they were tearing his hair out of his face. We thought maybe it was just the one that was bad so he tried a few more out of the same package and they were the same. So I picked up a new pack, this time I bought the sensor 2 plus and he said they were better. Bought some more a few weeks later and I didn't remember which ones I bought the last time and ended up buying the sensor 2. Again these blades pulled on his face. Bye bye Gillette. Time to try another brand.

I too have used Gillette, for it's superior sharpness for over 45 years. However, I have noticed for the last 14-18 months, even brand new Mach Three blades are only good for 2-3 shaves. There is no doubt inferior quality of material and hastened dullness is a market ploy to push sales towards the Gillette Fusion. I for one am not chasing the poor marketing practiced they have endulged in and am now once again on the search for something worth paying for. Any remarks in this regard are welcomed. Regards.

I too noticed a difference in blade quality. I called Gillette customer service and complained and they acted if I was the only person that had noticed the difference in quality. I've used Gillette for over 30 years and won't be buying there product any longer.

I am repeating my original comment.

I purchased a package of Gillette Fusion blades for my partner, from Pharmapacks on Amazon. When I wrote to the vendor about a complaint as to the efficiency of the blades, I was told to contact the manufacturer. My partner said the blades are not satisfactory because there is not enough cutting edge to give him a close shave. He is using a Gillette Fusion razor, specifically made for that blade. The quality of the blades, despite their high cost, is extremely disappointing.

I have used Gillett blades all life. When the sensor came out. I was quick to pull the trigger. I seemed to realize that when the Mach 3 came out, the sensor baldes fell in quality. i first thought it was my imagination. I did NOT change quickly over to the Mach 3. When I did (1 year later I was very happy) with the improvement. it was groundhog day when the fusion came out and once again when the Fusion proglide. Low and behold this week I fell onto a shaver that I had bought on a trip and stayed in my luggage since 2007. I said wow... time to proove my theory! So that night I shaved with that old shaver and it felt absolutely wonderful!. I have yet to switch to the the Fusion Proglide so I ran out to purchase one. I compared a new Proglide to the 2007 Fusion blade... gues what... They feel the same! Gillett is degrading older blades to make the new ones feel better!

I have being using gillette blades for years but this last year the quality of the blades are shocking are you trying to con the customers by using cheaper materials .The blades are very expensive so the quality should be there could you please explain why us the consumers should pay top prices for rubbish products.

Gillette their fusion blades last approximately one week instead of six months

Gillette states that their fusion blades last approximately six months but when I use each blade according to your television commercials recommendation, when the strip turns white it is time for a new blade which is about a week if I am lucky. Now how can the blades last six months according to the advertisement on the pack they come in when each blade last only a week and there are eight blades in each pack? According to even grade school arithmetic one times eight equals eight in which is the number of weeks your blades seem to last and not three weeks per blade which is the number of weeks that is being claimed by your pack advertisement. This number is obtain by the number of blades per pack divided by the number of months on the pack ( 8 BLADES DIVIDED BY 6 MONTHS) I also kept account of how long I used each blade. I am also going to submit a copy of this to the FTC and see if they are interested in this...

Im sorry but i must have thicker wiskers than everyone else but shaving with a fusion is like shaving with a brick i get cut up something fierce id have to say its the worst shave ive ever had it feels just like dry shaving !

I bought the startup kit with 4 extra blades and loved it. i went at least 9 months with the original 5 blades. 4 because i dropped the razor and broke one. HOWEVER the 18 pak at cosco is NOT the same quality. I shave every other day and have to change blades much more often.

my husband isnt happy with the your razor, fusion proglide, in the 3 weeks he as had it he as got through 2 full packets of blades, also it dont look as if he as had a shave 5 mins after doing so.

Gillette lately the razors became terrible

Gillette, I have used your products for over 55years & have usually been satisfied. However lately the razors I have been buying are terrible, I used to get 7 to 10 shaves from one cartridge now I get 3. It seems that you are either using softer steel or the ones I have been buying at sams club are seconds.I am talking about the mach 3 package with 20 cartridges in it. Needless to say I am now going to change to another brand when this package is used up which wii be very shortly. By the way I do not have a heavy beard & I always use a hot washcloth to soak my beard before I shave.

Gillette stay away

After ordering a pack of spare blades for my Gillette Mach 3 Razor, I waited for about a week for any sign of them, and this was a card from Royal Mail stating I had to pay for a small package as the sender had not paid enough postage, although they said it would be free.

After changing the blade for a new one, I tried it. Big mistake. I was left with nicks on my face as the blade was just not of a good quality. I went back to the older blade, which was sharper than the new one.

I have tried phoning them but the number does not seem to exist. Nor have they returned my e mail.

Do not use this company.

I ordered 20 Gillette Mach3 Replacement Blades on 1st September and paid by Bank of Scotland Visa /Debit card.

My order number was 4031 and £15.95 was debited from my account.

I have not received the goods and have had no reply to any of 4 e-mails which I sent to them.

Their site was closed when I tried to access it. How do I get recompensed for this despicable fraud.

Gillette customer service (product locked)

Something needs to be done in getting product in a timely fashion. This Wal*Mart location has the razor refills locked up and it has taken me no less than 20 minutes on three different locations since the first of the year to wait for customer service to get the launch codes released and someone over with a key. I have had less trouble qualifying for a concealed weapon permit than i have had in trying to purchase $20 razor refills at this location.

Suggestion: place the razor refills next to a cashier since it is required that you immediately purchase them once the customer service rep gives you the package. this will make provide ease for paying customers while maintaining the approriate security for those who steal them.

I was recently shaving with a Fusion razor blade (about my fifth shave with this blade) when the lubricating strip just fell off, making shaving difficult. The number on the blade is 3176S BE0338. I expect to get more than five shaves out of these blades. Purchased at Walmart in November, cost approximately $19.00.

I bought Mach 3 razors says one razor good for 3 shaves wasn't even good for one shave very disappointed in that product spent 19 dollars for nothing.

I purchased this from Waitrose Sunningdale . I worked well on a couple of occasions . Since then nothing comes out no matter how I squeeze the top . It is still full but I can’t get it to work.

The batch number is 23198323D1

I purchased this on July 28th .

When it did work it was very good

A section of the blue plastic bottom of my deodorant cracked and broke off. I’ve use this product for years and I’ve never had a problem. I did not abuse the packaging. Because of this, the product gushes out the top because the bottom piece moves up where it is broken.

I have a very sensitive nose and certain aftershaves and perfumes cause me great distress.The new smell is so overpowering and horrendous that I can no longer support the product. If you go back to the old scent, I’ll come back as a consumer. Best of luck on your new product.

June 21, 2023 STOP YOUR PUBIC HAIR “ down there” commercials. Such poor taste, and I will not buy any Gillette refills while these commercials are airing, and I know many of my friends/family feel the same.

The gillette 5 blades replacement, not the blades that come with the handle aren't as good as quality. I can get 5 to 6 shaves with the blades that came either the handle, the replacement blades I bought look exactly the same but 2 to 3 shaves! What gives... Been using your products for 40 years...

I just tried the above mentioned blade and is not as good as the old Sensor blades. It doesn’t shave as close and leaves to many whiskers compared to the old blade.

I recently bought three cans of the Gillette Foamy sensitive shave foam and they changed the scent! It is horrible. With no indication on the can, which is deceptive. I can't use these cans.
