Georgia Power electrical service

The customer service sucks so now I'm without power even though my bill has been paid and a ga power field agent is in the same complex working I don't understand why the office couldn't tell him to work my order since he was already here. My payment was quickly accepted but it seems like me having power at home wasn't any concern to them. It's sad how people company's are quick to take things away from you and very slow at giving them back. I have a breathing machine I need to be during the night and I have fish tanks that rely on power but it seems ga power representatives only care about getting payments and even after getting the payments they didn't seem to care about how much I needed my power...unhappy customer!

Georgia Power $50 reconnecting fee

I was charged a reconnect fee today while I was paying my bill. I contacted the chat department and was treated very rudely by one of your employees. (Please see below).

If I am in the middle of a transaction of paying a bill why was I assessed this fee and how can it be reversed?

Customer service provided by ChaKoa id# 33804
This employee is very rude to Georgia Power customers. If Georgia Power values its customers this individual needs to be taught how to give proper customer service. She is extremely rude and condescending.

Georgia Power hours reconnecting power

Had appt. for line drop at 9am on 2/23/18. That went well, service man showed up early. Called the dropline service number back right at 5pm to reconnect my line. No one showed. Called back about 8:15pm and the Rep could not tell me nothing. Now my fridge is warm, food just purchased is thawing out. Took some refridge food to my son's house. Called back about 12am to file a complaint, just as the Power guy was showing up, and as the lights came on my phone disconnected from the Rep. It took him 5 mins. to reconnect my line, but 7 hours to get here. That is beyond unacceptable. And the Rep did mention you all have 24 hrs. to reconnect. Well my food didn't last 24 hours and I had to burn my gas to transport some of my food es-where. I am not eating food that has thawed and refrozen. I would like to be reimbursed for half of my grocery bill of $191.89 (folded receipt to show total). This is my first ever Service complaint. I also sat in my house with no power, no security service, so therefore a safety issue.

Georgia Power customer service

My wife's sister is 93 years old and has significant hearing loss. She has also become somewhat feeble of mind. She lost her current power bill and tried to call Ga Power. She could not understand what they were saying so she asked me to call them. I called and talked to Camille, she refused to give me her customer ID number, and explained the problem. I did not expect her to give me any information on the account. All I asked for was for them to sent her a new bill. Camille refused to send her a new bill. I asked to talk to a supervisor and she said they were all busy. I said I would wait. She said I could not wait. After a long and very troubling conversation, Camille said that a supervisor had agreed to send a duplicate copy of the bill to my wife's sister. That was all I had asked for. All of this was completely unnecessary and does not speak well of Ga Power cuctomer service.

Georgia Power start service

Power is off in my new home. Had to submit lease and identification over email and wait 24 business hours (minimum). No office to turn information into just have to wait with no power, it's ridiculous you should not shut off power without notice if you are not able to turn it back on immediately it is winter and I have children. I also work from home, to not have any alternative but wait over 24 hours is ridiculous.

Georgia Power not able to pay bill

I recently was trying to pay a bill online and I also tried to call the customer service line and unfortunately I was not able to pay my bill because it was a problem with the bill matrix system and it also was a problem online as well this was extremely irritating to me because I was not able to pay a bill that was due and I personally feel if I can't pay Georgia Power the money and it's a issue they will be ready to turn off my power but that's your responsibility to have your system updated and able to at least contact the bill matrix or another line that you can pay your bill and neither of those was working so I would advise Georgia power to try to update their systems through online as well as over the phone because that is very frustrating when you have to wait or figure out how you going to pay your bill when you're trying to pay it and you have no way of doing that that's very unprofessional and I feel like Georgia Power needs to enforce that and update their system or at least their customer service to were if their system is down or if the bill matrix system is down then they can have somebody to take the payment because then individuals are left without paying the bill and then it's going to be their fault they didn't pay their bill but in actuality is Georgia Power Bill Matrix issue

Georgia Power horrible customer service from a supervisor

I called in yesterday to get an arrangement due to me being out of work due to an accident causing me to be out of work a few weeks . A supervisor called back but I was at work could not answer. I called back to speak with a supervisor the lady they put on the phone name was Laina the call was today 2/6/2018 around 3:36pm. When she got on the phone she had an attitude I advised her that I was returning a call back from a supervisor earlier she then proceeded to tell me someone called me back but my vm was full which wasn't true. I advised her that was not the case she then cut me off declining my arrangement without any sympathy and proceeded to be very rude I advised her that she was rude and I wanted to speak to someone else she refused I then asked her about a program that the previous rep told me about regarding a medical hold she got real nasty and stated that's not what I was calling for I explained to her if she looks at the notes> I have been with Georgia Power over 10 years and I have never been spoken to or handled in this way I will be reaching out higher up to get this matter handled if you cant do anything I did record the call and I advised her the same.

Georgia Power service truck driving behavior

I and my friends were riding our bicycles last Sunday when a Georgia Power Service truck passed us in an unsafe manor. We were on a 2 lane road and the there was traffic on coming traffic approaching and the Georgia Power Service truck drive continued to pass. This caused the on coming traffic off the road and was too close to us. Pleas inform your drivers that most bicycle rides have cameras on their bikes. I have attached a picture which clearly shows the situation.

Georgia Power service fees

To whom it may concern
From Georgia custumers

Georgia power the business should be renamed to rob you blind. We are not happy with the extra fees. I want to know why does the customers have to pay environmental compliance cost when that's something the state ordered the business to do and their for payday. 2nd we didnt vote or have a say on building another nuclear plant so their for we shouldn't be the ones paying the fee.. And if so we expect to have shares for paying in the company. 3rd municipal franchise fee that should definitely not be there last time I check I don't own a franchise so why does my bill say I have a fee. Your franchise fee is being charged in the usage in and meter readings there should be no more fees. We already have sales taxes that's all the rest has to go.
PS stop charging people to pay their bill. That's just sucking them dry isn't it enough I hope that law sue put against these fees goes through and I will be expecting my refund in a check please. We do complain but the business don't listen.

Georgia Power deposit

This place is a huge rip off. I called and spoke to rep to have services disconnected because I was moving. I was told by that rep that I would have my deposit credited back to my account once it was closed out. Account closed out and never received the credit to my account. Spoke to supervisor Ms.Robinson who was very rude and non understanding basically stating that since I started new service at another address that deposit will be for that property. The supervisor was the worst, reps give mis leading information. avoid them if you can/ sad that they are really the only power company in most areas.

Georgia Power processing a claim

My name is Margaret Jones Thomas. The power went out at my parents home on Christmas Eve. A tech came out and replace a line. He said that it was a bad neutral line and that we might have some damage inside the house due to it. Everything was fine except the oven. I put in a claim on 12/27/17 to have the oven replaced. I was told at that time that an adjuster would be in contact with me within 2 days but maybe longer due to the holidays. Needless to say that I never received a call and have since called back 3 times to get answers to no avail. My 84 year old mother has been without an oven every since! She has been a customer for decades! I am so very disappointed with GA Power! What's more absurd is that there is no way to speak with anyone in the claims department directly! Can someone please help! I can be reached at [protected].

Georgia Power regular power outages

My subdivision experiences regular and varied power outages on what seems to be a regular basis. This requires weekly resetting of all digital clocks in the house and in the past 2 to 3 months we've experienced 3 outages exceeding 12hrs, two of we're well beyond 20 hours in duration. Given that the surrounding neighborhoods seems to receive uninterrupted power supply I would expect a rebate from Georgia Power for the constant inconvenience?

Georgia Power electric

Georgia power consistently and frequently goes out in the Martins landing area. I recently moved here to help my 95 year old Mom out. In the short time I have been here we've had at least 3 or 4 outages. One went a whole day. My elderly Mom can not afford to be without heat. When you call to get updates there are none. It is very frustrating and I have never seen anything like it. It is to the point where I've considered selling the house and moving elsewhere because they certainly are not providing a service to the community. It is even more upsetting to get your bill raised and for what? I certainly don't see any improvements in their system.

Georgia Power inefficient support on correcting power issues in neighborhood

This is the second time in 2 weeks that we have lost power. GA power kept our neighborhood area without power for over 48 hours when we had 9 inches of snow a few weeks ago. Now our power is down again, so whatever kind of fix they did was just a bandaid and we are out for a schedule 2.5 hours. The GA government needs to step in and help correct the leadership issues at this monopolized power company. We shouldn't keep having things blow power out when we have a light rail.

Georgia Power deposit

I was charged a deposit to start service. 7 days after my service started I hade to transfer to another unit. I was told a transfer fee of $30 would be billed to me but my deposit will transfer. Now I am in my new unit and a bill before even a month showing I owe the deposit. I called, emailed asked for a supervisor, everyone there states my bill at the other place took the deposit. I don't see how this is logical in any way! They are saying I $145 now and at the old place I owed $82 (7days) and the rest of the money covered the transfer fee. This company is a scam. They should of just said the deposit it non- refundable and or non transferable.

Georgia Power response to down power lines

I had a line down in front of my house on Friday when it snowed. I guess it was a tree branch that did it, because they cut the tree down. It's monday and the tree is still in pieces blocking half of the road. During the process of cutting the tree down my telephone line was severed and still is. I have no way of getting internet, hopefully AT&T's can fix ga power's mistake, but I'm not sure who's responsible for the phone line or to get the tree out of the road. The severed line runs underneath the tree and on the other side of the street it's just dangling. This appears very unprofessional.

Georgia Power power

5 inches of snow and 3 days no power? Seriously?!?!? Wtf is the problem. I wish we had EMC where we live! They are much faster and smarter! The status keeps saying" we are accessing the situation" really? For 3 days? That's not good on ga powers part. They have some real smart cookies accessing situations I tell ya. I hope ga powers contract is terminated once this is said and done!

Georgia Power power outage

This company sucks..your state contract should be revoked as a power provider..you guys had years to update your systems.. It shouldn't take 2 days now going on 3 days to fix a power outage due to 6 inches of snow...your company should contact con Edison in new York and learn from them on how to prepare...you guys slogan is "A SOUTHERN COMPANY" your southern hospitality is pitiful...we pay you so much money a month in taxes and fees and you do nothing. I'm willing to bet if we drove around this town we would not see any of your Georgia Power crew anywhere..and mind you we live exactly 2000 feet from your power grid...if any of my children or pets get sick I am sewing your Southern Company...

Georgia Power turned power off in neighborhood w/o advance warning

This morning (12/04/17), our entire condo was inconvenienced by a lack of power. Many of us work from home and were w/o internet and had to scramble to find other locations from which to work.

The reason for this power outage was scheduled tree work, and according to the tree team, a manager at GA power should have notified EVERYONE who would be inconvenienced PRIOR to this morning.

Georgia Power unrecognized fee

After setting up a payment arrangement ( A reminder) I was hit with a $30 return item fee. Beware, if you set up a payment reminder, it will post as a payment on the day of the reminder. IT IS NOT JUST A REMINDER!
I contacted customer service only to be told that it was my fault and that I have to pay the fee. I suggest that everyone not use auto pay and or set up payment arrangements if you have a bank account attached to your account. BEWARE BEWARE! They use any old accounts on file, from what I was told they don't care if you haven't used it in 5 plus years.
