Getaroom unauthorized credit card charges

I have a bill show up on my AMC that was not authorized for 3/5/18...I can't even reach someone to discuss, and I am unable to call the hotel directly as I don't the hotel this receipt is referring too.. It could be a group of hotels in Concord NC...I want to talk to some one personally or I will call AMC and stop payment now.
I have spent the last hour on 2 different numbers and unable to reach the numbers are. [protected] and [protected]

Getaroom didn't set aside the required number of days of stay

I was supposed to stay in Titusville, FL from 3/6 - 3/13, but getaroom only booked to 3/12. I thought I was dealing directly with the motel chain, but was re-directed to getaroom. Getaroom also charged $27 MORE per day than the motel's rate which I found out from the motel clerk when I was required to pay for the last day. Instead of paying $80 I was charged $107 by getaroom. Be careful when you book that you are not re-routed to getaroom as they are not trustworthy, contact the place of stay directly.

Getaroom hotel reservation

Do not use getaroom.com! I used them to make a hotel reservation which I ended up having to cancel less than an hour later. They gave me the run-around but told me they would refund me if the hotel agreed to it. When I got the hotel to agree to refund me, getaroom.com changed their story and kept my entire fare! I am disputing the charge with visa, but long story short, don't use getaroom.com!

Getaroom call center agent made an error. I was booked for a room I did not ask for.

I called yesterday thinking I was talking to Hampton Inn Antioch Tn. A call center agent agent incorrectly booked me for a room I did not ask for. I asked for a room for 2 adults with 2 beds. When he was going over the reservation he said a room for 1 adult with double occupancy. I stopped her and corrected him by saying "you said 1 adult but it's 2 adults and we need 2 beds". When I read the email confirmation I saw he did not make the correction. I then called the hotel directly spoke to Kristy who informed me I was booked for a room with a king size bed. I did not once mention a king size bed to the agent.
She said she could not make any changes. I call the reservation number back
was told since I made a non-refundable payment the can cancel and re-book which would nob be with a $70 increase. I then asked for a manager was told no manger was in but call back today between 9:00-12:00. Hope I can really speak to a manager because I will be calling back today. There's a medical reason why 2 beds are needed. One guest have a heart monitor attached to her and sleep with a breathing monitor. You already have a full payment but I'm not getting what I requested. Listen to the recorded call and you will hear me asking for 2 beds. You will not once hear me asking for a king size bed. I hope the calls are really being recorded. Right now I am not a satisfied customer. Please make this right so I can give a positive comment and not a negative one like the comments I read today. I now feel the agent did this intentionally. Please call me with good news at [protected].

Getaroom rebilled my cc a higher fee a month later

My sister and I met at a hotel in Dover DE, each had the same type room, each paid the same amount. The following month my CC statement showed the expected amount from the hotel, and an additional bill from getaroom for $70 more. When I called they said I was erroneously charged the hotel rate instead of the getaroom rate. I asked about the lowest price advertisement and they said "it doesn't always work out that way". I asked about the unauthorized charge and they said they were fixing an error. Bottom line: they charged me $70 more than I would have paid had I called the hotel myself.

Getaroom difficulty in cancelling a reservation, made on monday february 19 2018

Good afternoon I spent about half of an hour yesterday afternoon trying to cancel a reservation I made with Courtyard Miami Dadeland Hotel from March 4-5, 2018 fro Humphrey Broome. I remember seeing that I can cancel up to March 2, 2018. I first called the hotel to make the cancellation and was told that the hotel Confirmation # is [protected], but the hotel could not affect the cancellation since it was through Priceline a third party, who I should call Priceline at [protected] . The Priceline confirmation number is [protected] . I did but did not get a representative . I went on line and was chatting with a priceline representative and was told that the reservation was booked through Getaroom .com and I should call [protected] . When I called that number I was told thath I had reached Global Reservations and should call the hotel directly to speak to an agent. This has been very frustrating so I am reaching out to you for assistance.
The last four digits of the VISA Card is 0415 and the name of the guest is Humphrey Broome. In error I forgot to print the Hotel confirmation document. All I want to do is to receive a cancellation so that our office credit card would not be billed the US$313 or so. Your kind consideration would be appreciated. I am in Barbados West Indies. Getaroom agent error and wrong booking r1005046226

I called getaroom to check hotel information in New York. I spoke to an agent and told him what I needed. He gave me pricing and quoted a Hampton inn. Told me the reservation could be canceled if needed and gave me a price. I received a confirmation for a hotel that I didn't even discuss, different pricing and different room features. I immediately called back and was told that it was non cancel room and they would look into the matter. The room was cancelled but I'm still getting charged and no one will respond back to my customer care emails. The agent made a fraudulent charge on my credit card because I didn't not give him permission to charge at this hotel. These charges need to be reversed!

Still waiting on someone to contact me - going on 12 days now. I have talked to agents numerous times and told a supervisor would contact me or I would hear something via email. I have heard from no one. Getaroom doesn’t even follow thru when they respond on here that they will contact you.

Getaroom not the gaylord hotel/not lowest price/refuses to refund

Tried to log on to gaylord hotel and resort in opryland tennessee. Site sure looked like it was legitimate and gaylord's original site. Charge for room was "reduced" but included $89.27 "taxes and fees". I was led to believe this was gaylord's practice.
After I committed for a non-refundable room, I realized that I wasn't dealing with the hotel directly.
I called back and stated that I had been mislead and wanted a full refund. The best I could get was reduction of the rate by $89.27.

All should be aware that "get a room" gets you. Do not deal with this company.

Getaroom hotel room

I made a reservation for a Marriott Hotel in Idaho Falls, Idaho with a check-in date of 12/1/2017 and a checkout date of 12/2/2017. When I checked in, I asked the front desk to do a direct bill to my employer for my stay, which they did. However, I still got billed for $127.51, which was more than what my employer was charged. So my employer and I both got billed for my stay. I should not have been billed! I was told on the phone by Kerusel that the $127.50 was the regular charge for the reservation. So I was billed for making the reservation? because my employer paid for the room. My folio number on the stay from Marriott is 86188. Their records do not show any billing on my credit card, just the direct bill to my employer. Getaroom billed me anyway.

Getaroom le meriden reservation

I made a reservation for Dec. 2 at the LeMeriden hotel in Columbus, Ohio at was shocked that the $209 rate ended up being $317 after being processed (a whopping $98 for taxes and services). I IMMEDIATELY called the support number (side note: this fee was only shown after I submitted my credit card otherwise I would never have authorized) and was told that this was a hotel issue that could not be refunded. Upon check in I was apprised that the hotel has nothing to do with this and they too were aghast by the excessive fee. I should mention that I was under the impression I was booking directly with the hotel. Please help me understand what this additional $98 was used for when the amount far exceeds the city hotel tax rate and sales tax rate.

Getaroom hotel reservation website switch during booking reservation

I was on Holiday Inn Express and Suites website looking at rates for the weekend of 11/16-19. When I went to book somehow I ended up at getaroom's website but have no idea how i got there. I was making a reservation and someone else was going to pay for it I just was putting my credit card on for a place holder. Once I booked up popped a note saying non refundable. I couldn't believe it. Then I started looking further into the reservation and I can see there is an additional $125 added to the room for a tax and service fee. When I went out and went back into the Holiday Inn website and carefully went to their actual reservation page I can see that their tax is only $40.85. What the heck is the extra money for? I want a full refund and I want to book directly through the Holiday Inn website. Their rate is also less than the rate you're charging. I could get a room for $116 per night versus your rate.

Getaroom booking a hotel room

was only trying to find a special place for a gift to my family and I somehow reached this terrible site...I was on a time crunch due to most places in the Transverse City area saying they were already full for the dates needed. So when the Great Wolf Lodge came up as having that date open, I jumped on it. When filling out the form for adults and children, I filled in 2 and 2. I had to refill out the personal info at least 3 times not realizing it was changing the adult/children back to 2 /0. When I finally received the reservation info from Getaroom, it showed 2 Adults only. I called GetaRoom and had a RUDE woman to talk to and she explained I would HAVE to CANCEL AND REDO my reservation AND would be charged ONE NIGHT for canceling! I tried to explain I DIDNT WANT TO CANCEL, ONLY ADD 2 CHILDREN.. I finally told her NEVER MIND. I would call Great Wolf Lodge...she said that wouldn't change anything because THEY would have to contact GETAROOM anyway. I called Traverse city and had a WONDERFUL Customer service man treat me with great kindness and respect which GetaRoom DID NOT and I was able to work out my problem...BUT I discovered I WAS OVERCHARGED $130.44 By going through GETAROOM! HE TOLD ME TO NEVER GO THROUGH PLACES LIKE THEM...YOU WONT SAVE! Learned a lesson and I LOST $130.44 which could have been used for my kids and grandkids VACATION!

Getaroom hotel reservation cancellation policy

I thought i was booking a room directly with the hotel i wanted. Instead i saw that the room was booked through this website. i was also informed that this site sells rooms that are only non refundable. what a joke. i cancelled the room immediatly the same day when i found out. now i have been fighting with this company to get all my money back.
the incident took place on June 23rd of this year.

I needed to change my two reservations from 11/7 - 11/11 to 11/7 to 11/9. I have called every day from 10/30 on trying to get this change made. I have had weak assurance that the change was made. They will provide nothing in writing. I have called twice to speak to a supervisor. The first time they were going to be at lunch from 11:30 to 1:00. The next time I called I tried for over 50 minutes to speak to a supervisor. I stated to April that I would hold and wait for a supervisor to come online. April told me that the supervisor would only confirm what she was saying . . . that BOTH supervisors were on another call . . . she also promised that I would receive an email regarding my change (though I had been told repeatedly that they were unable to provide this - hence my escalation to a manager). In the end my call was disconnected by April and I have not been able to speak to a manager. This organization is really poor and not one that I would recommend to anyone to use (hence my post on here).

Similar situation here. Searched for hotel near Hershey Park. When found online I thought I was making reservation directly with the hotel. I clicked accepting charges for 2 nights plus taxes, however, only after charging my credit card I noticed the extra $158 fees not from Hampton Inn but from GuestReservations.Com or Getaroom.com - both are the same. (apparently that sight takes you to Getaroom/GuestReservation and it looks like you are making reservations directly with the hotel but not so) Immediately after I noticed this whole mess, I tried calling the site and didn't get anywhere with them. I then called the hotel directly - Hampton Inn, Hummelstown and they said since I made the cancellation only five minutes after the reservation, there would be no issues with them on my cancelling same. Afterwards, I made a reservation with another Hampton Inn in another town this time by calling the hotel directly. Getaroom did not want to refund me $611 for the 2 nights I had made a reservation for. Called the Hotel again and the manager said they had no records of having received my calls and they cannot agree to my cancellation request. I do have records of having called them. This whole thing has been very frustrating.

Getaroom company hijacked hotel website - scam artists

Booked a room I thought directly with hotel website and received a receipt from GetARoom.com to my surprise. Cancelled reservations in order to go through hotel and then saw GetARoom was going to charge me $407 dollars...mind you the reservation and cancellation happened within 27 minutes of each other. In their receipt they state the cancellation policy is in accordance with the hotel's policy which is an outright lie. The hotel's policy allows you to cancel with full refund up to 2 days before your arrival. AND, the rate that I was charged was higher than what the hotel is charging for the same room. I also suspect that the reservation was bogus because when I called the hotel they only had 1 room available according to my requirements and had not received any reservations from this outfit. I did not book deliberately through this company as I was on the hotel's website...but somehow they hijacked the reservations. BEWARE and call your hotel directly. This was to be a birthday present for my husband...not going to happen now. This is totally a SCAM outfit and like another reviewer, I'm going to do everything in my power and make this my personal mission to get the word out on this company...folks beware!

I thought I was a the hotel direct but ended up here and got scammed. Quoted me one price and charged me another (which I didn't realize until I got my email) I wasn't comfortable with the person on the phone so I said just cancel and she said I can cancel with their customer service which she transferred me to directly. That woman told me it was nonrefundable! unbelievable. This company is a scam. Beware

Getaroom learn on my mistakes and never book from them

I don't understand what was the reason I chose this website for booking. I knew there were so many alternatives, more reliable and trustful, but I decided to choose this one and regretted.
Their descriptions have nothing to do with the reality, and if you book a room you want, it won't mean you get the same. This happened to us. We booked a room according to their descriptions and photos under it, but what we got was absolutely different.
Do you actually check your hotels before posting their information?
And remember, they will never refund because they will think they are right and you are wrong. Stay away and never make my mistakes.

Getaroom billed for unused services

I was asked by their representative to send them an email since they can’t address my issue on the phone, instead I need to send an email disputing these charges. I never used their services and the booking agent assured me that I would NOT be billed anything if I canceled my reservation before July 25 and I cancelled July 11th. They charged me $1, 109.02. I don’t have the representatives names because they said they’re not allowed to give their names.

Getaroom hotel reservation

I searched online for a specific hotel and thought I was getting that hotel's website. Instead, I got getaroom.com. AFTER I booked a non refundable room I received my confirmation and discovered a $59 recovery fee, which was 46% of the hotel room I booked. I tried to call immediately and was told there was nothing she could do. I argued and argued and asked for a supervisor. She refused to let me speak to anyone else. After a lot of arguing she finally told me she would do a one time courtesy refund of the recovery fee of $59 but NOT until AFTER my stay. I do not understand why I have to wait until after my stay and wanted an explanation. She could not explain it other than to say it is their policy. I kept asking for a supervisor but she still refused to let me speak to one. I just want my $59 back and do not think I should have to wait. I understood the room is non refundable and have no problem paying for it even though it is higher than what the hotel itself is charging. But that recovery fee is absolutely ridiculous and criminal. Customer service does not exist with this company. I have never dealt with them before but will go out of my way to avoid them. I have booked online for years and never had anyone charge a fee.

Getaroom hotel reservations

Someone please help me. I have booked 2 rooms with 2 double beds at Hull Beach Resort in MA for September 25, 2017. I called the hotel and spoke to Nancy today and they have only 1 room with 2 double beds under my name with the confirmation number of #133255. I called Getaroom.com today and he could not find my reservation at all and after 15 minutes of being on hold I was disconnected.

Getaroom deceptive internet link and exorbitant fees

I am planning a trip to San Francisco and decided to stay at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins. I entered the name of the hotel in a Google Search and clicked on the top link, which said "Intercontinental Mark Hopkins - Guest Reservations. " I went to this link thinking I was going to the hotel's direct website. The reservations page I arrived at was very deceptive. It was designed to appear like it was the hotel's site but it is not. Upon checking out, I was charged $621 in "Tax Recovery and Service Fees" for a 3 day stay! Really? Fees of over $200 per day? Had I booked directly with the hotel, I would have saved $350. I will never allow myself to be tricked into using getaroom.com and paying their huge fees again.

Getaroom.com Tricks You into Using Their Hugely Expensive Services

Getaroom.com uses deceptive practices to fool users into booking through them, charges outlandish “Tax Recovery” fees and pockets the difference between their inflated fees and the actual tax billed to them by the hotel. They state that they simply charge the customer for the estimated taxes due on the hotel stay but this obscures the fact that their “estimates” are not based on a realistic assessment of the tax rates in any given locality. For example, for a room in San Francisco that I was tricked into booking through getaroom.com I was charged a “Tax Recovery and Services” fee of 38 percent of the room cost. There is no locality in the United States that charges anything close to that magnitude of taxes on hotel rooms. Specifically, the Transient Occupancy Tax in San Francisco is 14 percent. Hotels in the main tourist area of the city add an additional 1.5 percent tax for the Tourist Improvement District fee for a total tax of 15.5 percent of the room charge. Thus, getaroom.com added an outlandish fee of 22.5 percent to my room cost for their services under the guise that they were simply charging for the estimated taxes plus a small fee for their services.

Even given the huge fees charged by getaroom.com, I would feel less ripped off it had been made clear during the booking process that I was using a third party vendor instead of booking directly through the hotel. When using a reputable third party vendor such as Expedia, Travelocity, or Orbitz, the web page where the booking is made is very clearly branded with the logo of the vendor. Unlike getaroom.com these vendors are proud of the services they offer and do not feel compelled to mask their presence from the user. On the other hand, getaroom.com obscures their involvement by operating through an affiliate named guestreservations.com. If, for example, a user searches for Hotel XYZ in Google, an ad titled “Hotel XYZ – Guest Reservations” is displayed at the top of the results page. The unsuspecting user clicks on this link thinking that they are going to Hotel XYZ’s reservation site. The reservation page that loads next has a small black logo that simply says “Guest Reservations” adjacent to a large banner with the hotel’s name followed by information about the hotel, all designed to further the deception that the user is on the hotel’s booking page. At no point in the booking process is getaroom.com shown as being a party to the transaction – until the user receives a confirmation email from getaroom.com. At this point, the trap as been sprung and it’s too late to recover. This type of underhanded business practice should be illegal.
