Getaroom hotel reservation - lack of receipt

I booked 2 reservations with get a room for an eqt corporation employee, stephen hastings as follows:
6/11/2018 cci hotel res $245.32 itinerary #r1140142640 hampton inn downtown roanoke
5/26/2018 cci hotel res $381.10. itinerary # r1120862515 hampton inn downtown roanoke
I mistakenly thought I was dealing directly with the hampton inn however I booked with get a room. the problem is that our accounts payable department must have some type of receipt or they will not reimburse. I may have used mr. hasting' email instead of my own and he no longer has that email confirmation from you. we are not disputing the charges, we only need itemized confirmation of the booking. if you would please resend those email to kimberly withrow ([protected]@eqt.com. for reference mr. hastings' email is [protected]@eqt.com;

Getaroom tried to book directly with hotel and redirected to the getaroom website with misleading cancellation policy

I was researching hotel rates/availability for a baseball tournament outside Albany, NY for July 21st through July 23rd. We chose the Comfort Inn. I attempted to book a room through the hotel directly but was redirected to the getaroom.com website and failed to notice.

Firstly, I paid $168 per night for the same hotel room that other team members paid $125 when booking directly through the hotel. Secondly, when I checked in, they couldn't find confirmation that I prepaid so, the hotel charged my credit card over $300 for the 3 nights stay. Thirdly, I explained to the hotel staff that we booked for 3 nights but if the team were to lose, that we would likely check out early and wanted to make sure I could do so without penalty. I was assured that as long as I let them know by 5pm the night before that it would be no problem. This is not the first time this team has travelled and had situations similar to this and it has never been a problem.
When the team lost their first game on Saturday, I went down to the front desk to let them know that we would be checking out on Sunday morning. The front desk clerk tried to cancel the reservation but was unable to so, she asked me to come back after she had the chance to speak with the manager. We left the hotel to go to dinner before I got the chance to go back to the front desk so I just called the number on the confirmation. It was at this point that I realized that I booked through a 3rd party. I explained the situation to the CSR and after being on the call/hold for at least 20 minutes was told that I simply needed a manager's approval to get the refund processed. Upon my return to the hotel, I explained to the front desk clerk that I unknowingly booked through the 3rd party and that I am being told that I simply need a manager's approval to get the 3rd night refunded from getaroom.com. She said that there was no manager (Supra) on duty at the time but that I should check in the morning when I checked out but, she (Tia) did not think it would be a problem. When I checked out in the morning, again no manager but, assurance that it shouldn't be a problem. On the way home, I called getaroom.com customer service to start the refund process and everything changed. At this point the customer service representative continually inserted the cancellation policy and insisted that there was nothing that could be done. He was incredibly rude, turned combative with me and finally hung up. Since I was charged by the hotel directly as well as getaroom.com, I called my credit card company immediately and disputed the charge to getaroom.com. They were completely willing to work with me until I checked out and couldn't do anything about it and then they changed their story and mocked me saying I should have read the cancellation policy more clearly. Well, we travel frequently and book with reputable hotels and have never had an issue with an early check out! I am not asking for a refund for being charged more than all the other families that booked directly through the hotel. I am only asking to be refunded for the last night since we didn't stay there and I was repeatedly assured that it would be no problem for me to cancel.

Getaroom getaroom.com / guestreservations.com

I searched "hampton inn hotel gulfport guest reservations" and clicked what I thought was the hotels reservation page. Unfortunately it was this scam website guestreservations.com which is connected to getaroom.com. The email confirmation was from getaroom.com. Thats when I realised I was not at the hotel website and soon learned I overpaid by $30. I essentially paid this site $30 to book my room. If it wasnt for getaroom.com and guestreservation.com's DECEPTIVE advertising I would have landed on the hotels site and booked the hotel directly without having to give them $30.

This company is definitely a scam. Why? Because it uses bait advertising, price gouging, deceptive practices and hides behind a proxy server. The enablers of these scum are Google and the Credit Card agencies. Until the troughers in Government start getting serious about calling the enablers to account as well as the domain name hosters the scammers will continue unchecked.

www.guestreservations.com is a sham. Not until hitting the confirm button do you get to see the charges and by then it’s too late. We weren’t even ready to make the reservation until we could see the charges, and aren’t sure we’re even going on the trip to begin with. Plus they charged an extra $30 in fees and the reservation is non-refundable. Called customer service, they were hard to understand but made it clear that we were out of luck. Unacceptable.

Getaroom "guaranteed" reservation

I booked a double room for my parents to stay in the king room and my son and me to share the queen room. My reservation said, "Your reservation has been prepaid and is fully guaranteed. Rest assured, your reservation has been successfully submitted to the hotel." A few days before our stay I received a call and email that the hotel no longer had that room and they could offer me a two queen room instead. When I told the rep we had four staying she latched onto the fact that I had only indicated two people staying on the reservation and therefore they didn't need to give me two rooms. Nowhere in the reservation process was it REQUIRED to indicate how many would be in the room. I didn't even notice it or pay attention to it. I just went with the default I guess. I didn't have more than the number allowed staying in the room and it could've easily just been two of us staying. It shouldn't have mattered and it didn't matter. We went from two rooms, each with their own bathroom, one with a king and one with two queens, to two queens, a pullout and one bathroom. The rep made it sound like the hotel was to blame but when I called the hotel they indicated they had nothing to do with the booking. It took the rep 3/4 of the way through the conversation to offer a weak sorry. So much for a "guarantee" and a "rest assured." Fortunately I found a different hotel and will make certain never to use getaroom.com again.

Getaroom lack of receipt, indication of $126 fee above hotel room cost

I was traveling by vehicle and wanted to book a room once we were sure how far would make it. We tend to stay at Hilton properties. My daughter googled the number for me and I didn't notice it was not Hilton's number. They never identified clearly who they were, did not indicate how much over the hotel room rate they would charge and did not send me a receipt. $126.66 is not a reasonable fee or surcharge! I have tried calling the 1-800 number and can not get to anyone to get a receipt sent to me. The Hampton inn we stayed at has been helpful as they can, but my mistake in inadvertently booking through this service! I will be sure to use my Hilton app next time.

Definitely not a deal or better rates than available online.

Getaroom got charged for two rooms and only needed one

on july 29, 2018 me and my 3 boys were traveling to north carolina from ohio. It was 10 oclock at night and I thought i better make a reservation for a room in the town where we would like to stop. i was very tired and couldnt call the actual hotel because the speaker on my phone was broke so I went on my phone and typed in Beckley, WV holiday inn & suites; the hotel my brother in law recommended. When i went to the site i didnt realize it directed me to this getaroom. I typed in my information, including my credit card number and it told me that my card would not go through. so i entered another card and that was approved. I thought i was going to be charged 132.90 but when it went through i was charged 189.70! Ridiculous fees. when i looked at my bank account the next day i noticed i had 187.90 charged to both of my cards. I was hoping one of those charges would drop off but it never did. Ends up that i was charged for 2 rooms; one room on each card. i definitely only needed one room and the website told me that it didnt except the first card i put in! I have tried numerous times to contact customer service (hotel reservations) and i get NOWHERE. i am very upset because i got charged almost $400 on two rooms when i only needed one and thought that i only paid for one! i need help on how to resolve this issue. i definitely feel that i deserve to be reimbursed. please help!

Getaroom hotel reservation

I thought I was booking a room with Travelodge by Wyndham n Kalispell Montana but unfortunately I was directed to the getaroom number. They advertise best deals on rooms, rooms up to 50% off. Are you kidding. I was charged $308 for a 2 night stay which is nearly exactly the amount I would have been charged by the hotel directly. The real infuriating part was they also charged me $124.38 for what they call Tax Recovery and Service Fees which amounts to an additional 40% per night. The fine print partly says it is for taxes owed by the hotel and charges by the hotel to Getaroom for resort fees, cleaning fees, and other fees. According to the manager they don't charge anyone for these fees. This site should be investigated and/or shut down. My confirmation number from Getaroom was R1129327107. I checked in 8/4 and checked out 8/6. The site is getaroom.com. I would appreciate getting reimbursed for this $124.38 Tax Recovery and Service Fee.

On June 27, 2018 I booked two rooms with two double beds for July 1 - July 5, 2018 for the Delta Hotel in Toronto. I was quoted $89.00 for one and $103.00 for the other per night with Tax and hotel fees to be added. The reason for booking was that our daughter, who lives in Toronto, died suddenly and unexpectedly and we had to leave from North Carolina to make funeral arrangements. As you can understand, I was very distraught while speaking to the agent on the phone. When I received my visa bill I was charged $582.52 for one room and $603.82 for the other one. Surely, the tax and hotel fees did not amount to $169.88 and $189.26, respectively. As you can imagine how disturbed I was as I was not expecting these charges. I would appreciate it if you would adjust the charges for the amounts quoted plus the additional amount for tax and the hotel fees.

Getaroom hotel reservation

Awful experience! I went online and searched for a specific hotel and was directed to getaroom.com. I thought I was on hotel site. I searched for a room and saw a rate that I liked so I then entered credit card info and then realized that taxes and fees were very high.(about 65% of room rate) I attempted to back out of site and got an error message. To my knowledge I never hit confirm. I went to another site I trusted to look for room and checked my email and noticed that I had booked a room with get a room. I clicked on the reservation and immediately cancelled only to find out later that it was non-refundable. I called customer service within 15 minutes of original booking and cancellation and they just said sorry that it was non-refundable and they could not reinstate the the cancellation. They said they called the partner and the hotel (Sheraton) would not refund the room. I asked the CSR for her name and she said "Reg" I asked for her last name and she hung up. I called my credit card company to contest the charge. I called get a room back and got a rep name "Rego" and he said they could not give their last name. I asked for a supervisor and I got "Ron" and he restated that their was no refund and no room. I asked if anything could be done and he said he could request from partner via email a refund. I asked to be copied on the email and he said that policy would not allow it. I now have no room reserved and a pending charge for $266 on my card. I will dispute but technically cannot dispute until the charges posts. Get a room "Ron" said that I would get an email within 48 hrs as a answer to my dispute. I have my doubts. I would stay away from using this site and use a more reputable company. I am asking to either be able to use the room or get my money back.

Getaroom hotel reservations

We were having a family reunion and in April 2018 I booked four rooms at the Marriott in Walnut Creek CA with checkin on July 14. (I called what I thought was the number for Marriott reservations but I learned later that I was speaking to "reservation counter.") They made the reservation and charged me up front for the rooms. I received two confirmations for two rooms each and nowhere on the confirmation did it say I was to all only "reservation counter" to cancel. It said to follow hotel cancellation policy.

On July 9, well within the cancellation limit, I called the Marriott to cancel two of the rooms. That's when I learned there was actually a third party involved. Marriott at first told me they couldn't cancel, then put me on hold and when they returned they said they could cancel and I thought we were good. Later in the week I thought I should follow up with this "reservation desk" for the cancellation. I was told it was too late to cancel! I explained that I had cancelled with the hotel on the 9th. I was told "reservation desk" is really "reservation counter" and they have a "wholesaler" who gets the rooms and pays for them. I knew this to not be correct because Marriott informed me they had not been paid yet for the rooms and that that would happen on July 14. "Reservation counter" told me that what I could do was get the name of a person at Marriott that could be called to inform the wholesaler that the rooms had been cancelled.

I talked to Marriott to make sure they had only two rooms booked in my name and I gave them the names of the guests who would be using the rooms. I confirmed with Marriott that they were not expecting me to use four rooms and calling two rooms to be a "no show." I followed up with "Reservation counter" and gave them the name of the guest services manager at Marriott who was waiting for their call to confirm that two rooms of four had been cancelled by the hotel. "Reservation counter" told me they would give the information to their wholesaler or "escalation department" and that I would receive an email when the issue was resolved.

I did indeed receive an email from something called "Getaroom" informing me that their cancellation policy had not been followed and that they would not be refunding the money for the two rooms. So I am out $433.62! I think "reservation counter" and "Getaroom" are just complete scam artists working together and preying on the public. Please help me to get my money back. Thank you so much.

Getaroom charged credit card and no reservation

Booked online July 29th to Aug 2nd, 2018. They charged our credit card right away with a confirmation e-mail stating confirmed but we have NO reservation at the hotel. We have been in contact with the hotel for a week and they have no recollection of the reservation. Why so they have my money if I have no reservation. They say to wait 72 hours prior to leaving and check. That is REDICULOUS! I want my money back or a confirmed reservation by the hotel themselves now.

Getaroom booking of a room at travelodge vancouver airport

I phoned what I thought was Travelodge for a room for one night before flying out of Vancouver. I had not idea I was not talking to Travelodge but a booking site. Travelodge Vancouver Airport is no 5 star hotel but I needed a room. The price was $241.37. I was in Canada booking a room in Canada who would have thought they were charging me in US dollars. Never was I told it was in US dollars. On my credit card I got charged $321.06. Needless to say I was pretty angry.

Getaroom booking app glitch

I thought I was on the actual hotel site (Holiday Inn). I was booking from my phone. Every time I selected 2 rooms the date reverted to the previous day. I thought I had it correct but ended up paying for two rooms on the wrong night. I called customer service when I returned to the US and it took several calls and they were totally unhelpful and took zero ownership of the problem. I have since been advised that this booking site has a bad rep and not to use them.

Getaroom hotel reservation

When I called to book my room I didn't realize that it was a third party service and the receptionist spoke quite clearly until she quoted the final price and then it was a bit mumbled. I was in a bind and needed the room; but the whole thing felt a little dishonest. I agreed to the price thinking it was only taxes and such added to the price. Your service was fine otherwise.

Getaroom fraudulent billing

On May 15th I was on a connecting flight from JFK through Charlotte. Due to weather the flight was delayed and I missed my connecting flight in Charlotte. I arrived Charlotte just before midnight on Tuesday the 15th. I called, what I thought was the Comfort Suites Hotel for a room for a few hours as my new flight was not leaving Charlotte at 7:00am on Wednesday the 16th of May and explained my situation to the (getaroom) agent on the phone. She called and said that she found me a room at the Comfort Suites and gave me a confirmation number. When I called the Hotel for transportation they advised me that I did not have a reservation and that they were sold out due to flight cancellations. When I called your representative back your agent put me on hold to check with the hotel. After a 15 minute hold he explained to me that the reservation that your agent made for me earlier was for a room on the Wednesday the 16th of May that I could not check into until 3:00pm. Needless to say my new connecting flight back to Denver was at 7:00am, and I would not need this reservation. Your agent refused to cancel the reservation, could not get me a different room and I ended up spending the night at the Charlotte airport.

I have disputed this charge with my credit card company, as I did not receive any of the services that you are charging me for.

Your customer services is deplorable and I have also filed a complaint to the Comfort Suites Hotel chain suggesting that they disassociate themselves from your company.

If necessary I will take whatever legal maters i need to be made whole for this fraudulent billing.

Getaroom we reserved a non-smoking room but was given a smoking room.

On Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 we arrived at the Sleep Inn, Hattiesburg, MS for a four night reservation. Reservation made through Get-A-Room. When we got to the room it was dark, dank and had a strong odor of cigarette smoke. It was so bad we asked for another room. There were no other rooms at the Sleep Inn or anywhere else. Hurricane Irma was approaching the Fort Myers, FL area where we live, so we fled to Mississippi like thousands of other people.

We stayed one night only. We were told at check-out there would be a charge-back on our credit card for the 3 days we didn't use. The bill came in for the full amount $410.87. I put a stop payment order on our credit card, to dispute the charges. I spoke with the General Manager of the Sleep Inn Ms. Priyanka Patel numerous times but made no progress. I spoke with Daisy at Choice Hotels Customer Relations. Again, no meeting us half way on the charge. We will never use a Sleep Inn or a Choice Hotel again. When we tell our Hurricane Irma story we always include how Sleep Inn robbed us of $307.50.

Getaroom tax recovery and service fees

Booked room at hotel that we stay at frequently. Clicked on link connecting to GET A ROOM. Did not realize till finished booking that no refund or changes and that an $152 tax and service fee was associated with this booking. Tried calling their supposeable 1-800 number only to be disconnected from global booking. It's not just about the extra $100 in fees. It's about misreprentation of the site and the cost associated with it.. I will find every avenue to list complaints regarding this company and will avoid it for any and all future bookings. Thank you.

Getaroom unauthorized credit card charges

I have a bill show up on my AMC that was not authorized for 3/5/18...I can't even reach someone to discuss, and I am unable to call the hotel directly as I don't the hotel this receipt is referring too.. It could be a group of hotels in Concord NC...I want to talk to some one personally or I will call AMC and stop payment now.
I have spent the last hour on 2 different numbers and unable to reach the numbers are. [protected] and [protected]

Getaroom didn't set aside the required number of days of stay

I was supposed to stay in Titusville, FL from 3/6 - 3/13, but getaroom only booked to 3/12. I thought I was dealing directly with the motel chain, but was re-directed to getaroom. Getaroom also charged $27 MORE per day than the motel's rate which I found out from the motel clerk when I was required to pay for the last day. Instead of paying $80 I was charged $107 by getaroom.
