GEICO denied claim / unethical business practices

I bought my 2014 Nissan Altima in April 2017; it is a rebuilt title. I have never had an issue with the car (never been towed, etc.)

My son was hit by a landscaping truck on 2/6/18. Aside from extensive body damage to the right passenger rear and driver front/side the car would not start and had to be towed to the body shop.

The driver did not have a license and I went to a hearing on 4/17/18 but was told since the car was still having issues, etc. that I needed to come back for any restitution.

The damage was fixed and a new battery was installed thinking that was the issue with it starting.

Several days later, the car would not start. It has been in and out of the mechanics since. As a realtor, I had to rent cars or take a Lyft to get around. Geico felt at this point the issues were not from the accident so they refused to pay the rental or the current repairs; The last thing in April I was told the car needed a new gear box and I had to pay for it. Instead, I took it to where I bought it and several attempts were made to fix the car to no avail.

It was suggested I take it to Nissan. I did on June 7 and the service adviser assured me the damage was due to the accident on 2/6/18.

The adjuster has told me that this is a problem with Nissan cars in general. that the car was previously a rental car, was in a flood, a fire and an accident and it was just coincidence that I have issues now and it's not from the 2/6/18 accident. You can see from the pics my car sustained damage and in the area where the final repairs were made (driver front side wire harness was shot)

The bill is $797 and since I have been left stranded so many times and unable to conduct a normal business, I have lost clients and facing financial dire straits. I also paid $986 for a rental car on my own and hundreds in Lyft.

I cannot get the car out of Nissan unless Geico pays for it. I can't.

GEICO car insurance

I filed a vandalism claim on 6-11-18 and then took it to the shop for estimate on 6-12-18. They told me that it needs to be investigated and now a Jeremy Potocki and his manager Chris Griffin. Their numbers are 636-248-2737 and 918-451-5995. Jeremy called and interrogated me and then called and interrogated my father. I have never seen this type of service ever. I talked to an attorney and she told me to wait until the investigation and then call her back. I am prior military and a disabled veteran. I am also a black male and that seems to be an issue when taking your car in for a claim. They basically treat you like a criminal. Geico didn't mind taking my insurance payment on 6-15-18. Jeremy also said that they always do an investigation since it was a recent purchase of vehicle and insurance. I have had the vehicle 9 months and insurance over 6 months. Nothing is recent. They keep giving me the run around and I wish they would just make a decision so I can get my hummer fixed. I get humiliated every time I go somewhere and someone is asking who scratched your car or what happened. It's ridiculius. Please forward to upper management at geico and I will try to file something with the attorney general if I don't hear back soon.

GEICO cancelled policy

My policy was cancelled stating that we were using a vehicle for commercial use. Not at all. It's a normal truck that drives to work and back like anyone else. The only communication I received was 3 weeks after they cancelled it. When I called no resolve and nobody listened they just kept stating they couldn't help basically.

I'm as loyal as they come and when something like this happens, I will go out of my way to let everyone know how horrible my experience was.

GEICO regarding the current not-my-fault car accident claim

Online on 5/29, I filed a not-my-fault car accident claim, which happened around 7:20pm on 5/25/2018, near the intersection of south bound (SB) Oakland Road and on-ramp to north bound (NB) US101, San Jose, CA.
I waited for 3 days and didn't receive response from Geico, and then on 6/1, I uploaded a PDF file, containing the accident description, damage (see below) and five photos (including the driver's ID and Geico's Insurance Card provided by the other driver when he said sorry in the site).
"Detail: I, Te-Chih Ke, stopped before the entrance of on-ramp to NB US101 from SB Oakland Road, waiting for a biker to cross the pedestrian lane. Then the other car (Nissan Altima) driven by Mr. Lee, hit my 2015 Prius in the back. My Prius was pushed forward by at least 5 feet.

Damages:
1) Car: rear bumper with visible several minor dents and multiple horizontal minor cracks, with its right side detaching from the body by 0.3 inch; unknown damage beneath
2) Body: neck pain (myself and my wife)
3) Other: my Samsung Galaxy S7 fell down from car mount inside Prius, leaving a bleeding LCD screen (very ugly)"
In 20 min after uploading, one Geico agent called and mentioned that Geico received this PDF file.
On 6/6, I still didn't receive any update from Geico regarding my case, and I signed in my claim online and found "my claim (#0611812630101044) is closed". Therefore, I called one Geico agent to figure out what's going on. She replied that the other driver, who hit my car, could NOT be reached after many attempts and the case cannot move forward. She concluded that I would be contacted within 2~3 days for any update.
So I waited for another 8 days, but there was still no message from Geico. On 6/14, I called a Geico agent again, and she said that the status still remains the same, and that the PDF file I uploaded on 6/1 cannot prove the other driver at fault. Then she gave me the phone numbers of my claim adjuster and the adjuster for the other adjuster. This time I got to know the claim # of the other driver is 0611812630101011. 20 min later, my adjuster called me and said that my claim has been closed and he could not give much help, and suggested me to contact the other driver's adjuster for any update. On 6/15, I called the driver's adjuster, and she said that she was not supposed to talk with me, and suggested me to talk to my claim adjuster.
Therefore, I have the following serious concerns:
1) I choose Geico just because I think is a highly esteemed insurance company. I am expecting a high-quality service, in terms of nice communication, quick response and great customer support.
2) However, through the process of this case, my impression from Geico is "there is no in-time updating of the claim status from Geico at all, and as a customer I must call and dig it out myself".
3) The attitude of two adjusters looks not professional, either. My claim adjuster said that my claim is closed and he seems to have no duty to inform me of any update. The other driver's adjuster said that she were NOT supposed to talk with me, even though she knew the difficulty of reach the other driver for a while. Therefore, this fact is keeping me wait without knowing what's going on for more than two weeks, unless I made the calling. So which adjuster is supposed to keep me informed since 5/29?
4) Even though I have provided the PDF file to show what happened (including the driver's ID and Geico's Insurance Card provided by the other driver when he said sorry in the site), one adjuster said that if the other driver could not be reached at last, then my car damage needs to be repaired by my own insurance coverage. Is it a common practice in the insurance market when one side has the strong evidence and files the claim but the other side never shows up?

Hope that my above concerns be listened and be resolved, and that they can help continuously improve the service quality of Geico, as a big giant in the market.

GEICO coverage

I had a rock chip filed a glass claim they took it to regular auto claims they sent an inspector to look at damages then he said why am I here I dont see any damages I told him its a rock chip, he said he dont know why he was here they dont come out for rock chips then he said he would put in report it was a glass claim not an accident claim so then I contacted them about two weeks later about the glass claim they said they have not gotten the report back yet, then they got I got back to them and told them the rock chip was now had a foot crack because they didnt send a free rock chip repair they wrote it as a comp and collision for a rock chip. Thats not what I filed so now you owe me $500 for the repairs I had done my self so now we need to deal with it before I file insurance fraud on geico, the picture geico took just show a rock chip and the refused to pay for it so became a crake after two to three weeks of driving breaching my contract. Need money now. I have proof of everything that its a rock chip not a broken window all pictures geico and I have show a rock chip.

On Feb 2018 I canceled my insurance coverage they refused top let me cancel because I didnt have another insurance company to provide well I was not going to insure a vehicle I could not drive. so they did not cancel till till May 2018 and said they dont care didnt bill me for it but canceled for non payment but I owe them $19.00 for services not rendered because I didnt have a vehicle to insure so didnt need insurance. the Manager of customer service told me to prove it so I did and they didnt care I sent information from Texas DMV showing that Feb - March the dealer gave me no plates after temp expired the dealer got a $500 fine for not registering the vehicle and getting my plates and tags they said they dont car and said they will do nothing. But still took a payment from my account for $200.00 on Feb 22 2018 and I was already put information to cancel before that but they took the money by auto pay and was not on auto pay they said they didnt care and there is nothing I can do about it. So they owe me the sum of $500 dollars for windshield replace they caused, and for the $200 for the payment they took without permission for services not rendered.

GEICO rental car after accident

I paid for a rider on my policy for a rental car for a max monthly amount of 960 dollars. My car was totaled by another driver with insurance. After 12 days my car was pulled out from under me because no repair work was needed on my car. I had spent now where near that amount So they have my old car which was sold for salvage, I have no rental car, no check and when I complained I got "that is the way it is" You pay for something and do not receive it. If you get a claims rep that is named Brandon run for the hills to your lawyer where I am going next. Bait and switch went out of style years ago. These people have no sympathy for anyone but themselves. Run!

GEICO generali global assistance identity protection through geico

6/8/2018

I tried to activate the online credit monitoring service. They have a poor online activation system which asks questions the client has no idea what the right answer is. In my case it asked questions about street addresses and mortages from probably 20-30 years ago. An unhelpful supervisor, Sam, then asked overly invasive questions about credit cards I had not entered into their system. It was pointless to continue. I have cancelled the service.

GEICO no mod and poor customer svc / insurance

I am writing this complaint as this is now month two that Geico has removed funds from my account. In April 2018 I was billed twice for my insurance so I decided at that point I would cancel my insurance only to have the insurance pulled again May 2018. After calling them more than four times they are just informing me that with an canceled policy "we have to mail you your refund" 4 reps ago this information should have been given to me vs them saying "the funds will return to the account listed on June 05, 2018" after speaking with agents today they refuse to connect you with a manager or supervisor "because it's too early" Life has no time frame Geico and you should be better equipped to support your consumers we'd by having management on hand all the time. Please do a better job at training your employees with knowing how to tell all of your SOP that way you don't end up with irate callers!

GEICO customer service

I filed a claim with Geico for a car accident on 05/03/2018, nearly a month after my car was declared totaled and they haven't sent the settlement check to the bank. I bought a new car last week and I can't pick it up because they won't send the damn check! I have called at least 3x a day to get the process going and they are all clueless as to why it's taking so long but nothing still gets done. Worst customer service ever! I didn't even know my car was totaled until I called and got a call back 4 days later saying it's been totaled for a week now and 'someone should of contacted me'. I've filed complaints with supervisors and got assured the process will go quicker now. 2 days later and I've left 3 voicemails with my rep and still nothing back. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE

GEICO non release of claim settlement no.:[protected]

Audric Shea Crenshaw had a personal injury claim against Geico indemnity Company against Ryan McDaniel, loss Tuesday November 22, 2016. My son passed away on 11/6/17. He had an attorney Akiva Niamehr Llp who informed us about a settlement in the amount of $25, 000. I provide an affidavit described in the California Probate Section 13100 Affidavit described in Section 13100 to Geico 12/2017. My husband and I are the sole heirs. But the check was not released. The affidavit was denied and I was told to go to Probate court to get Court Order in the Los Angeles Superior Court, case no.: 18STPB02430. I was misguided, I hired a company to do the probate and the Probate Referee and Judge David Cowan on 5/22/2018 denied my petition/case. They both said I was right when I submitted the affidavit. This cost me unnecessary out-of-pocket expense of $4500 and a great deal of stress. I want to file a complaint because a simple transaction could have been settled 2 months ago. I want to be reimburse my $4500 and for Geico who has a copy of the affidavit to Release the settlement claim check in the amount $25, 000 immediately. CLAIM No.: [protected]-0101-032 this week. Should you need any document they are available upon request.

GEICO customer service

Two months ago, I switched from AAA to GEICO only to find out what terrible customer service they have. Not only they increased my monthly bill, AFTER agent in the Chula Vista office, gave me a reasonable rate, THEN they created a false issue stating AAA had listed me "at fault" in an accident, and began sending me threatening letters. AAA sent letter of experience, and Ralph Sanchez' reply was "I'm sorry, we do not take care of customer service issues at our offices, you need to call this 1800... number! Then why having offices and agents? to sell only?!

GEICO inflating quote to salvage, stuff not relevant to accident

1st Geico took a month to contact the person who hit me, Then another month to say they were questioning the validity of the insurance of the person. Then to get the quote, took it and next day they were Inflating quote to call it a salvage, stuff not relevant to accident. The accident was mainly exterior cosmetic. I asked to break down and only quote stuff relevant to accident. After breaking it out in a supplementary quote, it drops fixes to where its not a salvage. I feel its conflict of interest that they are handling the adjuster, collission center, and rental car all at the same facility. I went to another collision center, but they were told Geico will not approve fixing, till I fix the other items after I said this is not relevant to this accident. I am stuck in the process not being able to fix my car and they want to salvage it. The value they gave me does not match the real value. I have a photo that shows the value is higher (but has my personal info so i didnt upload here) so I am not being offered a fair value for my car. I have a copy of the supplement quote showing they pulled out the irrelevant stuff when I asked for it. When I asked for the photos to try to take to fix, I was told they were loaded to the claim website. The only photos I find are of interior features of my car used to get the value of the car. There are not any photos loaded on the Geico claim center to show me when i try to fix it for the stuff not relevant to this accident. I asked the adjuster and he said he'd call me right back after loaded photos and yet still haven't seen them. This is really delaying the whole process and I feel the quote should not be incorporating items not relevant to this accident as condition to approve my fixes.

GEICO horrible customer service, very unethical actions

On February 5, 2018, I was advised by Geico that I was approved for coverage on our second dwelling, so I dropped our existing coverage we had on our house. At the time of joining Geico, I informed them that we were having our front porch and the roof on the back porch replaced.

On March 23, 2018, I was contacted by a Geico agent and was advised we had to replace our "main" roof, porch, and fascia boards. I replied to them that the porch and fascia boards were pending the contractor's scheduling around rain and wind stores, and that our roofer advised that the main roof was not in need of repair. They said to send proof. I sent receipts to Geico for over $4000.00 where we had purchased porch boards to prove our intent and receipts where the roofer replaced our back roof. They replied that they wanted proof of half payment to the contractor for the porch and fascia boards. The contractor did not want half, he wanted payment upon completion as he had to cancel work days due to rain on multiple occasions.
In between all this mess I was billed another $98 dollars, for what I don't know but assumed it was because I had pending construction going on.

On April 16, 2018, I was advised that we would be dropped if the main roof was not repaired.

On April 25, 2018, I asked them if I could get a letter from the roofer with documentation regarding the condition of the roof. They replied I could.

On May 2, 2018, I obtained a letter from the roofer advising that there was 3-5 years left on the roof and sent this to Geico knowing this needed to be addressed immediately.

On May 9, 2018, I was advised by Geico (a WEEK later and 3 business days before their deadline) that since it was the end of the roof's life, it would need to be replaced and I better find another insurer. Upon finding this out I found another insurance provider but they could not get their inspector out there for a week (interesting these people wanted to send an inspector out before insuring…). I asked if they could give us another week, they replied was no. I asked if there was anyone else I could speak to, their reply was, I was speaking to them.

During this entire process I was dealing with the contractor, getting documentation to Geico, getting letters from the contractor, purchasing materials to show that work was in process, etc. I was not twiddling my thumbs as it seems Geico was in their responses to my requests and inquiries. In the end, I found another company that would insure us but please, before you sign up with this horrible company, make sure everything is explained and your house is in 100% perfection or you will be dropped and end up in a situation like ours.

I have a total loss on two cars since Irma, now over nine months. They abandoned the claim, ignored by adjuster. They lied about so many things; including letter in the mail and claim incorrectly (verifiable) that my adjuster agreed to 17% off maket value. Comps used were not in area as they are required to do but as far north as NEW YORK. NEW HAMpshire, they dont maintain their own claims web site. Their messenger center does not maintain messages but deletes. I have paid as much on rental for replacemen as their liquidation value offer. Very dishonest .

GEICO roadside assistance

I am appalled by your lack of service agreement. This is the second time i've been highly dissatisfied with your company. A few years ago, my tire blew on the highway at 4 am. No one ever picked up the phone. Yesterday, I sat in my car for four hours waiting for assistance I never received. My battery was dead and I had to beg in the street for help and pay. You constantly raise my price every six months. I am going to find another source for full coverage. You suck👿

GEICO mishandle the claim

On April 5, 2017 I had an minor car accident in front of the Chase Bank on El Norte and Broadway in Escondido. I had a very small scratch on my brand new 2017 Mercedes. The Geico Insurance adjuster was Mona Hojo (Ph# 858.513.5398), Geico estimated the damage to my vehicle at $142.00, to rub out the minor scratch.
At the time of the accident, the other party did not complain of any injuries at all. He is so scary so I did call the police. There is a police report. I tried to tell Mona that there is no witness, they are together to set up a claim on Geico. The police report did not have a witness.

My husband was a Marine sniper in Vietnam war. He passed away one month before this incident happened. He came back has his master degree of electrucal Engineer and work for Rockwell for almost 40 years. He has Alzheimer's. He took his own life in Feb 27. 2017.
Under this shock, I was very sick and did not have the ability to deal with this, The adjuster decide it is my fault. I talked to the adjuster Mona she told me that Geico was going to pay for the damage to my vehicle. She said that Geico was NOT going to pay for the other party, James Clymer's car damages, because he claimed to have a lot of damage to his vehicle, and the picture of damage to my vehicle could not have caused that much damage to his vehicle. She denied his car claim.
After this call from Mona I considered that this matter was finished, it is a small claim and there would be no further action.

In March. 2018, I was notified by Geico the other party James Clymer was going to sue me for body injuries in the accident. I was told that a new adjuster Morgan Quant from the legal dept. was now handling this case.
Morgan told me that she decided to settle the claim with James Clymer for $9000.00 because it was in the best interest of everyone.
I explained that the pictures of the damage to my vehicle proved that his car could not have received a major dent, and that the (fender bender) could not have caused injuries to him.
I believe that this whole incident was staged and planned by the other party James Clymer, and there was not an "accident" but an intentional act on his part to collect money from the insurance co. Geico had handled this claim wrongfully. Geico bully me because I am a nre window with no one to help me.
The adjuster Morgan and her boss John Richard in Geico was very determined to do so and very unkind to me no matter how I disagree with this settlement.
I believe that Geico settled this claim only for the best interest of Geico, and did not investigate it at all. This settlement is going to cause my insurance premium's to got up dramatically, and cause a financial hardship on me. Geico handle this claim in a very wrong way. This incident was clearly a case of insurance fraud. I think Geico is helping California to harbor the criminals.

I notified John Richard on April that I will talk to an attorney to go after his wrongful way to handle this claim. He called me on 4/27/2018. He totally change his attitude, he said that " if he was in my position, he will wondering why 142.00 damages of my new Mercedes will cause that much body injuries He tried to be nice and talk me out of going after this case. I don't buy it. He and Morgan was very unkind when I talked them more than a month ago. He totally changed his tune. He asked my attorney call him first if I decide to hire one.
I want Geico change the record and lower my insurance premium. I will not settle for less.
Note: Geico did not pay for the other car's damage, But paid for body imjury 9000.00. What is wrong with this picture?
John mail me an email later said that it did not have a police report. It is very wrong, it does have a police report.
If Geico does not help me with this claim, When I hire an attorney on this case. My attorney will contact every Fox News program (Sean Hannity, Ingrahan Angle, Next revolution with Steve Hilton, Walter's world, Turker Carson, The five, Fox News at night with Sharron Bream. Fox News is hungry for a story that California harbor the criminals.
We will make this the biggest issue of the insurance company FRAUD this year.
We will contact the California department of insurance to file an official complaint.
Be advised that I intend to report this incident to the following consumer protection agencies:

first adjuster in Geico Mona Hojo (Ph# 858.513.5398). She decide to pay my car damage (142.00 scratch). Rejected to pay the other party base on that scratch does not create the big bump on the other party's car.
Second adjuster in Geico adjust Morgan Quant (858) 513-5954, her adjuster code: J349. She decide to pay 9.000.00 body injury even I told her I disagree with in March. She said she can do whatever she want to do.
john Richard 858-513-5852 (Morgan's boss). He is with Morgan.
he rejected to give me any employee number or license number. He said he only have the name and phone, nothing else. I told him I record that conversation.
There is a police report filed, because I was scary of the other party. I am the one who called the police. Geico said there is no police report.

GEICO full coverage auto insurance

GEICO are crooked SOB's. These people held my car hostage for six weeks over a minor front end collision. The adjuster appraised the repair cost at one fourth the amount it actually cost. The adjuster had the car disassembled for his appraisal when it wasn't necessary draining the engine coolant and AC refrigerant from the vehicle. They also wanted me to pay for the labor involved with the unnecessary vehicle disassembly/reassembly. I had to contact supervisors and write emails threatening to go to the local magistrates office if they did not release my vehicle. I strongly recommend anyone avoid using these people for any kind of Insurance Coverage. They will not pay anything on your claim.

GEICO agent mis-using collateral estoppel

This is a formal demand for full payment of rental expenses, including rental insurance, of $368.41.
Agent Cristy Reigel, on claim #[protected], Decided not to pay for the insurance I obtained on the rental vehicle. At the time of rental, GEICO had not yet accepted liability. Therefore I wanted to use the rental company rather than my personal insurance on the vehicle. Under established remedies law (see https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/Delivery.cfm?abstractid=1961216
by J Mee - ‎2008), GEICO is estopped from benefiting from my private insurance policy. I personally pay for that policy and it in no way relates to GEICO. The GEICO Insurance Company and its agents need to follow the accepted practice of NOT relying on their victims to have insurance and therefore refusing to pay for the rental insurance.
Pleasee remit the total rental bill from Emterprise Rental Co. of $368.41.
