My stepchildren have not received the last 2 weeks of child support from Georgia CSS; it is withheld from my husbands pay and has been since 2/11/03 and his employer sent us documents showing where the payments have gone the last 6 years and copies of the last 2 week pay stubs to show it was taken out. We have been trying for the last week to get answers from GCSS to no avail other than their system is down, other than the site where you can check your account online. But that doesn't make sense to us because you can see where they took the monthly maintenance fees out, and where his ex received payments from another ex on his payments in the last 2 weeks. The children 12, 17 split their time with us and their grandparents and the mother has to give the weekly checks to the grandparents. We have tried to have it delivered to the grandparents directly but the red tape to do that is incredible. The ex as of today has closed the account online but GCSS said it will take 60 days and we will continue to have to pay the monthly handling fees. We just want to make sure the payments get to the grandparents. (we share custody with them because the mother abandoned them and we were going to get full custody but the children wanted to stay there because they would have to change schools and the oldest only has one year left.)
GCSS will not talk to me (I am the stepmother) unless we (my husband and I)go to the main office and fill out a form with identification. That didn't make sense either; if we have to go to the office then we can talk to them together and directly...a form should not be necessary. The ex wife has even given them permission to talk to me and that doesn't work. I did send another e-mail this was my 3rd; letting them know if the childrens mother or father has not received an explanation as to where the funds are within 24 hours then we will file a formal complaint against GCSS.

Has anyone had experience doing this?

Georgia CSE is a JOKE! I LIVE IN NORTH CAROLINA AND THE NON CUSTODIAL PARENT LIVES IN GEORGIA, CHEROKEE COUNTY. I REQUESTED AN INCREASE IN CHILD SUPPORT AFTER PAYING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN ATTORNEYS FEES FOR FULL DISCLOSURE FROM THE NON CUSTODIAL PARENT AND MY CSE WORKER IN NC PROVIDED ALL THE DOCUMENTATION TO THE STATE. I HAVE FILED TWO FEDERAL COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE STATE OF GEORGIA BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO RESPOND TO MY CASE WORKER REGARDING THE STATUS OF MY CASE. AND THE FEW TIMES THEY HAVE THEY HAVE NOT ANSWERED ANY OF HER QUESTIONS. ALL THEY HAVE DONE IS MAKE EXCUSES AS TO WHY THEY ARE STILL PROCESSING MY REQUEST. I WILL BE WRITING THE GOVERNOR OF GEORGIA THIS WEEK AS WELL AS THE GOVERNOR IN NORTH CAROLINA. I WILL ALSO BE STARTING A PETITION REGARDING THE STATES LACK OF PERFOSSIONALISM AND RESPONSIBILITY TO THE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES THEY SERVE. I WILL BE CALLING ON THEM AS A GOVERNMENT AGENCY TO DO THEIR JOBS AND STOP WASTING TAX PAYERS MONEY! THESE CHILDREN ARE SUFFERING AND THE CUSTODIAL PARENTS WHOM DEPEND ON THOSE MONTHLY SUPPORT PAYMENTS DESERVE A VOICE. I WILL POST THE PETITION FOR ANY AND ALL TO SIGN SHORTLY TO THIS PAGE PLEASE SIGN IT I NEED 20000 SIGNATURES TO TAKE TO WASHINGTON.

Georgia has the worst system for child support recovery if you are not a WELFARE recipient. My daughters dad has never been compliant in his payments. He was never arrested nor license revoked or any consequence this whole time. But the dad seem to remember when to contact them when she is 18 and we had long moved so they stopped child support and allowed him to pay my 15000 arrearage back at a rate of 75.00 a month...I bet if I was a welfare recipient he would be doing FED time and etc.

Muscogee County CSS is sorry as hell. What is the point of CSS if the CP is doing all of the footwork, and even when you do all of the footwork, they drag their feet. My child's father missed court last December, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The sheriffs kept trying to serve him for over year, but he would never answer his door. O had to bring a picture of him to the CSS office, then they were finally able to serve him. His court date was that following month, but he did not show up. Turns out, thst at the time, he owes 21k. They found him and arrested him. He paid a lump sum of money, and he was released. Now here we are, JUNE, and he's only paid $100. Mind you, he's 4k behind, and that's just for me. He is probably behind now by 27k. CSS will do nothing. They have all of his info, but can't locate him. When he was arrested, I don't see how his employment info wasn't submitted. They are just sorry as hell.

Hi, reading some of these complaints is comforting knowing the issues with this department is state wide. I am a NCP, and yes I have witnessed the rudeness, lack there of concern, and lack of initiative to do their job. I had arrears some 6 years ago and paid it off to the point that I overpaid by $5k. No problem, so the way the system is set up for NCP overages is to divide the current support payment amount into the overages and then counting backwards from the child's 18th birthday return the payment to the NCP. In my case for ex. $5000 overpaid, divided by monthly payment of $500 equals 10 months. The child's turn 18 Oct of 2015 means they send my money back to me starting Jan 2015, CP last payment would be Dec 2014. That's the system until you add agents who arent held accountable, have access and the ability to add/remove any info from a case file, have personal connections with the CP, and just lack overall integrity. Got a letter saying I had to pay $1.12 before to close the case due to turning 18. Needless to say, they have managed to screw up everything. I have a strong feeling that it was done deliberately in order to funnel more money to the CP, but their lack of taking responsibility and admitting their errors is mind baffling and only adds to the frustration. I'm going to file a complaint with whomever I can get the attention of. If anyone knows of a federal office that will take this nonsense seriously, please share the info.

I have been dealing with OCSS for over 14 years.I am registered on Portal and I e-mail them constantly and they say they find my email's Abusive and offensive mind you I have never cursed them and I basically tell them is do there job! They told me if I keep emailing them they would close my case and also block me for checking portal is that even legal?!No one seems to even care about my case period he owes me $19.085 and they have suspended his licence and they sent him a letter in September to his last known address to no avail he didn't get it or show up for court.Back in 2012 they issued a warrant for his arrest like they have done several times even told me he got arrested found out that was a lie.I got Some CS back in October of 2012 after warrant was taken out I called about it and told them to check return address and it was coming out of his paycheck and still they did nothing to find him what so ever and what is really sad he's in the same county as they are still nothing .Please give me insight on what to do should I file complain and with whom?

I am going through the same now in Savannah and it's mind numbing. Just like someone said above me that if we custodial parents just said f@ck it and didn't feed the kids or buy then good we'd go right to jail. But of course I would never do the things to my son his dad does by abandoning him and not sending a dime or calling to ask how he is. Our son is 11 months old and has basic needs but instead his dad just says he can't pay because he ha to pay his daughters cs (ordered already) so that's his reason he doesn't help his new baby so his daughter gets more than she needs from her stepdad, her mom plus my ex sends his money and buys her stuff she wants and she is disgustingly spoiled and rude., but he can't send a penny for our sons basic needs like food and shelter. He parades around savannah looking like he's stable cause he spends his money on himself and just neglects his son so he can afford new sunglasses, fishing gear, golf equipment, brooks brothers wardrobes and to pay for his new golf league with savannah adult recreation where my friends husband plays he saw him. He said it was $200 to join so he has money for all that but the court doesn't seem to want to really dig into his shady spending that doesn't match his income on taxes. If I could get an atty it's fairly simple for them to use the lifestyle and expenditures method to show he's hiding income and neglecting his son willfully. I hope UGA enjoys the $1000 a year Jeff Freeman gives them cause he must not have learned how to be a decent person there but soon his wages will be garnished so his status and ego at UGA as an alumni will be put on hold. I did I forget to mention he is filing bankruptcy and lying to them saying he's been paying for our baby which is so low to lie about that ever. Plus his ex wife's name is still on his house after seven years even with the divorce. Decree wtf

I first started child support in Georgia at Borrow county in 2007 to where they closed case telling me that where I was married to father of children because I was legally married. In 2009 I pursued again and again they closed case. in feb 2011 I filed again in Hall County at this time I receive state aid for my 4 children and had to pay the 25.00 fee. I provided copy of the fathers paystub with military, pictures, address in other state he lives, drivers license, birth certificate, ss card, vin number on vehicles, proof of address. and so far I have had to do interstate packet 6 times. It seems that no matter how much work you put in to make the child support office job easier they do nothing. It is a long drawn out process. I can't afford a divorce because all money I have goes on bills. I feel I shouldn't have to go through this and seeing all the other comments is making me see Im not the only person. As it looks like its the child support system here in Ga.

GA Office of Child Support Enforcement is useless. 90% of the employees would be fired for incompetence if they were working in the private sector. Christopher Ryan Spears is $83, 000.00 in arrears and counting. The website ("Portal") they tell you to use is a waste of time. If you happen to be able to send an email through it without getting an error message, it will be ignored. The only purpose it serves is to let you see how much they are not collecting. And to add insult to injury, we are forced to pay their salaries!

I'm just exhausted of dealing with all of this. I mean, what is the point of a contempt hearing for non-payment if they aren't going to make these guys/girls pay? Then, to continue to do this purge agreements..who thought of that? How many purges need to be done before they are current? Apparently, two a year because it takes 26 months just to get in the system for court anyway in DeKalb County. Extremely frustrating when a NCP is allowed to get to $9300 in the arrears and gets a slap on the wrist instead of a set of cuffs. I know jail is not always the answer but when you clearly have no regard for taking care of your children and abiding by a law ordered court order, then that's where you need to be.

Does anyone has a complaint against East Point child support office? If you do, you are not alone. They treated me so unfair. I missed my telephone hearing today because of them not doing their work or not following the directions that the other state have given them. I did everything they asked me to do. I got there at 12:45. The telephone hearing was suppose to be at 2:00, the GA worker gave VA state the wrong phone number and I missed the court and the ex got away with everything he wanted to. They apologized to me and they said they would help me appeal. My current husband got upset and told the security he was going to raise his voice at the supervisor they said that was a terrorist threat and they scored him out. I waited there until 5:00 to talk to a supervisor. They do whatever they want. I was there for 5 hours without eating. I was the last one to beeing seen by supervisor.

Henry county child support is exactly the same. They are rude as hell, so is the damn call center. I have been trying to get child support since 2003! I gave them all the info his social work family pictures and they close my case constantly! They even had me call the case worker in the other state and let me tell you she was NOT happy, but she helped me more than any of the lazy ### they have working to help us and people like us looking for work and child support and they pay lthese lazy ###! ### I am so sick of their so called system! they can't even tell me why I can't get support for the child i gave paternity acknowledgement that they made me get and pay $ 20 and express shipping, signed birth certificate... I have tried getting supervisors on the phone in the office nope never there and there isnt one at the call center...

I, too, am having nothing but issues. They have allowed the NCP to become $26, 852.00 behind in child support of our two boys. He refuses to work, they say they can't make him work. I get that, but at least inconvienience his life a little! There were 3 court dates scheduled for the past month, the first one was scheduled in "error" and moved to the 19th, I finally get word this morning that they had the wrong judge lined up for the NCP so had to reschedule it till 8/2. He hasn't paid a dime in almost a year. I explained to the OCSE that if I were the one not taking care of the kids, or not taking them to school/doctor, buying their food, I'd be in jail for neglect. Why isn't he?!?!?!? No one will help you. This place is a scam! I've tried to file a formal complaint and was told they wouldn't accept it because someone is "actively working on my case". I'm seriously considering suing the whole dang department but that would take money I obviously don't have! If anyone has found any thing to help them, please pass it along to me! Thanks!

I have had a GA child support case since 2006, this case has been opened and closed at least twice, because of my deployment status. I was told that I could not have a case open if the child was not withe me, regardless if I was in the military deployed. Okay, fine I did the right thing and closed the case per my case managers request. Prior to closing the case, 3 payments was received, from the noncustodial parent, his license was not suspended, warrants were not issued for his arrest, taxes were not intercepted. Then he moved, he came into the office plenty of times to talk to representatives from what I am told about getting a modification, however, I never received modification paperwork, and he was never enforced to pay a dime. Because, the case was closed due to deployments I was not allowed to try and collect old arrears which was over $12, 000. Single parent withe two kids, and can't get any help enforcing child support order. Let's fast forward to present. November 18, 2011 I personally went into the Child Support Office in Savannah, GA and talked to a case manager, and her superior was there as well. I told them that we would be moving, because my husband has orders to AZ, he was also present talking to another representative about his case. I specifically asked the case manager if I need to transfer my case to AZ, because I was moving and the noncustodial parent lives in NC so I'm told. They both said no to leave it open with the state of GA, just update my information as soon as I get to AZ and have an address. I did, this on Jan 12, 2012. I also asked them what was going on with my case since there was no updates or information on the case portal. They had to scan through my thick file, and finally said that the NCP state requested the past due arrears that they had just sent them to thee state the week prior. They told me to keep checking thee portal I should see a payment by thee 15th of Jan, if not give them a call back. I have been checking the portal no payment and no updates to thee case. So, I decided that I would call the office on January 26, 2012 9:30a.m my time, 11:30am in GA. I talked to the customer service rep, she pulled up my case and informed me that a closure letter was sent to my last address on 24 January because nether me or the noncustodial parent lives in GA. I clearly explained to her what the case manager explained to me on November 18, I asked her what does that mean. She said that she would have someone contact me and she would put the notes into the computer. She did the best she could, however, I am very disappointed with the type of services offered I don't feel like thee case managers, tried to collect these funds, no warrants were sent out, no drivers license was revoked, he isn't on the most wanted listed, taxes haven't been intercepted, they just notified thee noncustodial state. He owes more than $12, 000 in back child support and that is only this last time. I checked the portal today Jan 31, 2012, the customer service notes are on my page, however, I still have not received a phone call, email, or update about what is going on with my child support case. I'm so sick of this can someone please give me so guidance on what to do next. Thanks.

Omg I feel the pain. I just drove 7 hours to Atalanta on thursday soni could take care of my application in person. Mind you I waited over two hours. Then when I go to the back the workers are talking amongst themselves about my child's father( a well known comedian). Then I hear this one lady loud as ever saying why does she keeps wasting her time and gas coming here. She needs to open it in her state etc. I want disclose the rest just in case their are some lurkers but I I was in tears once I left. But I called the director who pretty much gotten everything taking care of the next day. But I am still going to complain to whomever however cause that was just so unprofessional. But have zoo much on ga child support it's ridiculous. They sent an email about a yr ago saying my case was being closed. But no one could tell me how and why. I have a lawyer but them fees are kicking my butt. So I decided to take matters into my own hands for the time being

To whom it may concern:
I don’t even think that there are words to describe the frustration that I feel towards the Liberty County child support office. In fact I think that the whole operation is a huge waste of tax payer’s money. I have been in a process for an entire year without any justice. I have paycheck stubs where the NCP has worked for months on end, during that time I called and was insured that socials where being checked each month. Then when called back and gave the name of the employer by the 30 to 60 day period he had quit the job. In fact, why am I the one that is doing most of the work on this case? Providing addresses and employers? I called Friday to speak to a supervisor with no call back; I have called and left messages with Hinesville office with no call backs. When he was on unemployment it took me 6 MONTHS to start getting my daughter child support from that. Again even that I had to call and speak to the supervisor.
I think I am more upset that this office is allowing him to make a fool out of the system that I thought was put in place to prevent dead beat parents from getting out of paying support---well one year later and 16k in the arrears Rodney Levy Milledge is walking around laughing in his Polo shirts at the tax payers so called child support enforcement. I say this to you as I say it to Rod when he tells me, “I will burn in hell before I ever get a DIME”……the only person who is hurting is my 4 year old daughter and his 6 year old son. Not only do they suffer from the loss time of over worked mothers, but also how much more would we be able to provide with just a little bit of support.
By the way…no payment in a YEAR and yet Rodney can put out the money for an attorney? It would seem to me that he has continued to work for the entire year, while Hinesville caseworkers have done nothing but sat around collecting the pay check.

I am currently dealing with CSS in Barrow County and believe me, when you walk through that door...it's a slaughter house ! You don't have a snowballs chance in hell if you on the wrong side of the glass window. They are NO help whatsoever and seems they go out of the way just to inconvience you. Good luck to all who are in my same situtation.

I also have been using their services for awhile. When it's good - it's good. When it's wrong - it is definitely wrong and you are stuck for months or years going back and forth (if they even call you back). They made a huge "error" in my case back in 2006 and I'm still trying to get it resolved. I am having my own lawyer look into it now because their lawyers say one thing one year and then another the next. For the last month or more I can not even get in contact with my local Gainesville, Ga office at their listed number [protected]. The recording prompt answers and gives options. Once "speak with an agent" option is chosen, the next option states different options to choose (1-5) however when you select an option it just keeps going on like you never selected anything and will not recognize that you selected anything. I have also had several experiences with them holding my payments, sometimes days, sometimes weeks and on one instance 3 months. I will wait patiently for my lawyer to complete their investigation to see what my next steps may be...

I have 3 kids by the same guy. We broke up when i was pregnant with my baby. During hte pregnancy i began receiving child support for my oldest two. I been trying to add my baby for 5 years (he will be 6 in december). For almost 5 years, was trying to find a physical address on the noncustodial parent. After my own investigation i foun d hid physical address. i had him served by the sheriff for another legal matter@ this address, and he signed for the letter, a copy was sent back to me. I sent a copy of this letter proving that he ws @ this address and GUESS WHAT, my case was transferred to that county and then everything else STOPPED. Here it is NOVEMBER and i submitted the inormation @ the beginning of JULY. CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT STILL HAVE NOT DONE S*%T because they dony give a D*%N. Before i close i would like to add that my child has CHRONIC ASTHMA and i have to buy his two pumps, albuterol, steroids, and nasal spray.

I have this company is a fraud. if they are going by Child Support services of Georgia or of Atlanta I have been stuck with these people since 2007 and they have been no help. I dont have the money for an attorney having to file a complaint with Ga cosumer affairs they posted many alerts on this company. You can google Child support services of Ga and find many of them. Go for higher authority you will never get anywhere. God they have so much of money my sons father has paid that i havent seen.
