I purchased a men's white gold topaz ring from Gemologica. They said that the ring lists for $525 and sold it to me for $310. The ring is hollow inside, very thin and very very cheaply made. The stone even wiggles! When I sent them an email asking them to let me know where this ring lists for $525 they replied that I can return the ring. To return the ring I need to pay them a 10% restocking fee plus what it cost them to ship it to me, plus I need to pay for shipping back to them. Please do not buy from Gemologica!

After a month in, my 200$+ ring split half and a stone is missing. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

CAUTION! Gemologica CHILDREN'S EARRINGS ARE DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE!
My daughter had to go to the ER because the backings to her Gemologica earrings are thin, blade-like discs that spiral cut themselves into the back of her earlobe. There is nothing beyond the threads on the post to stop the earring from compressing the earlobe, then rotating the sharp disc edge right under the skin. My daughters 10th birthday was RUINED by these ### earrings burrowing into her earlobe and causing her a hideous amount of pain.
And yes, the products ARE cheap and shoddy for what you pay. I wanted to return them, but my daughter thought they were pretty, so I gave in. Gemologica SUCKS! Stay away.

Just got my Men's ring which I paid $400 for. Looks like it cost $20. The refund fee in 25%, that should have tipped me off. I bet they make all their money on returns. It's fraud is what it is!

i purchase a mans large sapphire ring, the most expensive one the company offers.. i paid over 500 for the ring and it didnt even appraise for half of that. The white gold used for the ring is so thin and hollow a friend of mine thought it was a fake. It took over two weeks for the ring to a arrive and there is no way to track your purchase and the customer service replies are always the same B.S. " your order is on the way". I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GEMOLOGICA.COM FOR ORDERS.

Recently my girlfriend purchased a ring from gemologica as an anniversary gift. She spent well over three hundred dollars for it. I own rings appraised at much greater value even at resale price. The quality of the ring from gemologica doesn't reflect the price paid for it nor does it reflect the the quality portrayed by gemologica on their website. The ring is rather flimsy and unrefined in appearance. It seems that I did not receive a piece containing the white gold metaloid content that was promised. it appears to be white gold plated at a solid white gold price Aside from some small scratches and and imperfections, I realized that one of the three diamonds was missing within 24 hours of wearing it clearly indicating the poor quality of the piece I received as well as the extreme neglect on the part of gemologica. I'm grossly unsatisfied with gemologica product and sincerely hope that anyone considering a purchase from gemologica reads my review. It would be truly sad if this company is allowed to ruin any more special occasions for anyone such as my one year anniversary that just past that is one memory I will never get back with the woman that I love with every ounce of my being.. Referring to gemologica as a deceitfully glorified, and overpriced gumball machine is even too much of a gracious complement to make about gemologica.
In my opinion, Gemologica should should close down entirely if this is the standard of quality that clearly they are providing. Not to mention the nightmare that they refer to as customer service. At best I rate the quality of the piece a 1 out of 5, with 5 being the best.. Also on that scale I rate their customer service at a 0 out of 5. Overall in the industry of gem jewelry there isn't a number low enough that would legitimately express the true nature of the poor quality and service that they provide. So instead I think most appropriate description of gemologica is that their company is nothing short of an epic fail of catastrophic proportions in the gem jewelry industry. Please to my fellow consumers out there, whatever you do, Do Not.. And I repeat Do! Not! Ever put a special occasion in the greed stained hands of gemologica. We buy what are supposed to be wonderful tokens of our love and appreciation for our loved ones with the most genuine and special thoughts in mind and should receive quality that the very least matches if not exceeds the sentiment behind those tokens.
If you want quality gem pieces go to www.gemvara.com where pound for pound the value that is advertised and promised is received consistently with every purchase along with customer service that is unparalleled. Not to mention a REAL SATISFACTION GUARANTEE and a return policy to go with it that gemvara will always stand by.

This is continuation of the last review. The story with amethyst ring was not over. They have sent «new» ring. But it appeared that they only replaced the stone, and the frame with deep scratches was the SAME. It is worse mentioning that the ring’s backward shipment casted me around 15 dollars. And during all the expectation process I need to send them requests about the process, namely to remind them to take my ring from post office (it had arrived 10 days ago), then to remind them that they have a customer that was waiting for the ring. Horrible experience, don't ever, ever use gemologica service.

Ordered from Gemologica white gold ring with amethyst, after several reminding about the shipment, got it with speedy mail, but the ring was scratched and the stone as well, let alone the quality - below any criticism. I have a strong feeling that all that prolongation with shipment was connected with awaiting before some other customer return the ring and then they could safe money by sending it somebody else. Several day ago started replacement process with the same order, back shipment is covered by Gemologica only partially, due to really big number of complaints in Internet, after arrival of the ring gonna go specialist and check authenticity of the stone. God fobid it is fake. I will publish this news supported with documentary evidence all over the net.

So true, Gemologica is a sad experience - after one year the so-called "solid gold" received for $100 was stained and looked like a cheap plated oxidized metal. Most probably the stones are not genuine too - no proof of authenticity received with the purchase.
Getting in touch with the customer support was another experience, they recommended going to a local jeweler to clean the tin.
What must have been a beautiful set of garnet earrings ended up as a great headache. A waste of time and money.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I ordered a men's white gold ring with a blue topaz gem and got this rinky dink hollowed-out ring that could have popped out of a grocery store 50 cent machine. im outraged that gemologica can continue this kind of thing. is this not illegal?

Hello to you i'm James The Jeweler in Atlanta, Ga and i also have my own jewelry group here under "JEWELRY & WATCHES" i was reading your complaint, and i must say to you unless the ring you purchsed is atleast a half ounce or close to an ounce of 14kt gold, there's no way the ring you purchased retails for $525. White Topaz is a "SEMI-PRECIOUS" gemstone so i'd love to know if this ring is a SOLITAIRE or a series of SMALLER GEMSTONES. It really doesn't matter White Topaz is an INEXPENSIVE GEMSTONE and a soft one as well.

If you ever need my FREE jewelry consulting services, or you have any jewelry questions feel free to as me.
